    First game - story driven, relationship building between Joel and Ellie, good balance between gameplay and cuscenes.

    Second game - agenda driven, decisions from characters which make 0 sense, uninspiring story. At this point I have a feeling they'll change kratos to a trans female. All environments are the same and your enemies can't have a good reaction to your actions OR they have an extreme and too visement one. When you set the difficulty higher the game spare all equipment from you and it's hard just because you don't have anything. Otherwise I think R* can sue against SonyThe worst ever!!     A clichéd dogma seems to have manifested - that if you do not like or appreciate this game's storytelling, you're too ignorant to comprehend its symbolism or complexity. Couple this with the prevalent bigoted comments, there seems to be little focus on rational criticisms aside from a quick acknowledgement that a few exist. While it is important to talk about considering it could very well be true, the toxic and polarizing result leaves little room left for those valid critiques.

    And I (among several others I've spotted) thought there were huge problems with the game that aren't nested in anti-progressive attitudes...

    On the vaccine - my interpretation (and it could be wrong) of the first game was that this was nothing more than fleeting hope amongst an incredibly desperate rag-tag group of abused and abusive individuals. There was little, if any, inductive evidence provided to suggest that one could actually be derived from Ellie, aside from minor lip-service. There was no invitro-testing, data analysis, or even procurement of proper scientific equipment to produce one, presented/mentioned in the storyline. Then there's the manufacturing, development, adverse-event monitoring, and proper coordination of conveying this information to other researchers/physicians (and how many of those are left?) across the continent in order to vaccinate everyone, assuming there would be no other unforeseen phenomenon, catastrophes, wars over the drug, etc… All in all, the science was left to your imagination, which is fine, but my imagination never really lead me to believe that, in this universe as presented, it was viable. So I understood (though didn't necessarily agree) with Joel's motivations in the first game, and why I felt that his lie to Ellie was so moving at the end.

    I'm unsure if the story of LOUII was already planned during the development of the first. If so, I think the first one should've been handled differently. If not, then I'm not clear as to why so much weight was given to the effectiveness of the vaccine, as it was never construed to be. This trivializes the ethical justification for Abby - as I do not truly believe she was utilitarian, nor her father. Thus, it's hard to agree an "eye for an eye" was ever properly indicated, which I think was the intent of this revenge plot.

    So I didn't really like the story for that main reason. The gameplay was also a bit boring -- it just felt dated, and perhaps there were just too many interactive cinematic parts. I strongly disliked the soundtrack... I didn't find any of the (very few) tracks moving, aside from a few pieces, and most of the game you trudge through silence. Though the actual sound effects were solid, as was the voice acting.

    Graphics, on the other hand, were brilliant. It's a shame I can't get as much FPS as I'd like from a PS4, but nonetheless, they were absolutely phenomenal!

    Overall - I'd give this game a 3/10. The main value resulting from the artistic portrayal of the environments. It wasn't really fun to play, the story was a bit too long, and the motif of revenge has been done better before. At $60... that's asking too much for the quality that it is...    … Expand

    The first one was a true masterpiece and the second when we speak abou graphics and gameplay is good but the turned the story in to trash, if you play because you want a good story thinking about the first one you will lose your will to play after 2 hours or so

    I wish the game wasn’t so linear and force-fed I wish that I had the options to choose which route to take and which direction to go choosing between a good ending and a bad ending for more replay ability however this game leaves me no choice and it made me feel sick to my stomach

    The story of TLOU ends in the first game, there was no need for a sequel, don't buy this garbage.

