    what a disappointment. paid $130 for an interactive movie with a pathetic story masked by the most annoying film grain on the planet. the trailers were full of lies, they changed everything we saw.

    Во время прохождения было скучно, финал и всё предшествующее действо очень расстроило, первая часть как будто пропала, ее больше нет.

    Boring game play, way too much SJW nonsense, nothing relatable to the characters, the cut scenes are uninteresting, completely unfaithful to the original masterpiece. Returning my copy. It seems every facet of our lives are being inundated with SJW rubbish.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Absolutely terrible, boring and lazy plot, betraying all the characters we have come to know in TLOU previously. You will see all the online critics excuse the low user score as reviews bombing by haters and that people who reviewed this have very few hours into the gameplay so their opinion does not matter. No, I don't need to sit through the entire 3 hrs of Batman v Superman to feel that the movie is boring and pointless. The plot of this game makes characters act completely out of character like Joel who were always overly cautious and suspicious of others suddenly declare his infamous name in front of a bunch of militia; or Ellie who has zero internal struggle in morality when it comes to killing off dozens of people who merely associated to Abby who murdered Joel, but when it comes to the actual perpetrator of the crime, Abby, somehow Ellie feels conflicted, despite Abby even bit off two fingers of hers and render her no longer able to play guitar. Well-written and complex characters that we have grown to love from the first game is killed off for cheap shock value. I never disagree that Joel should die. But his death should complete his arc and requires more buildup. Anyone can spend 5mins and think of a better story buildup than this unprofessional writing.

    Besides, while you can claim the review score is biased from the review bombing from haters, you can very well say the same for the online critics who are used as a marketing tool for the industry. Therefore for me it sounds like a convenient excuse for the overwhelming negative reviews. By passing off negative comments as "haters" and "bigots" for reasons against LGBT, you never have to address how bad this game truly is.

    What a waste of my time this game has been. I can't believe I actually waited nearly 7 years for this piece of trash. I actually hate myself for playing and completing this game, even ruining the replayability for the first game for me since now I know how trash the ending is. But what do I know right? I am just a cis male with a fragile masculinity who obviously hate the game for the fact that Ellie is a lesbian and Abby looks like a dude with only 3 days in after the game is released, so my opinion doesn't matter.    … Expand

    Graphics and animations are really good, it's really amazing how they achieved this on the console.

    I rewatched trailers many times while waiting for release...

    But the story and characters are way too bland, which makes playing it really boring.

    Don't waste your money on this if you still can.

    This game is a massive kick on the balls to it's predecessor, not only the story is **** bad written and boring, but the entire set feels forced with SJW propaganda worthy of an LGTB parade, this is supposed to be a serious game with actual impact on characters but it doesn't even let you kill the main antagonist, truly a disgrace to the first game.

They made Joel go out so easy but that’s wrong he would have at least took out a couple on his way out. Also not to mention they didn’t even put effort into his death mean look at Tommy he’s leaning up against a dresser looking in Abby’s direction and didn’t notice she grabbed the shotgun!?!? They just ruined one of the greatest games of all time. Plus it’s so based around the LGBT community. Okay okay Ellie is lesbian you don’t have to remind us every 30 seconds. The entire game was based on revenge for our loved character Joel and we didn’t even get to avenge his wrongful death. My suggestion to them would be to make a DLC telling a different story where Joel doesn’t die. That’s the only thing that can save them now.… Expand

    the writing is awful, the visuals are okay but that's what you're SUPPOSED to do so it's not really anything to reward them over the gameplay and mechanics have very little changes, some of the mechanics are outright useless but its not something really amazing. the only part of this game truly new and something to talk about is the animations, but seeing as    could've been better.

    After almost 5 years of waiting, the game turned out to be a huge disappointment. The story was just hollow, and the ending was just so terrible. Naughty Dog you really did a great job on ruining the franchise.

