    As a super die hard last of us fan this game left me feeling empty and cheated. Literally all this game has to offer is great graphics and a bit of fun combat but the story can simply go to hell.     Great visual style. The average gameplay. But the plot is terrible, this is an absolute abomination... seven years waiting for a great sequel and they create a ridiculous story like that. Change the screenwriter.

    Incredible game. I don’t know why people are review bombing this game, I’ve read a bunch of these low score reviews and you people obviously haven’t played the game. The game is incredible. Obviously nothing will be better than the first but this game is an amazing revenge story. The visuals are just incredible, so many small details packed into this it’s truly an incredible experience. The voice acting is, of course, the best of best. Don’t judge this game off of a few cutscenes you’ve seen, there is way too much you miss to be able to watch them out of context and think you have an opinion. To the idiots trying to review bomb, don’t review a game you haven’t played. No watching out of context cutscenes is not the same as playing the game.… Expand

    I'v played the game through and through. As someone that played tlou1 five times I am fully disappointed with the sequel. The game suffers from a large amount of inaccurate marketing not only regarding the story but the gameplay too. If Joel dies that is fine, he was murderer who arguably deserves to die. But if you are going to show him in the trailers making it seem that he will beI'v played the game through and through. But if you are going to show him in the trailers making it seem that he will be interacting with Ellie a lot and "not letting her do this on her own" then you are straight up lying and involving the story with the trailers, which is very weak for the writers to need support from. Secondly, the big bad new infected that they didn't want to spoil is just a bigger bloater that creates a smaller infected, and you only fight it once. There is no surprise there and the original bloater actually challenged me more. It did look cool tho. But that is all I'm giving the game points for: looking pretty. In the first game when I messed up a stealth section I was actually excited to work through it. In the sequel however I felt like I just wanted to get over it due to the repetitive encounters. Over all I respect naughty dog for attempting something so ambitious. But man did they pull a game of thrones on this game. I feel that asking for a refund for this game is kind of ridiculous because of how much effort went in to it. But man if naughty dog is just going to lie to us and make it boring for 20+ hours I think we deserve our money back. The product is not what the marketing promised on. Neil druckman said people will not like the direction of the story ect. and that is fair, but what he should have said is don't buy the game if you believed out trailers. Don't lie, do the right thing. Refund our money… Expand

    The Last of LGBT II - good story to kill series forever. Druckmann wanted to surprise us; he succeeded. The whole game was accompanied by a persistent sense of disgust and nausea.
    Gameplay+Graphic 6/10 like any other AAA class game...

    The game play is solid, but this is no action game, some people may find it slow and boring. It is basically the first game but a little bit more polished. The biggest improvements here are graphics (obviously) and level design. I liked that the enemy executions are varied (wish God of War had this many different executions).

    Story/writing: 2/10
    Too much plot induced stupidity, characters that were viewed as ruthless, intelligent and resourceful, commit mistakes and make ridiculous decisions just for plot advancing or to make the point the writers intended.

    Most characters are bland. All the new ones to be honest. Their gender and sexual preferences end being useless traits and are there just because.

    The story is dark and gritty just for the sake of it.

    The moral aspect of the story is shallow. Another revenge story that ends with "maybe violence is bad"?

    As they tried to shock the players and subvert expectations, they ended cutting Joel's screen time on the game, and since the main aspect of the story is Ellie and Joel relationship, the game became empty. They only interact meaningfully enough by flashbacks.

    Overall: 5/10
    Play this if you liked the game play and mechanics of the first game and want to experience some of the best graphics of the generation. Story-wise, as the continuation of the original, this game is bad.    … Expand

The marketing and trailers made it seem like certain characters would be more important just for certain specific characters (Joel) to get killed. This is known as false advertising. Fans didn’t know they would play half the game as a villain that nobody likes. If this game came out maybe 2 years after the 1st game it would make more sense for the terrible story and would generally work better at pushing their agenda but it’s too late now, the game made a lot of sales and there is nothing you can do.     The game is more fake than it is. 0815 Revenge story, the gay characters only exist because it is hip and current. The worst part is the boring gameplay. A would-be film. I'm a gamer and I always prefer cool gameplay to story. I also don't buy the characters. Everything very, very artificial.

