    Yesterday I finished the story of the game and I loved it, I really do not understand the bad reviews of others. Nor do I say it is the perfect game but it is not as bad as others accuse it

    It is true, the story is not what i expected or wanted, it assumes a lot of risks but fails to deliver in the end. But the gameplay, music and atmosphere are very well done and puts you in the mood. AI on higher dificulties is very engaging and actually you feel like you are haunted by the enemies. Graphics are very well done, especially in open areas and in the tunnels. Though the gameIt is true, the story is not what i expected or wanted, it assumes a lot of risks but fails to deliver in the end. But the gameplay, music and atmosphere are very well done and puts you in the mood. AI on higher dificulties is very engaging and actually you feel like you are haunted by the enemies. Graphics are very well done, especially in open areas and in the tunnels.     I play first part on ps3 and ps4, and wait for this 7 year, and thing is that part 2 is masterpiece in all segment, and definetly game of the century, Great work Naugty Dog!!

    Gamers these days are just toxic and mad, so annoying. Sure the story could be better but its still a masterpiece. Nobody would expect this one person to die right in the begining and the story line is also good and really nice, The character devolepment is insane, so i dont know whats the porblem. Also you cant rate a game with "0-3" if the whole gamplay and graphics is insane and onlyGamers these days are just toxic and mad, so annoying.     The game is intense, and has really toching moments that make you want to stretch and hang on to them. Only Ellie gets a plot armor, and that makes the danger of the loved characters die very real. Overall, even after finishing it, the game will be struck in your head for a very long time.

    Absolutely floored by the gameplay. The level of detail & fluid combat is so satisfying, not to mention the replay-ability these maps offer is AAA. The environments have so much depth, SO good, PLEASE GIVE US MULTIPLAYER! I’d love to also see DLC’s like left behind & more content branching off this spectacular combat system. I need more. It's a 25-30 hour game, so most of these reviews are from ppl who are only partially through the game. I know what happened. Everyone seen that "you know who" died. Turned the game off, and ran to give they're bad review. I get it. I was upset to. But the more I played. The more I realized what they did was pure genius. I was so upset about Joel dying that I didn't want to give Abby a chance. And before I realized it, she was growing on me. And tbe reason for that was because her and joel are alot alike. What she did was fucmed up. But so was a lot of what Joel did. We never got to see Joel do a bunch of terrible things, we just heard about them. This game was more about abbys character transformation, the same transformation we seen joel make in the original. This game is an absolute masterpiece, and I hope it will get the credit it deserves in time. I know everyone wanted another Joel and Abby Story, I did too. But what we got was so much better… Expand

    Everyone involved in this game should be proud of themselves.
    This game is so damn good.
    Guitar mechanics, graphics (especially hair), story telling all fantastic.
    It's definitely not for everybody, but it's an experience that was worth the seven year wait.
    I'll need another 7 years before I can play again to recover from the emotional trauma.
    So proud of everyone involved!!
    10/10.

    The music is astoundingly good as well. The 3D audio is unreal, making especially the stealthy scenes extremely tense. Imagine sneaking through a dark, moist grotto loaded with infected, with no ammo and nothing but a weak flashlight beam and your knife. Extremely well done.

    If anything, this is a masterpiece and more than a worthy successor to Part I. This is Naughty Dogs most ambitious game thusfar.    … Expand

    This game is getting alot of undeserved critic. Alot of comments from angry Trolls, alot of the reviews are written so early that there is no chanse they have completed the game. I have played for 10 hours, the gameplay is fantastic, graphic are amazing. This is easy one of my top 3 games on PS4.

    Dont get fooled by many of these fake reviews, try the game atleast!

    Best game I have played in a while. Don't believe the negative hype. This is a beautifully tragic story that stays faithful to the feel of the first game. Just because you get sad doesn't make it a bad game - that is the intention. There is no political agenda in this game.

I get that it's uncomfortable to play as Abby, that people were upset about the death of Joel and they wanted revenge. I think this game is simply beautiful. To sum it up, I am glad that the road to a dehumanized Ellie stopped. I really like the evolution of characters and how they try to mess up with out moral code. Considering it's an apocalyptic scenario, feeling some empathy it's rare, which makes Ellie and Abby two great characters.… Expand

    My first impression is wow ... the graphics are great ... A walk in the city, the graphics are great, the atmosphere is like a Swiss resort, Gustavo Santoalala plays the banjo.
    I continue with Ellie! She can barely get out of bed. I close my eyes ... it's a coincidence, isn't it. New character, Conan or Abby, whatever you choose. She's looking for something or someone anyway! I see the new mechanics, I'm very happy. It begins ... clickers, runners and all sorts of others surround her ... and, Oh you see the prince with a pure heart comes. Philanthropist Joel saves her.
    Yes. And the naive, foolish good-natured Joel enters and staying with a group of strangers armed to the teeth. I do not accept it, absolute nonsense and nonsense. It was shocking.

