This game is getting unjustified hate, the people that are hating on the game saying it is garbage and stuff don’t fully understand what the message of the game is putting across. The original Last of Us is my favourite game ever made, it was perfect. But in the Last of Us 2, we learn that our actions do have consequences (i.e. Joel’s Death). The ending is what’s mainly annoying people, Ellie not killing Abbie? It was a sign of change in Ellie’s personality, when she could and was about to drown Abbie she saw Joel’s face. Ellie understands what has happened over the past 3 days and. It also shows that her character has developed soo much. But hey that’s just my opinion on the game… Expand

Part 2 is a middle finger to devoted TLOU fans and is borderline unplayable unless you enjoy spending 30 dark hours caring about no one or nothing in it. It is contrived, soulless, shock-value garbage compared to the rich character development of the first (this is a fact that has nothing to do with LGBT themes). Incredible disappointment.Are you serious? I waited how many years?!? Например: Пусть Оуэн не просто прятался, но и был бы ранен. Эбби узнала это, взяла аптечку и пошла в океанариум. По дороге её взяли в плен "шрамы" (забрали все припасы, включая аптечку). Потом, та же сцена встречи с Ярой и Левом. Они её спасли. Отбивались от зараженных. Но Эбби бросила их в опасный момент. Пришла к Оуэну. У него ранение в руку. Он говорит, что: "Это ерунда". Секс... Проснулась, почувствовала вину, что бросила детей. Пошла их искать, потому что идти не далеко и не опасно. Нашла. После перепалки с Левом, уговорила их пойти в океанариум. Вернувшись к Оуэну, увидела, что у него воспалилась рана. Решила идти в больницу за аптечкой, чтобы спасти любимого, а не Яру. Идут с Левом в больницу (Лев спасает сестру, а Эбби Оуэна). Во время пути они вынуждены помогать друг другу, чтобы выжить. Лев несколько раз спасает Эбби жизнь, а так же Лев оказывается хорошим «парнем». Возвращаются. Операцию делают и Оуэну и Яре. Яра и Оуэн до этого несколько раз ссорятся, а после операции Оуэн шутит, что они не такие уж разные (Оба теперь без руки). Лев узнает о готовящемся нападении на остров и сбегает, чтобы спасти мать. Яра и Эбби отправляются за ним в погоню. Эбби говорит, что не пойдет на остров и будет ждать в лодке, но приплыв на остров все же идет за Ярой. Находят Лева. Он дома, забился в угол и плачет. Мать повесилась. Оставила записку, что не может вынести позор из-за такой дочери. Лев винит в этом себя. Бегут с острова. Встречают одного "пса". Эбби случайно убивает его, защищая Лева. Это видит Айзек и еще несколько "псов". Стреляют в Яру. Эбби говорит, что она не предавала Айзека и все вышло случайно. Айзек кидает ей нож и говорит, чтобы она доказала свою преданность убив Лева. Эбби отказывается. Яра стреляет в Айзека. Эбби и Лев сбегают с острова, убивая всех и «псов» и «шрамов» на пути. Возвращаются в океанариум. Находят трупы Оуэна и Мел. Эбби идет мстить, Лев идет за ней, но говорит слова из их религии, что месть не приносит облегчения и все такое. Когда Эбби приставляет нож к горлу Дины, а Элли говорит, что та беременна, Эбби говорит, что ей насрать и Мел тоже была беременна. Элли из последних сил кидается на Эбби и Эбби вырубает её ударом тыльника ножа по голове. Эбби подбирает пистолет и направляет на Элли. Лев говорит, что беременная не выживет одна и одним выстрелом Эбби убьет троих (Элли, Дину и ребенка). Эбби их пощадила. Элли не знает, почему Эбби их не убила. Она была без сознания, как и Дина. Когда Тонни уговаривает Элли поехать в Калифорнию и отомстить, Дина возражает, что Эбби их не убила, на что Тонни врет, что это он спугнул её и Лева. И так далее... Можно было добавит логики в сценарий, но, увы. Вторая часть, скорее всего, похоронила серию...… Expand

    Good game. nice mechanics. i really enjoyed playing it :). There are some things i didn't like (i have a problem with the ending), but overall a good experience.

    It's good - very good! The acting is on point. The sound design is amazing. Graphics are breathtaking. Gameplay is a so much fun! And that story hits hard!

