-One of the best looking games I’ve ever played
    -Level design
    -Shootouts/Melee

    Cons:
-Second half is a snooze fest
    -Only one stealth kill animation
    -Story is lackluster
-No upgradeable storage for ammo and most supplies

I really enjoyed the first 7 or 8 hours, I loved exploring Seattle when first arriving and checking things off the map. Unfortunately that is short lived and there are no more open map sections of the game. The stealth system in the game is ok, but the stealth takedown is SO repetitive, how in the hell did they only give each character 1 stealth takedown animation? Not being able to do a stealth takedown with your melee weapon is a total bummer as well.

The whole Abby play through was such a drag and I felt most of it was a pointless time filler and would of been better off as a dlc. Overall pretty bummed but it definitely has a couple great moments. Wait for it to go on sale.

If anything, this "non-game" should be a wake up call to how far removed mainstream critics are from the players.

Cinematic experience on rail that is not fun might be okay for media contributor that only needs to go through this thing lightly once, but is that what ordinary players that don't have a philosophy degree want?

Don’t believe the brigading incel mob. The mechanics are updated. The visuals are bigger, pushing the ps4 to it’s max. After playing it back to back with remastered, the improvements are jaw dropping.

The difference, and why this has 9x the (spam) reviews of huge games like God of War, is there’s a gay female protagonist. That makes some dudes really really mad.

It would be a lie to say the game isn't somewhat impressive from a technical POV but all of that is undermined by the totally failure of the story.
The story, that let's face is the main feature of the TLOU games is borderline insulting to the players intelligence with on purpose backwards writing , where if the character of Abby had been introduced properly before the main catalyst event

But no, it was made terrible on purpose and the produces almost brags about it.

***TL;dr An accurate synopsis of this game and how the writing is like that of a five year old
" 2 angy women no like ech over, but is frends at end bcose vilence am naughty"

Where to even start with this game, 7 years in the making yet it feels like the entire story, if you can even call it that was written by a 7 year old.

In a wave of yearly, tired, predictble, easily forgotten triple A titles, the last of us set itself apart and gained practically universal appraise because of the characters. The world was interesting, the graphics were beautiful, but what made it different to other big titles churned out was how it handled the characters. In the first game you played as two damaged characters in a post apocalyptic world, learning about each other, fighting both infected and humans, the apocalypse was a back drop to the genuine growth and development of these 2 much loved characters. We played as a man who lost his daughter, his only reason to live, we saw him thrown into situations where both humans and infected were trying to kill him, we watched him overcome depression, we watched him form a bond with a girl who would become an adoptive daughter figure to him. We played as ellie, an orphan growing up in a post apocalyptic world, who is inexplicbly immune to the virus, who at a young age experience enough dark crap that she had justified trust issues, we saw as she opened up and grew to trust in joel.

Then after almost a decade the second game comes along and removes everything that made the first game so iconic. Joel is killed before he gets any screen time, and he is not killed for world building, or to make room for other characters to come and develop and grow, he was not killed to set up an interesting plot, he was killed for cheap shock value story telling. In a world with infected, raiders, military, mercenaries, communities, cannibals, cults, religious fanatics there were a million different ways they could have introduced new struggles for these characters, instead they used the easiest, most simplistic trick in the book.

In 2 you play as 2 characters
Ellie, but not like ellie in the first game, this version does not grow or change or learn, she is angry woman with nothing past the surface level rage.
Abby, a cope/paste version of ellie, a woman who has the exact same one and only personality trait that ellie has, that has the same one and only predictible driving force that ellie has, but unlike ellie she has no history with the player, she has no endearing or redeeming features and again there is nothing past the surface level rage.

As for the actual "story" it is a predictible, boring revenge story, but even that is not done right, If they wanted to do a predictible revenge story it would not have been as successful as the first game, but it would still be more time in this world, with those characters and would still be enjoyable. But, nope, naughty dog decided instead to have us play with 99.9% of the screen time watching this revenge story unfold only for it to end with one character completely changing her personality on a dime, in a perfect example of utterly lazy deus ex machina writing.

