    Naughtydog couldn't stop for a second to think how this would impact their fans but the truth is, I don't think they really cared. If they were willing to mangle this franchise to this degree, it's clear that the only thing that matters is money and a scandalous 95 review by ideologues who couldn't care less about the quality of the game. LoU2 is an absolute clown show of a game written byNaughtydog couldn't stop for a second to think how this would impact their fans but the truth is, I don't think they really cared. The story is unbelievable, full of plot holes, often depraved in failed attempts at adding shock factor and spits on the legacy of the original. A painful game to experience. Thoroughly disappointed with the story. Gameplay and graphics are the best the PS4 has seen. Never have i ever had to write a review about a game i have not finished myself, i tryed to stomach the game but i rly couldnt do it after i had to chase Ellie down with Abby, i decided to look for the end on the internet to help me get the emotional courage to push through it and reach that closure but what i found out is that there is no closure. The game was said to not be for everyone and i agree but the problem is that if u have played the first game i dont think u will be able to enjoy the second one.
    How NG tought it would be able to make u like Abby as a character is beyond belief and just show how amateur they were about this game. But then again it can be that NG rly didnt want that and trully just wanted to give u a bitter game experience with no fun and only pain, when i play a game i do it to feel better be it because its fun, hearth warming, interesting or any other reason that can leave me smiling after a game session and even if i get frustrated after i lose i can just try again and win. With the last of us 2 there is no wining, only rage.
    Play it if u havent played the first one or u just dont have the emotional bound with the first one's characters otherwise i recommend u play the first one again and forget about the part 2.    … Expand

    ...The Last of us part 2 is not canon for me. It pulls the fantastic first part into the dirt. I'm really disappointed. Never again. I hope Corey Balrog makes better deciosions then Naughty Dog. What a disappointment.

Я разочарован, после 7 лет ожидания я получил крупным **** по лбу от Нила Дракмана и его "НЕ ТАКОГО КАК ВСЕ ВИДЕНИЯ". Серия слита, третью часть не жду. Но справедливости ради скажу, что техническая часть безупречна, все выглядит сочно, даже на обычной PS4, все очень плавно и отшлифовано до блеска, однако все было напрасно. If they don't die immediately like this game likes to do. They develop like a fine wine. And the dialogue is good at times, but it often is really mediocre.

    Definitely not as good as the last game. And Ellie has lost all of her wit and funny comments. She does not feel as smart as the game before. And the pacing as often too fast for me to really feel something for characters, but some get more screen time then others. Characters are more introduced then built up, and after they are introduced it feels like Ellie has known them for some years already.

    It often feels like things are forced upon the story like love, death and sorrow. And sometimes it feels downright disrespectful against the first game. And in some circumstances while playing this game I myself did not want to play anymore because of certain decisions.

    There are really no interesting characters. Either characters are innocent or they are evil. There is no inbetween crazy or funny. The game feels way to generic, and often not thought out. In some cases I was left wondering why they did certain things.

    The gameplay is also good, but it feels a lot like The Last Of Us. You can dodge and prone. But besides that they did not introduce anything new gameplay wise. Witch is fine by me, I always liked how the game played. Mainly because I was so interested in the story, but in The Last Of Us 2 I felt myself playing just for knowing the whole story. I did not enjoy it, and it felt like doing a task at work. Fun.

    I could come up with a better story in mere minutes/hours then to make everything about revenge and killing. But I am not going to spoil anything.

    They somehow made this game look stunning, but nobody knew about good storytelling? What did all of the story writers quit their job? I'm sure this game paid for good reviews, because the story/plot is so bad a 5yr old could come up with better.

    The game rushes from one thing to another too fast and people die way to fast.

    1/5 because the gameplay, dialogue and graphics are great, but the story and it's decisions is just terrible. And that is the whole point of a single player experience. Such a unfortunate game, and spitting on Joel is the worst thing ever.
    I can't recommend this game to anybody because it has such a terrible story.
    This is like got season 8, just makes you angry playing. Sorry, I can't believe it either. I heard Bruce Straley and Amy Henning quit and many other talented people. So there is probably a bunch of computer nerds left, who know nothing about story. So the game looks great and gameplay is good.     Horrible intro and an even worse ending. They could've easily made a game comprised of Ellie+Joel's flashbacks and that would've been enough. I don't care about the amazing graphics when I'm forced to play half of the game as a buffed up psycho I have no sympathy for. I'm tired of seeing weak ass feminist plots. The gaming industry needs to wake the hell up.