Joel is a persecuted and very suspicious person, but suddenly he trusts a group he just met and even reveals his name to them, dies in an imbecile way at the beginning of the game even though he was one of the most important characters. Ellie witnessed everything and with that seeks revenge and kills literally everyone on her way to get to Abby, Joel's killer. However, in the end, she has a flashback of Joel, the one who was brutally killed by Abby and started it all, and then she just spares Abby and that's it. Is there any finale **** than that? It's literally like if John Wick in the final moments gave up of killing the guy who killed his dog. It's not even close to the greatness that the first game was and it's clearly not worth your money.… Expand

    A inteligência artificial dos inimigos não é perfeita mas os combates são tensos no bom sentido, principalmente quando enfrentamos infectados Perseguidores. A primeira vez que escutamos os Serafitas se comunicando com assobios também é intenso.

    O enredo é do tipo que te faz refletir sobre as pessoas assim como no Bioshock. Acredito que os flashbacks usados para contar a estória não teriam o mesmo impacto se fosse um filme, mas por ser um jogo de videogame, conseguem manter você engajado.

    Consegui ficar longe dos spoilers e uma das surpresas que tive me fez lembrar do Metal Gear Solid 2.    … Expand

    From start to finish this game had me on the fence.
    On one hand it is one of the most visually stunning games of our generation with excellent voice acting and some of the best MOCAP I have ever seen with some truly heartfelt moments.
    On the other hand you have a pretty scrappy revenge plot and some pretty thrown together story elements, a lot of time filler and little to no character    From start to finish this game had me on the fence.
    On one hand it is one of the most visually stunning games of our generation with excellent voice acting and some of the best MOCAP I have ever seen with some truly heartfelt moments.
    On the other hand you have a pretty scrappy revenge plot and some pretty thrown together story elements, a lot of time filler and little to no character dev outside the two main characters.
    With the heritage this game had and the ND at the helm it should have been nothing short of a masterpiece - but unfortunately these few bumps knocked it off course.

I decided to give it a try, I played the first one and I felt empathy with Joel and Ellie. They were trying to survive the desolation, destruction and bleak landscapes and cities. Joel was a pesimistic character and Ellie was a strong girl with attitude, Both characters were meant to each other, to support each other in order to survive and find a meaning to their journey, enduring hard choice and taking risks, and they made it but a what cost. So I wanted to see them again, to see what is the future this game prepared for them, together. BUT WHY THE F#:$'@ did you kill Joel on the very 2 hours of the game and forced me to play with a Shi#@y stupid character that killed him in front of Ellie. OH WOW SHOCK VALUE, AM I RIGHT GUYS? It works 1000% of the time. How this time could possibly fail? Well Neil, let me tell you... I played the game to play with Ellie and Joel, not with characters that belongs to a teenager telltale game with dull story and non-existent character development. You tried so hard to push a **** propaganda. I support diverstity, I'm gay but something I learn is that I don't have to shove to the face my beliefs or ideas, I need to educate, to make people aware, to show them that is normal to encounter people with different ways of thinking and living. But you instead pushed a really ankward relationship and a lot of unnecesary tension between Ellie and Dina. What make it worse is the driving plot of "I Will avenge Joel but at the very last minute I will show that killing is bad because that will make me a better person".... Dear god, if I only had trusted those leaks. You know what? I will request a refund. There is no replay value or fun, or even a decent story... Its just a shallow shadow sorrounded by darkness. What big studios are consistently revealing, whether it be with regard to movies or games, is that they ultimately do not understand what made fans come to love their series in the first place.

    Great visuals/graphics (in games) or special effects (in film) cannot compensate for competent storytelling and treatment of characters. And at various points, if you pay sufficient attention to character motivation and established traits, you will find yourself utterly baffled by the sheer amount of out-of-character behavior.

