This game is a massive let down, they have done dirty to our most beloved characters, no real character development(except for ellie at some point) and what a terrible endings, this games starts bad and ends even worse, now I have seen lots of games with bad endings but this ending is like a joke, seriously? Why are we forced to play as joel assassin and why the hell we are against ellie at some point in game , just I can't even understand, Couldn't just naughty dog understand before making it, god knows I'm really sad about what a mess of story writing they have done.
    People if you liked to be micah and then kill both john and Arthur well then this game is for you    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a story based game and this is why I give it the rating I have as the game chokes the already perfectly built story from the previous game. The old characters are unrecognisable and new characters are bleak and uninteresting.
    The whole game is a waste of time as nothing actually gets accomplished its 25 hours of pure garbage and waste of time. The only reason someone would enjoy this is if they were in denial of what happened during the game or they enjoy the gameplay only which is also MEH hasn't changed a lot from the first game. A few cosmetic innovations here and there however, it doesn't fix the awful story that is trying to teach you politics and how revenge is bad.
    Joel who we started this franchise with and as a matter of fact has carried this franchise to where it is now gets killed in the first HOUR!!! This was only done to pander to the SJW crowd and was executed in the poorest way possible to make Joel look like a little B****. Half the game is spent playing as a character that you don't even like and never end up liking by the need of the game no matter how hard the story writers try to make you feel sympathy for her. When she is the one that kills Joel. The ending is probably one of the worst in history of any entertainment product to push a message. 7 YEARS FOR THIS not worth one penny. Not even worth for Free.

    If you enjoy games that push messages left right and centre and have stories that are meaningless or that can be told better in other entertainment products and having 25 hours to waste. Then this is the game for you. 0/10 is the most fair a 1/10 would be pushing it. #F***NaughtyDog    … Expand

I'm saying this because the story is garbage. The last of us 2 killed the story to the first to represent female empowerment and LBGTQ. Personally I do think they need more representation all in all, but to force this element in the game just because you know critics will give it a 10/10 (if they don't their automatically homosexual, see above Metacritic score) is just disgusting. I **** you not, this game really opened my eyes on the integrity of critics. I'm disappointed, and this will be the last game I purchase from Naughtydog.… Expand

If you are a Last of us part 1 fans, you will feel physical pain and sick in the stomach when you play as Abby, after her brutally murder Joel(because he killed her father in part 1) within 100 mins into the game. Also worth mention that Joel just walk into a room full of strangers(Abby and her friends), without any hesitation or suspicious, and said to everybody, “Hey, I’m Joel.” and JUST LIKE THAT, get himself killed. :)

    The only true last of us is in my favorite games of all time. I was excited up until the first leaks came out. I had a small piece of hope that it would be at least somewhat good as I already expected Joel would probably die in the squeal just not in the way the leaks showed. The way Abby just kills Joel when at this point the player has no idea who Abby makes her insufferable. All the work they do to try and make her sympathetic does nothing. At the end of the game, I agree with Ellies's decision to still go after Abby cause 'it can't all be for nothing'. It does not make sense that she would almost just let Abby go, she had just killed a man to get information on where Abby is. The ending is inconsistent with Ellie's character, as the entire game she has been killing people to try and get to Abby, and it is stupid she did not just shoot her in the head. Ellie's ending is bad and she does not even get revenge if she had just killed her straight away all that would be different is she would still have 10 fingers. A waste of £160. Collapse… Expand

    The biggest mistake of the game is the delivery.
    As you play they give you flashbacks and they have flashbacks in the flashbacks.
    Worst offender is that they want you to sympathize with the enemy by giving you a flashback about 12 hours into the game when it is too late.

    With the **** up of delivery the story is ruined and it is a story driven game.
    Your gameplay has 0 effect on the story.

Joel could see an amubush from a mile away in the first game why did he trust random people who were trespassing in their territory and on top of that you are forced to play the character that killed Joel and I who went into the game blind was not expecting that. They could have let us play more of Ellie which I would have liked. I personaly could not sympathize with Abby Because of the way she killed Joel even after he saved her, she tortured him to the end which I was not happy about. Ellei after seeing Joel die goes on hunting the people who killed Joel but guess what she kills hundreds of people but when it comes down to killing that one person who killed Joel she lets her go. Horrible writting and not enough types of infected. Also the time skip did not have anything new to it , just some more vegetation. Overall it's an embarrassment to the pre-qual.… Expand

Pregnant woman (with a huge belly) goes on the raid - climbing, jumping, fighting. And by the way, she is a medic! Medic, Carl! One of the most important profession in post apocalypse. This would make sense ONLY if they if they were short on manpower, but... On their base were a lot of men and not-pregnant women. So yeaaah, sure, she'll go... About the end...     I rarely post about bad games, but wow!! Save your money!! Generally, I play games like this for the story. As long as it is a decent story line, I’m pretty happy and the hours of entertainment justifies the cost. This game however, was just not entertaining in the least.

This is disrespectful to the fans of the original and the beloved character of Joel which made the first game so great. The story is garbage, so badly written and made me not want to play to the end. I had to force myself to complete this identity politics ,feminist man hating crap. Joel is not playable and he is led out of character to his death ,then you are forced to play as the character who killed him and live through her backstory in an attempt to be on her side. This fails miserably and the ending is unsatisfying and just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It boggles the mind that they thought this would go down well. The fans wanted the playable story of Joel and Ellie to continue but what you get is Abby who i could not give a **** about. The only positive thing about this game is the graphics and combat. But i found even the gameplay dull after a while in this bleak dull world they created. Will someone please make a fan made sequel so i can forget this dog **** ever existed. In my mind there is only part 1, part 2 has yet to be made.… Expand

    Finished the game, i feel straight up insulted. at least we'll always have the first game to play when we want a story that's actually good

The game is about Ellie getting revenge and doesn’t even get her revenge Abby gets all the revenge lives while Ellie loses everything in the end this story is comparable to the season 8 of game of thrones leaves you absolutely frustrated.… Expand

After the first two hours of the game, I was hoping that Joel's death wouldn't be real, however, I was sadly disappointed with tears crying out for someone I dearly cared for. They did him, and the world they built around him, dirty. I'm hoping this game COULD see a remake because it was that terrible or if they try to make a part III, I'm hoping no one is going to buy it.     I do honestly believe graphics, scenery, music was good. But the plot was terrible. I get it it is about revenge and hatred and all, but Abby was no where near sympathetic. If you wanted players to be sympathetic towards Abby you should've put her side of story first and how it came this way. But instead all I saw was death in front, and then story of the past of why she did it. The infamous scenery could've been better by locking Ellie and not let her see the death up front and just see the dead body afterwards. The storyline was epic failure. If it was poorly made, everyone would give at least 6 - 7 for it. But it the story was made terribly in purpose. It's hard to make a good story, but it sure is easy to make terrible one that makes the readers/ players upset. U disgust me.    … Expand

    sinceramente é triste ver uma história maravilhosa e cm tanto potencial ser desperdiçada e jogada no lixo, por lacração e pressa, claramente o jogo e o enredo foram hushados, cheio de bugs, gameplay mto boa gráficos fantásticos, com alguns "borrões" em algumas partes, e uma historia deplorável

    They just killed Joel who was the most loved character of the last game in the first two hours, and in the end you don't identify with Abby not even because the game tried to do it.

    i waited too long for it and now i just feel disappointment...graphics..are amazing physics is amazing too but story..is sounds **** what did i really wanted was a good story.. if you didnt play the first chapter or you just care about    im really disappointed after playing the first chapter
