    This game is so impressive i can’t even start describing it. It made me feel so many things and completely immersed me in its world. Its a strong story, not easy to digest at times, which just makes it so much better. Mechanically, this game feels great, with a lot of freedom in choosing your play style and i would even go as far as comparing it to mgs v. An absolute must play.

    The last of us 2 es el mejor juego de esta generación, es muy bueno y a mi si me gusto.
    El sonido y el doblaje, es lo mejor que tiene, la banda sonora y graficos muy buenos.
    Puedo decir que lo disfruté mucho pero arruinaron a los personajes

    This game is fantastic. I believe practically everyone who tried to bash this game was influenced by youtube hater reviews and Joel's death. I was one of them, I assure you (Unfortunately). But yeah, that was an emotional roller coaster as I was playing the game. I've never played something similar before. I thought Naughtydog nailed it, and I liked every bit of it!

    I've played the game for 9 hours so far. In my experience, its one of the richest storytelling experiences I've ever played. Easily.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game will be looked at as a historical benchmark in pushing games forward. For a comparison, in the film industry, you have the illustrious Oscars. The best movie award is an achievement of top master craft. The Games Awards is something Geoff Keighley has built up well, but it does not have quite the esteem to the general populace that the Oscars do.

    The Last of Us Part 2 is a game that has the kind of levels of quality to be that kind of level of game for the games industry, that is, an all time great.

    The game is about love, hate, revenge, forgiveness, and letting go among other things. The creator said it’s about revenge but that was being tight lipped to not spoil things before release, I suggest people listen to the Kinda Funny spoiler podcast with Neil, Ashley, and Troy for insigh.

    This game is also set during 3 days for the majority of its time,

    I may come back and write up an even more thorough review, but I want to speak to the hate toward the game.

    Some people have subjective takes on the gameplay or story elements that the game is just not their style. That’s fine. Unfortunately there is a troll/hate train on this game for varieties of reasons. One, Neil and Naughty Dog are being accused of being SJW and having a political agenda. Just because a studio is more liberal and wants to tell stories with characters we typically don’t see does not mean there is a nefarious purpose. This has generated heat.

    Additionally,, things happen in the story people just don’t like. Joel dies, You play as the person who kills Joel. Through the process of all the hatred and killing and loss Ellie ultimately does not kill Joel’s killer when given the chance.

    That’s simplifying a very engaging gaming storyline with great characters, immense action, and tons of suspense.

    Those who don’t “like” some of the direction of the story are mistaking their emotions with actual quality. The game is extremely well written with some exceptions. Example: in killing people Ellie drops a map. On said map, she has their hideout obviously circled. This is one thing I agree with naysayers on, that is a little too convenient to the story of their hq being found.

    One small example but a majority are people just hating because they don’t like the direction.

    Others try to say there is no character development which is silly. Both protagonists develop quite a bit, one character who is great devolves by the end, and many, many people die. Flashbacks do a big part of the development for more essential characters and as I stated in the beginning - the game main,y takes place over 3 days - if you are expecting development for supporting characters in a 3 day time period you are crazy. The characters had well defined personalities and those given the screen time were fantastic.

    Particularly fantastic was the brother/sister combination of Lev/Yara. Prerelease people thought Abby (I had stepped around her name until now but she kills Joel) was going to be trans because she is muscular. Lev is actually trans, born into TLOU2 word perceived as female by her group but he is a male. Dina is an awesome love interest for Ellie and both (Abby and Ellie) are surrounded by a variety of fun supporting characters in Tommy, Owen, Manny, Mel, and Jesse. There are some more characters but those are ones with more screen time.

    There are no heroes in The Last of Us. Joel was a Hunter in a past life before smuggling and meeting Abby. He committed horrible acts before we played as him. He also killed a whole hospital of Fireflies and stopped the cure. (I have no regrets there).

    Abby is no better by brutally killing Joel.

    Ellie is not any better by tracking down and killing Abby’s friends either.

    Moral ambiguity, grey area, etc. is the world of this show. There is no good versus evil.

    It reminds me of our extremely divided times here in the US. I see a comparison in the left vs the right in Ellie bs Abby. A vicious cycle back and forth where no one is really winning and so man6 peop,e are so laser focused on getting that next chunk out of their opponent that they aren’t stopping to consider how they can heal themselves and the world. Just as those offended by this game feel the need to go on hateful rants about it.

    Speaking of the hate - look at the #’s. God of War with 13,000 submissions for ratings. This game is over 80,000 or soon there! Craziness.

    I do believe the game effected people emotionally enough to drive more reactions than GoW, but 80,000 and barely even out? There is an agenda of hate here. With the growth of social media we have trolls and haters who just get their rocks off on hating. Whether they truly hate something or take pleasure in piling on, it’s a fact.

    Again, people can have subjective dislikes and not be in this hateful group.

    You need to play the full game to understand the love in this game which is about hate and revenge. Complete the campaign and I am sure that you will change your review Even I was skeptical to play the story from Abby point of view once again. I didn't enjoy seattle day 1, 2 with her a lot. But we eventually love her journey with Lev after war sequence which was intense.

