I do not know what was in the director's head but the way how Joel was killed and the fact that for the rest of the game you are forced to play his killer - Abby makes me sick. How the **** someone was thinking that this would be a good story. I am so upset. I wish i could refund.… Expand

    1 point for decent graphic and 1 for optimization. Story is awful, the game is too bloody and there is too much violence in it. The characters, like the story, have degraded compared to the first part. Don't play or buy this game.

    Как всегда очень крутая детализация окружения от ноти дог! Игра очень сильно погружает в свою атмосферу. Локации интересные в которых интересно перестреливаться и стелсить. Анимации на самом высоком уровне. Каждое оружие ощущается по своему, импакт отличный от попаданий. Ближний бой очень сочный. По сюжету вопрос нет. Мотивация главных героев для меня лично понятная.     As a diehard fan of the first one, this was the worst disappointment ive ever had in my gaming career.
    1/10 for the technical aspect, well done to anyone involved as an artist/designer.
    Its just that the story is so bad, that i never want to play it again. The characters are boring and have nothing to do with the ones from part 1, except visually of course. The world building is nonsensical and boring. The advertisement and those trailers ND showed before had nothing to do with the final product. Outright fraud in my opinion. In no way is this a organic continuation of the first one, or a opportunity to reconnect to the characters youve grown to like.

    All those praises from the "official gaming journalism" just shows how much those is worth these days. If i could have gotten my money back, i definitly and gladly would have given the game back. Naughty dog hasnt seen a single dollar from me since then, and they likely never will again.    … Expand

I don't blame the agenda for this, I blame the fact when you play as the character who killed your favorite character from the first part. When a screenwriter makes Abby understand, it's disgusting. All attempts to justify Abby are worthless. I was sincerely glad when her friends died. Since the obsessed with revenge was NOT ELLIE, but ABBIE. WHO PREPARED FOR REVENGE MOST OF ALL? ELLIE OR ABBIE?     Uma porcaria de jogo. Ainda bem que eu não gastei 1 real nesse lixo, peguei emprestado e parei de jogar na metade de tão tedioso que é. História mal feita, cheia de furos e coincidências, personagens descaracterizados, personagens mal usados. Jogo feito pra agradar críticas e não aos fãs do The Last of us 1, só vendeu bem porque os fãs do 1 foi no hype. Uma decepção total.

I knew from the beginning that Joel would die anytime soon, so it wasn't really a suprise to me. If Joel would've been kept alive throughout the entire game, the storyline would've been so much less interesting. In other words, it would've been exactly like the first Last Of Us game. Abby and all the other new characters were NOT badly written. Getting to know completely new characters does not have to be a bad thing, especially with (for example) Abby's backstory. The only thing I have to agree on is that the ending could've been a bit different due to the logic behind it (or lack thereof), but that's still not a reason to hate this masterpiece of a game. The graphics are a 10/10. The Last Of Us Part II is one of the best games I've played.… Expand

    At first, I was angry after Joel died. I wasn’t even sure if I’d play through the whole game. I felt angry, shocked and…confused.

    I think it shows how Naughty Dog wrote an amazing script.

    Characters had interesting background stories. The diversity was great and Ellie and Abby were two strong females leads.

    My only issues is the redundancy in the gameplay. I felt I was doing the same thing over and over again. If there’s another chapter, I’d think about changing the gameplay or controls.

    To conclude, I recommend this game to anyone who likes a good story.    … Expand

    Eu não gosto de jogos desse estilo, mas a história é fantástica, os personagens cativam e os inimigos dão mais pavor do que os infectados do game em certa parte, não gostei do final mas isso não é um jogo de escolhas então ok né, vale muito a pena jogar para quem quer ver e se emocionar com uma boa história

    LOU II podría haber sido una pieza audiovisual en la que incluyeran el conflicto entre las dos facciones principales y los gráficos mejorados, y los dos protagonistas en medio, y hubiera seguido siendo un 10 para la crítica. En vez de eso el juego experimenta y destruye cualquier concepción previa de los protagonistas (aunque eso suponga enfrentarnos a realidades que no nos gustan). Para mí, el concepto de juego "sobre el odio", aunque pretencioso para algunos críticos, es perfecto. Y sé que es perfecto porque un año después de haberlo jugado sigue pasando por mi cabeza, maravillándome lo mal que me lo hizo pasar, lo desacuerdo que estuve con Ellie, lo que sentí cuando vi que, desde otro punto de vista, los buenos pueden ser otros. Otras críticas hablan de que los SCARS no tienen sentido en el mundo de LOU2. Para mí el mundo de LOU2 es una visión casi más radical que otros mundos apocalípticos como el de the walking dead, pudiendo retorcerse el fanatismo sin límites.

