    Really enjoyed the game, it was full of surprises. Glad I didn't read any of the spoilers before playing and made my own opinion of the game.

    The Last of Us 2 is the perfect sequel to the first game, putting you in the midst of an intense plot, with real to life characters, thrilling gameplay, scenery and exploration, immense attention to detail, a beautiful soundtrack and a story that no developer has really dared to take on.

    Naughty Dog has done an incredible job creating a story that we haven't heard before, they took    The Last of Us 2 is the perfect sequel to the first game, putting you in the midst of an intense plot, with real to life characters, thrilling gameplay, scenery and exploration, immense attention to detail, a beautiful soundtrack and a story that no developer has really dared to take on.

    Naughty Dog has done an incredible job creating a story that we haven't heard before, they took massive risks in order to give us something different and I believe they succeeded.

    Dont believe the review bombers, the game is not even arguably below a 9/10 if you're being critical. Some people just decided to hate the game because the main characters are both women.    … Expand

    The last of us 2 is a masterpiece that anyone who calls themselves a gamer must experience. The fluidity of the combat and the tention naughty dog builds during gameplay sequences is so extreme yet so effortlessly brilliant. The story is dividing but I feel it is more about forgiveness than revenge.     I don’t know why ppl hate this game I loved it. The level design is the best I’ve ever played the animation is the best I’ve ever seen but some of the story I didn’t like still an amazing game

    Without a doubt it was the best game of my life. Story wise, game play wise and graphically. I really enjoyed it with every cells in my body.

    Felt more like part two and three. It did drag on a bit. The ending has left me with questions. A very fun game to play. Story wise it wasn't as great as the first but still a good story of where Justice ends and revenge begins.

The story, it’s starts off kinda boring but once a major event happens it starts to pick up, 2. The crafting system, while it’s not what I’m used too it still does it’s job, 3. The enemies, instead of your normal clickers, runners, and bloaters there’s also shambles and stalkers the two new zombie types are really fun and it adds a bit more of a challenge. In the game you’re introduced to two new factions the WLF (Washington Liberation Front) and the scars, the WLF is like the military and can be very challenging at times and the scars they’re not bad I just came across them not too long ago but they were easy to kill. If you’re cautious about buying this game I highly recommend it I've played a lot of games with good stories and this one is the second best. It’s a great game and I think you’ll enjoy spending time with the character (Ellie) that you grew to love in The Last of Us part 1.… Expand

Maybe ellie should have had some more time ? I don't know maybe chapters vs halves would have worked better and gone back and forth. I don't know. But I do know I loved both games. I do know it was intensely fun. I only give it a 9 because it wasn't flawless. But God was it so close. Give me an endless horde mode or something and it's a 10, because I don't have to stop playing… Expand

    Why people didn't like it and my refute:

    -"Ellie changed too much". Who has the same personality when they were 14 as they did when they were 19, not accounting for trauma and PTSD and what that does to a person (and puberty).
    -"The Death of _____ was done in a poor/un-heroic manner". The truth hurts and so does reality. This game was meant to be a Grimm parallel to if this was reality. Nobody is immune to death and that's what makes it great. The early death in this game prepares you and gives you that underlying feeling that anyone could die at any moment. There are no beloved protagonists in reality and nobody is immune to dying in the most stupid ways possible. If I was in the apocalypse I would probably make it to day 50 before ripping off a hangnail and dying of blood-loss or something ridiculously stupid like that (I know it's not really possible, it's an analogy), and that's reality.
    - The Story sucks. This is the most widespread criticism and one that I can't refute nor confirm. After playing through the game twice, I honestly loved the story. There are flaws as with any game but liking or hating the story is a matter of opinion. I, like most, hated Abby with every fiber of my being- even after playing her for a few hours! It wasn't until the end of Abby's playthrough that I realized I actually started to empathize with her which brings and inner-conflict to the player that I can appreciate.
    - "SJWs agenda/Ellie is gay so the game is bad". Get over yourselves.    … Expand

    I'm giving it a 9 because the game was excellent. But at the same time, my disappontment rating is 10. Ellie and Joel are what makes TLOU and their parts together in this game are too far and few between. I.agine if the entire game had revolved around those two characters.

