The game looks amazing..... and that’s it, the story and gameplay are super boring and the plot twists are just angering and not exciting. It seems like naughty dog just had some ideas for the game and threw boring infected fighting in between the short and bad story

The game is visually stunning with quite good music and voice acting, but it doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel when it comes to gameplay so can't really give it a point for that.

The most disappointing thing is that Naughty Dog used to be a leading developer in story games and making extremely captivating and interesting stories, but with this it just makes you wonder where the magic

I was so excited to see what would come of the sequel to one of the best games of all time. I. quickly purchased the collectors edition. Game is delayed, then delayed again. The leaks come out and I take a look because of my anticipation. Why does Joel die so early and in such a humiliating way? Why are the characters so bland and boring? Why did they throw away the consistent story for a petty revenge plot with holes everywhere that. just doesn't make sense? How did this take so long just to have it come out half baked? The gameplay hasn't changed at all since the first game, everything is virtually the same since the first game but with better scenery and a few. new mechanics. That doesn't mean the gameplay is bad, it's very average and enjoyable, especially when fighting human enemies and constantly running in and out of stealth, similar to uncharted. The game has somewhat open worlds, similar to lost legacy, where they give you an area to explore that's somewhat big but doesn't take more then 10 minutes to pick clean. I was very disappointed with the turn out of this game. In December I told my friend who had purchased the game as well "Even is the game is bad, it's the last of us 2, they can't screw it up that badly can they?" They did Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The ending is terrible argumentatively speaking, there is no point in Ellie forgiving Abby, it is simply something absurd objectively speaking, the qualification is for the story, something in which The Last of Us shone, all the feelings and the bond that we unite with the characters it disappears, they throw it away, a waste of new characters. The gameplay is very good but there are still problems with the AI, but I insist that you cannot throw away everything you built in the first part, wasting many of your new and old characters for a goal that you finally did not meet. Terrible, I do not know what the criticism saw well in terms of history, I suppose that daring to kill characters and especially the main characters of the last game, but if they are going to do it, it must be done very well, however, in the end the way they did it was ridiculous. I will begin the analysis explaining the title, I do not know the rest but where I am from the game comes 100 dollars, the base game without any extra question, lately it is turning out for me personally that I am paying dearly for the disappointments at the audio visual level on various platforms , to see it goes without spoilers and graphically short it is a spectacular game, at a sound level it is fantastic (and if you see that the song they included came out a bit expensive since it only comes out once and is the only one you will hear in everything the game) at the level of gameplay nothing new under the sun does not detach much from the rest of the games that are on the lap and personally it makes me stretch it a lot and I see it a bit repetitive, innovating does not innovate much that we say but we are going to the problem, the playable decisions and narratives, there I find a loose game, quite loose, with issues put in shoehorn and I do not know if the expression exists in their countries, it makes me a game very for the hobby (plays for current fashions). alles, the press and it is very politically correct, if you do not believe it), it can be said that the game is divided in two and that is where another problem arises, forcing empathy, specifically a game that you are going to end up exhausted by the length and how forced it is in various situations, where the premise of the trip is diluted as the hours of play go by and with an ending that at least personally leaves me quite unhappy and with a very bad taste of mouth and that at least personally I recommend you buy when its price drops.
Very far from being the game of the year ...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Game had alot of part that where drawn out and felt way to redundant. Boss fights are definitely repetitive. You get trapped in a room and run in circles until you kill the boss. Some areas of the story feel forced and does not flow with the original game. Breaking from the characters original behavior for me was a major issue. It just made the game unbelievable and did not allow for a fluid immersive experience. There definitely where alot of story holes. Another thing to point out it the repetitive hunt for supplies and the ENDLESS opening empty drawers and cabinets only to find absolutely nada! I must say I did enjoy playing as Abby more then I did playing Ellie for some reason. The graphics in the game where beautiful but not the best that I've seen. Expand

What the screenwriter did was thinking you were going to eat with him, so he put you on the toilet lock and stepped on your head to tell you to taste the food he just cooked. Do you think he will care if you really eat **** Actually he is just enjoying the process of forcing him to eat ****

This is shown in the bond between Joel and Ellie. We see Joel slowly come to view her as a daughter, and Ellie eventually sees him as a father. The bleak journey they take to get to that point is worth it, because it forges a strong and believable connection that we all root for. Even at game's end, when questionable decisions are made, they are based upon that connection. The tragic ending makes us wonder how their relationship will be tested by the consequences, and what these two will do together in the future. We are still rooting for them!

Sadly, The Last of Us Part II makes it clear very early on that it is done with the Joel/Ellie dynamic, at least in any positive or meaningful way. In its place, we are given a revenge mission with no chance of redemption. Unlike in Part I, there is no one to root for in this game. Our heroine is stripped of all likability, transformed into a rage-fueled murderer, occasionally breaking up the bloodlust with depression. Several new characters are introduced, but not given enough backstory or development for us to care about them, either. We are left with a collection of broken murderers who have lost nearly all positive personal connection in their lives. It's as if all the progress anyone made in Part I is completely reversed. Oddly enough, it seems that this sense of bleak hopelessness is somehow the point, as it is reinforced by a very unfulfilling conclusion. There is no reason for the journey, no 'ends to justify the means'. All that's left is a profound sense of loss for what could have been. This may be an okay concept for a 2hr film, but playing through hours and hours of it - paying to play it - feels torturous. Not to mention how much of a tonal shift it is for fans of the previous game; you'll probably enjoy this game more if you know very little of Part I. Of course, the acting, music, animation, sound design, etc. are all top tier, maybe the best ever in gaming. That's not an exaggeration, and it's the only reason I can't give this game any less than a 3. But this makes the storyline feel so much more disappointing. You can see how this team had all the talent/tools they needed to make an amazing game, but the soul was completely sucked out of it. What's left is a gilded vessel - pretty to look at, but ultimately, empty.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
