The pushing of LGBT Vibes are so in your face it’s just annoying.     To start it all of, the gameplay, music was everything great like we expected it to be, the story was also great except for some parts. I knew they were going to kill Joel, and despite that fact that was what gave Ellie the strenght to pull all of what she did in Seattle. I Absolutely loved Dina, Ellie and JJ together, but the problem here is that Ellie after she leaves her home, in order to find the closure she needs, to look for Abby and kill her. I mean we play the game for hours and hours because just like Ellie, us the players also want to get revenge for Joel, and I feel like almost everyone in that position that Ellie was when drowning Abby would have killed her. Like she killed Joel and Jesse and nearly killed Dina and Tommy. I get that they wanted to stop with the killing cycle but like I said before we play through hours for basically no point whatsoever. To make this worse, Ellie comes home a few months later but the house is vacant. We've waited 7 years to get this end to the story? Please... and now I'm hearing rumors that we might get a last of us game with Abby and Lev as the protagonists, if they actually do that, I might just regret playing the second game at all, at this point I'm honestly thinking that I've should have just watched the game on Youtube to see the players get to the end and be like "for real this is it?" instead of wasting 79 euros on the game.    … Expand

    The storyline is completeley trash and they ruined all the game with decisions that don't make any sense.
    Graphic and technical gameplay are good but for me these are not enough to make it a good game. Really boring...
    Extremely overrated, i expected a lot more.

A Naughty Dog está realmente de parabéns e realmente entregou tudo que prometeu e muito mais , que é uma coisa bem difícil hoje em dia. The graphics are stunning, what a lot of beautiful places to visit. And the gameplay is an upgraded version of the first one, which makes total sense.

I want this review to be free of all politics and just be based off a pure story basis, the reason I gave this game a 2/10 is because its everything we didn't want in this game, first you kill off JOEL someone we grew to love over 7 years waiting for old man Joel in this game and maybe dying heroically for Ellie but instead he gets brutally killed off in 30 mins, almost like they wanted just gone and forget about him and look at this cool another person we have named Abby.

    The gameplay I can't trash too much because it didn't change at all from the first game really so yah basic af still nice. Then after a bunch of bland basic convos we have to go get this oh no its block there must be another way around, we finally get some nice justice for Joel just for us to be stopped, to be forced to play Abby, someone, we grew to hate as soon as we saw her kill Joel, but wait you guys will love her just give her a chance, NO WE DONT CARE she just killed the main character all we all wanna do is kill Abby not learn about her backstory which is useless because we killed all these people already nice waste of time. And she is like playing a Walmart version of Kratos with her godly triceps and her haymakers she gives to zombies and then has lily who is a trash version of Atreus. This whole time playing her they try and make you feel guilty for killing her friends and this did the opposite I was so happy when they died in this game besides the dog :( but they also try and teach revenge is bad and the only person that wins in this is Abby she gets to beat the crap out of Ellie and they force us to do it which is bull because I would sometimes just jump off roofs on purpose just to see Abby die, and then at the end of it all we are about to kill her and we let her leave like what I get it in all but there should have been a choice for us at the players. All I ask of is now not to make a Last of us 3 and if you make a DLC for Last of us 2 don't make us play Abby or Anything to do with her because it will do bad I promise you it will.    … Expand

At first I was angry at Abby for killing Joel, and then I see Abby's reasoning for her actions... and I just, couldn't help but to feel bad for her. Joel's past finally came back to bite him. I get that: "Abby should get her consequences! She gets away with killing Joel and gets everything she wants!" What I have to say to that is this: Joel, Tommy and Ellie kill like 99% of the people Abby cared about, and plus Abby also has a kid, Lev, to look after. If you know Joel and Ellie then you'd know they wouldn't kill someone and leave a kid hopeless and in danger because their protector/parent is dead. Gameplay: 10/10 - I just had so much fun, the tension, the suprises, the bad guys having names (got kinda annoying, but if you sneak around it won't be annoying as much.)