    One of my favorite experiences of this entire generation of games. Takes all of the most interesting elements and decisions of the first and builds on and gives them consequences and weight. Excellent gameplay and set pieces combined with an interesting and harrowing story.

    Definitely a game worth experiencing for yourself!

    I absolutely LOVED this game! I laughed at times, I was shocked at times, I cried at times. I was invested in this game wholeheartedly with the characters, the gameplay, the environment and the story. One of the best experiences i've had playing a game. This game and the first are Masterpieces in my eyes.

    I absolutely loved it. The chapters could have been structured differently to improve on the pacing. Besides that, graphics, gameplay and story were all great. Unexpectedly, I cared more for Abby in the end than I did Ellie.

    Fantastic game. Story, game-play, tension during fights, graphics, characters etc. I love it and does not deserve all that hate. I am huge PlayStation fan but I am not positive with a game if it is bad, would be hypocrisy of me. So I recommended!
    PS: I liked that they come up with something different, something that nobody would expect. I like this in every franchise.

    The game is one of the best I have played. The story broke my heart and it could be different. But it isn't, so they wanted to show us a story, a really hard story. But it is the story and it's Okey. I can live with it. Maybe I was going to enjoy with other story. Perhaps I would prefer playing with Ellie all the game or that Joel can be alive and we can see him taking care Ellie. At least a few hours or a chapter. Because, we waited 7 years to can see him. And it's hard to support a game without our main character, the best character I played. But it's what they wanted to show us. So we have to play it and live with it because it's only a game. The most important game, in my opinion. But I can live with it. Again, in my opinion, all the people who made the game deserve we accept their job and we have to say thank them

    Everything either meets or exceeds the last game in terms of gameplay and brutality. I and many consider the first game one of the best games of all time. But the story unfortunately left much to be desired and with that I'm never putting blind trust behind any gaming studio again, l should have trusted the user reviews.

When you play the game you really got so into the characters, you really feel things while you playing the game. This game deserve so much respect.     Sincerely, i am a very dependable game. I waited for years for this game and was totally disappointed on the direction the game took, totally losing the origins of what was the first game. Repetitive gameplay, but the only positive point is the graphics, so i wont give it a 0.

    As a comment to all the negative ratings, I get it. Some people just find it hard to empathize. Especially today, where the story is always 'Us' vs. 'Them'. I disagree with these people. I especially disagree with those who also hate the fact that the characters happen to be part of the LGBTQ+ community.

    Also, it's not an issue that they killed a character. No one is invincible. It's incredibly stupid to believe that just because a character was popular, they can't die. This is hypocritical. Why should the producers appeal to the cheapness of popularity? The videogame dared to be bold, and they did a great job.    … Expand

    Game does a really great job of making you feel for the characters, even at times you don’t really want to. While I wouldn’t say this is the type of story you enjoy it was successful in conveying the complexity of the world and endless tragedy brought by a desire for revenge. Definitely worth playing through till the end but be prepared for an emotionally draining ride.

    The Last of Us Part Two is a flawed masterpiece. The gameplay is very polished version of the first game and is absolutely incredible. The game has some of the best graphics you can get on a console game. The story is very good if you just give it a chance. At times the pacing can be poor, but overall it's a very good story!

    Playing games is about feeling like you can be one of the characters. Recognition of self. Feeling for the characters.     One of the best games i ever played. The graphics, great gameplay and a deep risky story. i recommend this game, but careful, it is not for everyone. You must to be open mind and neutral with the story, This game offers a lot to this generation, and the game has more successes than mistakes, for sure.

    Pathetic. Proves naughty dog can't make a game and cannot make a movie. I loved the story of the first game. Hated the gameplay. This is terrible gameplay bad story. What were they thinking? It looks nice and the actors are good. I'll give them 1 point for that. Ruined the series for me.

    Just finished it. It surpassed the first. It is a masterpiece. Level design is often akin to the genius of Mario, game mechanics are fun and well crafted, characters and story are a-plus, graphics, like the first installation, are simply gorgeous. Loved to see different cities in that universe. It’s the whole package.

