    I'm halfway through the game and have avoided any spoilers that happen later on, but after devoting many hours to this game I can say that I am extremely disheartened by this game. I don't get excited to play this game, much like I did with the first one. It feels more like a chore to play this game in my opinion. The pacing is atrocious. The character development is garbage.     Let me just say this... Everything this sequel set out to do following the original, it did so perfectly.

    The developers wanted to tell a specific story. The main theme of this story is around revenge - that violence begets violence. The players may not agree with the decisions made in the game by main character. The thing is... they aren't meant to. You form certain perceptions by the    Let me just say this...     The developers wanted to tell a specific story. The main theme of this story is around revenge - that violence begets violence. The players may not agree with the decisions made in the game by main character. The thing is... they aren't meant to. You form certain perceptions by the time you're halfway through. Although Ellie's actions are questionable, you understand the reasoning behind them. And then the writers flip the script. You (hopefully) realise that the actions of the antagonist are equally as justified - in fact, they show more moral restraint than the protagonist. You hated what they did but the reasoning of their actions is the same. It's a vicious cycle which can only end with forgiveness. The non-linear story telling and the pace conveyed this theme excellently.

    Apart from the story, the game design and voice acting was some of the best in any game ever. The landscape shots and character work really are things to marvel at and appreciate. This game does not shy away from violence. It's brutal. Again, as it is meant to be. This is one of the most stress inducing games I've played. The score adds to each intense scene, raising your heart rate and stress levels with every beat. I'm seeing an overwhelming amount of negative reviews on this site and on YouTube. Majority of what I've heard people complain about is 1) the story decisions which they didn't agree with and 2) the LGBTQ aspects. To the first I'd repeat what I said at the start - you may not agree what decisions they took but they had a strong reasoning for each one. If you can't see that, you may have missed the point. And for the second, I've seen games in the past forcefully push forward similar themes and it's clear - it doesn't sit right and you can tell its there to make a point. The Last of Us 2 doesn't feel that way at all. It flows as naturally in the game as any heterosexual story arcs in any other game do. If you feel that the developers put this in due to an agenda, and that's your basis for hate on this game then I do think you should avoid it on the whole. Play it with an open mind or you aren't going to have an enjoyable experience.

    This may not the sequel you wanted it to be, but it's a masterpiece regardless. For me, the PS4 generation ended on a high note.    … Expand

    For me this game is a masterpiece.
    I loved every moment in this game. The graphics are so beautiful, the gameplay very good, and IA.
    Enjoy the game.

    Good game. nice mechanics. i really enjoyed playing it :). There are some things i didn't like, but overall a good experience:)

    Naughty Dog, stop trying to follow the orders of minorities because you are making total crap of your game. You could make an awesome game, but you ruined everything. The only good thing i see is the reference to the first part of The Last Of Us. That's why i give this game 2 but not 0.

    I never really was a fan of the gameplay of the last of us that's not really why I played that game. It was all about the story and the characters but the last of us part 2 feels so far out of place. Some of the scenes in this game feel so forced and uncomfortable. This ain't it!

    Nobody who wrote a negative review has finished the game yet.

    The game was actually amazing. Graphics, gameplay, story. I understand the dissatisfaction as ND did not go for the sure success fan service recipe, but took the story two notches further with a result to displease some people. For me, this was a bold move that justifies the player in the end.

It was even publicly broadcasted that it would be an entirely different beast to the first game, the magic and wonder has been replaced by an eternally bleak and heart-wrenching tale of vengeance and darkness as it travels into the flawed nature of humanity and the repercussions of choosing revenge. It doesn't glorify violence and invites the player to feel bad about their actions as Ellie becomes further calcified by her survival instinct and hardened as her quest for retribution unravels. The original was about 'love' while this sequel tackles the topic of 'hate' which adds to the gloomy tone and devastating story.

    The graphics and character animations continue to push the envelope and test what studios are capable of and it looks like you're watching a movie, the amount of detail on the locations and foliage to the rundown areas of the country as we journey from more than one state giving it a much larger scope than the first game.

