    This game is a masterpiece that does not hold back, nor does it care about your feelings or your thoughts of it but it does give you both feelings and thoughts. The last of us 2 takes you on the journey it wants to tell you and it doesn't take you any other way. If I could I would give this game an 11/10 but unfortunately I can't.

    ---- Story:
    The game's story is good, not worse than the first part. I liked it, I liked the end very much, it was not usual. I had no problem with the slow pace, but I have a problem with the order of the chapters, for me this game would have been great if it had a different order for the chapters, it would have given me more feelings if the order was different. I mean; instead of playing with Ellie then playing with Abby it would have been better to play a chapter by Ellie then a chapter by Abby, it would have a bigger impact on the player. The other thing that I have a problem with is that there were too many flashbacks in the game. I don't say we remove them, some of them were good and important, but I think it would have been better to give them to the player at the start of the game, especially "The Park" chapter would have been great at the beginning of the game. So the story is good except for two things, 1. The Chapter Order. 2. Too Many Flashbacks.
    ---- Game-play:
    The game-play was the main reason that I had no problem with the slow pace. The game-play is so enjoyable, with the accessibility options, guns, and animations. New things like: going prone, the dogs as enemies, the difference between the human enemies, and the boss fight. The game-play is excellent.
    ---- Game Direction & Art Direction:
    The game direction in the cut-scenes was very good, I liked it. The Art Direction was also very good, the designs of everything were excellent.
    ---- Graphics & Sound:
    The graphics and graphical details in the game were great, this is one of the Generation's best games in terms of graphics with God of War and Red Dead Redemption II. And this is the best one in terms of graphical details. In terms of sound, the sound design was also great, the whistles and everything, and of course the soundtrack is great, I am still listening to it after finishing the game.

    But i don't like some plot's moments like Ellie's inconsistency: First she want to kill Abby and then she doesn't kill her. Naugty Dog it's one of the best game company

Eu adorei o jogo tanto pelos gráficos,enrendo, jogabilidade e a história em si, mas eu não entendo o motivo dos jogadores terem um grande ódio pelo jogo, quando Abby mata Joel fiquei furioso e tinha sede de vingança, mas com o passar da história essa sede que eu possuía foi perdendo razão e ela se terminou por completo quando o jogo nos coloca na pele de Abby vendo o mundo por outros olhos, que ela era mais uma pessoa em meio ao um apocalipse estava tentando sobreviver, com razão ela tinha motivos para matar Joel por ter matado seu pai, privado o mundo de uma possível cura pra humanidade fora de ter matado outras pessoas por egoísmo, na cena em que entramos no quarto de Abby isso caiu a ficha pra mim, tanto Ellie como Abby estavam apenas agindo da maneira como elas achavam que era a correta, isso é uma questão de moral e perspectiva. Even though the game has some narrative problems, I don’t think it’s enough to detonate. Remembering I’m not a fanboy, but I have to recognize that the game is wonderful. There is no point in watching videos or lives, as you will not be as immersed as you are playing, because your attention and emotion is a thousand times better. I have a friend who is an xbox fanboy, and he detonated the game, saying it was this and that. But if he had played the story it would be different. For in other respects, other than the somewhat problematic story that in the end is good, even controlling the villain who killed an important character, the game is impeccable and deserves your attention and a chance!… Expand

    This game was an absolute 10/10. A masterpiece. Of course it is relevant only with the first game. The characters, the old ones and the new ones, are beautifully well written. It is a sad and tragic story for sure, with some heartwarming and touching moments. Yes, I get it, this is not how most of the players imagined a sequel, but we all have to agree on this and admit it: this is 'The Last of Us' way, you can't get a truly happy ending, this world is not about that. Also this is not about fan service. Yes it is an emotional rollercoaster, I am amazed how I hated someone at the beginning and how I loved the same character at the end, how my opinion changed time to time in a lot of ways. I love it.     The best game that could be made. This game with Uncharted and Last of us 1 and God of War is really unique. The story is very engaging and the characters are very lovable and real. I was really surprised to see all that negative criticism. 1000 thanks to Naughty Dog Studio and Sony for making this beautiful game.