All this means that the players are left watching an uninspired, forgetabble, awful revenge story unfold only to end with the most anti climactic, pious, self righteous, holier-than-thou, "revenge is bad kids, mmmmkay" message, that resolves nothing and feels completely empty.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to kill Abby, and I did everything I could to kill Abby. But sometimes you learn about perspective. And you say “I am not Joel or Ellie or Abby. I am me. The reason why I love this game is because it doesn’t do what i want but does things I live with.” I didn’t want to kill Jerry. He’s just a doctor trying to save the world. I would have shot in in the leg or incapacitated him in a different way. But Joel didn’t want to do that. Joel wanted to make sure that this Firefly project would never be possible again. And he did that, betting his last bit of luck that when he burst through those doors, Ellie would still be alive — and she was. It’s hard to admit, but Joel won. Expand

"If I ever were to lose you, I'd surely lose myself". Un grand jeu video, que dis-je, une grande oeuvre, 10/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where do we start, this game is a mess. The storyline absolutely ruined my fun, it's lazy written and tries a bit to hard to be ''edgy''. IT's depressing as hell. Especially how they treat Joel is absolutely baffeling.

The game play gets quickly boring, it's the same over and over again and barely an evolution of the previous.

The music and grafix is beautiful tho. So points for that.

Naughty Dog aren't in their own league, they're in their own universe.

On display is cinema-grade scripting and performance. The game delivers characters that are meaningful and resonate emotionally. The gameplay is slick and polished, while the combat feels heavy and consequential in a way few games come close to matching. Everything is wrapped-up in an industry-leading presentation, with graphics, visual design, and sound that will leave your jaw on the floor. The content provided is incredibly generous for a narrative experience—with even a quick first play-through lasting around 25 hours (mine was over 32 hours).

The plot has come in for some particular—and wholly unjustified—criticism. At this level of storytelling characters are conflicted and not all plot threads lead to a happy end. The very plot devices that have been criticised by others can be found in some of the greatest works of literature ever produced.

In the end, I think people will eventually come to view TLoU2 in a similar light to Empire Strikes Back. Yes, it's the "slower, more philosophical one with an open ending", but once the trilogy is complete everyone will understand that this is where the real meat of narrative arc lies.

So many parts of it seemed forced, focusing on telling a revenge story rather than the characters personality. They make decisions out of character. Some writers ask how will their characters react to situations and go from there, others have a situation / goal and make the characters fit it even if it goes against the characters personality. This is the later. Having said this, other parts were great. Wish a different game or a different story had been told using the same assets & characters. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So to start, I haven't left a review on Metacritic for quite sometime but I feel that I NEED to. The people who are giving this game a low score and playing the beginning and not finishing need to stop because if they did, they wouldn't have the audacity to give this game a low score. I will explain why even small parts earn the right to "adding points" even if you rated the game a 0.

How in the world could this game ever score anything lower than a 9? Watching the beginning unfold had to be one of the hardest things to witness in my 25 years gaming. The death of Joel makes you want to jump through your screen and choke the life from Abby. With each blow that Abby hits Joel with; then Ellie screaming "please stop hitting him" makes your emotions fly through the roof. Any game that can bring tears to your eyes, even if you hate whats happening, deserves 3 points out of 10. A game made you feel a certain way just by playing it and that says a lot about the writers because emotions are a natural function of everything and are hard to bring out.

Fast forward to Ellie trying to find Abby and seek revenge.....why did Abby do all of this? This of course is a question that we ask ourselves. Ellie would do anything to kill Abby and anyone who gets in her way. But at what cost?

You watch yourself (Player) kill your way through person after person(and dogs) not realizing that everything you are doing is going to hurt once you meet them as Abby and who they are. Playing with the dogs and meeting the characters as Abby in some parts knowing that a couple hours ago you just killed them brutally with Ellie makes you feel a certain way again. Once again emotions take over. To not realize it until the game throws it back in your face is another level of playing field when it comes to developing and writing a story. Earns another 3 points. (I bet more than half the reviews didn't even make it to the Abby parts *sigh*)

Fast forward again. THEN the developers show how Abby goes from this selfish punk to a Joel like role towards Liv and changes her point of view in many aspects of her own life. Would she kill anyone to save Liv?... Would feeling this way now possibly stop her from killing Joel? Seeing his side of the story could of changed her decisions in the past. Loving Ellie was more than "saving the world to Joel" Having only Liv left in Abby's life at this point, would she kill the random doctor trying to take that away from her? These a more questions you ask yourself and how Naughty Dog depicts so frickin well.

There is so many things that happen that there is too much to write down here. I will say that in the end you see what Ellie truly lost and what Abby learned with the knowledge she gained through her arrogant and ignorant reasons. Loss sucks any way you put it but life does go on and its terrible to see that both Ellie and Abby have made some terrible decisions to only realize them in the games closing.