    I go for fresh air….after this crap I think I'm done with this game... continue

    A few new things ... the weapon upgrades are great. New stealth challenges that I approve of. And yet ... the feeling does not leave me, it is always with me and the hope to get a positive feeling begins to diminish. I'm moving through Seattle, but somehow without a purpose ... to chase the bad guys yes, but there's something that's not right. It doesn't grab you, you kind of play heartlessly. There is a slight shift in the center of the story here ... it's not a little it's huge, but everyone will see and judge it.
    We look at Conan's life ... as if I'm interested. I turned off the game and couldn't stand it.
    I grit my teeth and move on. Good! There are other skills, etc ... but it's not Ellie or Joel, if Conan was Gandhi, it's still disgusts me.
    Yes! There are brutally beautiful views that I can not deny. I can't deny that I'm even interested ... but I'm waiting for my revenge ... and I'm waiting ... I'm waiting for half a game.
    Conan decided to save two kids ... not bad, but you're not human, how come you suddenly decided to be Mother Teresa. And the game went to another world, another storyline, another feeling. Conan I won't like you it's 100% sure!
    I keep waiting for the collision, the meeting ... this is my catharsis. And here he comes !!!!

Your beloved characters is beaten to death by a group that he saves in front of his “adopted” daughter and brother, who both swear revenge, kill a whole lot of people, get a whole lot of people killed and in the end don’t even finish what they started. The gameplay becomes mundane after an hour, you’re forced to play as a character you care nothing about and you’ll feel forced in a linear script that seems rather outdated to do things that make extremely little sense

    . Characters personalities appear to have been completely remade, intelligence is dropped significantly and you’re forced to kill pregnant women and animals. While the game truly does showcase the worst of humanity in an extremely interesting light, it completely undoes the first game, taking away all credit the company could have possibly gained from said game. All in all, the game is a forced perspective of someone trying to top their previous master piece in what feels like a 14 year old edge lords favorite fan fiction. The dialogue drops in quality tremendously this game, making characters feel awkward and clumsy. Character development is entirely absent. Nothing is gained in the story, they leave little room for you to want to continue the story of either Ellie or Joel’s murderer Abby. But hey, the graphics are top notch.    … Expand

    Amazing everything is improved obviously but they are all so well balanced that it is exciting how they managed it. The story is great... the character development amazing. You have to play it to understand exactly what I am saying. If you you loved the first game you will love this one too.

    I’m about halfway through so far, so I haven’t finished it yet. But this game is utterly brilliant. The settings, fears, anxieties, moods, etc. are blended together perfectly to create an extremely authentic and relevant experience. If you are a fan of cerebral apocalyptic horror, then I highly highly recommend this game. The characters are thoroughly entertaining and the graphics areI’m about halfway through so far, so I haven’t finished it yet. But this game is utterly brilliant. The settings, fears, anxieties, moods, etc. are blended together perfectly to create an extremely authentic and relevant experience. If you are a fan of cerebral apocalyptic horror, then I highly highly recommend this game. The characters are thoroughly entertaining and the graphics are sublime. I really don’t get the negativity.     He (Joel) had A Thing that he didn't like people, He didn't trust people. So why would he go "I'm Joel" Like we lost that character. I think if Ellie would have walked in and say "Hey Joel who are your friends?" Or something like that, then maybe people would look at it differently. Like picture this.

    Ellie finds Joel and says "Hey... Who are your new friends Joel?" in a laughing tone. Then they same thing happened. Sept they Hold Ellie down... Then actually shoot Joel, Instead of torturing him. Then sure Ellie would have gotten revenge. (KINDA LIKE THE GAME) Sept the ending is different.

    She actually stabs, Abby (The most hated game character) Then Ellie would take care of the kid (for d.l.c if they did that) Then Ellie trains that kid to be better than Ellie, Ellie would train Lev to be better than Abby/Ellie. Sure the kid would see Abby dead (He'd wake up) But he would have Learned that's Life, BECAUSE After Ellie saw Joel die she learned. That's a part of life and You have to live with that. I started the game with a neutral mind ( I knew people were upset about something before it even launched but I ignored because dure to spoilers and I didn't watch any reviews). After a few minutes, I knew this experience will be special and after beating it, I can confidently say that this game deserves the 10/10 rating. Joel and Ellie Joel deserved more as the main character from the first game. 1Joel is not that dumb or trusting. Abbie or Debbie whatever her/his name is could not have taken him alone so they ambushed him. Again Joel wouldn’t have let that happen. Este juego me ha decepcionado, la historia es sumamente mediocre, la muerte de joel no tiene base alguna, este juego descarta completamente los eventos del juego anterior, El juego quiere que empaticemos con un personaje con un trasfondo histórico de 10 minutos como lo es Abby, el desarrollo de los personajes no tiene sentido, vemos a un Joel súper confiado siendo que en la primera parte no confiaba en nadie, una Ellie resentida con Joel, el ser que más ama en el mundo en la primera parte, cuando matan a Joel deciden dejar viva a Ellie, cosa que no tiene sentido, pues ella es un obvio cabo suelto que buscara venganza.

    y ese es solamente el inicio de los males de este juego, la jugabilidad se vuelve repetitiva, muchas de las horas en el juego son literalmente relleno y resultan desesperantes, como los generadores y puertas en seattle, las largas marchas a caballo y la falta de una correcta dirección al jugador a través del mapa, lo que hace exageradamente fácil el perderse.