The storyline is gripping and powerful as you go through the walks of life of both Ellie and Abby. You get a sense of great story telling here, understanding the story from different point of views. I got very invested into the story to say the least. Character development are very well done here leaving no ambiguity or questions unanswered. It is an experience not to be missed if you've played the first game! There's a lot of unnecessary comments where a load of people are just jumping on the band wagon for the sake of it.

    Yes Joel dies but this is fine as Ellie carries the torch now and it's a really good shock factor too! Yes the ending has divided fans too but Ellie reflects on her decision at the end which gives her some humanity back from the teachings of Joel.

    The only not so good thing on this game was it can feel repetitive sometimes sneaking around, killing infected, running into human survivors and more sneaking around.    … Expand

    As a first thought, I genuinely think this game is an expert in making you have very mixed opinions which are ALL equally valid. In my case, there are a lot of things that I absolutely agree with the critics but at the same time, I don't. Many say that the ending is horrible, and I get why they would say it and in some way, I agree with them. But also, by looking at the full story you realize that it is at the same time a very good ending. That's what I find most interesting. A lot of events and mayor spoilers that piss everyone off can be really good and ingenious and absolutely bad at the same time. In my case, when I finished the game I didn't even know if I liked it or not. It was so confusing and it led to lots of mixed opinions in my head that I had no "only thought" about it.

    Technically it is a masterpiece. The graphics are mindblowing and the gameplay is on point. The combat is probably the most fun I had ever had and it all blends together nicely. The acting is award-winning, as well as the soundtrack by Santaolalla and all the sound-making in general. The environments, as all of Naughty Dog's games, are just breathtaking. The bad thing that I and lots of people found about this game is the story. I personally loved TLOU and its narrative, as it became one of the games that most impacted me and has definitively changed my way of seeing things. I have completed it 3 times, the last one in the most difficult setting. That is why I wanted TLOU 2 to be a continuation of Ellie's and Joel's story because I wanted to be back at that world again. The problem for me is that it doesn't really happen, and half or more of the game is filled with new characters with different stories in different places. Some people may like this and its why I said that this game is an expert in leaving different opinions that are all equally valid. For me, I wanted a story based on Joel and Ellie again, but maybe others wanted a different narrative with different characters, which I respect the same way I respect my likings.

    In general, I don't think at all the game deserves the hate it got at its release, because it is a really good game. And I respect the fact that they risked a lot to make something different and not just go to the safe option and make a game that everyone will like so they can get guaranteed success. They really tried to make something different and not just give the player what he wants and that's something all of us should consider before leaving a negative review.

    In conclusion, I think it is a good game and it is not something you will regret buying, although you will have to keep in mind the fact that there may be aspects or parts of the game which you might not like.    … Expand

I’ll admit that there are times where the pacing suffers, but after multiple playthroughs I see that these pacing hurdles are necessary for the collective understanding of the game. The visuals are breathtaking, the gameplay, If still familiar, is fresh, updated, and above all, super fun. Everything leads up to one staggering conclusion that challenged me me as a gamer and as a human. I’ve never had to question my actions in a video game before until I’ve played this game, and that on its own, is a remarkable accomplishment. Like Troy Baker said: “fans need to come into this game with an open mind.” He was right because this game will not sit right with some fans because of some narrative choices, but just because you don’t like where the story goes, it doesn’t mean that the story doesn’t work.     Technical:
    This game is beautiful in every sense. The models, textures, sound and animations are all masterfully done. The character animation in particular, how you character interacts with the world and the fluid blending of animations together the art team here deserves so much praise. It is the little things when it comes to this all of the attention to detail in the small secondary animations, Ellie's bag gently swaying as she runs along, putting her hand on a wall when she is next to it, using her left hand to loot when the right is busy interacting with something else. It's these small touches that just ground the character in the environment and just make things look so much more natural. The top notch character modeling, texturing and primary animation definitely helps too. The mo-capped cutscenes are out of this world as well so natural and life like especially the facial animation which is so easy to get wrong, I think I'd need far more than 5000 characters to truly convey how amazingly this game is textured, modeled and animated.