    Story: 9/10 - there's so much plot twists that make me not know what's going on. Like: "Wait, should I still be angry at Abby? Yes, she killed Joel... but then again Joel did kill like 80% of the people Abby loved." **** like that have me on my feet and I live for it. I love when writers can have my emotions all over the place. Characters: 8/10. I'd rate it higher, but there wasn't enough character background on the characters that help with Abby in the beginning of the game. I also wanna see more of Ellie and Dina, Joel's character development was **** great. It's like Ellie is his daughter and he wasn't afraid to show he loves her, but still scared to say it with his own words. If that makes sense.

    The ending hits hard. It's definitely something to really think about before saying it's good. There's not much I wanna say, I guess this is where I say this then, go pick up a copy! If $80 CAD is too much to spend right now then wait until a discount comes up for the game. The story will still be here no matter what.    … Expand

On the one hand, great graphics, the best character animations I've seen and quite good (Yes, even with Joel's death) first part of the game. On the other hand, everything that happens in the second part of the game is a failure. No matter how scriptwriters try to justify Abby's actions (especially compared to Ellie's), they failed. The story of the Lev/Lily and Yara is just a sjw joke. But still, I liked the ending that everyone hates so much. Of course, scriptwriters could have been more talented in explaining that violence only leads to violence. But we have what we have.I am disappointed, the ending of first part left me with bitter-sweet feelings, second one left me with nothing, but sadness. Even with all its problems, this game doesn't deserve a score below 7.… Expand

Yes some of these reviews will be fake but a large majority is true on the basis the game is so terribly made.     Lo amo. Creo que la industria tiene mucho que aprender de este juego. La calidad gráfica, Sonora, ludonarrativa... y el respeto a la diversidad. Fue increíble sentir tanta representación en un juego. Es increíble ahora dimensionar cuanto hace falta sentirse así. Cómo le agrega profundidad y sentido de pertenencia el ver a alguien que está atravesando lo mismo . En fin, creo que por acá esLo amo. Creo que la industria tiene mucho que aprender de este juego.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am going to get flamed, but I really enjoyed this game. It's an 8/10 from me. A drop from the 10/10 I'd give the first but it is still a very good game. I didn't mind Joel dying, since the trailer it made it seem like he was dead and Ellie would get revenge. I don't mind how he died either. It makes sense. He became too trusting of others and it led to his downfall. Abby's reasoning for killing him is justified enough. I love Joel but there are 2 sides to each story.

    Which is a theme. It is why you play as Abby. There are 2 sides to every story. The hero and villains of each story can be flipped. It is often the same with war. Everyone is doing what they do for what they think is good, while it is seen as evil from another side. Joel is a hero for saving Ellie, but really he did **** over humanity and killed a lot of people. Abby is a hero to her people but she also kills a lot of people fighting for what they believe in.

    In the end, the moral is Revenge is dumb. You can lose everything, as well as yourself trying to seek it. Abby realized this earlier. Owen and Mel are dead due to Tommy and Ellie seeking revenge for Joel. So, Abby spared Ellie when she could have killed her. She then tries to start a new life with the child and is a much more empathetic person. Trying to turn her life around like Joel did when he met Ellie. With Ellie, she lost Jesse, Dina, and their child seeking revenge. She even lost 2 fingers, hindering her ability to play guitar, something she loved and had a deep connection with Joel to. In the end, she wanders off, having to start new like Abby.

    Revenge is not worth it. What we do in this life can come back and bite us.

    I will say, I give it an 8 because Abby's parts dragged. I feel 1 or 2 missions with her was all that was needed, or just some cutscenes for backstory. A lot felt like it was DLC. I get why they included it, to give Abby backstory and character development, but it just dragged. I also hated having to hurt Ellie. I was almost in tears thinking I would have to kill her.

    I also think so much of this hate **** So many homophobes and transphobes in the reviews. I also feel a lot of people rating off of leaks is dumb. I see so much on twitter and other places, "spoilers", that don't even happen. So many people mad Ellie died when she in fact does not die. Or people saying it was dumb for Ellie to not kill Abby when she was tied up, missing the fact that she got triggered to attack again by the blood on her shirt.

    I have no comment on how the LGBTQ community views how they were represented, as I am not part, but I feel there wasn't anything really offensive? But I am not the right person to say. So I will leave that be.

