    Two words that describe this game? Utter disappointment. Few game play improvements and an atrocious story in a story focused game! Unlike the first game which I thought was truly a masterpiece, TLOU2 has a massive amount of plot holes and a plethora of shallow characters. Its like a highschooler came up with this story last minute for his writing class. Just generic popcorn trash filledTwo words that describe this game? Utter disappointment. Honestly, I'm glad that when this game got leaked it was one of Neil's worst days of his life because that's what playing this game was for me and my friends. I've always cared for Joel since he reminded me of my uncle and to witness the tasteless way they decided to end his story. I would've been okay with his death if they had given him the same treatment Rockstar gave Arthur Morgan, let him go out as a hero/badass and not like some **** It took me a while to continue playing and I was fully on board with the whole revenge mission, playing as Abby didn't change any of the feelings I have towards her. Then when it finally came to the ending I couldn't belive Ellie just let her go. So now I guess it's an easy answer for who's the best post-apocalyptic daughter. If only Clementine was in this game I mean with her there's no doubt in my mind she would've gotten the job done without any hesitation.… Expand

    I absolutely despised playing through this game. Playing 10 hours as a despicable antagonist is not fun or engaging at all, and it has by far the WORST ending out of any game i've ever played (including ME3).

    This will go down in history as one of the most hated AAA games, and whoever gave the go ahead for this story, you should be ashamed. People waited and wanted to play this game for the story and characters.

If the point that made the game one of the best we've ever played is such a trash, because I can't call it other way, then the game was FOR NOTHING, they sent to waste all the work and effort, including all the hopes we fans had since seven years ago. Maybe someone who didn't play the first part could do something with this game, but not people like me who had fallen in love whit the first one. I won't ever recommend this game, o the opposite, ignore it as if it never existed, that's what I can say about a game that in only two hours vanished my will to continue playing, a game I paid for just to ended up wanting to just throw away and forget I ever tried.

    And a little comment to add, some people say we give bad record because of DIFFERENT SEXUAL ORIENTATION, well the answer is NO, that has nothing with hate to the subject. The first game made it clear, that Ellie is strong, that she knows how to fight, and how to love people too. In the DLC it was completely clear who she was, we LOVE her, and we love Joel too, we love the story of how they met, how they could trust each other and how they saved each other in so many ways.

    The game was a master piece adding all. I can't tell in just this message how sad I am after this situation. I wish the second part was never announced so I could treasure the real game it was.    … Expand

No vengas con que uno evoluciona como persona, si matan a alguien de tu familia o alguien muy cercano a ti,¿ si tu cuando llegues a tener al asesino que hizo sufrir a tu familiar lo dejarías vivir?.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First things first: technically, this is a tour de force for the PS4, even on its last legs. A great send-off for the console and a reminder of what it was able to achieve through its lifecycle. Naughty Dog's technical prowess is (maybe) only rivaled by Rockstar. That alone should warrant a better score, but I'm playing it for its story.

    On the story side of things, the game wants to teach you so many moral lessons that by the end of its 25 plus hours (which quite frankly, became a grind), I couldn't care anymore.

    I played the first game scared to death that something would happen to either Joel or Ellie because they made us care about them so fondly. That bond ended from the get-go...yes, Joel could die (and die he did), but in a proper fashion/circumstance. They just killed him to show us that any action deserves a reaction (wow, really?) and make sure his previous decision-making (saving his "daughter" who wouldn't?) couldn't go free of its reckoning.

    The game's sense of self-righteous is so pretentious – and to an extent, really pathetic – it tries to shove down your throat that it's better than you while forcing you to do things you wouldn't do if you had the chance to decide for yourself.

    With so much shady stuff coming from the studio policies and how they treat their people, it bothers me that Naughty Dog dared to think they could get away with trying to preach over ethics in life through this regrettable story.

    And no, this has nothing to do with Ellie being lesbian, etc. People bringing that up to save face for Druckman's hypocrisy are the real phobics.