    I'll give the political dimension of the game some more detailed discussion. I'll preface by saying that I identify with a number of liberal/progressive/what some might call "social justice warrior" causes (I happen to be a minority myself). But even though I think these are good causes, that does not mean I enjoy being preached to or impelled to think a certain way. The tone of this game approaches preachiness at various points and REGARDLESS of what the message is, for people who think critically, there is NOTHING more likely to provoke an instinctive backlash than telling people how they ought to think.

    Diversity in media is a good thing, but the treatment of the characters in this game, who unarguably represent a range of diverse identities, is almost insultingly shallow and superficial. They remain largely uncharacterized and undeveloped beyond the single trait which the writers apparently think will suffice to speak for their whole person. If they were to try it all over again, I'd tell the studio to go for quality over quantity. Focus on investing your "X character" with more depth and dimensionality than "well he's the X character." Games and movies which choose not to develop their characters in these more nuanced ways may in fact harm more than help the causes they believe they are championing.

    I would probably give this game a -2 or -1 if that was possible, as I feel as though I actually lost something from my experience. Since that's not possible, a zero will have to do.    … Expand

    The game has good graphics and music, but the story, the most important thing is pure cringe. I mean, it's just pure political correctness to win some SJW points.
    This game should not have another sequel, they need to remake from zero the next part because this was awful.

Graficamente el juego puede ser fácilmente de lo mejor de la generación, mecánicamente el evadir no se me hace un añadido suficiente para una evolución de gameplay, el punto más bajo es su historia, trata de representar la violencia que se sufre en las situaciones más difíciles pero la de no hay héroes es este juego es vacía, sosa y sacada de "la manga", se nos había establecido incluso en cómics que los luciérnagas no eran realmente buenas personas, destruye su propia historia, un buen ejemplo de que no hay héroes en estas situaciones se vio reflejado en el juego de the walking dead del extinto estudio, quien justificaba sus actos. No debemos olvidar que esto es un juego y su único objetivo es entreter y ya que no cuenta con un modo multi jugador solo ofrece modo historia la cual es en pocas palabras es mala.     One of the best stories ive played or seen in years. When all the bad reviews were on here and i finished the game... 1.1% of people had the trophy for actually completing it. Amazing game for people who've actually played it. I feel sorry for all the people that leave bad reviews just to hurt a games rating. Sick people in this world. Also, if you don't like gay people in your games, yourOne of the best stories ive played or seen in years.     Outstanding sequel. I went in with high expectations and wasn't disappointed.
    Brilliant writing, excellent voice acting, gorgeously detailed settings and unbelievably well animated; I felt completely immersed. The game isn't predictable which is always refreshing and has an impressive playtime considering it is a single-player game without the open-world filler.
    Concerning the negative    Outstanding sequel. I went in with high expectations and wasn't disappointed.
    Brilliant writing, excellent voice acting, gorgeously detailed settings and unbelievably well animated; I felt completely immersed. The game isn't predictable which is always refreshing and has an impressive playtime considering it is a single-player game without the open-world filler.
    Concerning the negative reviews. After the DLC for the first game I was worried the game was going to sacrifice quality for diversity as I often see these days.     I... why should I write the reason why I give it a 0? The media, the makers, and those who "love" the game will just dimiss eveything I say based on my being "a racist, anti-lgbt incel", and all those other buzzwords. As if I had any issues with the characters in the first game...

    I'll only say this: games like the Last of Us are CHARACTER driven. There are no characters in this game, only marionettes forced to act and make decisions according to the writers' personal believes. This game's story is, and I'm DEAD SERIOUS, nothing short of propaganda, and not even LGBT propaganda neccessarily (although you can't blame me for thinking it is when all male characters in the game are either killed off or retired by the end of it).

    In other words, it qualifies as propaganda by the simple fact that the characters are (so blatantly) forced to act out the ideology and the world-view of the writers to the point of making ridicuouse decisions no person who survived so long in that world would make.