    Every QTE event then between Ellie & Abby had my hurt pumping as I didn't want to lose both of them. That's the impact this game will give you.

How did Naughty Dog manage to bring themselves to tear down one of the most impactful, well written and executed, memorable games ever made and then try to manipulate you into liking Joel’s killer? This game sold itself on being a revenge plot but it’s so half assed and watered down it absolutely falls flat. It drops it rather fast to then force you to play as the person you’ve been wanting to kill for over 6 hours. This game is full of cliches, soap opera melodrama, contrived circumstances, terrible writing, and grating pacing. The flashbacks are used mostly terribly. It’s so bad, there’s even a flashback within a flashback within a dream. Not only does it destroy the pacing further it absolutely takes you out of the moment and makes the weak narrative it’s trying to push even more complicated for no really good reason. I honestly can’t blame the review bombers. While I’d normally not condone it, in this case I do. It’s absolutely shameless and just another indicator how SJW and woke agenda is destroying the entertainment industry, not caring how it destroys the legacy of a series. This needs to stop. I’m pretty sure they’re going to make The Last Of Us Part III. I hope after this absolute misfire they get it right. I hope that it’s not going to be a case of The Last Of Us being a case of lightning in a bottle.… Expand

It’s brutal, it’s dark, it’s sad, it’s depressing, it’s beautiful, all at the same time. I have never been so invested in a story, you feel the way the characters feel, there is no disconnect. And theA true masterpiece to behold!! The gameplay, graphics, music, sound design, and attention to detail are unparalleled. That’s already a 10/10. But the story, my word, it’s insane. It’s brutal, it’s dark, it’s sad, it’s depressing, it’s beautiful, all at the same time. I have never been so invested in a story, you feel the way the characters feel, there is no disconnect.     Honestly, I loved it. I thought that the gameplay was smooth and fun to play. The additional skills that Ellie can use makes traversal a lot more fun and creative. Seattle is one of the most beautiful and detailed locations in a game to date, and the other locations are not far behind.

    For me the story was good. It was compelling and made me want to keep playing. The voice acting is the best in any game that I have ever played. Ellie is the stand out star when it comes to the acting. The addition of some 'romantic' scenes did feel a bit forced, but overall the relationships between certain characters were compelling and I genuinely cared about them a lot.

    My verdict - play it. It's a fantastic game. The gameplay is extremely fun and the story should ahem you on the edge of your seat. You may not like the game, and that's ok, but I think that both the 10/10 and 0/10 reviews are slightly bias. Play the game for yourself and see what you thin, I promise that you won't be completely disappointed.    … Expand

The acting of Ashley Johnson as Ellie and Troy Baker as Joel is wonderful. The hardwork of Naughty dogs has paid of. Joel is died in first 3 hours of game but people are mad they don't know the story but they have to post negative reviews. If you guys purchase the game then you have to complete the game then make your opinion and then came here and post your reviews. If look at Red dead redemption original on PS3 and Xbox 360 in this game the main protagonist has died in last part of game then people have no opinions and they can't post negative reviews and make ratings 3.4 not making comments on rockstar games but in this game Joel died people are going mad.     Hands down, one of the best games I have ever played. Still in early stages of the game will be playing rest of the weekend. Just wanted to pass on my early impressions. Not sure what’s up with the hateful comments and ludicrous low scores. This game is GOTY!

    This completely raises the bar for gaming as a whole. Naughty Dog has thrown down the gauntlet and set a whole new standard of artisanship, story writing, world building, detail, and animation. Gameplay takes TLOU into a whole new universe while expanding on the energy that made the first game so immersive. Now it’s up to every other gaming studio to try and keep up...

You were warned 3 or 4 years ago that the game was about HATE AND LOSS, so to hate this game solely because Joel gets killed is ridiculous. Do you expect him to live forever in this world? The story is SO intense, I cried, I got angry a lot of times, and I felt like I really was the character. Some decisions are unpredictable, and the ending was tough and cruel, but totally understandable, considering all that happened.     The game always reminds you about its violence, only to yell 'hey, maybe revenge is bad' at the end. No part of this story makes sense.

    People who rated badly the game without having played it or because of the lgbtq + momentum, or because of the political factor, show how sad and unworthy the base becomes each day. YOU DON'T DESERVE WELL PRODUCED GAMES, BUT THE TRASH THAT COMPANIES MAKES REMASTER / REMAKE THEIR GAMES. The only thing that you all do is jerk off and feel like can critic something.

    A beautiful game with a deadly and cruel environment, but it is also packed with heartwarming moments. You feel as much motivated to move forward as the main character. Good story, one of the best acting performances in gaming history. And the gameplay is just as perfect as you would expect from a Naughty Dog game.

    This is a surprisingly great game made to take you on an emotional rollercoaster, which it succeeds at as the story jumps back and forth between the past and the present. This is also one of it's major flaws as you really need to have played the previous game recently (or remember it well) for a lot of the story beats to make sense.