This game is a message and not a game. I didn't play to learn a 20 hour hald assed lesson of "revenge is bad unless you are the villain and next to nothing happens to you" man. I couldn't give less of a **** about the characters if I tried and what happened to ellie and Joel is character assassinations of the highest degree. First Joel gives up his name and trusts some random cult and gets himself killed. A 40 year survivor of the apocalypse is supposed to suddenly become a dumbass to further the plot. Then with ellie she just starts **** turning into this psycotic mess and does a lot of things she wouldn't do. NOBODY WANTED TO PLAY AS ABBY AND NOTHING YOU COULD HAVE DONE WOULD MAKE US EMPATHISE WITH HER. And Jesus Christ don't get me started on the ending. What a **** joke. Just ruin both of the characters with the cheap **** shocking death and disasterous revenge campaign. 0/10 you just shat all over the fans.… Expand

Joel and Tommy are naive idiots, there's a she hulk on hormone therapy (somehow) running around bashing heads in with golf clubs because of daddy issues, and Ellie cares more about raising a child with her lesbian lover that she had with a man Ellie isn't strongly connected to than she cares about avenging Joel.

I loved seeing the relationship between Joel and Ellie, and sometimes even felt tenderness for Ellie, honestly a touching story. Now in part 2, well it's crap. Who wants to play a story where Joel dies, the main character, and there is homo propaganda and forced diversity?, the making of the story is dull and simple, it is only about revenge.     The biggest disappointment of this generation.. I’m a HUGE FAN of the first game! But this sequel is a bunch of trash!

    and replacing them with a petty revenge story driven by unlikable characters making decisions that seem ridiculous and unbelievable.
    structurally, the story takes a near 10 hour detour introducing you to new characters and storylines that are completely ancillary to the main plot,

    This game is such a cheating on us players. The one rule of storytelling: Make me care. And what we got was completely the opposite. I do not care with this characters. This game shows how crooked the vision about strong women is in game industry. A strong women is far more than breaking monsters necks over and over again by simple brute force.     Oh by the way, I don't understand why the developers cannot see their story has a fatal conflict with the game-play itself.     So, considering everything except the story it's a 6 or maybe a 7. But that's the rub. Everything that was so wonderfully vague about the end of the first game has been answered with utter banality. The amazing narrative decision that was simultaneously an enormously powerful character development moment and a hugely difficult moral conundrum that allowed you to reflect on the characters, and the Journey that you had taken, was reduced to a couple lines of dialogue, and never spoken of again. It is honestly the greatest failing of this game. It transformed something profound and meaningful and timeless into a bog standard story of the post-apocalyptic cycle of violence. And the worst part is, it doesn't even have anything meaningful to say about revenge. In fact it gets so caught up trying to make every character sympathetic that you have no idea how to feel in the end, you're simply left wondering, what the hell was the point of this? I was genuinely shocked when the credits rolled, I thought there was no way that was it. I felt nothing. That was such a negative experience, when those credits rolled, that I cannot give this anything other than a 0, avoid it at all costs, live in a bubble where this game never happened.

    The "inclusion" aspects of this had no bearing on the story and are completely overblown. There's one very minor incident of discrimination but it doesn't play any part on character development or the overall narrative so don't listen to anyone saying otherwise. You play as a lesbian and what appears to be a trans character, it's never really brought up.    … Expand

Having to play the murderer of one of the most liked and beloved character in the entire game industry... it's completely wrong, how could you possibly develop any kind of emotional bond with Abby. She killed hope. And having characters doing completely the opposite of what we learn them do from the first game is pretty bad storytelling. Sorry Neil, that was pretty bad.… Expand

The combat and stealth are fun, the weapons are cool, and the upgrade system and scavenging make for interesting game play. That's where the positives end. The game has such bad writing and storytelling that it has left everyone I know who loved and cherished the first game miserable and no one even wants to finish the game BECAUSE of the story. You know how bad a game has to be to make a huge fan of the series not want to play a game they waited 7 years for. Yeah, its that bad SPOILERS AHEAD.

