The story is complete garbage, not only does it fail completely to get the player emotionally involved but it’s also a complete disrespect to the previous game and it’s players. Characters are poorly written with almost no development and throughout the game. With that, the story gets pretty dull while playing it, to make matters worse, the decision of making the player play with Abby for half the game was terrible, because it feels like a chore and the story is even more dull than Ellie’s. Yes, naughty dogs marketing lied that Ellie was the main protagonists of the game. And I’m not even going to talk about the blatant LGBT/SJW propaganda that was clearly privileged over making a good well written story. I hope this will serve as an excuse to save 70€ because it’s clearly not worth it. 10/10 would not buy this flaming pile of garbage. to… Expand

If you liked LoU, give yourself a favor and don't even bother to watch even the spoilers nor the game itself. Avoid this game, does not worth a penny. Because what is important in this series is the story, and LoU2 destroys it. Animation, modelling, engine - all for nothing. You wanted us to care about her and realize that there's no such thing as good and evil in a world like that. Well you've failed miserably. After what she did so early on, she became irredeemable. We only resented her character, and forcing us to play as her was as disrespectful as that Manny spitting on Joel. I really feel like I wasted $60 when the rest of this game is phenomenal… Expand

I'm upset over the fact that Ellie is a LGBTQ+ character, hey that's great, she was even like that in part 1. What I am upset about is the lack of good storytelling a character development. I mean Abby basically does whatever she wants throughout the whole game and gets away scott free, by killing Joel, scarring Tommy and giving Ellie PTSD. She murders countless people and does not even pay once, how in the f*ck is that fair? Not to mention, when Ellie finally has the chance to take revenge she just what? Chooses not to? Because of the memory of Joel? F*ck that in thw first game, she was upset over being alone and does whatever she can to survive and takes care of Joel like her own father and the fact that he is brutally murdered isn't enough to take revenge?! And if you say "it's to break the cycle of violence" Then why the **** does Ellie murder countless people just to get to Abby huh? I mean how the **** does that make sense?! Goddamn it, Neil Druckman made such an amazing first game that I will remember for the rest of my life, but the fact that this made this horrible peace of crap shows me it was beginners luck I mean come on man, how many brain cells had to die in your head for you to think this was a game worth releasing and playing… Expand

Even though TLOU2 have a good graphic, details, and gameplay, ND too focused on their agenda and forget the very first thing that brought TLOU to be GOTY which is their storyline. Tbh I'm okay if Joel die, because he did a bad and selfish things on TLOU ending. However, that doesn't mean you have to killed him that easy, he's not that dumb to trust a complete stranger. If you remembered, during TLOU, he knew when someone tried to trick and ambush him. If you really want to kill Joel and fit in your agenda, at least dont make him looks like someone who just step into post apocalyptic world. If we compared both Ellie and Abby, the only winner is Abby, she get her revenge, still alive, got new community (new firefly), and new mother and daughter relationship which she should have realized that what Joel did in TLOU, was the same thing she did to Lev now. F-in hypocrite!

    ND, quick question, why bother developing both characters and their relationship in the first game if in the end you ruin them? Very disrespect Ellie and Joel character.    … Expand