    Art, on the other hand, is creating characters (and setting up their pasts from the get-go!!!) so fully fleshed out that the story practically writes itself.

    I... just can't with this game. Abhorant. Abhorant writing. With games like this I don't care how pretty it looks. It's not why I was willing to pay 60 bucks. Jesus... this just made me even more furiouse. I wasted 60 f*cking dollars on this utter grabage.

    In a nutshell: this game's story feels like the experiment in story telling of an amateur, untalented, hack writer in college who thinks the world of himself... named Neil Druckman.

    The game has also a surprising number of glitches and bugs throughout. What did they work on for 7 years? It sure as hell wasn't the story.

    I gotta say... it's a really good game, but the 2nd half drags a lot. It picks up by the ending sections of the game but the actual ending it's what limits this game from being brilliant. You really have to process what happens at the end.

    The game is so amazing. The graphics down to the gameplay mechanics is spot on and amazing. The story is a 9/10 I understand every characters motives and back story on what they had to do. The game overall is a solid 10. Very fun a emotional roller coaster.

    Some gorgeous graphics, especially the wilderness scenes

    The bad:
    1. Horrendous rape scene starring Neil Druckmann and a transitioning female, looked like he was playing out some sexual power fantasy trip - definitely no affirmative consent given.
    2. Utterly linear ‘on rails’ game
    3. Mediocre ‘revenge’ plot
    4. Gameplay is really derivative, jump and climb adds nothing new
    5. Complete lack of environmental puzzles
    6. Terrible character design and development
    7. Poor dialogue
    8. Some of the biggest plot holes and events that entirely destroy the internal logic of the game.

    So if you’re looking for a nice looking game, that doesn’t allow you choices and character assassinates and butchers one of the most interested vg characters in the most pathetic way possible and is essentially a tedious monotonous snuff gore film - then this one’s for you

    Story 1/10 - Monotonous and internally inconsistent
    Game-play - 2/10 Repetitive sneak kill repeat
    Graphics - 8/10 beautiful scenes.
    Replayability - 0/10
    Overall 3/10 on the round up

    I enjoyed this game. There were a few parts where it seemed to drag, mostly the sections where you're going from A to B, zigging and zagging through derelict buildings. But other than that, it was a great ride and a cried more than once. Don't believe the trolls. Build your own opinion.

After dodging spoilers left and right, I finally played the game through and was happy to beat it. The visuals and the scenes were awesome and beautiful. Combat was a plus from the last game and enemies felt more real and combat was explosive. I want to state the bad. After the death of Joel, I felt Ellie did not grieve enough and the trip to Seattle was too quick. Abby had her revenge completed and Ellie fell flat in the end by letting her go. Ellie killed Abby's friends and that was a plus, but I did not feel bad for them really. The Joel flashbacks would have been sooo much better if it was chronological from the start of the game. Maybe 1 flashback would have been fine. The Abby flashback was great and after laughing for years about how Joel killed the doctor with a scalpel, I did feel bad about it in this game. Also, the trip to California was really short and fell flat and was unexciting. I assumed I would get a couple more hours of gameplay, but it was roughly about 1 hour. I can see that this game was meant about loss and revenge for Joel. Jesse's death was sad and out of nowhere. A great character is killed and the only thing we see left of Jesse is a picture on the farm.Issac would have been a better character, but his screen time was really weak. Seeing that the fireflies are still around is cool and could open up to another game. The Scars were awesome and i loved the whistle call outs they did. WLF was neat and the community they had was alive and interesting. I thought Tommy died near the end and slammed my fist down on my desk, so I was emotionally attached to the story and that was all the mattered to me. I enjoyed the hell out of this game and will play it again to get the trophies. The last of us 1 was my favorite game of all time, but this one did not top that. Thank You.… Expand

    Not only is this the best PS4 game I would argue it's the best game in a decade. Truly a marvel in every sense of the word. Compelling story in an incredibly well r realized world. Cannot wait to start up a new game. This is a must buy.