    When The Last of Us (part 1) came out, I fell in love with the game: the story, the characters, gameplay, the scenery, everything. The story of a father who lost his daughter, but then regains his fatherhood by saving a girl that could potentially be the basis for a way out of the apocalypse. The father, Joel, is a classical hero of the story, with whom the player identifies, because JoelWhen The Last of Us (part 1) came out, I fell in love with the game: the story, the characters, gameplay, the scenery, everything. The story of a father who lost his daughter, but then regains his fatherhood by saving a girl that could potentially be the basis for a way out of the apocalypse. The father, Joel, is a classical hero of the story, with whom the player identifies, because Joel is the survivor that takes risks to protect the most valuable, yet vulnerable person, Ellie, and fights against the badness of the world in order to save the world (finding a cure). You witness the father-daughter love forming between the two, which builds the core of the story. The end goal of the whole narrative was: Ellie, who is immune to the disease, could be the source for victory, the ending to the Cordyceps nightmare. She's the key. So I expected the Last of Us II would continue to develop this path: Joel and Ellie trying to save the world. Figuring out, how to make use of Ellie's immunity to fight the disease. With Joel, our hero, in the center of the story - together with his daugter. (SPOILERS!) But then TLoU2 came out and none... absolutely NONE of the expected happened. Joel gets brutally killed off by a transsexual nobody by walking in on a trap he would have never walked in in TLoU1. Then, Ellie tries to take revenge - and fails. In the contrary: The player is forced to play the killer of Joel, is forced to control the evil who has already won by killing the hero of the story. On top of this already awful continuation, Ellie outs herself as being gay, so the last hope for mankind by introducing her immune genes into the future genepool of humanity by giving birth to a lot of immune children, has died too. In short: Everything that made me love The Last of Us part 1 was thrown overboard in order to give space for a social justice propaganda sausage fest. None of it makes sense, none of it makes it fun to play. You'd think that during an apocalypse people would have higher priorities than gender identity, lesbian sexual intercourse after weed consumption and bad feelings from the past. The Last of Us 2 is basically as empty as a James Bond story where James Bond is killed in the beginning of the story: None of what follows makes sense anymore, except for the vengeance of his death, which, in the end, fails too, leaving a total vacuum behind.… Expand

The characters are dumbed down and the story is nowhere near logical, we play the entire game on a revenge spree where the game forces us to kill several human characters and by the end teaches us to refrain from violence, like it never occurred to us before. Hideo Kojima gave us a lesson of not using violence in MGS 3 Snake Eater and that worked way better than here because that game never forced us to murder people. The gameplay is nearly the same as its predecessor. 3/10 for only for Ellie singing Take on Me, that was freaking beautiful.… Expand

    Honestly most dissapointing game of the generation for me. I saw the leaks but still wanted to go in open minded and enjoy the game for what it has to offer. While the gameplay is ok and the grafics are good everything about the story turned out to be even worse than exspected. First time being dissapointed with ND. I really don't get how all those reviewers brought this game up to a 95.

    This game is horrible. Story is horrible. I can’t believe that somebody decided to go with this. What were they thinking. I’m speechless but in most horrible way that is possible. They should kill all characters. That would have more sense than this. I don’t know what to say. Disappointed!

    The game looks great and the gameplay is really good. But the big problem as you know is the story. The problem is that you have to play as Abby for 10+ hours in the game. Being forced to kill dogs and bad story choices.

Game was not rewarding and the ending sucked. Ellie never got to have her moment. She lost her father figure, her family and her fingers. Goes on a quest for a revenge and kills a bunch of people to get to the person that killed Joel to then decide that killing is bad and allows the murderer to get away. The 1st game story was alot better (story). Terrible experience! Don't play , save your time and money!… Expand

    My scores:

    Gameplay 3/10, added some new features which made the game feel too easy, that challenging factor we had in the first game seems is not one in the LOU2. In addition to this the game is ridiculed with bugs.

    Graphics 7/10 i'd give it more but the face tracking in some scenes is very off.

    Locations 8/10

    Storyline 1/10 Extremely disappointing, instead on focusing on a good sequel to the first game they opted to brush it off and push a SJW agenda which just did not belong in this sequel and a huge stab in the back to the majority of their fanbase. There are various examples of this if you look at Naughty Dog's recent games, in the LOU2 for example we have an extremely female dominated cast. They seem to have some hatred towards men.

    Great visuals and it is a improved game on the first one. But the great story is what I play the first game for and it left me pretty disappointed with the decisions naughty dog decided to make for this one.
    Such a disappointment after such a long time waiting.

I didn't have anything against the inclusion of the transgender characters (in fact, I support it!), but it seemed like it was very forced. (just to appease to the general public.) One of the most bothersome things I encountered was the jump mechanic -- it's really bad to control. Moving the focus away from the main characters isI played the game.     You can enjoy the game from youtube or buy it and play by yourself and then you will find that the gameplay is the best, everything so amazing but the story is the worst, I have nothing to say with it but it's broke my heart because this I set the bar about the game-play story so high.