For example when playing as Ellie, you are FORCED to: (1) kill dogs (2) murder screaming wailing people, whose loved ones mourn and cry in terror (making you feel bad about killing them) (3) murder a pregnant woman Whereas when you are playing as Abby, you are FORCED to (1) play and have fun with dogs (2) defend yourself against evil scary transphobic jungle people (3) save kids People who enjoy the story are confusing SKILFUL DIRECTION with CHEAP MANIPULATION. People seem to be forgetting the Abby is a fundamentally EVIL, IMMORAL character that doesn't deserve sympathy In Ellie's darkest moments, she: (1) attacks a woman who, aside from being involved in her fathers death, also further titillates and aggravates Ellie by saying Joel died like a little **** Reacting with rage and impetus, she beats the woman up with a metal pipe. However, Ellie is visibly traumatised and shaken by the event, she comes back and is clearly distressed and troubled (2) kills a woman who she later finds out is pregnant. When finding out, Ellie's hearing fades, she collapses and starts hyperventilating; clearly disturbed, remorseful and regretful In Abby's darkest moments, she: (1) shoots an old man in the knee, who just previously saved her life and was completely friendly and warm to her. She proceeds to take VISCERAL PLEASURE in beating him with a golf club, torturing him for so long that she eventually she grows exhausted and needs to remove her jumper. She delivers the killing blow right in front of a screaming girl who begs for his life (2) smashes a girls face, and upon finding out that the girl is pregnant, Abby takes immense PLEASURE AND SATISFACTION at the prospect of slitting her throat. Both girls enact their darkest moments under the impetus of revenge, but it is clear which character takes pleasure in the idea of inflicting pain. Once you understand this, any meaning the story holds completely withers away. TLOU2 is not a satisfying or entertaining story experience, nor is it a story that even needed to be told, given how many other movies, games, books, TV shows have conveyed the consequences of revenge theme better.… Expand

    This game makes you feel like everything you have done was for nothing. There is no reward, or sense of enjoyment, you are just moving along through a story that you don't feel engaged with, because all the elements you cared about were replaced with whathever fitted the developers agenda, and rhe end of the gameyou just feel empty and feeling you wasted your time.

    Me parece un excelente juego, buen gameplay, graficas, pero le pongo un 0 porque se tiraron a la basura el legado de la parte 1, le debieron haber puesto otro nombre y me lo creo, un spinoff y me lo creo, pero que se hallan tirado la historia de esa manera no es algo bueno, me parece el colmo... para mi sería un 9.5 si fuese un juego con otro nombre

    The gameplay and graphics was fine but the story is absolute rubbish!!! They destroyed the game!!! Part of the Abby game is unbearably boring. This character is repulsive, but they made us play for her. I hope they will not do the third part of the game.

Game mechanics still the same lousy and crappy no changes whatsoever only reason the first one was huge success is the story. No choice to let go off the dog, and was promise that they won't include dog killing on the game. Abby is such bad character and making Ellie the villian of the story, not only she spare the murderer of Joel but Ellie doesn't even get happy ending after all her suffering... I was just playing the game for the sake of completing it with no emotional connect to the story . I was made to play as a character that I didn’t like. All the hype was all about Ellie and Joel and they made trailers which gave us a feeling that Joel would still appear a lot. They carefully hided everything about Abby and gave their fans wrong expectations, as they were afraid it would affect the pre-order number. So the game itself is not a game that bad. I played it and could have given it a 8/10. But in my opinion Neil Druckmann and Sony do deserve the backlash. Their action and attitude before and after the launch of the game deserve a 0.… Expand

    It's a very disappointing game. I loved the first one but this one is no where near as good. The story is horrible and the game play was not updated at all. Everyone says the graphics look good, but the Witcher 3 on PC looks just as good and it's howany years old.

Yes she kissed somebody That was in the last of us dlc but it was a friendship kiss. I Thought that Ellie would date Sam but Something Happens something Happens to him. It looks like You sold your soul in the name of what? WTF dude? It's your child, and you killed it, I hope you know it. As a huge fan of the first part (which i completed several times) i had at first some doubts about the sequel, i was feeling like.. damn is it even a good idea to develop the second part? The first had a perfect ending because of giving the players a chance to imagine on their own what happened to the main characters and how they lived on. But when the rumors about the second part were confirmed, i thought to myself - ok, let's give it a chance. I'm now after fresh finishing the sequel, and really i can't believe I spent 50 bucks for this piece of **** Really. Now don't get me wrong, i love the dark climate, perfect graphics, open world, exploration, cutscenes, twists, etc. But... i guess even if all of these are close to perfect and probably best in the game industry, it's still not enough when it comes to really bad scenario.

