Absolutely magnificent! Naughty Dog have created a master piece! It kept me on the edge of my seat for my entire 36 hour playthrough! The story was magnificent! I would like to particularly mention the voice acting and the mocap work, it was all wonderfully done! Well done to the team at Naughty Dog!

Ellie has a viewpoint. Abby has a viewpoint. YOU CAN ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT THIS AND STILL CHOOSE A SIDE. This is *my personal opinion *:

Yes, **** indeed sucks from Abby's perspective. But guess what? Ellie was honestly too young to be able to make the decision to throw her life away in a permanent choice like this. Joel was right to remove her from this situation because OF COURSE she wants to die in a blaze of glory and save the human race. She is a teenage girl, and how much more romantic a chance can you get?
But THERE IS A REASON THE AGE OF CONSENT/DRINKING/VOTING IS A BIT HIGHER THAN 14.

Ellie would have died then and there if the decision was in her hands. But she never would have met Cat, Dina, Jesse, had the years of life in between and beyond the events of TLOU2. I'm willing to bet that, with her current experience, she can look back and agree that she would have made the wrong choice. Joel knew that. He knew she would have chosen to die. He was right to take that choice away from her. She was a child then. She is a woman now. And in the end, Joel knew that he was facing the consequences of his actions in saving Ellie's life. Conversely, Doc Jerry didn't have the right to take that choice away from her, and I'm not sorry he got wasted as a result. Abby can be bitter about it all she wants; her father made the decision to end someone else's life *without asking their opinion first*. So when the tables are turned on him, he should understand that he is facing the consequences of his choice. And someone should have explained that to Abby. No one did, or if they did, they should have realized that *SHE DID NOT HAVE THE EMOTIONAL MATURITY TO DEAL WITH IT*. She clearly needed people around her who could explain this to her in an impartial and fair manner. From what we see of the remaining Fireflies, they shared the despotism and self-righteousness that she had. They felt that they had the right to force their choices on the people around them. Abby got Joel's position forced on her. She had to accept another person murdering someone she loved, without giving him a say in the matter. Joel was not willing to sit back and accept it.
I'm not saying that Abby should have to go through this either. But she needs to face the fact that her father had done to him what he intended to do to another person-- except that Jerry was willing to murder *a child*.

My feelings are that Joel did right. Jerry deserves what he gets. Abby and Ellie both need to understand not only the beliefs of the others involved, but also the fact that their actions and intentions devolve onto their children in the most direct way possible. But, for my two cents, in the beginning of the prologue, I threw Abby off a cliff. I should have won the game then and there. I choose Ellie and Joel.

But in the grand scope of things, there are no fast and easy answers in this situation. AND THAT IS THE ENTIRE POINT. Naughty Dog did a beautiful job of making the player understand that every person has different views and choices. And, in the words of the immortal Andrew Ryan, we all make choices. But in the end, our choices make us.

By far, the best game I have played. Game play is spot on, and the story is great. On the surface, you may believe it's a uninspiring revenge plot, but as you play through, you realise the plot is a vessel for an inspiring narrative, taking you through a gamut of emotions. While some are uncomfortable, they are necessary to experience the games unique story and its underlying morals. What a ride.

I can see why people dont like this game, some scenes are pretty brutal, but personally i think its worth it for the fantastic story that is told. the perspective of abby made the ending in particular that much more crazy and brutal. there isnt much new gameplay wise apart from a few new items and traversal method, but its mostly about the story, and that is where the last of us 2 really shines Expand

Best game I have ever played. The game comes with a great story, stunning graphics and acting so real that I was more then once overwhelmed by all kinds of emotions. I don’t understand why so many people hate on the game. The story is brilliant. People who are complaining about the story must have stopped playing the game too early...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finished this game recently. I totally understand why some people wouldn't like it. But I enjoyed it thoroughly.

This game is not without its problems. The 3rd act kinda' falls off after the main characters, Ellie and Abby have their fated duel. And the characters motivations aren't as clear as the original. But I i feel like those criticisms are merely nit-picks in regards to the amazing gameplay. I had hella' fun playing this game and can't imagine what they'll do for a 3rd sequel.

Humans killing each other off one by one, battling for power, not having empathy, and not caring who they destroyed in their path.

I haven't played a game as immersive as this since the last of us 1. This game took me on a roller coaster of emotions. From shouting at the tv, to crying like a baby. With gaming being centered around paywalls and microtransactions, I can really appreciate the effort that was put into creating this. The story from start to ending, I loved, as frustrating of an experience as it was. Bravo to Naughty Dog

The game is phenomenal. Bought it digitally on launch and loved it from start to finish. Most of the hate I've seen online seems to be coming from incels and misogynists.

Stealth game play is wonderfully fluid and the graphics were nerdgasmic on my OLED. Never seen a game look so good, even on my gaming PC. Truly a technical marvel.

Aborda temas controversos, mas de uma forma ótima. Te coloca na pele do "inimigo" e te faz sentir empatia.

    O gameplay é excelente e a história é perfeita.

O único ponto negativo é a extensão do jogo, demorei 30h para terminar, achei um pouco longo. Único motivo da nota ter sido 9 ao invés de 10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a true masterpiece, hands down. I really dont understand and absolutely cant agree with all these negative reviews. These people are just mad because they want a happy ending and have a game like they would like to have, but naughty dog breaks this and presents us a an unforeseeable, brutal and thrilling gaming experience. This is a ride on a rollercoaster.
The graphics are insane, facial expression and AI is top notch. Just one eye candy after another.

I think over time this game will receive it's justified recognition when I remember a game like Metal Gear Solid 2 where people were upset that you aint going to play as Solid Snake. But in the end, it ends up being one of the best if not the best part of the series.

At the end I would like to quote Arthur Morgan von Red Dead Redemption 2 who said "Revenge is a fools game".

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
