I think the game is really emotive, I did liked it, the story is really good, the ending was bitter, Ellie pays a lot, it has some story flaws and some deus ex machina, but, I do understand why is this, besides those flaws on the story telling, I think the narrative is really good and the gameplay was superb, I didn't like to play as Abby since she was the antagonist, but, besides that, I think that the Abby's story is great, because this wants to say that no one is absolutely good nor bad, and the game shows the destructive cycle of revenge and how it can destroy someone that does not wants to let it go, I liked how smooth the gameplay is and how immersive it is, also, I liked how the game mechanics is so sweet that you can use your own imagination on how you want to confront the enemies, I really liked that is not so stealthy like the first one, it contains some action scenes that are awesome, I really liked the ending because it is bitter and close Ellie's and Joel's story, I can't wait to play it by 2nd time with more detail, I do recommend to play it until the end and analyze carefully the story after finishes it, because, I don't think that people who didn't finishes the game nor analyze it carefully may has a more accurate opinion, I really recommend to give it a chance… Expand

    As a fan of the first game, I must say im disappointed in the game and I expected a lot better from a game that took years and years to make. The main downfall of the game is the story, compared to the first game this story is a joke. There is still some good moments that I enjoyed. The first half of the game is okay, but the second half is stupid, I won't spoil but they force us to playAs a fan of the first game, I must say im disappointed in the game and I expected a lot better from a game that took years and years to make. Now if you completly ignore the storyline and just focus on the gameplay, the game is really good on that point, its like the first game but 5 times better and the amazing amount of little details shows how much love has been put on this game. I just wish the storyline would not be garbage. Hey but who knows? Maybe Naughty Dog can still redeem themselves with a dlc? Or even a better version of factions multiplayer from the first game...

    Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention how naughty dog lied to us in the trailers, if you expect the game to be like we see it in the trailers then you will be disappointed... Just know that Joel is not gonna have as a important role in the game as they made us think in the trailers.

I give it a 3 the new game mechanics like the ropes and the new dogs plus the AI now helps you is great the graphics are perfect but the way the story was told it felt out of order and it felt wrong im not mad that joel died but how he died at the start of the game not only that but joel died and Ellie and joel relación as a family the reason people loved tlou1 was broken with no explanación until the end and by that time it dint matter and as for Abby her reason for killing joel are understandable but the game dint make us feel sorry for her only hate her because of how the story was told the orden was not done right and dint make me feel noting but hatred For Abby and her friend and new characters were like nobody they were dull the only new character that was not dull was jesse and he was killed the same goes for abbys friend they felt like regular non important characters… Expand

    I'll start of by saying I've never done a review on a game, but I couldn't stay quiet on this one. There's plenty of reviews on The Last of Us Part 2 that say what's wrong with the game so I won't go into detail, but I will say that I will personally boycott Naughty Dog what a waste of money. People who claim other people are intolerant because they say there was an agenda at play here are either blind or naive of course there was an agenda here. The last of us part 1 was the reason I decided to purchase the 2nd part and I didn't read into the reviews, what a mistake that was. Next time I will trust the reviews "Gamers" add and forget about company's that are paid off to spew lies. Forgetting the whole agenda thing the story was completely ridiculous why Naughty Dog would take the player through a rollercoaster of nonsense is beyond me. Ah 2020 what a year, World War 3 almost starts Covid, police brutally, idiots trying to dismantle every police force, the koalas, and the death of The Last of Us.

    Why a pregnant woman would decide to go to a known warzone is beyond me, and when she's asked what the baby daddy will say she basically replies we'll he's not the boss of me and I'll go anyways.

    Game story is terrible, the graphics and animations are very good, but they are not worth it in the end. I feel like this entire franchise has been ruined by this release, also I feel like Naughty Dog falsely advertised what the story is going to about, that's why I'm giving it a 4.

    Tenía mucho que no jugaba algo que me causara tantas cosas... tiene una historia madura, con un final y desarrollo que me dejaba boca abierta a cada rato. Un final maduró no de Disney... te enseña que cada acto trae consecuencias... no es un juego con final feliz..