    So I have played for hours on the game already, and even though everyone is saying it's bad I personally don't think so. The graphics are beautiful, the characters are well designed, and where I see people complain about the writing issues it is not bad to where it makes the game unplayable.     A dark daring game by naughty dog a fantastic sequel which explores the world in a more in depth way that makes its predecessor seem linear in comparison. It’s shocking at times and extremely thought provoking but gives you the sense of dread the world world would be post pandemic without morals or ethics of any kind.     Another Masterpiece from Naughtydog. Not a fairytale, dont expect angels and bubbles. Very dark and very violent but not enough gore. Much longer than the first. Sounds and Visuals are beautiful. Sad truth for 2020 : 30 fps only...

    I've never played a game that made me feel so many emotions and took me on such a fantastic journey of storytelling and gameplay. Was it worth a 7 year wait? You bet your ass it was, and I'd wait another 7 for another one!

    The game is amazing on the gameplay.; best graphics I have seen in this generation, although the story is good, it does not live up to the last of us part 1, and many may hate the approach naughty dog took, but me personally I didn’t mind it that much

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I personally enjoyed the first half of the game, the parts where you play as Eliie. However when the game kept pushing you to feel for this person (Abby) after she killed joel because he killed an extra in the last game I started to lose any passion for the game. However I see why Naughty Dog did it, they wanted to make The Last Of Us Part II enjoyable for people who didn't play the last game, However I believe if they had focused on us (the fans of the original) they would feel less pressured to kill the greatest video game character ever in the first 2-3 hours. I am however frustrated that the game ended with Eliie taking the moral high-ground after killing hundreds of people, killing a pregnant woman and brutal torturing Nora. The whole game Ellie vows to avenge Joel and in the last 10 minuets she changes her mind, this feels like a Cop out and sloppy story writing to me. However I believe the reason for this is Sony wants another Last of us and therefor naughty dog need to leave the game as open as possible (This is mainly shown by the fact we now know there are fireflies out there). Although I do not believe it lives up to my expectations and or live up to the first one, I can not sit here and say The Last Of Us Part II was not an extraordinary because it was, the graphics are impeccable, the gameplay is the best from any video game I've ever played, the acting was of the charts and of course the Story was very good even for naughty dogs standards. (To show that the story was good just think of how you would react if you played The Last Of Us Part II without knowing about Part I, you can not tell me or anyone that you would have enjoyed it, the only reason i gave negative thoughts in this review is because it does not live up to Part I for that reason I rate the game an 8/10. However if Part II was released as a standalone and did not have the expectations we had it could have easily been a 10/10. I should also say I do genuinely believe this game is Game of the year and will be talked about for years, I also expect there will be one more game (to finish the trilogy that's my opinion anyway.)… Expand

    I cannot even describe how much I am disappointed by this game. Graphics are excellent but the story has no soul, no meaning. I loved the first one but this one left me empty. Ellie's character arc is horrible. I give a 6 just for the incredible graphics and animations.

    Honestly play the game and form your own opinion. Had a lot of fun playing, gameplay hasnt changed much but it works, some of the story doesn't. Looks great, phenomenal score, and gameplay. I'm hoping they bring back factions, would even increase my score. Screw the haters.

Even with the worlds current condition, the extra delay did not save this game.The game has spectacular visuals at some points but it’s very inconsistent. Con una historia de venganza muy bien estructurada la mayoría de las personas no entienden muy bien el final pero lo cierto es que esta muy bien fundamentado ya que Elli le perdona la vida a Abby ya que al fin entendió que no serviría de nada matar a Abby pero gracias a los decesos de venganza de Elli perdió todo lo que tenía sus amigos a su propia familia y en el camino se daño así misma. El final demuestra lo que pasa en la vida real

    It is very unfortunate that the last big AAA game on PS4 is as dissapointing as this one, a complete reversal of TLOU where it put a close on PS3 legacy with a bang.

    I don't mind about the story (well i hate it, but i don;t really care enough), but there is nothing new with the gameplay. Even God of War is much better walking simulator than TLOU now.

A nivel gráfico es una obra de arte igualmente en la jugabilidad y banda sonora. En su historia si es difícil digerir por lo cruel que son sobre tus personajes favoritos. Te deja pensando mucho de que realmente la vida es así y si actúas mal en algún momento la vida te pasa factura. No quería que terminara así pero eso se trata y a todos los que dicen que es el peor juego por su historia narrativa la verdad eso no son argumentos. No todo tiene que acabar como uno quiere y ese es uno de los muchos mensajes que te deja este juego.… Expand

    I truly dont get where the hate is coming from, the story gripped me and I was swept along in only a way that naughty dog can do. Granted I didnt feel the same love as the first LOU but man I thought this was epic. Looked gorgeous, great gameplay and I thoroughly enjoyed the story as I've seemed to be gripped by new characters which unfortunately others seem to have not

    One of the best games ever, if RDR2 was a 2020 game, it would, for sure, be a great rival to TLOU part II on the GOTY awards event. Happy and grateful for this Naughty Dogs work.