    I haven't written such a review in my life, but I must definitely write this work. Natty Dog, you ignored the gamers and made them give up on your self-conceit and throw away our seven years! I don't think the gamers will come back at DLC, and I don't know how much they're getting for 100 points, but I don't know how much they get!

Many Players or even People who didn't even play this "Game" would call it a Review Bomb, what the hell is wrong with you all? Can't People get angry, about something they loved and now gets demolished like this?
    First of all The Last of Us 1 was one of the best Games I have ever played, it had a small Cast, the development was sooo superb, everything fit to Story, the Story developed amazingly, THE STORY MADE SENSE!
    Naugthy Dog, I am a big fan of your Games, I loved all of them!

    So let's start with the Review, I want to make as fast as possible.

    + Graphics are great, it feels like they really put all their time to make this Game feel alive, well done!
    + Gameplay, even if you get here and there some minor bugs, I felt like gameplay isn't the problem here.

    Now comes a lot of Crap!
    - THE LAST OF US PART II
    hoooly crap, I am not a Man who is against LGBTQ+ I even support it, I don't even mind that it's in the game, so please, pleaaaaseeeee don't even think about that even 90% of the Negative Reviews is about it!
    So 4 years later after Joels rampage on the Fireflies, you can see Ellie, damn did I miss her, you get the feeling there is now a normality in the game.
    Ellie has a Girlfriend, a Home, you see a nice Community and then BOOOOOM
    you change to ABBY and you finally see what this HOT GARBAGE OF A GAME IS!
    A REVENGE GAME! *claps*
    so you have this Author in your Team who maybe thought, he is the new Platon, Shakespeare or what the **** he even thought!
    So Abby in all her anger has one mission, but we as the Viewer are not allowed to know, so one FORCED COINCEDENCE of another she got what she was looking for! JOEL!
    so she kills Joel with a GOLF CLUB IN THE HEAD OVER AND OVER AGAIN (*cough* NEGAN from the Walking Dead *cough*) not like we have seen this **** before Neil Druckmann!
    and then DEUS EX MACHINA Ellie is there and gets forced to look how Bodybuilder Girl gives Joel the finishing blow. are you for real man?
    Look I am sure at least 96% of the Players also played The Last of Us part I
    we all know Joel isn't a saint it was his Karma, but just how it built, didn't feel right, it was FORCED!
    so now all of the sudden the Group around Abby decided to let Ellie and Tommy stay alive!
    so now the revenge arc of Ellie begins!
    let's rush this fast....
    Ellie on her mission to find Abby just finds Nora and some more and kills them since no one wants to tell her where Abby is
    Tommy is also on his Carnage kills and maaaaaybe he should have been died like 9-10 times till the end of the game, but hey he is alive, everything for the Plot.
    the love triangle felt so forced damn it, you have Dina she seems nice but not relevant after all, she now loves Ellie, Ellie loves her back, then you have Jesse who isn't that important tbh he is just there even when he died it didn't bother anyone! Jesse just made Dina pregannt, so later when Abby wants to kill her, Ellie just said "she is pregnant" she stops thanks to Lev! damn Author you must feel so smart!
    to be honest with you it is also false advertisement you play most of the time ABBY, god I end it here...
    I am sure The Last of Us Part II will get a lot of sales since it is the most hyped game of this generation , but its definitely not the hot **** everyone expected, give it a try and find out yourself
    you get a Revenge, then Revenge and then at the end again a Revenge arc
    after a timeskip you are again playing as Ellie, you want to find Abby, after Tommy came to your house saying he knows where she is, then after some post-traumatic nightmares FOR THE PLAYERS later...
    we have our boat fight, Ellie wins lets Abby who is not a Bodybuilder anymore, she is thin! she got rescued by Ellie, but was already starved-
    Ellie just let her alive after a memory with Joel.

    if anyone read this sorry for my bad english, and making it complicated to read but it really was this complicated no one really cares kinda game, everything they did right on the first part felt just worthless in the second part of the game and you have all these timeskips like it would make anything or anyone more likeable or would give any more relevance!

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