    An outstanding achievement in world design, technical flair, and performances. Gorgeously rendered environments, tight and gripping gunplay, and voice acting and mocap second to none. The negative reviews you see here are from manbabies who can't handle a little complexity in their narrative.

However, the characters and the story, which were the most important part of the first TLOU, are killed or damaged beyond the point of recovery. A disgusting sensation of unsatisfaction and depression is felt since the beginning and during the entire game. It feels endless due to the mentioned sensations as well as the actual and unnecessary length of the tortuous plot.… Expand

    Although the final scene wasn't the one we were expecting, the game brought all kind of feelings at the moment of playing it, graphics and also the sounds are TOP, also the gameplay it self felt so smooth and real at the moment of playing it, I didn't give the game a 10 just because of how they tried tod do the history

When I say this, I mean that the perfect cake is the graphics and gameplay. The **** that sits on top of that cake is the story and the characters. Whoever wrote this **** on top of the cake should be ashamed for not even looking at the masterpiece that was The last of us. A simple game about a mission of delivering a girl who you grow attached to. The last of us 2 says hey remember the plot of the first game? well this game is all about revenge! put on your backpack and take your pregnant useless girlfriend.

    Ellie: Remember Ellie? Of course you do. well now she is 18-21 has a tattoo for some reason in an apocalypse. Ellie likes this girl Dina for some reason, apparently, they kissed once. we don't get to see it though until 10 minutes before the game is done. I can see why some people are surprised that Ellie is a lesbian but that is not my problem with it. My problem is that we are to believe that Ellie and Dina loves each other when all we see is one time when they are in a basement smoking weed, they scissor off-screen “remember that off-screen part for when I get to Abby” The writers of this has never heard of show don't tell before. After playing for a bit they start calling each other babe. That is so cringe. You have played the game for 1 hour but and they have been together for 10 minutes of that and they are calling each other babe.
    Joel: Abby comes and kills him after Joel and Tommy saves her life like 10 times. The marketing for this game was all about. Hey, look at how old Joel and Ellie is in this game, isn't that amazing. tricking you into thinking that Joel is going to be in this game. In reality all the marketing showing how much older Joel is were just flashbacks.
    Dina: Useless. She is there for two reasons. she is jewish so she teaches Ellie about religion and she is pregnant. Here is what really confused me. Meet Dina, she is most likely the same age as Ellie 18-21. She was obviously born after the apocalypse happened then. She was born in New Mexico... Jackson the town you start in is in Washington. According to google the distance between is 1490 miles, 2398 km. Dina and her sister apparently went to many synagogues. I just don't believe Dina could have been born in New Mexico and end up in Washington.
    Abby: Where does this **** get her protein? why are her arms so massive? they were so huge everyone thought she was a transgender chick with dick. Why is half of the game playing a character that no one wants? Abby is the **** that killed Joel, so you know how much you want to kill yourself the second you get to play as her. I mean the character not you the person. Abby and her friends are a part of a group/militia called WLF short for Washington liberation front or wolf. Abby has a "friend" called Owen he went AWOL or something. Owen is got Mel one of Abby's sort of friend pregnant. But Owen is into women with muscles because at one point in the game Abby goes to Owen after he went AWOL you have a little argument that you don't care about then Abby and Owen start to kiss. You expect it to be just like Ellie and Dina's scissoring session, but no. They go full **** on you. you get to see Abby take of Owen's shirt and Owen takes off Abby's shirt. Abby quickly takes off her bra and you see Abby's boob. Abby is so buff that it honestly looks more like a dude's saggy man pec. Owen then takes Abby puts her on the table pulls down her pants and unbuckles his belt. you then see Owen thrust into Abby 3 times. WHO THE **** LOOKED AT THAT AND SAID, Yes this is what people wants!    … Expand