    The plot of TLOU2 is absolute diarrhea. Joel dies 2 hours into the game after naively going into the house of total strangers (being an old and experienced survivor in the apocalypse we'd expect some brighter thinking), beaten to death with a golf club by the super buff and masculine Abby, whose life he saved from the infected not 5 minutes earlier, because he killed her father who was a surgeon of the fireflies. All in front of Ellie who later leaves for Seattle, where Abby came from, in search for revenge.
    The problem is that Ellie never gets her revenge because, when she's finally about to kill Abby after Abby bit two fingers off of her hand, she has a flash of Joel playing the guitar and that stops her. This happens some time after Abby had killed Jesse, shot Tommy in the face and almost cut Dina's throat in the same event. Yes, it's just as dumb as it sounds...
    The game forces you to play a 10 hour section as Abby from when her father was still alive to the point when she kills Jesse and shots Tommy. Up next there's a boss fight against Ellie and you have to beat her up using Abby's steroid fueled fists until Dina comes to the rescue with a knife (apparently she forgot she had a gun) and is shot in the shoulder by Lev, the little girl who identifies as a boy or whatever. Again it's just as dumb as it sounds.
    The whole story really is about Ellie killing people for revenge and feeling bad about it and Abby being generally a bad person, having sex with a guy who has a pregnant wife (disgusting scene by the way) and later killing her own WLF friends and acquaintances to save Lev's life.
    So not only Joel was killed in a disgraceful manner and you'll barely get 90 minutes of gameplay with him but you'll be forced to play as the genuinely unlikable, ruthlessly bad and masculine looking woman who killed him and the game will try so hard to make you feel for her by showing you her perspective. And to make matters worse, she doesn't die in the end (thought that was the Ellie's purpose?).

    I watched the leaks when they came out so I knew about Joel's death and everything but, as the game is about 25 hours long, I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking that would fit the narrative and Naughty Dog wouldn't mess up the game so badly but that's exactly what happened.
    To be fair the game has lots of significant improvements in terms of graphics and gameplay but in my opinion they are overshadowed by the terrible story which is so full of plot holes, uninteresting, badly written and incredibly boring. I also hated to play as Abby and particularly Ellie boss fight so much that I finished the game only because I spent money.
    If you don't mind the plot I think you'll enjoy TLOU2, but I didn't so I've uninstalled it and I'll give it a 0 for making me sorry I wasted my money on this crap.    … Expand

There are numerous plot holes, like Deana magically surviving with no explanation, and no one seeming to care about Jesse being gunned down. Trailers told us that Joel would be with us on the journey but an hour in and he’s gone. The writers then take the hilarious decision to force the player to play as Joel’s killer for 10+ hours and try to gain your sympathy for her.

    And to top it off the ending is one of the most unsatisfying I’ve ever seen. To start , Abby confronts Ellie after she killed all of Abbys friends and has no one left, but decides to spare her for no apparent reason. Then when it seems Ellie has finally got revenge and killed Abby after killing a huge amount of enemies, risking her and her friends lives and travelling all across Seattle, she spares her. Naughty dog clearly thought the player would’ve gained sympathy for Abby and would be happy that neither her or Ellie were killed, but that is far from the truth.

    The Last of Us is my favourite game of all time and I’ve never been this excited for a sequel, 7 years I’ve waited just to be disappointed and angry after playing what felt like a chore for several hours. I do not recommend this game to anyone except hard core Naughty dog fans but I’m sure they will be just as disappointed as I was when the credits roll.    … Expand

    they fired the actual game developer so that a dog called duckmann could develop it. good job duck you **** ruined it. utterly garbage game. its a game. I'm supposed to have a good time but instead, I got high blood pressure from the anger.

    Please ignore the review bombers and experience this game for yourself. It's a beautifully told story about revenge, and morality. I don't want to say too much to avoid giving anything away, so if anybody is reading this, invest your time into this story. It's worth it.

    I've just finished the game and it was wonderful. My only critic was about one part, in the second half of the story (to make it "spoiler free" let's call it the "Island part") that felt out of place in the main story.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