I PROMISE you that if you actually finish this game and see it through, you will not be disappointed. The gameplay, the shear aggressiveness of each battle, the story that will blow you mind right down to the last second and the pure emotionally ride you take playing this game; earns even more points so if you hated this game for you own reasons, these reasons suggest a score of at least 7+ Just give it the chance to open itself up to you as you progress and see what the true story is.

This game deserves every point, star, rating, etc. that exists not because it was just a great game; that if you finished it, you know that as a human being; a gamer; nothing quite like the full story of The Last of Us will never leave us emotionally. When someone brings up this game to you in your life, you will always FEEL a certain way about what went down and how you felt towards it. You will always feel inclined to "put in your two cents" and why do you ask? Because even if you rated it low or had a gripe about this, that or the other, Joel's death, what Ellie felt she needed to do and Abby getting revenge for her father were part of an elaborate plan to show you, as the player, that emotions fuel everything we do in life.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A split narrative game that is very polarizing, hence the positive and negative responses without much middle-ground. It forces you to play and experience two sides of a conflict. Empathy is the name of the game. People will complain about having to play half the game as Abby or that Joel was murdered too soon. But the story plays out quite masterfully. It's a story about survival and forgiveness that masquerades as a revenge story, but if you look deeper, isn't. Every single character is flawed in some ways, some more deeply than others. The writers want you to think about what it means to be a hero or villain because it's all just perspective in TLOU. That said, all of the characters are memorable. I haven't come out of a game being able to list all the major or even semi-important characters by name since the Witcher 3. The actual gameplay is about what you would expect from a sequel to the first game. Decent gunplay, melee combat, lots of QTEs, no player driven choices other than when/how to explore some of the map. It's not a game for everyone, I can understand some of the criticism. Not the homophobic comments, or "Abby is a muscular woman and I can't get over it" comments, or that Joel is actually some noble hero that didn't in any way deserve to die comments. I see a lot of those. But I encourage those that gave up on it early, or only heard bad things about it second-hand, to give it another chance because the build-up is great and the most intense sequences in the later part of the game are going to stick with me for quite some time. The stealth is the absolute best in any Naughty Dog game and perhaps my favorite in a big budget stealth game since MGSV. The open-ended design of the levels is both dense and expansive, naturally facilitating multiple play styles and keeping all of them engaging. Outside of the main narrative, of which there has been plenty of criticism (some deserved, some not), the actual world building and environmental storytelling are both top notch here. The LGBT characters generally steer clear of pandering and don’t virtue signal like, say, Steve in Mass Effect 3; regardless of what anyone says, the fact that one of the most frequently cited problems with the game is the inclusion of LGBT characters is, frankly, ridiculous, immature, and neckbeard to the extreme. What a silly thing to dismiss a game for, honestly. Expand

I played this game very slowly, soaking in all the environmental details, exploring every nook and cranny, appreciating the amazing artistic talent that went behind crafting such an immersive world.

Narrative wise, I avoided all spoilers coming in, had an open mind and thoroughly loved the story. Most games have protagonists and antagonists that feel detached, villains that are always in the background who want to take over the world etc. Whose motives don't quite inspire or make me empathize. However, in TLOU2, it's very nuanced, layered and deep. Never have I experienced a story told this way. I felt connected to every character and the story beats hit me hard emotionally.

If you want a deep narrative experience coupled with powerhouse graphics and intense stealth-action gameplay with survival mehanics, this is it. Please I beg you ignore the hate surrounding this game. I've been reading forums and reviews and videos to understand where the hate is coming from but I, in my honest opinion, feel it is very unwarranted. Play it, it's worth it!

They absolutely ruined the story - boring old mechanics and terrible writing. Hiding behind a veil of "Everyone that hates it is a bigot" really brings to light the fact that these companies are using the LGBTQ community (That I am a part of) as their own personal shield to avoid any criticism.

This game represents the unfiltered anger, rage and revenge porn fantasy of an emasculated man. this man is going so far as to insert himself into the game to have sex with a video game character. Neil Druckmann, a white cis male, has filled a franchise loved by millions with trans phobia, homophobia, pedophilia and porn.

Neil Druckmann's writing, is the reflection of a deeply disturbed heterosexual individual that wallows in self hatred because of his secret rape fantasies for trans women and his pepophile tendency. The hatred for strong male characters is evident throughout the 25 hours of this gore filled surreal nightmare.