    8 hours into the game and it is amazing. Great story and characters in combination with good gameplay. I would definitely recommend this as one of the top 10 games for PS4. Looking forward to Last Of Us III on PS5.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Played and absolutely loved part 1. I don't know what they were thinking for part 2. This game was most noted for its story. While the graphics and game play are awesome, the story falls completely flat. It's almost like the developers didn't play the first part of this game. There is no way Joel would have entered that space with that many strangers and just introduce himself. That makes no sense, it was just done because the plot needed it to happen. They were too lazy to think of a creative, sensible way to kill him that was in line with his character.

    Joel's death isn't the real problem however, while the way it happened is stupid, it does carry emotional weight. The big problem is that there is absolutely zero pay off. Joel is not avenged. So what was even the point of his death? It leaves a great feeling of dissatisfaction as his death is rendered meaningless. He was killed just for the shock value and that's it.

    I just don't know how they got it so wrong after first getting it so right. The thing that made the first game so successful was the bonding of the characters, that is what worked. They completely missed the mark on this one. Amazing graphics and really solid game play can only take a game so far. If that's what you're interested in then definitely play this game. But if you think it'll be as compelling a story as its predecessor, think again.    … Expand

    A masterpiece from start to finish, never before has a game made me invest so much reflection on the choices and cycles of violence my character perpetrates. I feel emotionally drained after playing it but I'm weirdly keen to do it all over again, such is the draw of the world and the frantic stealth action.

On the other hand the graphics are beyond beautiful it can at times put red dead redemption 2 to shame. Combat is still the same which was fine as well.

    If you have good memories of the last of us part 1, I highly recommend that never play this game.
    Just save your money for other good work.

Graphic is beautiful, animations are really good and the soundtrack is amazing, the gameplay is the same as the first game, the new mechanics (like the jump button) don't bring anything new to the gameplay and it gets kinda boring. BUT I can't give this game above 0 because the plot is so contrived, nosense and disrespectful that it's impossible, as a great fan of the first game, to give this STORY DRIVEN game somewhat credit.

    This is not the TLJ or GoT S8 of videogames, this is worse.
    The plot is a mess from the beginning because it's a dreadful retcon of the first game ending, saying that the Fireflies would have created a vaccine and saved the world, when it's clear throughout the first game that they're just an incompetent and dangerous group of terrorists.
    All the og characters are completely different, they range from their true personality to their new one in a second, they're lunatic and make A LOT of stupid decisions, only to make the plot move forward. All the death scenes are so random and meaningless that the player reaches a point where he doesn't care anymore.
    There are a lot of new characters and the game tries to make us empathize with each one using a lot of subplots in the span of 20/25 hours, making the complete plot even more contrived.
    The message of the game is "revenge bad", but fulfilling one's desire of revenge is ultimately rewarded, because Abby (killer of Joel) gets revenge for her dad (firefly surgeon) and in the end she gets away with it and reunites with the fireflies, while Ellie loses everything and everyone in her path for revenge, and in the end she spares Abby, remaining lonely, defeated and hollow.
    If you're a fan of The Last of Us, you will hate this, and you'll come to hate the writers.    … Expand

    This game is a disaster. The character development is flat, and I don't care about Abby, even Ellie. The gameplay and artistic value had huge potential but, I felt that it was decent this time around. They should have kept the narration and flow simple but effective.

I have no problem with the idea of slipping into the role of the supposed antagonist of a story and i also don't have a problem with dark truths. What i have a problem with is trying to subvert expectations by creating the opposite of a hollywood happy ending and falseGreat ideas, baaad execution. Yes, an apocalyptic world is a hard and gruesome one and humans are vile creatures, but humans are also empathetic, hopeful and have the ability to act morally. With humans there is always darkness and light, but the light that was so beautifully interwoven into the harshness of the first game is missing entirely. This is Game of Thrones Season 8 and Glenn's death in the walking dead all over again.… Expand

    I've never taken the time to critique a game, but yet here we are lads on behalf of my disappointment. Yes it possesses great graphics and gameplay. However, it is such a hot garbage of a story that no gameplay nor graphics can save you from this disappointment 7 years in the making. This abomination is a disgrace to its predecessor. If I could rate it lower I would most certainly do forI've never taken the time to critique a game, but yet here we are lads on behalf of my disappointment.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