Only going to say that people who are hating clearly didn’t understand the message and story that the naughty dog team where telling. Everyone is annoyed at the death of a beloved character, this death ( tho is very upsetting for Ellie and the player) leads the story down the revenge arc to then open players up to the discussion of revenge: an eye for an eye and wether the idea of survival is valid. Well done naughty dog.… Expand

Once again Naughty Dog have completely raised the bar for portraying a thought provoking well written story true to humanity while still being terrifying, challenging, gruesome, and dramatic as heck.

I’d say most, if not all of the bad reviews are not accurate. I’m sorry to every dude out there who identified with Joel’s savior complex and then had it all ripped away but that’s how life is sometimes. It doesn’t make it a bad story. Easy 10/10… Expand

After twenty hours of trekking through The Last of Us Part II, the credits began to roll, Gustavo Santaolalla's incredible guitar work in the background, and my emotions caught in my throat. Neil and the entire Naughty Dog team created one of the most unique, powerful, and hauntingly beautiful experiences there is. The story will stick with you for days and weeks to come, especially the ending. Ellie's journey for revenge becomes a tale of the player learning that in the world of The Last of Us, there is no good or bad, only survival. Ellie will always be number one in our hearts, but I understand why Abby did what she did. I understand why everyone in this world does what they do. Neil shows us throughout the game how Ellie and Abby are living very similar lives, including avenging a father and navigating a love triangle with a newborn on the way. Every person had their own reason to be loved and respected and were missed dearly during long sections of pure gameplay. The gunplay and movement is crisp in ways we have never seen this development team do so before. Plenty of weapons to unlock, upgrade, and use to approach every encounter as it owns individual, standalone experience. Brand new enemy types and factions are welcomed additions and fill the city, including a particular late game boss that is surely going to stick with the fans. Seattle is gorgeous and incredibly detailed, rewarding the player for exploration. The partially open-world layout is one that should be adopted by most developers going forward, but will be hard to match what Naughty Dog has created here. Every single storefront and apartment breathes it's own life and has something to offer whether it's lore from the game's 200+ collectibles, supplies for upgrades, or a sense of realism and immersion. Visiting every nook and cranny of the map has never felt so satisfying. The gameplay, graphics, and pacing are a vast improvement over an already known masterpiece predecessor, especially the swimming. Also, rope physics. Part II is hopeless, bleak, and soul-crushing in the rightful way a world of this nature should be and while, my heartbreaks knowing it is very unlikely Ellie is going back to Jackson to be with Dina at the end, the entire game telegraphed that sometimes, you need to let things go. Joel, Ellie, Abby, and even Lev lost everything because they let their emotions get the best of them. It is a hard pill to swallow and clearly, a lot of players are unable to do so, but it is a valuable lesson that Neil conveyed through gripping storytelling. The end of every chapter had welcomed award-winning, film caliber scenes unfolding numerous, fascinating storylines. Each one filled to the brim with its own self worth, whether it's the quest for revenge, or the tale of finding love with another or the tale finding love within yourself, even though it abandons your peoples' beliefs. There is so much to enjoy in The Last of Us and the game encourages the player to return for round two as all the upgrades cannot be obtained in a single playthrough. My journey through New Game+ so far already has me in captivation and overfilled with raw emotion. Rewatching certain cutscenes with my knowledge of endgame opens a whole new level of beauty and understanding. I eagerly await specific sections of the game such as Ellie's battle through Hillcrest, any interaction with Dina, and the museum to name a few. Part II is not an easy ride and the pain it brings may stick for a longtime, but these are stories that had to be told and had to be heard and I am thankful for it. There has never been a game like this and I'm not sure if there ever will be again.… Expand

    I was really disappointed at the end. I know they wanna leave it in a mystery. But the fact that they just left it giving us no knowledge of what happens to her is just crazy to me. But I loved the gameplay, it was amazing.
    But I hated the fact that we barely played with ellie and it seemed like this was an Abby game.

    Beautiful game. These people giving these terrible reviews have obviously not played. I'm 12hrs in and it has me completely wrapped around it's little finger. It's intense, well scripted and insanely polished. The first game was fantastic but this has taken things to a whole new level.     The sound is great. So is the music. The voice acting is spot on as well, despite if you like the characters or not. They did an awesome job.

    The gameplay is...fair. It's basically TLOU 1 with a few minor adjustments. I guess if it's not broken, don't fix it.

    With THIS ALONE this game isn't a 0 out of 10. Have people seen a true 0/10 game? I think not. This isn't it. Stop it.