    Llevo 30 años viendo películas,series, libros, videojuegos. Y LOU2 es una de las piezas audiovisuales que más se ha quedado en mi memoria, más me ha afectado y más me ha hecho reflexionar. ¿No es eso ser el juego perfecto?

    Ah, y luego están los gráficos. Brutales. Y la jugabilidad. Sólo hay que ver videos en Internet para ver que, igual que Red Dead 2, este juego no va a ser el modelo de los juegos que vengan próximamente porque están demasiado adelantados al resto de desarrolladoras.

    Lo más triste de todo es que, a lo mejor, adaptan la serie debido a las críticas, invirtiendo decisiones que para mí son fundamentales. Estoy de acuerdo en que yo puedo estar equivocado, como Druckmann (de hecho hay muchísimas críticas negativas a este juego), pero hace falta gente tan valiente, y equipos con tanta libertad creativa como Naughty Dog.

The choice to flip perspectives into the character that you intend to hate and build an in-depth, emotional background around is one of the most interesting and creative choices I've seen in a game in years. I feel that many gamers who disliked this experience have a difficult time parsing their emotions. Having played through both installments in the series twice now, I still do not understand why people tend to show so much affection towards Joel, but save none of those feelings for Ellie. I am reading nothing but disdain for her character, which is odd given that she has far more gravity in the story, and far more character development over time. Yes it is difficult to grieve a character you have grown a love for, but instead of feeling so possessive over a fictional character and despising the developers for "killing him" (y'all, he's not a real guy. it's gonna be ok), instead try dissecting these feelings and WHY you feel them. The Last of Us is a story of complexity - there is no black and white. Every survivor in this universe has a story to be heard, and I so enjoyed being given the experience of seeing a new, fully rounded perspective in this post-apocalyptic world. I truly think that this game will be regarded as one of the best games of all time. Once gamers grow up and acknowledge the consciousness of the writing, they will see that not ever game needs to have a Capital H Hero and Capital V Villain. The game reflects compassion, deep sorrow, vengeance, endurance, pain in a way none of us can truly know and I think that's what people are most frustrated with. The feelings are bigger than them. And that, to me, is what makes the game very powerful. And to those complaining about "SJW" politics, grow up and go outside. Meet people. We can have one gay character in a broad sea of games featuring straight, white characters.… Expand

Ну и сюжет про месть, чуть лучше, чем в любом Assassin's Creed, а в том же Rogue он даже лучше.     The visuals, audio, and gameplay were the best in this generation. However, the story, pacing and character development were disappointing. These were the qualities that made the first game a masterpiece. Graphics and gameplay get old, but a good story is forever. A sequel was never necessary.

    ill start with what I liked, amazing graphics, better combat than the first game and great acting. story was complete dog **** I could easily tell what part of the game was forced ( the whole thing) and didn't make sense as a story. They need to stop pushing that weird homo agenda and stick to making normal, good games

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game play was easily the best part. I enjoy the world created by the developers for this series. The graphics are outstanding. This will be a spoiler review for major plot points in the story. For a story driven game the story didn't do it for me. In order to hit the beats they were going for, they had to have characters acting uncharacteristically. For me, this was a dealbreaker. The game stops half way through and switches perspective making you play the last 3 days again as a different character with no connection to the previous 3 days gameplay. This truly kills the pacing of the game. Abby is somewhat glorified in this game too. We're told that her dad was a good person when, in TLOU1, he was willing to murder an unconscious child for the slim hope they could create a vaccine which, looking at the world created, would do very little to solve the problems of that world. The faction wars would still exist, clickers would still rip people's faces off and blotters would still be around. It would solve the issue of spores and bites but since gas masks already deal with the issue of spores, a vaccine wouldn't do much for the world. But Abby's dad saved a zebra, doesn't that make him a good person .... oh look Abby plays fetch with a dog that you are forced to kill, isn't Abby great and Ellie wrong here for killing this poor dog. The narrative of the game basically says that violence begets violence and the cycle of revenge never ends. Interesting premise, but Abby gets her revenge and gets to walk away. Ellie, on the other hand, loses Joel as he's murdered in front of her despite her pleas for his life. Loses Jesse, loses Dina and the baby and ends the game 2 fingers down and unable to play the guitar. Abby literally severed her last connection to Joel and Ellie let's her live. Even when she has her underwater, seconds away from drowning, she has a flashback of Joel and suddenly decides, hey I know I've travelled all the way to find you in different states twice now and even though you threatened to murder my pregnant girlfriend even after finding out she was pregnant and you killed my surrogate father and bit of 2 fingers and I've killed tens of people making my way to you I'll just let you go now. Given what Ellie has done and what has happened to her to get to this point, it's very jarring to just stop there, quite literally seconds away from completing her goal.