    The ending seems like a third game is possible, with Ellie finding a new life. I just hope the hate doesn't get the series canned.

    Last note: Forgot to add though, that I was glad we got a taste of the sequel most people wanted. More Joel and Ellie. Easily the best part of the game. Might not have worked as a full sequel though because I feel sequels are supposed to evolve.    … Expand

    played the whole thing through expecting it to be bad at some point. didn’t happen obviously. the story is actually really good and makes you think, the characters are well developed and interesting, and the gameplay is improved.

    This game is so intense!! I can’t stop playing it! It’s Extremely graphic and really makes you experience the violent nature of survival in a world in ruin. It would have been nice if it was open world but im loving this game!! Don’t believe the negative hype! This game is fantastic!

Oh let's kill the bad guy at the end because that's what everyone does and will make people happy. The games' story to make you feel for the so-called villain is amazing by itself. You start to realize that Ellie and Abby are the same parallel characters trying to avenge the death of someone they love. The fact that Naughty Dog forces you to play as Abby to add that layer of sympathy for her once you see why she is doing what she's doing is amazing. People need to get over Joel's death JOEL and I repeat JOEL WAS NEVER THE MAIN CHARACTER OF THIS GAME!!!!! If you thought that then I'm sorry for you all the official trailers show this game was an Ellie game, not a Joel game. People just want the same rinse and repeat good guy wins by killing a bad guy but I'm glad Naughty Dog went that route shows more to do so and gives you more emotion and makes you think. I guess 2020 people don't want to put their own aspect on things. Thank you Naughty Dog for one of the best games if not best game I ever played.… Expand

Demaciados agujeros de guion o continuidad, para partir Joel paso de ser un mercenario desconfiado, un pinche abuelo desvalido que llega y dice su nombre a un grupo de desconocidos, segundo demaciadas coincidencias necesarias solo para matar a Joel,fuera de eso un historia de casi 25 horas jugando buscando por un lado que Ellie logre su venganza, y otra mitad para obligarte a simpatizar con Abby forzosamente con la historia de los Scars. Peor aun el final, la ira de Ellie cuando aun nos hacían creer que su ultima interacción con Joel habia sido una pelea, tal vez era mas fácil de creer que perdonara a Abby, pero peor aun cuando muestran que Ellie queria arreglar su relacion con Joel, osea Abby le quito esa oportunidad, y dado como mato a todos los demás que perdonara a final Abby es totalmente no creible.… Expand

Of course the story was not as good as the first game, but it was never going to be. I enjoyed playing as Abby, and while they tried to make you feel bad for some of the members of the WLF I only sympathized with one. That was Owen, I think he was genuinely a good guy. He's really the only one that didn't want to kill Ellie after they kill Joel. While the story was a somewhat basic revenge tale, that did not stop me from immensely enjoying it. The part where you play as Abby and go to rescue Lev from the island is the most visually pleasing part of the game to me. The only complaint that I have is that the part in Santa Barbara was not really necessary, it was fun but not needed.… Expand

Not everyone will like this game and I can see and understand why, it’s way different from the first one but I also feel like people don’t give it a chance and they don’t even play it, they just hear the leaks. There is so much more to this game and the reason people hate on it is because of Joel’s death which yes was extremely sad but it doesn’t make the game bad. The game isn’t supposed to be a happy game it’s supposed to be a sad and unsettling game and it’s really good at making you feel that. You can feel and see the pain in Ellie as you go through Seattle looking for Abby and the rest of the WLF. Yes Abby is a **** but besides that I have no complaints about this game, and even though it was wrong you can’t blame Abby to much because as much as I love Joel and was sad to see him go the way he did he did kill her father and hurt the rest of the world to save Ellie so Abby feels that pain too. Anyways the improvement on everything in this game from the first one is amazing. Just because Joel died the way he died doesn’t mean the game is bad! 10/10! An emotional Masterpiece!… Expand

While many people dismiss the story as not living up to the expectations of the first due to choices made with specific characters, Naughty Dog have constructed a narrative that explores the harshness of the world created in Part I. Every choice has a consequence, a theme which rings true throughout the entirety of the 35+ hour quest.