    You literally ruined all what was beautiful in the game, and by what fans fell in love with the first part. I even think that the story of the sequel was originally different, but during these past 7 years something have happened, and all changed. You can see it even by watching the trailers. Fans now can assume that it was on purpous that You've put in the 'smart' way a Joel in the key scenes, so that fans would think he's alive during the whole gameplay and he helped Ellie in her journey. And yeah - everyone's now think that it was just a 'little' manipulation in video editing. But on the other hand You can also think that Joel originally was meant to be alive... Anyway - let's get to the point.

    There are at least dozens of ideas for better story for TLOU2 and still keeping alive both main characters. I understand the whole story, really I understand the point view, its idea, the path that Ellie was walking on, the cosequences of Joel's decisions, forcing a player to get into the shoes of the opposite site, and understand that each site had its motivations, rights, etc. I also understand what was going on with Ellie, and why the game was so depressful in the end, but its all something completely different in the core idea/plan for making this game, its way more complex on many fields, it talks about hate, love, tolerancy, forgiveness, changes, regrets, PTSD, choices you make and its consequences, etc. But guys - the way you served it, a chaotic mush and rollecoaster of emotions sprinkled with dumb decisions.

    Seriously what the **** was on your mind to let Ellie kill hundrets of people in order to avange the only person that truly cared about and looked after her, and in the end you decided - nah... let it go Ellie. I repeat - i understand your point view, but its really naive thinking she would really let Abbys go. And the moment with biting off Ellie's fingers... wtf? stupid, gross, dumb and unnecesairy. Similar as it comes to Joel - he was one of the smartest guys in game history ever. Thinking he would get ambushed so simply and in so dumb way (and Tommy too) is a ****ing joke. It looks like You completely didn't have an idea of how to move on with scenario. The same as it comes to Ellie - she acts as the Joel taught her, on the other hand she completely ignores those lessons, and for instance let her enemies live on (so they might have a chance to kill her in the near future). But even all of these are not as dumb as the idea to force players to play the WTF-out-of-nowhere character and move Ellie to the corner for the half of the game... JESUS F****** CHRIST.

    I hated Abby from the very first moment to the very last. The idea of getting into her shoes is understandable, but the way you've done it completely kills everything. At the end of her campaign i thought to myself - jesus ****ing christ... finally. And the scene where the players had to hunt for Ellie - the most beloved character, You are really the kings of stupidity and ignorancy. I don't know who approved this **** idea, but it's a ****ing joke.

    All those ratings of so called 'critics' were paid, we all know that now. The scale of the difference in critics and players ratings speaks for itself. The best and most beautiful thing in the game in my personal opinion were the flashbacks with younger Ellie and Joel. Now I would give someone a whole lot of money just to forget there is even something like TLOU 2. It completely ruined the story i fall in love with, the emotions, relations, journey, characters. It was a mission to save the world told from the perspective of the protagonist Joel; who lost his daughter in such an evocative fashion that I was crying 15 minutes into the game. This turns Joel into a hardened survivor who does not dwell on his emotions or the emotions of anyone else, all he has is theThe original last of us was a masterpiece in the delivery of it's story and themes. It was a mission to save the world told from the perspective of the protagonist Joel; who lost his daughter in such an evocative fashion that I was crying 15 minutes into the game. This turns Joel into a hardened survivor who does not dwell on his emotions or the emotions of anyone else, all he has is the need to survive.

    Ellie gives him a purpose, she represents the light in the darkness and in time teaches him to love again. It is a long journey and a hard task but at the end of that journey he loves her so much that he sacrifices the world for her. The game ends there. Joel never tells Ellie how much he cares for her but the player knows because actions speak louder than words. You are left knowing that your entire mission to save the world was for nothing but that Ellie is safe which is more important and Joel has found the ability to love again. It is a bitter sweet ending but there is definitely light in the darkness.

    Juxtapose this onto the last of us 2 a sequel which was always going to be judged next to the themes and story of it's predecessor. This is a petty revenge plot. There is no higher purpose. There is no saving the world. There is no character development. There is nothing but a shallow revenge story where the character Ellie you know and love from the first game degenerates into a cold, angry, 1 dimensional person who is an **** to everyone including the people she is supposed to care about most.