Trying to force you to like characters you despise and that have the personality of a wet blanket. Naughty Dog had 7 years to craft a worthy sequel and failed in all the places that matter. A los gustos, colores! Every element that I enjoyed from the first game has been improved in the sequel, it has the best graphics I’ve ever seen in a video game tied with god of war, exhilarating and tense gameplay yet simple in it’s application which gives the player so many choices in how to approach the game, whether that be all stealth, getting in gun fights or even running away is a sound tactic at times. But let’s get onto my favourite part of the game, the story. The game initially feels like it’s just going to be an average revenge story when Joel gets killed and at first I thought the early gameplay as Abby was just to heighten that moment but the game became so much more than just a revenge story. When I first started to play as Abby and I realised I had to play 3 days as her I was dubious because I hated her so much, however the more I played as Abby the more I empathised with her and saw her in a different light, so much so that a character I wanted dead 3 hours into the game I wanted her to live by the end of the game. By the end of the game I realised that both characters were on the same journey just at different points, Abby was seeking redemption for her transgressions and she found that in helping Lev and Yara. Ellie had not begun to redeem for her actions but her decision not to kill Abby was the first step in that process. I feel like this game is almost 3 games in one and that’s what makes it one of my favourite games I’ve ever played,… Expand

    After the first Last of Us, I was expecting big things from Naughty Dog for the sequel and they delivered. I class this game as a work of art, from the phenomenal acting, to the fluid game play and storytelling. Little details, like enemies interacting with each other and sound traveling realistically, it is really impressive how much work was put into this experience.     One of best survival games. It is better to pass part 1 before playing this. I passed the game 2 on normal and aurvival difficulty and it was a lot of fun. Yes, it is brutal but life is brutal

    El juego está bien planteado, Narrativa funciona bien, aunque Naugthy dog ofrece una historia no esperada, y su inclusión puede ser no grata para muchos, qué realmente no está mal, el juego da sus versiones de personajes de una manera natural y se desenvuelven muy natural, sin forzar la trama, además del apartado gráfico y jugabilidad es aprovechada al máximo.

    The gameplay has evolved so impressively over the first game. Also the level design is really well done. Both stealth and full on rambo are viable options and you can mix it up nicely with the tools and weapons at your disposal. The wide-linear levels mean you have a variety of ways to navigate around and this game rewards exploration with notes that tell short but grounded stories and thicken the lore and man i loved the cards too.
    Obviously being a ND game the visuals are beautiful..very artistic too. Love the foliage and water.
    The sound work is also really good. Best game I have played,,,nah best game I have experienced ever. The rollercoaster of emotions was unlike anything I have experienced in any medium weather film,books or games. The rage for abby was real, the regret and disgust upon Mel's cxbcb was real, the love for alice was real, the comfort with dina was real, comradarie with lev and yara was real.. jesse's and owen's inherent goodness was real...heck on my 2nd playthrough on seattle day 1 playing as ellie the random wlf soldier complaining about burritos was real. Mindblown. The replayability is also good because of the gameplay,level design and lore that just thickens as you hear more convos, discover previously missed notes and damn those fun cards.

Sure the graphics team, level designers, programmers, animators, sound designers, and many other artist and talented people did amazing job. When the game looks, plays and sounds this great it really shows what it lacks. And to me it was all the charm and magic of the first game. instead there was too much unnecessary gore and violence, forced narrative. Plot structure was all over the place. Some of the better parts were the flashbacks, but there was too many. And the swap of the characters halfway didn't make it for me. Shock value, yes, there was a lot of shocking twists, but none of real substance or importance to make me connect with new characters. And since most new characters died, it felt pointless in the end. I was asking myself, Why? And the ending perhaps most disappointing of the entire story. Well crafted game overall, but characters and plot severely lacking polish that you can find in other AAA titles. 6/10… Expand

Es algo que ningún otro juego se atrevería hacer, esta es un juego bastante realista y la mejor versión de como un apocalipsis zombie se desarrollaría a largo plazo.     I loved the gameplay, bud hated the story, they made my favorite character into a **** of a woman even Abby was made a **** i hated the conclusion of the story and where it was going in the game. I hated the end story of the game, when your playing for hours with a character you hope on a good ending bud no ending like that.

