The story in this is abysmal many people are outraged about the LGBT content and honestly I don't care either way they exist in real life and therefore can be written into videogames what I dislike about this is how they've shoehorned in extended gameplay as an enemy character who frankly I hated because she killed Joel and then when you finally reach the end you don't even kill her, honestly some of the most poor plot choices I've seen in a game yet.

    Gameplay is 10/10 story is 0/10.

    If it was any other series this would be a run of the mill triple A game but they really wet the bed with this one

    The game is not nearly asperfect as the first one but it certainly lives up to the expectations. The story is deep , engaging and traumatising even. It manges to make you feel sadness, happiness and the narrative beats helps to convey these feelings to you. At the beginning it sets up your mind in a state of " I'm going to kill every last one of them" but as the narrative evolves we slowlyThe game is not nearly asperfect as the first one but it certainly lives up to the expectations. We get to understand that each one of our actions has a weight in this post apocalyptic world. The quest of revenge is justified but at the end we question whether it was truly worth everything you had. The second main character greatly ressembles Joel's arc in the first game and we see how she changes from a ruthless killer of Justice to a Caring person who finally finds something to live for again. The finale shows us how it is hard to break from something here the cycle of violence instilled by the end of The first game ,but leaves a deep profound impact which makes players think and think and think... For the foreseeable future of the series and in which direction the writers want to expand the story . It is not Joel's and Ellie's story, it's the story of The Last of us.… Expand

    This is just another "humans only suck" type story. Just as pointlessly brutal and narratively bland as the Walking Dead ended up being. This game is another entertainment disaster. After slaughtering countless people in the path of revenge, many of whom weren't actually bad people at all. The one who is the target of your insane ire is left to live on....     Every element of this game stands to make it a masterpiece, the writing, gameplay, graphics, everything is amazing... The only reason I didn’t like it is I wish it wasn’t Ellie and Joel going through all of this, they deserved better.

    This is a perfect game. In my opinion just as good as the first game. Dont believe the userscore on metacritic. Most are butthurt children who has their own game in mind.

    The Graphics are phenomenal with the game play and level design the the only problem is the story but id didn't affect my overall experience

    The first game and dlc were perfect stories with amazing gameplay. Now I'm left feeling empty and struggling to point anything I liked about the overly long and incoherent story. No real changes to the combat and gameplay, which is fine because I still enjoyed it. False advertising in the trailers.

There was NOTHING I would complain about or disagree with. This game HAS to be played in order to understand the whole story. Watching playthroughs is not enough.Trust me. I finished it today. I cried, laughed, thought about specific things and sometimes I was left completely speechless. This game deserves nothing but a 10/10. Everyone who says it is a 1-3 /10 is lying. Those have NOT played the game or at least DIDNT finish it until the end. These are just people who watched playthroughs and are not happy with the story because a character died. I beg you to play the game yourself. You can still return it if you are that unhappy with the game. But please do not listen to the haters out there.     Extraordinário. Dou enfase aos graficos e na produção do jogo, como sempre um exclusivo PS surpreendente. Em razão a jogabilidade, dou meu prestigio ao combate, mas peca na facilidade de itens, zerei no difícil e achei muito loot, o que torna fácil o jogo, entretanto ainda não testei o modo sobrevivência. Sobre a Estória, o jogo te prende do inicio ao fim, o cativando com os personagens eExtraordinário. Dou enfase aos graficos e na produção do jogo, como sempre um exclusivo PS surpreendente.     It has a great essence, this occurs when you combine a great action with a large number of feelings. It is really beautiful. I recommend it without hesitation.

    Brutal. Muestra la naturaleza humana desarrollada en un mundo apocalíptico. Muchos esperaban un videojuego palomitero en historia (Que le gustara a todo el mundo, todo color de rosas). La gente no tiene claro el contexto de cada parte, ni el mensaje de fondo de las mismas.

    Mucho Sasel suelto, con su dedito acusador. Este juego es brutal en todo sus aspectos.