    Volviendo a la historia, el final del juego es totalmente inaceptable, Ellie, luego de abandonar a Dina y su bebe, de matar a medio mundo a sangre fría, al final del juego se pone sentimental y perdona a Abby por literalmente matar a la persona que más ama, algo que es un total sinsentido puesto que literalmente viajó por meses para encontrarla y mató muchísima gente por todo el camino para poder vengarse, pero al final decide arrepentirse y volver con Dina, para encontrarse que esta no estara mas en su vida, quitándole absolutamente todo el sentido a los eventos tanto del primer como del segundo juego, Habrá quien diga que las malas notas que recibe este juego se deben a la homofobia o intolerancia, pero no tiene nada que ver, la historia en si misma es la que esta mal, si la homofobia fuese la causante de las malas criticas, left behind no tendria 7.5 en esta misma plataforma, no justifiquemos a las compañías, lo que paso con este juego es simple y sencillamente inaceptable.    … Expand

    For me it was impossible for a game to be better then TLOU part 1, but part 2 actually did it. What a masterpiece. People will hate it for a long time, but they’ll get over it and see how good it actually is, just like when they hated the ending of the first game.

    We, as the player can use the opposites view to feel the same story, one hero can be the most hated enemy for another, this is another breaking point of Naughty Dog.
    Gameplay is enjoyable, graphic is as good as lifelike.

Story - I can't remember last time the game made me crying so lot. The "event" with Joel is very strong and truly right, cause we need new characters and the're good enough to love them. Playing 2 chars in 1 time is good way to tell us their story, motivations etc. You get into both characters. Some events are predictable but it doesn't make the story bad. The only thing is the ending, I got mixed feelings about it but I can't lower my score cause I really love this amazing game.… Expand

    Really just Joel and Ellie running around the country again getting into mayhem again with better graphics is all everyone wanted?

    I loved the first game. I got the platinum. With this game i was ready for something different. Not only was the narrative different it was clever and it resonated.

    Does anybody realize that ND wanted everyone to hate abby? They gave no reason to like her at first. She killed joel after joel and tommy saved her. We knew she had a reason but damn she killed joel!!

    This is now a revenge game in our minds for 15 hours. We gotta get that ****

    Then the confrontation comes and we bam switch to abby.

    I dont see why people say that naughty dog forced the sympathy with abby. Shes still an incredibly flawed women. She is "a piece of **** as mel says. She also was ready to happily slit dina's throat after she found out she was pregnant.

    What we do find out is her motivation for killing joel. She spent 4 years making herself a weapon of revenge.

    While she watches her friends die over 3 days she tries to get some of what she was before her father died back by helping lev.

    In the end letting go of hate is the theme here for both women.

    I truly loved the experience of last of us 2 the gameplay was great the visuals where top notch and the game surprised me which is all that i could hope for.    … Expand

So, love it or hate it, they've succeeded and probably they love what's happening right now.

    I've finished this game (trophy said that only 15% of gamers finished it currently) and it's just unbelievable. I've never been so emotionally gutted like this by any game. I've cried a little at the end (I didn't cried at the first one, which I love). From gameplay mechanics it's definitely not perfect (but best "arenas" or "levels" are near the second half/ending of the game) but still it's a 10 from me because no other game accomplished this level of writing, directing and acting. No other game is leaving you with that level of emptiness. I don't think that any other game showed you that you won't accomplish anything from hate except senseless violence with no rewards on any level.

    It is a great story with beautiful graphics and good gameplay/mechanics. It's not perfect but no game is perfect. Leave your expectations, take a deep breath and give this story a chance. Just trust those authors. You won't be disappointed.    … Expand

Can't say I missed anything. Going through repetitive gameplay mechanics, just for an obvious and underwhelming ending you can see coming from a mile away, just wasn't worth it. The graphics will make you awe for an hour or so, then it loses its magic.

    The first game had a DLC that was ten times more satisfying when it comes to a cute relationship, this one just felt like teen soap opera with an annoying amount of GOT style deaths. Almost everyone felt empty and out-of-character except Tommy, and I couldn't feel even a single grain of sympathy for Abby throughout the whole game, in fact I just wanted her to die. I don't care what kinda sob story she has, she was irredeemable after what she had done in the first hour of the game.

    I am disappointed, and sad. So much potential has been wasted simply due to bad writing and deceitful marketing.    … Expand

    That was awesome. I am grateful to the developers and I have a message to all those who believe in bad reviews and write them. Just don't. Have the courage to face harsh stories. Sometimes in life you have a sad moments, rough moments. You need to face it and go on. This game is not about sweet **** It is... about real **** And its damn good.