    The story beats are not predictable, allowing the audience to continually be exposed to the cast of characters and the world they live in, making characters who commit horrendous acts to be deserving of a sympathetic response.

    The gameplay is fantastic, a natural evolution from Naughty dogs previous top tier games. The different enemy types allow for tense encounters and rely on the audience's constant ability to adapt on the fly.

    While the ending and the choices made by Ellie were different to how many audiences may have liked to see her journey unfold, the truth is the ending gives perspective to her actions and the ending stings in the best way possible. As with the first game, the entire game is going to be a conversation starter that will hopefully force people to think outside of their own comfort zone.    … Expand

Im not quite sure why everyone is so upset, yes some key characters die but guess what they are in a savage world and people will die at any turn what sort of game would it be if you knew everyone was safe at all times. It baffles me, it continues some of what the first game did that made people fall in love with these games. The idea that they are pushing an agenda of feminism just because they made ellie a gay character. I thought it was a wonderful thing to do than keep it as the old boring stereotype for these sorts of games where its always a heterosexual realationship for the main character. I enjoyed this take on that aspect it was a welcome addition and worked well for the tone of the game.

    The pacing was brilliant allowing you to go and take your time to explore areas and let you do it at your own speed and then thrusting you into a beauitfully crafted combat area that could really test you on the harder difficulties. What can i say this game was brilliant and deserves game of the year without a doubt and to the people giving this such low scores you obviously havent played the original otherwise you would love this despite the fact we lose some loved characters but thats how games progress. Loved it and i really have nothing bad to say about this game it was a joy to experience.    … Expand

    La historia está siendo criticada diciendo que es propaganda feminista, de diversidad, bla, bla bla, solamente por el hecho de que esos respectivos temas están presentes en la historia, cosa que para nada es malo, ya que debería ser normal en nuestra sociedad. Si te molesta que Ellie sea homosexual y que en el juego este presente una diversidad de personas de distintas culturas, el problema eres tú no los desarrolladores.
    La jugabilidad es muy buena, mejoró en comparación al 1 y te da una infinidad de oportunidad para completar cada escenario como tú quieras.

    I absolutely loved this game. Without spoiling anything there are definitely some huge risks here regarding the story but I fall into the camp that absolutely loved it. I loved how mistakes made in the first game actually mattered here. If you’re a fan of surface level story telling this game isn’t for you. It’s brutal, disturbing and gut wrenching.

    El juego esta bastante entretenido aunque pudo haber tenido mejoras en la historia aún así la jugabilidad con las mejoras que ha tenido, entretiene bastante y dependiendo de la dificultad que juegues sufres la supervivencia al limite. Lo cual da una experiencia bastante satisfactoria al momento de tener éxito en lo que te propongas.

    I honestly don’t understand why people that didn’t even play the game feel the need to post bad reviews about it, it’s kinda sad. Naughty dog totally nailed it with this game, it’s certainly one of the best games I’ve played in years from the gameplay to the way in which the story unfolds.

    Some people complain about it being SJW agenda; but there isn't very much. There is a lesbian couple that is tye main character, then you have a transgender side-character near tye end of the game. People assume from pre-release "leaks" that the protagonist is also transgender but the game does not confirm nor deny that. Based on my opinion, it would be impossible for the main protagonist to be transgender in the world they live in with no medical labs or medicine to take for transition.
    I don't like how the game ended. Im left questioning the reason for the "third part" and what lessons were to gain from it. I plan on playing a second time thoroughly as my initial run I had sprinted through all the enemy AI.    … Expand

    It is more than just a game, it is a very immersive game with lots of character building. That is also the downfall. It isn't like the first, it is rarely run and gun, you spend the majority of the time crouched and looting, then to all of the sudden be dropped into a situation where you have been careful until the developers make you go through some hole in the wall or down an embankment where you have no place to return and then thrown into a fight where most of your resources you painstakingly gathered for is now gone. Secondly, bring your phone because this game is cut scene to death, so much so that you have to take part in playable cut screens where, if you don't care to get to know the characters and just want to finish, this is frustrating and annoying. Downside is, this is how you care about the characters, and if you don't then you miss the entire point of the game.