    The place where the game shines is in the gameplay and graphics department, with some beautifully realised post apocalyptic cityscapes that have been reclaimed by nature plus many encounters can be passed depending on your playstyle, go in guns blazing or sneak around quietly.
    But I did notice the occasional pop-in, with one time being deadly when wires to a bomb trap did't show until the last second, but upon replaying the section were highly visible.
    So for me it was a fun pretty romp just let down by poor story pacing and a few small graphical bugs.    … Expand

Perhaps for the haters the ending was too complex to understand, things did not go as they wanted and they stick to every little thing to evaluate 0/4/3/1 .... embarrassing evaluations and not to be taken into consideration. If my English is incorrect, it's because I'm not English.
    You have to try the game. You can explore and see things that don't appear on gameplay videos if one doesn't explore. I've played twice already and I never get tired. even in fights there are so many possibilities. and the plot is simple sad raw but true. The ending is something spectacular if you think about it. Haters cry because the stark reality of how life really is. Abby ... people don't understand that on the other side there are people with whom you can empathize even though they did what they did ... because they had a reason.     Hollow revenge storyline. They destroying what they build up in the first game. Unlikable character got too much screentime to the point of playable. Saving grace only in graphic upgrade but really can't tolerate the disgraceful story telling as a whole game.

    What is wrong with you people? The game is very good. You are histerical like with the GoT ending- everybody imagined it would be different and hated the series, but you are not authors, you are consumers. Write your own story and sell it. Who is blocking you?

    I will start with the easy stuff and advance through the harder and the more controversial stuff.

    Technical quality is top of the industry both in graphics and audio, it isn't a surprise but this achievement is even more impressive that the game is on the Playstation 4 console that is almost 7 years old at this point. But the more impressive part is the attention to details that makes this game so immersive.

    Gameplay is much improved over it's predecessor and level design is simply amazing with some influence from Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy. it's nothing revolutionary but it's a natural evolution of a everything that was in The Last of Us. New types of enemies added to the game and older enemies are refined and feel more unique than before, with a well done AI that made my experience more challenging with the higher difficulty like I wanted.
    I also like the slight change in gameplay throughout the game, although at the start it felt like a startover, it quickly picked up and was refreshing.

    All the extra options and accessibility in the game is simply amazing, I haven't used them but the amount of stuff you can modify in the game from a custom difficulty and changes to HUD all the way to modifications that change the experience drastically that can be count as cheats for some people that have no need for those modifications. This is an amazing addition and I hope more singleplayer game will take note and implement stuff like that, I love when we get more options to choose how we want to experience a game to suit us.

    I personally liked the story and think that it truthful for the first game, but I do understand why this is so controversial and understand why some people are upset with the story itself and not necessarily the level of writing. Story about the cycle of violence is nothing new, like most other things unfortunately, so the execution is what matters here and in my opinion I think it was well done although a bit flawed. Naughty Dog used the fact this is a game and not a movie or something else to enhance the story by dragging the player to do things he doesn't necessarily want to do. I can't recall when I experienced that in a game before, I might have but usually I feel rewarded by story in games and that what makes this game standout for me.

    side note: I remember that the first game was planed to be a single game and after it was release Naughty Dog said they will make another game only if they got a story that they want to tell. Well that was that story they wanted to tell and I respect that a lot because they took huge risk here and all the controversies show it, I hope people will accept it and move on instead of try to bully the developers to give them what they want. I do think it was a bit blown out of proportion as a result from the leak.

    to conclude, I do recommend this game a lot, it's brilliant in all the technical stuff and the gameplay is very good. you might not like the story itself or certain parts of it, but give it a chance even when it's hard especially if you liked the first game. This is something you got to experience for yourself if you are a fan of the first game or those kind of games.    … Expand

    Conclusion : Great Game. Nice job ND. Looking forward on PS5.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. El juego me gustó en mecánica, gráficos, jugabilidad, banda sonora y la parte de recuerdos que tiene Ellie con Joel.
    El punto negativo que comparto con todos es la muerte de Joel (en el sentido que carece de lógica, fue muy rápida y simple). Creo que ND se hubiera esforzado al máximo para vendernos una muerte más creíble( y épica de preferencia).
    ND tiene dos caminos para "arreglar" este enojo de usuarios, o puede arriesgarse en sacar un 3er juego basándose en la vida de Joel desde la muerte de Sarah hasta que conoce a Tess ya que aquí puede haber potencial de una historia u olvidarse y crear una nueva franquicia a la altura de Uncharted y Crash Bondicoot. La primera es muy arriesgada pero puede "mejorar" ese error, la segunda muy fácil pero dejará esa marca en TLOU2, la decepeción de varios.    … Expand

    El juego está muy bien. intente no ir con las respectivas muy altas para no decepcionarme, de momento en lo que va de juego he reido, he llorado, he sentido tensión, miedo, impotencia y montones de sentimientos más que no imaginé sentir con un juego. Es lamentable las malas críticas por ideales primitivos, es un juego que merece la pena jugar.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
