I'm a huge fan of The last of us and to say this game is a disappointment is an understatement, Neil Druckmann should be ashamed about lying to the thousands of fans by adding Joel in the trailers only to find you get zero proper gameplay with him as he dies in the first 2 hours. Joel is a character that trusts no one except those who he holds extremely close such as Ellie and Tommy. We know from the first game that Joel and Tommy crossed many different people in there first twenty years following the outbreak but yet Joel and Tommy walk straight into this group of people like idiots resulting in Joels death. The thing that made the first game so amazing was the relationship between Joel and Ellie and the directors just throw it away. There is zero character development of Ellie in this game if anything her character becomes less interesting and unlikeable. One of the major issue is that you are forced to play as Abby the woman who kills Joel , for approximately half of the game. This is done in an attempt to make you feel sympathy for this character but it simply does not work. Playing as Abby is horrendously unenjoyable and as well as this you already know where the character ends up as you have played Ellies version of the same 3 day period meaning that even if you were to care about Abby at all you know nothing can happen to her. In my opinion Abby is given the better weapons in an attempt to make her playthrough more enjoyable but all this does is take away from Ellies half of the game. I enjoyed some of the new characters such as Jesse, Dina , Lev and Yara but once again Druckmann chooses to kill off some of these main characters as if its nothing. For example Jesse is killed stopping him from building up any traction as a truly memorable character. Aside from the story my game was riddled with bugs i.e characters walking through brick walls, falling through the map and glitchy cutscenes. This game is a disservice to the fans who have been waiting seven years to see Joel and Ellie in action again and Neil Druckmann needs to apologise to the fans for destroying this long awaited sequel.… Expand

    Su jugabilidad es muy buena ofreciendo momentos de verdadera tensión en combate, pero ni eso es capaz de salvar la pobre trama desarrollada al principio la cual finalmente rompen al final del juego, intromisión demasiado forzada de personajes y abandono de otros que venían desde antes, en otras palabras una historia con gran potencial arruinada por lo políticamente correcto....     The graphics and setting were a solid 8. Everything else was complete and total garbage. I have read off-brand dystopian teen-romance novels that hold a plot together more cohesively. I made a Metacritic account solely for the purpose of expressing how disappointing this game is after the previous one.

    Если бы была возможность купить только первую половину игры, то так бы я и сделал. Она мне понравилась. В отличии от второй. Играть далее не было никакого желания, поэтому я просто понизил сложность и пробежал сюжету как можно быстрее. Тот персонаж за которого мне пришлось играть во второй половине не вызывал ни симпатии ни сочувствия(как и его окружение).     Thanks for keeping the negative stereotype of bisexual people being disloyal cheaters, Naughty Dog, that really helps me out in my life as someone who is openly bisexual.

    Also, stop using 'subverting expectations' as a shield for bad writing because when someone actually properly subverts expectations no one actually believes you because you've misused the phrase too much.

    I don't know how a group of people can go from crafting an amazing story and characters in the first game and flush it all down the drain with the second game.     Abby storyline, builds a connection with the shehulk we all know and hate. If done properly we might like her. We can see her struggles and the impact joels actions had on her life.

    Next: Abby goes on a perilous journey, tracking down joel, learning a lot about herself along the way. Meets new people, has new experiences, hears new stories.

    End: abby reaches Jackson and sees joel and tommy on patrol, not knowing its them. As joel and tommy are walking down the road, abby pops out from behind something to ask questions about joel. I love the way player need to scavenge to create better equipment, to find collectibles, etc. This is positive points in this game. And that's it. Nothing more. At all.

    They totally f****d up the story. In the begin game gave to you motivation to fight, motivation for revenge. And, when you think you are going to take, what you want, they said: "Wait! Play another f****g character. That one, who killed the main character of previous game." I'm talking about Abby.

    I don't know about other people, but I did not feel sympathy for this character. I wanted only one: to skip second part of the game and go to the end, when Ellie will revenge for Joel.

    In TLOU we don't have any LGBT stuff, in DLC they said that Ellie is part of this community. Honestly I don't see anything, that will point at this (even when silly little schoolgirls, who don't understand anything in feelings yet, kissing each other), but if developers decide so - as you wish.
    But TLOU2 has whole LGBT post-apocalyptic world. The world is dying and the only thing that is important, by thoughts of developers, is same sex relationships?! WTF?!
    And during whole game they pointing with this. Pointing, pointing, POINTING! You are such an annoying ass, Naughty Dog!

    I am very sad to write this... The part 1 was more than a game, it was the experience of a lifetime. The part 2 was the greatest dissapointment i ever had. Games are supposed to be enjoyable and unfortunately this one was not. I just hope now i can forget it ever existed.

Un claro ejemolo de esto es Sailor Moon, y con sus personajes lgbt, en ningún momento se sienten forzados y cada quién tiene una personalidad propia, otro ejemplo podría ser Life is Strange, con personajes mejor construidos y bien implementados.     The graphics and the voice acting in this game is definitely great. Though there is not a lot of improvement in gameplay, it was only a few new things that you can do. The story though started great, but after that one scene, it went all downhill. Overall, there are a few good things about this game that can't be denied, but the story makes it hard and unbearable to play.

