    I have no word to say how disappointed I am. Waiting for this game since I was 15 in 2013, just to see Naughty dog spitting on my beloved characters. Congratulations rest of the team, gameplay and graphics are great. I feel sorry for you even more, hope that you can find a place where you can connect your talent with some great story.

    TLOU Part 2 is a masterpiece and a milestone in interactive storytelling. A game that will have an enormous impact on the industry. Go play it. Now.

    The game tries too hard to subvert your expectations in the most tasteless way. The main writer simply misunderstood what the fans loved about the game. It was always the dynamic of Joe and Ellie alone, not this over the top revenge story that's far-fetched.

    Anyone giving any game 100 or 10 are not to be trusted. There is no such thing as a perfect video game. That said, TLOU2 has a lot going for it. It is beautifully rendered, the level design is excellent, and the gameplay is about what one would expect from a ND game. We have certainly seen this combat system before, and it is as adequate as it ever was. Where it utterly fails is inAnyone giving any game 100 or 10 are not to be trusted. Trying to make Abby at all sympathetic is like putting lipstick on a pig, and making the player play as her for so much of the game following her brutal murder of Joel is insulting. Ultimately it is a preachy sermon on multiple hot button topics that I could have done without. I certainly don't need a game designer to lecture me about social tolerance and the futility of revenge in a game that requires one's characters to kill many scores of people. While I won't spoil it, the ending is without doubt one of the most insulting and intellectually dishonest things I have seen written into a video game. So the upshot is this. If you are the kind of gamer who only cares about graphics and gameplay characteristics, this is a good game for you. But if you expect a good story in a narrative driven game, then my advice would be to give this game a hard pass.… Expand

    If you consider the technical aspect (animations, level design, ...) this game is almost perfect, but what's the purpose? There is already a medium which has perfect movement and animations: it's the Movie.

The story as a whole is completely not necessary and not believable: it's full of dumb plot twists, of "subverted expectations" and plot holes; the dialogues are trivial, futile and way too slow, too much pause, too much staring and breathing: it's just plainly boring. And when finally something happens, it should not have happened.
    On the techical side it's a 10, on the story and characters side it's 1: so there you have my vote.    … Expand

    The gameplay in this game greatly improved. Its intense and rewarding. Characters are interesting and complex with a great story for them. I wasn't expecting this story but I'm happy with the risks it takes. More video game studios need to take note of what naughty dog does with their story and characters

    For me personally The Last of Us ended with Part One, they lived happily ever after.

    Masterpiece. Story took risks and pulled it off, game play was refreshing and amazing, it was very brutal and gave you the feeling of guilt and pressure of killing like no game before did, all the bad reviews are just blind fortnite kids who haven't even played the game

The gameplay was solid and the story was riveting, especially for a PS3 game. This, however, I did not enjoy. The fact that it's double the length of the last game makes it an experience comparable to torture. Nothing about this game is better than the first one. The story is a laughably bad excuse for a sequel. The gameplay has not been improved except for the trivial jump button, which might as well be removed because it is useless. AI has not been improved either, zombies still act really stupid. The game is visually nice, but it still has many bugs. Notably, corpses will just disappear if you don't look at them for a split second. The game is way too violent, but I'm sure many sociopaths and psychopaths alike are happy about that. All in all, the game is just a bad experience. The maximum score it could ever deserve is a 7/10, but I'm not that generous.… Expand

    It knocked us out of shapely. Rather than revenge, we felt as if our bond had been broken down.
    Ellie, of course, can't make rational judgments in that' ellie just want revenge. Therefore, we have to hurt innocent people as many times as we did before.
    We even have to manipulate the character Abby who hurt Joel on our own. Do we want to play a game? Joel, who was selfish in his previous work but spared no effort to protect his daughter-like Ellie, faced a disastrous end. If you're a fan of the Last of Us, can you continue the game with Abby?

    Everything built up in the previous game was destroyed here. Side characters weren't memorable, story made no sense, and the ending was absolutely garbage. The devs tried to go for realism by killing characters randomly, but this makes for horrible story telling where all your favorite characters will end up dying.

The TLOU 2 trailers should be considered false advertisement because they purposely avoid showing the horrendous second half of the game. If you liked TLOU 1 gameplay then you will like TLOU 2 gameplay. Visuals were great too, but the lackluster plot takes away from the entire experience.     It’s like, really really bad. The entire plot serves no purposes at all, and the inconsistency goes from gameplay to the storyline, to the ending. Anyone can make a game with good visuals and sound if they have cash, but storyline is what makes games in 2020 different from 1960.

    Honestly this game is not for fans of the relationship between Joel and Ellie, this game totally destroys that and it changed it into something unrecognizable for The Last Of Us, Gameplay and Graphics amazing, but story is not worth the 7 years wait.

    Good looking game but that is all that it has going for it. What a train wreck of a story this game is. It totally spits on the greatness that was the first game. Terrible writing all around. I have a high tolerance for bad writing but this game just takes the cake. It comes of as overwhelmingly pretentious and character motives seemingly change on a dime. Nothing makes sense.

    Doesn’t deserve more than a 1. And the 1 is given because gameplay is decent. The most of us played the Last of Us for the story and let me tell you there was no story. Killing off main characters just for the “shock” value. This game was SJW propoganda.

    Unfortunately, despite the impressive graphics, somehow the character design and obvious excessive anti-sexualization made the character models somehow look inferior to the seven year older predecessor, intentually making all charcters look more gritty and androgynous.

    And while the gameplay has slightly been improved upon, the game AI, shooting mechanics, and general gameplay formula is nearly identical to the original, which was fairly clunky and outdated even for seven years ago.

    And worse of all is the plot, which is abysmal from every possible aspect.

    Characters are all the same gritty one-dimensional characters, with very few unique and captivating qualities to any of them other than their SJW characteristics (race, sex, sexual orientation). Even Ellie, who used to be an cute sharp-tongue girl is reduced to a rough monotone protagonist that will make you fall asleep.

    The plot seemlying forgets about the infected and randomly remembers that they exists and just throws in random encounters, the vast majority of the game focuses on human survivor wars.

    They force you to play a new transgender character, Abby. Who destroys everything you love about the original. Instead of making her the antagonist, they amazingly make her the protagonist which you play half the game as (possibly more), in order to make you sympathize with her instead, which horribly fails. Playing has her is a chore which you wish to end as soon as possible. In addition previous character motives and behaviors are changed and not consistent throughout the story leading to incredible inconsistencies and plot holes.

    This game is like a Tumbler fan fiction of the last of us, meant to push SJW propaganda and not a sequel to one of video games most beloved games.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