Looking back at the First game and the DLC, you find mature and logical storytelling, a lovely romance between Ellie and her female lover and most importantly characters you want to identify with.

Anyone that can identify with any of the characters in this game should seek professional help. There is no redeeming qualities in anyone and you are forced to murder hundreds of people, not zombies, in a psychopathic manner driven by hate and anger.

I regret exposing myself to this filth.

Graphics are amazing, but in these days and ages, messing up graphics is hard. Gameplay is solid and the areas looks great, just really pains to see the game fails so bad on story writing, characters and SJW politics inserted.

If story was way better as well as the ending, and didn't have to play as Abby. I would rate the game a strong 8/10, but with current events and how Naughtydog has acted like with the DMCA takedowns and such, game is a 2/10.

I don't understand how anyone likes this game. Sure it looks good. I guess if you turn it on, and never go any farther than 5 seconds of "oooooh pretty graphics" then you could give this a 10/10. In addition, I did not like that the men in the game are shown too soft, and against their background, a pregnant female soldier looks absurd at all (by the way, making a pregnant woman a fighter is generally nonsense). By the way, Abby's lack of a knife and a loyal dog was very upsetting (it would have brought something fresh to the game-play).P.S.: the Sex scene with Abby is not as disgusting as I assumed based on the opinions of others (Yes, I fell for this spoiler, which has already become a meme). This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I managed to avoid the spoilers, and I intentionally avoided all the trailers, except 'e3 reveal' one. I enjoyed 'Part 2' as a game, but as a sequel to 'the last of us' I did not.

First strike was when Tommy, in the middle of the fight, from nowhere decided to be a gentleman and introduced himself and his brother – a person with a secret so horrible, that Tommy swore to took this secret to his grave. And, quite possibly, person with a price on his head, after all he had done. And after that decided to go in a room with bunch of unknown, heavily armed people with no precautions. That for me felt very out of character.

Second strike was for the way Abby killed the man, who just saved her life. I have no problem with the fact that she kills him. Just the way it happens for me paints her as complete psycho and irredeemable person.

And third strike for me where all those cheap, in-your-face attempts to show Abby and her friends as good, intelligent, compassionate people. Here's Abby saves a zebra, here's Abby reads a book, here's Abby feels ashamed that her friend cuts the queue, here's Abby plays with a dog, here's Abby saves kids even tho they are an enemies and so on.. Abby's part was tooooo long. I was done with it before 'day 1' ended. And from that point I just stopped caring about what is happening with Abby storywise. It just felt like completely different game, that I was forced to play for some reason.

The last part and the end were quite emotional, and I understand what ND tried to do, but it just did not work for me because of all the reasons above.

And it's just sad and upsetting. Because flashbacks with Joel was great, especially the museum one and final one. Because I see all this incomprehensible amount of work that was put in this game! Visually it looks stunning. Hands down the best looking game at this moment. Acting and mocap are top notch. Game play is solid. Sound and music is great. Years of work. You have all components needed to make another masterpiece. And in result all I feel is confusion and disappointment.

One of the most significant video game experiences of my entire existence. I don't feel like criticizing people who didn't appreciate it, it's a divisive game and as such it can't meet everyone's taste. It is a story of revenge and consequences, the principle of cause and effect. Never had a game left me with such deep sadness and bitterness. A masterpiece.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm pretty conflicted about this game. The whole first half is a solid 9.5/10 for me and really does feel like a worthy successor to the first game. Incredible level design, great combat sequences, and graphic quality I never expected to see out of my 6 year old PS4. I was thoroughly engaged in the story up until the switch.

The second half however, feels very jarring compared to what is played up until that point. It feels like Naughty Dog divided into two teams to make this game. The team developing the first half being people who worked on the original game. the combat encounters feel like they were designed by a less talented team than Ellie's section of the game. The story of Abby and her friends is not interesting and the game gives me no reason to care about those characters.

I do appreciate a lot of what this game tried to do in the bigger picture. The idea of having to play a character for 10-12 hours that you are strongly predisposed to dislike is an interesting psychological experiment, but I kind of wish I wasn't the subject. The Abby section wasn't all bad (I liked her Flashbacks and thought the leaving the Island sequence was very cool) but I still kind of feel like like I was tricked into being forced to play a different game for 10 hours to see the conclusion of the story I was invested in.