    Neil Druckmann outright said that 'fun' isn't the word he would use for Part II, it's a relentless endurance test that continuously beats you down and shows no mercy in displaying the grim reality which fits with the current state of society and that humans can be just as monstrous as the abominations from the Cordyceps outbreak.

    The voice acting and sharply written script helps make the characters believable and engaging and offers a sense of diversity by not conforming to the norm and showing acknowledgment of other communities like the masculine Abby who originally rubbed me the wrong way but Laura Bailey sells her performance.

    This isn't going to appeal to gamers who want things to stick to the status quo as this isn't intended to take the safe way out and a lot of things will happen that you don't like and it's entirely beyond your control. That doesn't suddenly mean the game is bad because it defies your expectations from the first game, it just shows that we're in a whole different weight class now and characters change. Joel had become consumed by hubris after taking on the Fireflies and fighting through the hospital to rescue Ellie that he found himself nigh on indestructible and his arrogance is his downfall which shares similarities with Walter White when he demands rival dealers to say his name and also, Rick Grimes when trying to take over Alexandria because he's already beaten his adversaries and thinks nothing can stop him.

    This is an entirely contrary to what you expect kind of game that grabs hold and doesn't let go and leaves a chilling indelible mark long after the 30 hour campaign.

    The leaks undeniably hurt the reception but people are blowing it way out of proportion and hold a rosy-colored view of the first game that they can't accept change or appreciate that it wasn't going to be the same. There's also edgelords who dislike Ellie's sexual orientation even though it was obvious in the first game with her tomboy look and her romantic experimentation with her friend Riley in the Left Behind DLC. There's also incels who despise strong female representation in media and slander the slightest things.

    Only you can really perceive how you feel but take off the nostalgia glasses for a moment and you'll see that Naughty Dog have raised the bar, yet again.

    El juego es muy bueno gráficamente y la historia es muy buena, está genial que hayan agregado la opción de poder saltar, eso le da un poco más de dinamismo al juego, también el tamaño de los escenarios es mucho más grande que la entrega anterior, puedes pasar por lugares y ni haber visto todo lo que había en el, el sistema de modificaciones sigue siendo el mismo que el de la entregaEl juego es muy bueno gráficamente y la historia es muy buena, está genial que hayan agregado la opción de poder saltar, eso le da un poco más de dinamismo al juego, también el tamaño de los escenarios es mucho más grande que la entrega anterior, puedes pasar por lugares y ni haber visto todo lo que había en el, el sistema de modificaciones sigue siendo el mismo que el de la entrega pasada, eso pudo haber cambiado y ser mejorado, creo que las opiniones negativas que le están dando al juego son infundadas, solo son fans de la entrega haciendo un berrinche, matar a Joel fue una decisión de seguro difícil para los creadores, pero fue tan bien ejecutada, para las personas que no habían tenido spoilers como yo fue realmente sorprendente que se decidieran de Joel tan fácilmente, eso demuestra la crudeza y cruel del mundo donde se desarrolla el juego , en ese momento juro que sentí el mismo sentimiento de venganza que tiene ellie al querer matar a cada uno de ellos, he leído análisis de jugadores dónde dan una nota de un 0, eso es ridículo, no pueden negar que el juego tiene unos gráficos maravillosos, el sistema de combate es bueno y fluido, los nuevos enemigos agregados son impresionantes, la banda sonora es fenomenal y hermosa, si sumas todos esos puntos debería dar una nota 5 como mínimo, no un 0 como esos niños haciendo un berrinche por qué les mataron al personaje favorito le dan una nota 0 a esta obra hermosa. Conclusión: si estás aquí y quieres comprar el juego y tienes dudas, hazlo, ni te deje llevar por las notas falsas que le están dando al juego, es un juego de mínimo una nota 8 en adelante, no le di 10 por qué conserva algunos aspectos que mejorar .… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