But she didn’t because she understood that it was something wrong and Joel will wanted that for Elli, that she understand that vengeance is wrong, and it’s horrible. Su antecesor ha creado personajes tridimensionales que generan el cariño y attachment de los jugadores omo ningún otro. Y esta segunda estrega nos hace reflexionar sobre la empatia, las consecuencias de los actos y la necesidad de buscar un mecanismo de defensa a nuestro luto y dolor. Este juego lo ha conseguido. La vara siempre queda muy alta para alguien que no suele jugar mucho y para aquellos que han jugado todos los juegos triple A. Es que en un medio dónde un triple A es la excusa para obtener dinero con juegos "de balde" o que no toman riesgos artísticos, cien una desarrolladora como Naughty Dog a tomar todos los riesgos en un medio no acostumbrado a ello.
    Es una obra de arte. Y quizá el tiempo le dará la razón y no una calificación del 1 al 10. Porque es el sistema que hay yo le pongo un 10 porque a mi parecer se merece eso y más.
    La historia y la jugabilidad, el trabajo extenso detrás en cada detalle de esta entrega y todo lo que ha provocado de manera meta es tan solo un testimonio de su importancia histórica.
    Necesitamos más juegos como éste.

It delivered a cinematic game in a way that gave you everything you wanted in a story in a way where sometimes what isn’t said is more important than what is. While part one gave players exactly everything we wanted TLOU2 did exactly the opposite. And while at first that statement seems very negative give me a second to explain. TLOU2 mastered the ability to continue an amazing and immersive story line while giving us everything I didn’t want and it did so beautifully, and tragically. At the end of part1 I didn’t want Ellie and Joel’s relationship to continue to unravel and be strained. But it did wonderfully. I love Joel and I didn’t want him to die in the first act, but he did tragically. I didn’t want to watch my favorite video game characters Ellie slowly lose her morality and spiral into the darkness, but every scene I was force to watch it as a slow motion train wreck. I hated Abby for killing Joel, I didn’t want to know her reasoning, but I had to in order to understand she’s the moral anchor. I didn’t want to play as Abby as we brutally beat up Ellie and everything in me just wanted the fight to end. But I needed to see it. I didn’t want Ellie to lose everything in the end, but in this world there isn’t happy endings. This world is dark and brutal and in the end.. that’s what it is.. just..the end. It can never be a fairy tail ending when the first part set the theme. People are monsters. So as the first part gave me everything I wanted. TLOU2 gave me everything I didn’t want, and did so beautifully and wonderfully. My favorite game... ever?… Expand

    This is without a doubt one of the best games I have ever played. It has some minor flaws, nothing game-breaking or soul-crushing, but it made me think, feel, laugh, cry, shout, jump and physically shake with anxiety during the most pivotal story moments. I've never played something so subversive, heart-pounding, emotional and gripping in my life. This is not just a game; it's so, so much more.

    I gave it a 10/10 rating to try and balance out the shameful number of less-than-2 reviews. But it's no less than a 9/10 for me.

    Because like I said - it isn't perfect. I've seen a very small number of weird graphical glitches, some strange AI behaviour in particular from allies (yes, usually the enemy still can't spot your friends when they run out of cover right in front of them - but this hardly ever happens), and the slightly clunky controls which sometimes leave you frustrated when an easy headshot suddenly becomes a frantic fight for your survival (normally not an issue - as when the gameplay devolves from stealth to action, I have never wanted to reset the checkpoint, because both forms of gameplay are exciting and super fun).

    But honestly? That's about all I can think of. Anything else would be nitpicking. The people who are review-bombing or slating this game for their sad and frankly toxic personal and societal reasons, seriously need to get their priorities straight.

    If you're going to take a story about infected, mushroom-headed zombies taking over the world, and simply complain about the incredibly realistic human stories nestled inside it, and call it outlandish and stupid - you're a complete moron. It's that simple.

    Video games and the stories they tell are going to continue to evolve into something more real, believable, and human than ever before. If you refuse to evolve with them, slither back into the primordial soup from whence you came.

    If you voted this game anything less than 7 just because you didn't like LOU2's "LGBT agenda" (also known as "a bunch of real-life, believable human stories") - perhaps you should stick to the ballistic knives and dual-wielded shotguns of Call of Duty, where you can call strangers "gay" to your hearts content, and scream down the mic when your mother calls you for supper.

    After what I would easily consider an absolute triumph of a game, Naughty Dog at least deserves fair reviews. Not the utter bile being spewed by hopeless, societal rejects.