    Truly amazing and engrossing story. This world has consequences for the characters actions. Well written, interesting characters, who are the hero of their own stories, who may live long enough to see themselves become the villain. Must play, don't judge this game by what you may read. The script isn't everything, the performances add so much to this experience. Give it a go. You won't regret it.

    Boring, typical storyline, low gameplay game. A brilliant plot that doesn't add up. Violence breeds more violence, but Abby's murdered friends and mowed down crowds of people for revenge for Joel's death tell a different story. When Ellie forgives Abby after that moment something breaks in my head

    Seguro hay personas que dicen que el juego es malo porque simplemente Joel haya muerto al principio del juego pero si te pones a pensar Naughty Dog quizo dar a entender que de cierta manera nadie es importante en un mundo como el de The last of us y que Joel no es ninguna persona que es invensible contra las demas, y ademas nosotros (los jugadores) vemos a Joel como un heroe pero si te pones a ver desde el punto de vista de los lobos, Joel es el malo porque elimino la unica manera de poder regresar la humanidad a como era antes y eso te lo dan a entender poco a poco mientras vas avanzado en la historia.

Yes, in the game our dream daddy of gaming was killed. Did we cry? I sure did, couldn't stop. I was fuelled by rage and anguish. I was Ellie. Through what was the first half of the game I felt everything she felt. And then Abby came into the equation. What leads up to the final battle is a step into Abby's shoes. At first, I was not on board, I want this **** to die, I wanted Ellie to beat her to a bloody pulp. That was until Abby's story started to pick up. As Abby I saved a young boy who defied his society. I conquered my fear of heights. I slayed the ugly **** that was the rat king. In what felt like minutes but really was hours, I was Ellie again. I was standing on a Misty beach staring at a starved Abby with my fists curled. What started as burning hatred in hour 2 turned into me screaming 'stop' at my TV. I've been playing video games for a long time and not once have I not wanted to press square. I froze up twice during the final battle and this is something I've never experienced. The reason why I give this game a 10/10 is because Naughty Dog made me feel something I've never felt. To call this game a lazily written revenge plot that doesn't end with revenge is undercutting the game's accomplishments. Whether you liked the game Naughty Dog did what they set out to do. We all felt lost, angry, and confused. In my mind this game is a masterpiece for that very reason. It provoked thought and it sparked conversation. I highly suggest the game. The graphics are absolutely amazing, and the sound design — from the music, to sounds of infected — is a good step up from the first game.     Last time i felt so engaged in a PS4 exclusive like this was GOD OF WAR, and just like it The Last of Us Part 2 is an absolute must play of a masterpiece. It's deep, emotional, dramatic and exciting, losing yourself in it is unavoidable. I will for sure be replaying it for the Plat this weekend. Best game of 2020 undoubtedly.

There were some things I had issues with, like the pacing/time jumps of the game - it kind of draws you out of the experience a little bit. However the other aspects of the game mean that it is still really enjoyable to play. The gameplay is fantastic, hand to hand combat animations are really fun and make the combat side of gameplay really rewarding. For others, the looting system felt repetitive, but because of the varied environments (which are all really beautiful, brilliant graphics, lighting, atmosphere) I didn’t feel the same. One other thing I felt enhanced the game was the weapon upgrade system/animations. It added to the realism of the world and also was nice to see physical changes and upgrades to the weapons. Gameplay flows nicely, and is not clunky or awkward, which means you can play for longer without getting frustrated or bored. In terms of the story, I can appreciate why many people don’t feel satisfied with the game. Some decisions the writers made, I felt could have been polished. Playing as Abby for half the game at first was frustrating, but after seeing the developments to abbys character it became more bearable. I also enjoyed the difference in her fighting animations, as she is SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than Ellie. If the story feels confusing or pointless, I really recommend watching Nathan zed’s thoughts on the game on YouTube. It gave me a new perspective :)… Expand

After waiting so much time to play it and as a huge fan of the first one I honestly wish this game didn't exist.

    The Last of Us Part II is the perfect combination of an excellent Hollywood movie with a fat budget with fun and flowing gameplay. The phenomenal writing will touch every player and won't leave an eye dry of tears. Combat and exploration are challenging and lead the player to use creativity and improvisation. A real masterpiece and a must-have for every PS4 owner.