    Imagine this, you build up a game as "diving deeper into Ellie and Joel's relationship" to kill Joel, one of your most beloved characters, in the worst way possible right at the beginning. We all knew Joel was going to die in this game, and yes he deserved it and it made sense. But to make Joel and Tommy look like complete idiots after surviving 24 years by following a random group down into a basement and giving them their real names.....when would they ever do that...On top of this, the game then makes Ellie watch Joel die and later tries to be like "Oh Abby really isn't that different from Ellie because she also sought revenge and her actions are justified and revenge never helps anyone" No. Just No. If Joel had walked into the operating room in the first game and the daughter of the doctor was standing right there, Joel would not have killed him. Plain and simple. The game tries so hard to paint Ellie and Joel as evil when Abby LITERALLY is shooting up her ownnnn peopleee at the raid of the island...You think Ellie would be shooting her friends from Jackson so easily if they turned on her????No because that's not in her character, or so I thought since you basically made Ellie out to be a selfish idiot and changed all of her character traits from the first game. Also, Ellie has remorse for killing others on her way to find Abby, throwing up after killing Mel. She doesn't want to kill innocent people but is given no choice, yet Abby literally never shows and remorse ever and only helps the 2 scars to make herself look better for Owen. Also helps him cheat on Mel......AND YOU EXPECT PEOPLE TO ENJOY PLAYING AS AND SYMPATHIZE WITH ABBY.....if you are going to make us play with the worst character ever...please advertise as such and not fake trailers to make it look like Joel would be in more of the game. Thank you for trashing one of my favorite games ever and now I can no longer go back and enjoy the first game knowing how bad the sequel is. P.S. the only way to fix this is a DLC stating this was all a dream and start from scratch.

    You know how easy it would be to write a story for this game. Start the same way, instead of offing Joel, have Ellie say I'm going to the hospital to find out for myself as she still feels deep down Joel is lying. She leaves a note saying where shes going and Dina goes with her to keep her safe. Joel finds note and decides to go after her because he is overprotective. CUT ABBY FROM THE GAME ENTIRELY AND THE WLF. Ellie runs into the scars blah blah blah, has to go through a city full of them. That's 10 hours of fun right there. She can get caught somewhere, perfect time for Ellie Joel flashback when shes knocked out. Joel arrives to save her. They start escaping, the whole Dina pregnant thing happens and Jesse joins the mix because he wants to protect Dina. Jesse dies saving Dina in some cool way and not by getting shot in the face basically off screen and never to be mentioned again. Maybe even have Joel get captured by the scars while helping Ellie and Dina escape. Joel gets taken to the cool island, the best part of the actual game, but make the island bigger and more like a jungle and another 10 hour section, have Dina stay behind at a safe location and promise to come back. Finally save Joel but maybe they are like a really messed up cult and had him get bitten so he slowly turns. While he is dying have him like cry and tell Ellie what happened at the hospital and that he was sorry. Finally Ellie has to shoot Joel and its all sad. Ellie gets help from the two scars to escape the island and they come back to Jackson. Ellie brings back Dina and they start a family and you fade to black with Ellie playing the song Joel played at the beginning to Ellie.

    I just wrote a better story in literally 15 minutes than what you came up with in 7 years....Garbage    … Expand

    the graphics are amazing the gameplay is similar to the first one except with a few added mechanics I really did not enjoy the story and that's unfortunate since it's a story driven game if it had a multiplayer I can see more replayability but as it stands now I would say better to buy used

    In my opinion, compared to the first part, it only had better visual graphics.
    Personally, I was going to buy the PlayStation 5 just because of this game. I'm really glad I didn't do this and I finished the game on my friend's device.
    When a game becomes so popular, it is expected that the creators of the game will pay attention to what people like, rather than trying to normalize a series of things that are not yet acceptable in society. That way, you'll only mess with the game version, and people will probably be skeptical of the company's next Game.    … Expand