    This game suffers in the same way that a lot of movies these days suffer. They value theme over execution of the story. They have plot points they want to hit and they'll hit them no matter what the consequences are for characterisation. I think this story could have been done better. I'm sure of it. Thats the purpose of the writers. To make it fit in with how characters have been established and to make decisions seem logical. They didn't do it with this narrative.    … Expand

    The game keeps bringing up unnecessary flashbacks that nobody cares about which was so annoying, this game is an indirect slap in the face, how can a prequel differ so much from it’s sequel? They literally took out the most important character at the beginning of part II. What is wrong with the game developers, did they drink too much? I’ve literally overhyped 7 years for a game and then we get this! Naughty Dog completely wasted their time developing this pit-like game! A lot of fans are angry with Naughty dog for this crap!     Great graphics, great gameplay. Story wasn’t the best, as a lot was lacking in the sense of some characters development. Bought this game upon release now never picked it up again after the first play through. Not even worth selling as it’s now going on eBay brand new and sealed for 7 quid. On the plus side it does make a good coaster

    In conventional narrative fiction, there are ‘good’ characters and there are ‘bad’ characters. While this structure is good at creating easy to consume stories with likeable protagonists, it is not a true reflection of reality. In real life, no one is entirely evil, and no one is entirely good. Everyone has their own motivation for why they are acting the way that they are.

    What i love about this game is that every character acts in a way that they think is justified. In doing so, conflict is created and characters in different groups all begin to hate each other. The game does a fantastic job of showing how even though we humans may split ourselves into different tribes and groups, fundamentally what we all want is the same. The game’s message is that violence is never the way to resolve conflict, as no one ever wins when violence is involved. Overall i would highly recommend you play this game. It had a profound impact on me, and it very likely will have a profound impact on you too. Don’t let the bad reviews discourage you. Allow yourself to come to your own conclusion about this incredible game.

    ***THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF MY SPOILER REVIEW!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!***

    At the end of the first last of us game, Joel made an extremely difficult and consequential decision. He decided to save Ellie, and as a result prevented the creation of a vaccine and caused the deaths of millions of people around the world and possibly doomed humanity to extinction. This act was incredibly selfish and could easily be interpreted as evil.

    This game deals with the consequences of that decision. It explores the paths of two characters, Ellie and Abby, characters who were on different sides of Joel’s decision. Joel kills Abby’s father, who was trying to create a vaccine that would save humanity. This is something that Abby cannot forgive him for, and so she seeks revenge and murders him. From Abby’s perspective, Joel is the villain and she is entirely justified in her decision to kill him.

    Ellie obviously loves Joel, as he saved her life. In response to his murder, she views Abby as the villain, and seeks revenge on her and her crew. She travels to Seattle and ruthlessly murders all of Abby’s friends in her pursuit of justice. She becomes increasingly deranged throughout her campaign, and you as the player are forced to do some incredibly morally reprehensible things as her. I found this to be incredibly thought provoking, as it demonstrates how one violent act begets another, how the cycle of violence is continuous and how it is very difficult to break.

    For the second half of the game, you are forced to play as Abby. She realises that killing Joel hasn’t actually made her feel any better about the loss of her father. She realises that violence will not make her feel better, and she refuses to join the WLF’s attack on the seraphites. She instead decides to save the lives of two seraphite kids who have been shunned by their community. This segment of the game shows how all humans, regardless of tribe (WLF or seraphite), are fundamentally all the same. The war between the WLF and Seraphites at the end of Abby’s journey shows that no one wins in war, and everyone loses. It demonstrates that violence is never the way to resolve disputes.