I think the Abby section would be less grating on people if it wasn't so long. It didn't feel like it was at all necessary for her to have a whole second campaign to tell that part of the story. Her 3 days could have been an hour each and still showed the player what they needed to see. By the time I was finally done the Abby section it felt like it had killed the tension that was there before the Abby switch.

By far my favorite part of this game was the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie. I don't think Joel's death was necessarily bad writing but i still can't help but wonder what this game could have been if it was able to take more advantage of it's greatest strength in the chemistry between those characters.

A good story doesn't pander to its listeners -- it depicts something real and meaningful. Through all of the seemingly impossible twists and turns, every decision is justified and deeply rooted in the characters' experiences. This is the equivalent of classic literature. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People can hate this game because it is raw, devestating and sometimes simply tough to play. For anyone rating the game so lowely because of this TLOU2 is simply lost on you. This game is simply put a revenge driven and gut wrenching story. It is ugly it is raw and emotionally charged and unfortunately for some of the fairies writing bad reviews it doesnt give everyone a happy ending. The reality of the last of us 2 is that it is reflective of the world within the game, no one is safe and no one is guaranteed their chance at development or their chance at redemption. The last of us part 2 perfectly captures what a post apocalyptic world is . This world is harsh and unforgiving and although Joel perhaps didnt get the end he deserved or the end the fans would have wanted for him it is part and parcel of the world he is in and the story of revenge and anger brought about by his death is nothing short of amazing. The reality is the game perfectly captures the human condition and the desperation for revenge. All the people giving bad reviews because they are too trigger happy to sit back and think about the brilliance of it all is sadly missing the whole point of the game. It is not without its flaes. I understand perhaps the timing of certain things could have been better but the essence of the story is the lesson that revenge is never perfect and in alot of cases you lose more than you gain by seeking it. It is not a 10/10 game but it is an 8 for me. A brilliant sequel that if u dare to think about it is brilliant in its own way Expand

Do the graphics hit performance? Well, yes and no... anyone who played the Last of Us remaster on PS4 on a 1080p TV will be disappointed to learn there is no 60fps mode at all, you won't be able to favour performance over visuals even if, like me, you're using a Pro on a 1080p TV. That is a big disappointment, but it aims for 30fps and in my two play-throughs I can say with certainty that it rarely if ever deviated from that target. It was a solid experience throughout.
Next up, the sound design... it's simply breathtaking, the audio is phenomenal throughout the entire game, from the ambient sounds of nature to the visceral sounds of clicker and humans being killed, a real treat for your ears, especially if you wear headphones while playing games.
Gameplay? Well, this is where the game has me on the fence... the fighting and the stealthing is great, the game has tight controls although at times finicky because of the lower framerate making aiming and target acquisition slightly harder if you're used to playing at high framerates on PC for example, but other than that aiming and moving feel great, the main downside with the overall gameplay is how often there's a very very pretty but largely empty corridor or area to explore, it's gorgeous no doubt, but the world feels at times unpopulated and empty, sure, that could very well be by design as it is post apocalypse, but first and foremost it's a game, and there was at times, nothing going on. While contrary to that, the times when the action did pick up, WOW.. Some of the most intense scenes I've played in a "triple A" titles in recent memory.
Finally... The story... what seems to be a major point of contention for some people... Let me start by saying this, the story is simply amazing, it's gripping, it will challenge the way you think about your protagonists. I would advise you don't listen to the loud minority of people complaining, they don't like the story and that's fine, that doesn't mean the story is badly written... because it isn't at all, the story is genuinely incredible and an amazing addition to Joel and Ellies story from the first game. There is a lot of emotions involved in this sequel, you will be angry, you will be sad. THAT IS THE POINT, this game isn't afraid to do things on its terms, it's refreshing to play a game with a story that quite frankly is difficult to absorb rather than pandering to fan service, I am upset that the story went this way, but I am upset in a good way, the way Naughty Dog intended. Quite frankly, I am still thinking about the story and everything days after I got the platinum trophy, it was a rollercoaster from start to finish.

So... why a 9? Why not a 10? Well, while the story was genuinely really really very good, it went on too long. There were at least two points the game could have ended and the story wasn't as tight as it could have been, the story they wanted to tell could have been told far tighter, I was frustrated at times because of how much back-and-forth they did, the overall story was still after all said and done, simply amazing, but how it was presented needs work, I feel like if it was edited better it would even better than the first game, but it's just a little too long in the tooth and messy how it is right now. I don't think there was a single character or moment in this game that felt off, or I didn't like. It's one of the most finely crafted video games I've ever played, it's just a slight shame the presentation of the narrative falls a little short and we have to endure that 30fps cap instead of having an option for 60fps.