    Plus side, controls are great, new infected are great, the ai is a bit smarter when it comes to chasing you down but dumb as a brick when they find a body and you are nearby. The environments are astonishing, one of the best out there, small things you might miss with sound from the tv not headphones and you will miss, worth investing in headphones for that reason.

    In the end, the story basically tries to tell you an eye for an eye leaves the world blind. If life gives you a second chance don't waste it. The apocalypse, no one is safe, not even your hero because in the end, everyone dies. The end though being, for the characters, do you want to spend your time seeking revenge when in the end no one wins, or move on with your life to make the best of it.

    I will and do replay part 1, I will not replay part 2 simply because of the time invested in cut scenes. If you want a cookie cutter of part 1 skip, if you want to enjoy a story, a slow long drag you feet story, then this is the one for you.    … Expand

    Espere el juego 6 años, el primero me encantó, a decir verdad todos teníamos una expectativa muy alta, todos nos imaginamos una historia donde Joel y elli vivían felices como padre e hija, pero ese fue el error, este juego no es uncharted (sin ofender) donde todos viven tranquilos y sin ninguna consecuencias de los actos que hicieron, ahí que entender que en el mundo de the lastof us esEspere el juego 6 años, el primero me encantó, a decir verdad todos teníamos una expectativa muy alta, todos nos imaginamos una historia donde Joel y elli vivían felices como padre e hija, pero ese fue el error, este juego no es uncharted (sin ofender) donde todos viven tranquilos y sin ninguna consecuencias de los actos que hicieron, ahí que entender que en el mundo de the lastof us es crudo en donde todo lo que haces tiene conciencias, la historia es muy buena, en ciertas partes no tanto, el final para mí es perfecto para la historia que te cuentan te muestra que todo lo que haces ya sea por una buena o mala causa te cambia la vida. El personaje de Abby me gusta y su historia me gusta y no me gusta, me gusta por qué temuestra que lo que hizo tiene fundamentos y no me gusta por qué le dan mucho protagonismo, este juego lo mostraron como que elli iba hacer la única protagonista. El juego te muestra que no ahí ni buenos ni malos en el mundo de the last of us. Todos los aspectos técnicos son para mí un 9,5 o un 10, otra cosa que no me gustó mucho es que se hace demasiado largo en ciertos puntos de la trama. La jugabilidad es excelente, mejorando la primera haciendo la más cruda y realista, el desarrollo de personajes es aceptable pudiendo haciendo lo mejor. Los nuevos personajes son buenos. En fin se puede estar mucho tiempo diciendo las cosas buenas y malas del juego pero si te gusta el primero y quieres ver cómo termina juega lo y disfrútalo. Para los que dicen que el juego es demasiado inclusivo lo dicen solo porque hay personajes que no son los típicos de los juegos y se piensan que por qué el mundo esta en un apocalipsis las personas LGBT van a desaparecer y molestarse por eso es de un completo idiota e ignorante. Para terminar el juego no es excelente ni una porquería ahí que ser honesto y tampoco traicionó la saga, si ahí que describirlo en pocas palabras sería un juego realista sin fanservice… Expand

    As for the story: it's quite a mess. there is an attempt to deconstruct the characters as violent agents in a violent world, but that message is ruined by constant soap opera level drama, character decisions that make absolutely no sense, a character arc that adds nothing to the themes the game works with, new characters that are nowhere near as interesting as for example Bill or Henry & Sam from the first game. Plus, a lot of reliance on shock value and not actual emotion, which makes the game feel more edgy than gritty and dark. The ending does deliver the overall message of the game effectively, but it's hurt by the fact that most of the game does not properly build-up for this climax, something the first one masterfully delivered on. Overall, very disappointed, and Naughty Dog should really think about the direction they wish to go, cause I'm not going with them.

    Pros:
    - Presentation is really, really great
    - Violence is (most of the time) used in an effective way
    - Some really atmospheric setpieces

    Cons:
    - New characters are mostly uninteresting
    - Nonsensical plot points