I consider myself a tolerant person, but the there is some **** called exaggeration, which Naughty Dog guys forgot the meaning of. First two hours in game : Joël, the gruff character who opened up to a teenager he slowly considered to be his daughter, forming an incredible bond of love and care, dies. In the most stupid way possible. He used to be careful about everything to survive, no matter how immoral it could be, but somehow he gives his identity to his murderer after slaughtering humanity's last hope of a vaccine. Simply idiotic and inconsistent.

    So the story is resumed to a vengeance trope (because who would want to witness an interesting, gut-wrenching and beautiful story in a TLOU game?) against an uninteresting villain we are supposed to relate through brutal scenes. But that's it. There is nothing more being developed. At no point the director's promises are respected : no questioning redemption nor forgiveness, you just drag some characters to the next cutscene where someone gets butchered. No control or decision on actions, the player means nothing. So how are we supposed to think about redemption or forgiveness if none of our actions actually matter ?

    The best decision to take is actually not to buy the game. Because, unfortunately, fake positive reviews from companies glorify this joke and will still convince some people to give it money.    … Expand

    Solid gameplay. Excellent setting with an audience of people that love the first game. All ruined by mediocre writing and some of the least sympathetic characters you'll ever see in a video game. What's worse is that you're forced to play as that character and the writers seem to expect you to be all lovey dovey for them.

Не подумайте я не имею ничего против таких персонажей когда они уместны, интересны и хорошо прописаны. Элли из симпатичной остроумной девчонки стала брюзжащей глупой и всем недовольной хабалкой. Реализм тоже пошел прогуляться... Когда девочки по 40кг таскают мужиков по 80-90кг (примерно на глаз) как пушинок удерживая толком одной рукой. Они убили Джоэла одного из главных героев от чьего лица велось повествование и собственно которому мы сопереживаем и испытываем иные чувства и заменили на абсолютно деревянного персонажа в лице девушки чьё имя я не запомнил даже после прохождения. . И я бы понял если это превратили во что то интересное. Но использовать потенциал заведомо любимого персонажа на то что бы сделать говёненькую завязочку... Мда) Вся игра выглядит как будто натянули Сову на глобус. Кроме графики, она отличная но ставлю 0 ибо нужно думать о игровом комьюнити а не ЛГБТ и прочих сообществах игры покупают геймеры а геймеры а их вся эта суматоха не должна касаться. В играх мы хотим отдыхать и и узнавать прекрасные истории а не беспокоиться о проблемах реальности.рукой)… Expand

With Joel, the character killed off in a lazy way. Who is tied for 1 best character in the series. Hating Abby from the start, playing her the 1st time was annoying, playing her for half of the game made me hate her even more somehow. Wasting so much time on characters that literally nobody cares about was easily the most ridiculous decision I've ever scene in modern gaming.

    Having the primary climax of the game be from the perspective of a character I already hate was just pathetic. Ellie basically has no interaction with the Scars, no interaction with the trans kid whatever his name was, and we waste time reviewing backstory for characters the MAIN character already killed, levels upon levels upon pointlessness. Then having Abby beat up Ellie made me dislike this character even more somehow. Somehow they managed. And then Ellie doesn't even end up with Dina at the end of the game. I get having a gritty realistic story but this was 24 hours of pointless gameplay.

    Having us play as her with her dad was enough to get the player to empathize with Abby, did not need to play most of the game as her, who cares. Forcing these characters into the game mid sentence was the most infuriating thing I have ever scene in a game. Interrupt the most pivotal part of the story to shove new characters in, both of which are not in the least interesting, don't develop at all, and have no character traits other than a description of their gender and sexuality was a massive waste of time. They also get in the way of time that could have been spent with Dina. Ellie and Dina have great chemistry as characters and they are shoved to the side for what? Why on Earth you would build up some of the most beloved characters in gaming and then waste our time with this nonsense is beyond me.

    Joel's death led up to nothing, Abby's story led up to nothing, Ellie tracking her down across the country led up to nothing, and the new character's sister died and it led up to nothing. There was so much potential for this game and the strangest thing is that I was trying to be open first half of the game. Again, it is beautiful but cutting the first part of the game in half to waste our time with bloated, lazy, pathetic storytelling was such a stupid move. At least have Abby as a dlc mission and not cut away from the main characters relationship. I've never played a game with more of an identity crisis.

    The flashbacks were fantastic. I honestly would have been happy with a shorter game where Ellie gets some sort of revenge, setting the bar low, but the timing was such a disgusting bait and switch. it was never said that Ellie wasn't in half the game. 0 out of 10. Neil is a great writer but I do not expect to look for creatives for political advice. Not a smart move to appease gaming blogs and ignore your actual fanbase. But hey, at least they love the game now because you have a trans character, a lesbianic couple, and an amputee Asian girl who looks slightly autistic. Thank God we checked all the boxes so we won't look like meanie racists. Man, that was close.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