    Right at the end of the game, when Ellie confronts Abby, she realises that killing Abby won’t bring Joel back, and that Abby’s motivations are just as valid as hers. She spares Abby, and the game ends.

    While i understand much of the criticism directed at this story, and i recognise that it isn’t for everyone, i had an absolutely incredible experience playing this game. At its core, the game teaches us that violence is never the correct way to handle a situation. It does this by exposing the player to some of the most horrific violence imaginable, to demonstrate the severe consequences that it can have. If you have made it this far into my review, i just want to say thank you. I don’t normally write reviews for games, but this one stuck with me for a while after i finished playing it, and i had to get this off my chest. This game absolutely deserves all of the game of the year awards it received, and is easily one of the best games ever created.    … Expand

    the last of us parte 2, assim como o primeiro, são os jogos mais tocantes e bem construídos que já joguei, não há palavras para descrever a perfeição destas obras-primas. ambos jogos marcantes com histórias inesquecíveis, e ainda não estou levando em consideração os critérios técnicos e gráficos fabulosos de ambos os jogos.

    Beautiful game. Graphics are so good. Story is awesome. characters is so good, ı dont like some characters but is so good. every characters has a mimc, thanks to this ı watch cutscene like a movie. gameplay sometimes repeat but ıt is entertaining. you can change the gameplay with bombs, or you can sneak also. perfect game by noughty dog

    Amazing game!
    The story is great, with unpredictable twists and I felt real attachment to the characters. Graphics are great and I did not experience any bugs. This has to be the best sequel to any game I've played.

    People that gives it a poor rating either did not play it or expected a very specific ending. It's childish to rate something poorly because it did not end how you expected it to.

    This is truly the best game I have ever played. I am straight, I have a wife, but I am absolutely calm about what happens in the game. Guys, we need to take a deeper look at the situation and draw our own conclusions, and not duplicate someone else's opinion, which has been imposed for many many years. This is a diamond, such games can be counted on the fingers. Masterpiece!

    I loved the game! To me, the uncommon structure of the game and its characters only adds to the overall narrative and ideas. At the end of the game, I felt deeply empathetic for everyone and I felt that I have a lot to think about.

I just finished this game, and oh boy, I don't really care about what dumb people think, this is a masterpiece, not a game about "revenge is bad duh" but a game tha shows you that everyone in the world has a diferent pov and nobody is wrong, for me, really the only mediocre part is the gameplay that didn't change basically nothing from the first one, but it still is good, I rarelly found bugs, and when I did it was because I was really searching for it, Joel's death at the start of the game was harsh, but in this world, no one is special, and no one should expect to be let alone after doing what joel did, some parts yes have a strange writing, but after thinking, it all makes sense, abby isn't the villain and neither ellie, joel wasn't the villain and neither the fireflies, the last of us world is gray and has infinites tones, this is what makes this game so amazing, the first game is about love, this is about hate, both show you not that love is good hate is bad, but that everything is conected, love and hate are two sides of the same coin, never a game did what tlou2 did to me, the last two hour were just pain whitout end, people really should give this game a second chance to see that this isn't at all a less than 5/10 game… Expand

    Es un juego increíble, no entiendo las críticas negativas, he jugado el primero justo antes de darle a este y es muy continuista, respecto a lo de Ellie, es bastante predecible si jugaron el dlc Left Behind. La jugabilidad y el nivel de detalles de naughty dog es increíble. Para mí es el juego del año sin duda.

    I had to scroll past 5-6 pages just to find a review that wouldn’t be a 0. That’s just a sign that this game continues to be “review bombed” by insecure, childish, immature, pervy, closeted, sheltered neckbeards who were clearly disappointed that the game creators decided not to oversexualize the main characters and make them a bit more controversial that what they are used to in theirI had to scroll past 5-6 pages just to find a review that wouldn’t be a 0.     This is a true sequel. Some might not like it, but it outclasses the first game in many ways. Even if you aren't super fond of the story (I personally enjoyed it), it is a technical masterpiece. This is a video game that makes other games feel like video games, if that makes sense.

The Game lacks a Lot of dynamics that the first part has, and You just keep going from point A to point B. But I really liked how is showed Abby's past.     The game is absolutely beautiful in all aspects (story, gameplay, MUSIC!!!). Even though I didn't like some decisions and some acts of the main characters, it's still a hell of a rollercoaster. A masterpiece with outstanding musical compositions from Gustavo Santaolalla. Thanks, Naughty Dog!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