    Remember when I said actions speak louder than words? Ellie abandons everyone she is supposed to care about, degenerating from the character we knew and loved from the first game into a unlikable ****.

    This is a story driven game based upon relationships where the protagonist is dead and the light in the darkness has become cold, shallow and can't express a single emotion to the people closest to her. Maybe the other characters will take up the mantle and carry the story, relationships and character development. What do you think Dina?... Dina? I challenge anyone to name a single character trait that Dina has which sets her apart. Every new character you are introduced to in this game is shallow and generic. You barely care when they are unceremoniously executed.

    ...but wait let's spend the next 10 hours playing as someone we hate and get to know people that we know are already dead. I bet that'll be interesting. It's not. It's a waste of 10 hours. This entire game is a waste of time. It's a 22 hour long story driven game with a cookie cutter 1 dimensional shallow revenge plot but it's defining feature and what sets it apart from every other generic revenge plot is that the protagonist doesn't get revenge. How exquisite is that? the genius of storytelling is immeasurable. You spent 22 hours with nothing better to do than kill somebody and at the end you can't even do that because reasons or something.     This game is a horrible mess of poor presented story and unnecessary over the top emotional scenes. It does it’s predecessor injustice and should be taken off the shelf. The worst is how Naughtydog is responding to their fans, by ignoring the voice of loyal followers of the franchise and milking critics to write as they say. Pathetic and disappointing

The gameplay is last gen at best just like in The Last of us its very boring and rubbish gunplay etc. The story I have to agree with Skill up here, its the season 8 of Game of Thrones or The last Jedi/Rise of Skywalker of Star Wars its VERY VERY bad. They destroyed everything you like about the first masterpiece of a story! The the characters are just as bad, I mean that man with a girls name (Abby) was a major **** I have never hated a character so much!! and being stuck playing as him for ages really blew!! And Ellie was not the Ellie I knew from the first game at all. Seems like druckman didn't want that tlou was bigger than him, so he destroyed tlou. Also, the publicity of the game was a blatant fraud.     They did not improve on the gameplay from the first game which was made seven years ago. The story was badly written and felt at times like a cheap fan fiction. I feel like the director of the game has no idea of what made the first game so successful. Neil Druckmann is the gaming worlds version of M.Night Shyamalan.

    the performances of the mocap actors is great, even if the script is dreadful!

    the sound design is great!

    the graphics looks very good, really really dark and glum setting, it may not be my favorite taste but it fits the story they were attempting to tell, the artists spent a long time creating it and they did a good job doing so!

    there are very little bugs or glitches in the AI, the direction of the game is very poor in terms of being so liner but it runs smoothly for what it does!

    the story is awful and spiteful and a throw away attempt at best of trying to tell a sequel, but there is some really honest hard work put into it, and I think we must as critics remember that the artists have to follow the creative leads. so we cannot blame everyone for a game turning out badly, instead the people whom were at the helm of the ship guiding them into shark invested waters in a slowly leaking life raft with blood already in the water.

The graphics are amazing, The animations are amazing especially the ones when you are modding your gun. However the story is trash, what they did to Joel is disgusting and vile. The characters are not even acting like they did in the first game. So it makes no sense at all. Do not listen to the media because they only like it because it’s “progressive” 10/10 my ass. But this piece of trash deserves nothing else. Graphics and sound are beyond anything you have seen before on PS4 .. True. But that is it. Gameplay is fun at certain stages, but nothing you have not seen before. You are on a revenge trip for Joel and then you have to play as the one who killed Joel? Seriously WTF. Stopped 1 hour after this happens, cant force myself to play any longer. Imagine any series or movie, where suddenly the most annoying character becomes the center point of the story .. Joel’s death absolutely disrespectful for the fans and disgusting. They lie in the trailers we would see Joel in the present, that’s not professional and it seems they only care about money.
    Also they put Ellie like a badass girl looking for revenge, and we see all the contrary.