    Now, lets get to the bad. The story. I don't really know what went on here, nor do I care, but I can say the story is..EH. EHHH. I didn't care for it. I won't go into details due to spoilers but lets just say some of the characters and pacing doesn't really seem like they would have from part one. It's like they forgot how certain characters would act and feel in certain situations and were changed due to plot armor to force it to go in one way. And being a major RPG fan where most of them, it's story > all..i can say i didn't enjoy the story.

    Plus another note, there's a ..scene...that conflicts with Sony's censoring. It's stated there's nudity in this game but..why? Sony censors some thighs from a final fantasy game TWENTY YEARS AGO but can't censor this? Nah..just nah.

    Overall, I'm giving the game 8/10. I won't judge the game JUST on story, it's unfair for ALL the work that was put in, not just a delusional "i read the greatest story of all time and cried, i wrote it" bullcrap. Between the sound artists and vocals, acting, etc, the game overall is amazing. Just this story does feel really short and it's a shame. This game could have easily been a 10/10 if certain story bits were touched just right.    … Expand

    First of all this game wasn't 9 or 10 out of 10 game for me, it's far from masterpiece.
    Positive thing is Gameplay and Visual are great, some might say it's pretty much like the first game but I still enjoy it. I do love the story that game want to tell us and I think if done right, it would elevate this game so much more than it is right now.

    But again the biggest flaws of this game for me is how they choose to present the story. If they do it right I would might fond Abby's gameplay more enjoyable but with the way they chose, it didn't. I found it hard to play as a character that were present to us as a bad guy with the hated feeling toward the character. I didn't want to play as her, I want her died I understand her story but how they told her story felt like an excuse than storytelling. If they were to build us some relationship with her before "The Golf Club Scene" it probably help this game more.

    Also with the ending. I would say I saw that coming but again, I didn't feel any build up or anything that make this ending believable. it felt like this story have no payoff and all those journey was for nothing. In the end the storytelling and ending are tow things that drag this game down a lot since it's a story driven game.

    Pienso que a pesar de la muerte de Joel , era la única manera de contarnos algo más , y por esa misma es que los infectados pasaron a segundo plano , la jugabilidad , excelente , la exploración muy bien lograda , gráficos de 10 , pero si es cierto que con un buen final hubiera llegado a ser un juego excelente pero incluso con eso,sigue siendo un buen juego.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. el juego a nivel gameplay y grafico es un 10/ 9,5, el punto donde se vio debil a mi opinion fue en la historia, a nivel narrativo el personaje de abby es bueno, lamentablemente no se supo desarrollar para generar empatia con ella ya que era su objetivo principal en esa parte, también el juego te hace creer que usaras a ellie en todo momento para concretar su venganza y ese cambio de repente en el personaje no sienta bien a los jugadores. la muerte de joel me parecio un buen motivo para la historia, pero senti que este personaje no era el mismo joel que en la primera entrega ya que el desconfiaría de cualquier persona que se le cruzara en su camino.
    no me ha disgustado, pero creo que para que te guste completamente, no tendrías que ser fan del primero y considerarlo como un juego en general sin encariñarte de los personajes.
    para mi el juego es bueno, me llego a despertar emociones, pero se que a la mayoria le cayo mal y creo que fue el error de introducirla a abby como personaje jugable y la forma en que joel muere.    … Expand

    HOWEVER. The story is so poorly written that none of that matters. They are trying to deliver the message that the violence is bad... like seriously?
    Ellie never stops making stupid decisions.
    Abby is not likable at all. How we are supposed to like her after that scene from the beginning? And we have to play HALF of the game as the girl who killed Joel with a Golfclub like a pig.
    "Oh, look, my dad used to save wild animals and now is dead and that's why I go crazy with golfclubs"

    And the end is pure garbage. GOT final type of garbage. All the game for no payoff. Both walk away with all their respective friends dead.    … Expand

Playing with her to fully understand her character. In the game she takes on the task of taking care of the 2 scars. Her doing this gives her another shot at forgiveness. In a game thats all about revenge, forgiveness is also the main theme. In the end ellie learns to forgive abby for what she did even if it was so fuccin hard. Abby learned to forgive when she was with the two scars, thats why when she was about to kill dina and ellie lev was there to remind abby about forgiveness. Joel was ellies reminder about forgiveness for hence the flashback ellie has when she plays the guitar back home. The game also teaches us in a way to forgive, to forgive abby for what shes done. The game challenges you with that task, to forgive even if its hard enough. This game is amazing in my opinion and if you really think the game is got bad then ig it is in your opinion.