I do hope Metacritic removes these stupid 0 reviews, anyone giving this game a 0 needs to rethink their lives.

It's quite unique making you take decisions you don't want and teaching in forgiveness.
But the game play is boring, same scripts than the first one, this could be done without the infected ones. There are some things to improve, I opened so much empty drawers...

The story is not bad, but i did not see it very interesting tho.

Neither a bad game, nor a masterpiece.

It has been several weeks after the incredible ending, and the emotions and feelings inside are not going to decrease. A big fan of the first game and this is not a sequel — this is part two of the story, bigger, better, and completely different. Big thanks to Neil Druckmann and all Naugty Dogs for courage and hard work. Videogames can be a true art — proved by The Last Of Us Part II and by all the discussions it created. When some outsiders make fun of gamers for being nerds, I always smirked, knowing that they are right, and the way this game has been treated by both sides pretty much confirms this.

    Lets get some things straight:

    1) The game is not overall bad, not even close to the worst games.
    2) ND surely messed up the story/characters, there is no question about it.
    3) In terms of graphics and gameplay though, the game is stellar.

Yes, I was pissed off at the many plot holes, at how some characters were treated, at how some left-wing political agenda is shoved down my throat (on top of that it is forced, does not appear natural), and how nonsensical the overall story and especially the ending was. Drunkman did a bad job even when he tried to virtue signal. You don't do it THAT obvious.

But other than these major faults, there is no denying that the graphic and gameplay quality is one of the best available at the moment. You can't give it a 0 or 1, not even a 3 taking this into the account. As such, I will give it a middle rating.

Both sides should grow up and learn to stop buying into hype, stop senseless religious fanboy/girlism, stop bashing for the sake bashing just to look cool in front of your friends. You like the game because of the story? Then you are entitled to be disappointed. But the story is just one part of a game. Same with the side who just worships this game because they want to be contrarians or to kiss up to ND/Sony. I get it that critics and professionals would suck up to them so that they won't get overlooked by ND/Sony for future releases, but you folks have no such excuse, other than sheer stupidity.

What it looks like in this game is that it has brought unprecedented left activism in the history of games. Maria calls her husband an "ass". Enter marijuana freedom. They explore the case of Ellie, which could be something natural, in a forced and boring way. Disappointing to see that Sony may have entered the world of politics in its games. Doesn't she know that politics and games don't match, just as advertising doesn't match either. Disappointed and I was thinking about PS5, but after that, I will start thinking about the more open strategy of Xbox or PC, because there I have more conditions of choice and I should not be disappointed so much. it's an awesome, right from the start to finish, gorgeous graphics, the music wasn't as memorable as the last one but it gives punches when needed. The story is quite good it keeps wanting you to know more, I think the ending needed a bit more punch but it was great.....overall, this game it's worth every penny!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The negative reviews are so wrong! This game is a masterpiece! I hate SJWs, first of all, and I hate the agenda. That being said, those things are in everything now. There’s no getting away from it. This game has bits of that and the leakers seem to take great pride in revealing only those things. They didn’t mention the heartfelt flashback to a museum as astronaut Ellie. They didn’t mention the REASON that Abby killed Joel. Playing as Abby was, at first, off putting. I didn’t like it. I was mad at the creators for making me do it. Then something happened. I started to see things through her eyes. I started to care about Abby and her side. I’ll admit that it took a little while, even after finding out that her father was the Dr that Joel killed to save Ellie. Don’t get me wrong, I hate that Joel dies! It was brutal to watch. It hurt. On the same token, I can understand that Abby is not an evil **** She was getting revenge for her father.

I keep seeing reviewers saying there’s no story. They have not played the game. Period. Nobody can play the full game and say there’s no story. There is tons of story, great story! You just might not like it, so say there’s no story. The story is just as amazing as part one. Joel is there. He’s in the the flashbacks. Ellie finds out what he did at the hospital and hates him for it. She cuts him out of her life and shortly after he is killed. She is ridden with guilt and that’s what drives her vengeance do much. She let him down.

Stop listening to the bad reviews. You may not like it because of this or that, but you owe yourself to give it a chance. You can tell that the creators put countless hours of blood, sweat and tears into this game. They poured their souls into it. You can feel it throughout. Don’t miss out on this experience just because thousands of fake players say it’s bad. Chances are, you’ll love it!

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