    Well im not gonna lie, the game kinda dissapointed me, but i found the game very beautifull and with a stunning story (even though, some scenes got me really, really dissapointed).

    This is what happens when you develop a game to satisfy certain groups of people, it's clear that they have no issues destroying a good story to get shock value.

    BTW: My original score was 1, I changed it because metacritic doesn't allow negative reviews for this game and here's the proof.

    Господа, я не понимаю что вам не нравится. Вы либо не играли в это, либо вы просто ведомые своими эмоциями и ожиданиями. Если так то мне жаль вас. Ведь вы злитесь и сквозь зубы вылеваете хейт в сторону продукта который лучше многого из того что уже есть. Вы говорите, что это не первая часть, что нет той химии между персонажами. Нет проще пробежать игру за 15 часов на лёгком уровне сложности и сетовать на тупых нпс и на скуку. Эфир не фортнайт что бы тебя развлекать. Это серьезное высказывание, в которое надо вникать и немного по думать о происходящем. Это сложная игра где тебе всегда не хвататает патронов/инструментов. Где засидевшись за укрытием перестреливаясь аки макс пейн ты в проигрыше. Она заставляет сердце биться чаще при встрече с заражённым в тёмной комнате, а у тебя из вооружения кулаки. Показывает насилие таким какое оно есть. Не романтизирует войну как многие тайтлы, а выворачивает на изнанку то к чему индустрия привыкла. Это вам не Батл филд сучки, тут жизнь. Плохие не всегда плохие. А хорошие поступки, хороши только с одной стороны. Лезбухи выглядят органично, то что вы не можете дрочить на Эли потому что она мужик больше чем вы, являясь девушкой ,это ваши проблемы. Она тут не причём. Игра ахуенна, спасибо за неё!!… Expand

    This game is just amazing, in all ways, the graphics, the history, etc... u have to open your mind n understand that this is real life, not always what u want and thats it. Period.
    I cry so many times, laugh n feel so much angry, i want a part 3 so so bad.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I guess I share my back story with this franchise with the vast majority of people here. I absolutely love the first game and have anticipated the sequel impatiently. However, from my very first encounter with The Last of Us years ago I've felt more attached to Ellie than Joel so for me making her the main focus of the story in the continuation was really a dream coming true. That's probably why I find Joel's death (even despite the overwhelming sadness of the moment) a good starting point of the whole narrative and something that gives Ellie very strong motivation for the revenge.
    The first half of the game (everything up until the initial confrontation of Ellie and Abby in the theater) truly left me invested in the story and eager for more. I very much liked watching the relationship between Ellie and Dina evolving and the comfort it gave the main character as well as the player. For me, the camera shots of Ellie's back and the shift in her emotional state, were (and stil are) enough of an anti-violence message that Naughty Dog was surely aiming to deliver.
    And here unfortunately comes the second half of the story... At the beginning of the Abby-oriented storytelling I was convinced it was only for a little while (to add some valuable insights into the character's past etc.). I'm totally okay with temporary changes of the player's perspective (after all it worked in the first game), but why anyone though that it was a good idea to throw everything straight into the trash bin and to force us to solve the problems of the person we wholeheartedly hate for the next ten hours? And don't even get me started on making the player fight Ellie...
    I'm happy that they at least allowed me see the ending of the story through Ellie's eyes and it was very emotionally-charged and thought-provoking, but honestly I was so tired after this whole "Abby twist" that it wasn't as touching kind of closure as I'd been hoping for before all of that happened.
    To nicely sum the thing up, The Last of Us Part II isn't a failure at its core - it's still top notch from the strictly technical point of view, but it was unpleasant for me to see some strange storytelling experiments in my beloved game - there are DLCs for example to implement such ideas. In addition, what's made the disappointment even worse was the advertising - not a word has been said that something like that is coming story-wise and if something takes up about a half of your product, you should mention it. All in all, let me just quote Dina - "I'd give it a six".    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