    And if you've posted story spoilers without even trying to hide them, just to ruin the story for everybody else because you spat your dummy out and had a tantrum - shame on you.    … Expand

    the negatives of this game based solely on my opinion are as follows
    - the treatment of the characters is horrific
    - the story feels very forced and doesn't flow like with one flashback you find out Abby's reason for killing Joel which is he killed her dad. I feel no sympathy and he made it clean while she tortured him without hesitation.
    - Being forced to make decisions like killing dogs as Ellie when we were told we would have the option
    - The sex scene where druckmann I mean manny rawdogged Abby had no actual point in being in the game other than more shock value like with killing joel
    - It feels like I am watching a TV series and not playing a game

    This is a very cool game! I really liked her! I do not understand people who put 0-5. You are stupid creatures, there is not even any propaganda in the game (I PLAYED ANDROMEDA and I know what propaganda is.) Hait the game for nothing. YOU FIRST GO THERE !!!

    Big disappointment. This game seems uninterested in discovering what made the first game great. Instead it's all about social justice and leftist politics. Regardless of your personal politics, you would think a game about zombies wouldn't have politics at it's core, but it does.

    The performances, particularly by Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey are brilliant. Also the gameplay is great, it's smooth and visceral with enough utility and open level design that in my second playthrough, each encounter is totally different, I'm even finding whole new areas and encounters despite exploring pretty thoroughly the first time round.
    It's not perfect, there's the odd pacing issue and one or two plot contrivance but those are easily overlooked and no more egregious than what you'd find in most movies/shows/games. It's an incredible, daring piece of work from a group of artists, sound designers, actors, animators etc all at the top of their game. It's a story that feels like it could only be told in a game. Better than the original, this is probably my favourite video game of all time.    … Expand

I love the symmetry of the story telling between both characters you play and in turn we see the protagonists became what they hated most and the struggle to come to terms with their new normal and place in this unforgiving world. I love that Ellie realizes that the grey area Joel lived in, his motivations ,and his choices reflected her own. In the end there are no happy endings if consumed by revenge. In this new world you have to carve out peace, love, contentment, and forgive or be consumed by the continuous cycle of violence and death.… Expand

It's amazing how a developer intentionally creates a game that is divisive, and then there is backlash and everyone is surprised that a large portion of the audience doesn't like it *gasp*!...everyone knows Joel had it coming, but how they did it was terrible. To quote, just because something is explained DOES NOT mean it is good storytelling...to top it all off they go out of their way to make you care about Abby (lol that never happens)...overall, very disappointed, massive step down from the first game....they literally have no idea what made the first game so special.… Expand

    I've just recently finished the game (took me 31 hours). I loved the gameplay and the music, the story was extremely dark, grim and depressive, but that's exactly what I expected from this universe. I enjoyed both of the campaigns, and was quite surprised by the fact that my approach towards one of the main characters completely shifted at the end (from hate to sympathy).
    The gameplay was    I've just recently finished the game (took me 31 hours). I loved the gameplay and the music, the story was extremely dark, grim and depressive, but that's exactly what I expected from this universe. I enjoyed both of the campaigns, and was quite surprised by the fact that my approach towards one of the main characters completely shifted at the end (from hate to sympathy).
    The gameplay was an improved version of the first game, and that was fine. The horror was there and after a few notable moments I've needed short breaks in order to put myself back together.
    The visuals are stunning (possibly the best looking PS4 game), and at some of the locations I've been just admiring the environment.

Flashbacks - the best part of the game script, bravo. Gameplay: is updated gameplay of the first game.    Graphic: updated engine of Uncharted 4, that's good.

    Hate and hype around the game: I wouldn't have noticed some things if the game hadn't been hated on the Internet. Think about it.

This game would have earn 10/10, but the story has some issues. The story is not trash like others say, but the story structure is too complex for some players to get it. At some scenes, you can see they tried too hard to stretch the message. I would have love it if they rearrange the orders of some scenes. I would have love it if we get to play Joe for an hour or two building up to his death, then, let us play as Ellie and Joe; it would make Abby introduction strong.… Expand

    Such a beautiful, heartbreaking and thought provoking game. I won’t include spoilers but this game is and incredible work of art and storytelling that will leave you as emotionally devastated as the first game.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