    Estuve esperando 5 años para jugar a este juego, y cuando lo termine pensé que no debería de haber existido, una completa decepción. Ademas lo compre de salida, la primera vez que lo hago, y me arrepiento muchísimo.

Finally finished the game and I could not find the proper words to describe how disappointed and frustrated I feel with the way they wrote off a character like Joel, literally “dumbing” him down for the sake of just killing him, completely ignoring the lore and the character’s personality which was pretty well established in the first game. The ending is pointless and makes it feel like the whole game and story was for nothing. Terrible story, character development and execution.

    The story is horrible. Annoying false advertisement (character you are avenging for is so predictable they have to lie to you). "Play half of the game for the character you want to kill" move does not work at all.

    game itself is a masterpiece. music sequence but the gameplay? not as good as the official trailer gameplay but decent.

    and why cant I play this on my computer?

Pour Joel on the second hour of the game-Joel who went with Ellie through a bunch of bandits, cannibals, etc. helps the first girl on steroids. After Joel's death, you are filled with hatred, and you go to get revenge. OK you play for Ellie and get used to it, but then the second part you play for Abby - for the one who so cruelly killed Joel, why, why, I want to end this part as fast as possible. Not once did I get the hang of Abby's story. Closer to the end, there is no strength to play, but damn it when it's over. And the ending is just complete **** you can't get back at Abby - there's just no way.
    Another of the disadvantages is the obsession with LGBT topics, I do not condemn LGBT, but for me the game is clearly too much.

    Although the graphics and game-play is good, but its destroyed by the story, destroy whole the franchise, give me a bad experience and disappointed. The character change (specially Joel) also unreasonable and deviate from part 1, its cannot acceptable. Also the game trailers scam and game director's attitude make me disgust and feel offended.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I made a metacritic account just so I could leave this review. I honestly didn't think this game could disappoint me, despite hearing there was controversy in the leaks (which I successfully avoided, but honestly it wouldn't have mattered).
    The gameplay is still fun. Stealthily killing enemies and zombies will never grow old. And the flashback scenes with Joel and Ellie are honestly the best parts of the game for me.
    My biggest problem with the game is being forced to play as Abby for half of it. It's not fun. I want to know what happened to Ellie back at the theater. All your inventory is reset. And I hated the character. She's specifically introduced as an unlikable character due to her killing Joel. Only after you're forced to play as her for several hours do they try to establish her likability.
    Why is likability so important, you may ask. Well, imagine in the last game, you played as David, the cannibal rapist for half the game. Sure, we may have slowly learned to empathize with him and his backstory or whatever, but is that really enjoyable? Especially when you're forced to almost kill your favorite characters.
    To be forced to play as Abby for half the game when we could've spent more time with Ellie or Joel is a terrible decision. ND, you had one job: continue Ellie and Joel's story. And you **** failed spectacularly.    … Expand

    Long story short, I have lost respect for naughty dog after this crap game. More than 5 years in the making? Are you kidding me? Even the graphics look like minimal upgrade from the first game (Nothing close to what those fake gameplay trailers showed).

From the awful treatment of employees to Anita Sarkeesian's involvement to straight-up lying in the trailer and false copyright striking memes and literal tweets without any content whatsoever, this game was a dumpster fire from the start, and that's not even considering the game itself.

    It really took them 7 years to make this piece of garbage.
    The only good thing about it is the graphics, but those don't matter since the gameplay is mediocre at best, and the story is the worst thing written in a long time.

    Imagine killing Joel in a trap which he would have easily seen and then try to make us feel bad for the killer.

    Imagine then making Ellie kill a ton of people just to get to Joel's killer and then not make us be able to take revenge at the end.

    The story of this game is so badly written it's not even funny. At least Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" was hilariously bad, but Neil Druckmann could not even accomplish that. When he said he was crying at the end, he was right, but for the wrong reasons. You'll cry at the end of the game because of the thought of what could have been, not because of the garbage that's been given. A story filled with plot holes and unrelatable characters makes The Last of Us: Part 2 a dull game.

    People already said everything wrong about this game but something no one is talked about it is that Naughty Dog coping Remedy's game Quantum Break playing Heroe and villain is the same in QB and beyond that the last of us TV show is same as QB TV show with in the game

    Probably the biggest disappointement i have ever felt about a cultural product in my life. The last Star Wars movies feel like they have been written by William Faulkner or Aristote compared to this gargabe. Even if you set aside all the agenda they try to shove down your throat it is still utter garbage.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