    Now lets just talk about enemies for a bit. Your enemies aren't just enemies they have some humanity about them which is done through masterful use of sound and animation. From them calling out their friends name in horror after you've shot them, to your enemy begging you not to kill them when you grab them from behind to the struggling and as the hope and life fades from their beautifully animated faces. I played this game killing as few humans as possible because I just felt awful every time I had to do it and no other game has ever made me feel like that about rank and file enemies.

    This game feels visceral, gritty and uncomfortable to play (in the best way possible) and everything feeds into that from the sound design, the animations and the gameplay.

    There were some definite sections that felt a little drawn out and there were some points I wanted another way to deal with problems other than violence. One section jumps to mind where I encountered some WLF deserters in a hotel and one of them tried to attack me thinking I was sent to kill them so I took one of them hostage and stood there almost waiting for Ellie to say something but after a while just realized that there was no way to end this encounter without just murdering them all. Which I get it, it's not that kind of game but still it just kind of felt like the game was limiting me in the way I wanted to solve the situation. But for the most part your actions in game make sense with the way the narrative is being told.

    No game is perfect (hence the 9) and there are going to be poor moments and better ones but I assure you that the good moments and the moments where everything just makes sense far outweigh the bad ones.

    Story:
    There are a lot of complaints here about story and I just have to say I don't get them. At the start you're presented with a villain and a classic revenge story. As the story goes on you see the lengths that Ellie goes through in a series of sequences that left me feeling genuinely uncomfortable at some points. Then it all gets flipped on it's head and as you play as Abby you grow attached to the characters you just spent the first 10+ hours doing anything in your power to kill. You see the WLF as a community trying to survive rather than the brutal revolutionary group that you were facing as Ellie. Then when you see the two of them facing off I actually didn't want to see harm come to either of them.

    The game almost tells two stories back to back, the revenge story in the present day and Ellie and Joels relationship as Ellie grows up after the last game through flashbacks. These two stories seem to mimic each other as the game goes on with the confrontation about the events of the first game coming at the height of the revenge story, both stories are at the point of "There can be no forgiveness" both for Abby and for Joel. We see the toll that revenge takes on Ellie as the game goes on, both physically and mentally, she is beaten, cut, bruised and bitten but keeps going, she loses people dear to her and keeps going and when she finally gets out and gets the farm life that her and Dina dreamed of she is still consumed with the need for revenge and just goes back. Then in the final scenes we see her save Abby from the Rattlers and then try one more time to get her revenge but gets a flashback to the night where she told Joel she will try to forgive him and similarly she lets Abby go and seems to try and forgive her too.

    This is a story about revenge the lengths someone will go to for it, the damage it will do and how revenge begets more revenge begets more revenge. But most importantly it's a story about forgiveness and how it can be the hardest thing of all to do. Everyone has their own side of the story there is no good here, no evil, just different perspectives    … Expand

    É simplesmente o melhor jogo da geração, na minha opinião é claro. Os gráficos, a história, a jogabilidade, a trilha sonora, é impecável! Infelizmente não existe jogo perfeito, mas the Last of us parte ll é o que chega mais perto!

    Whatever you like the conclusion of Ellie's story or not, it is one of the best narrative driven games of history and one of the best stories in multimedia in general. Technically and in character development it sets a new high and push the industry forward.

It asks us to drop our typical and satisfying “f*ck up the bad guys” mentality and instead think about the effect those actions would have on an actual human being. I like this realisric change in pace, however I understand it’s not for everyone. Some people want to just enjoy a brainless game. I enjoyed this game for being deeper than that. The writers of this game didn’t treat our characters like simple murder machines, but people who have consequences for their actions physically, mentally, and socially.

    Go in with an open mind and give this game a shot. It is definitely worth a buy and definitely worth your time. Even if its to be apart of this wild conversation amongst gamers.    … Expand

Though the game was set on revenge...it really wasn't at all about revenge, but the suffering that both Ellie and Abby have gone through, and forgiveness. The ending shows that forgiveness is the only thing that really makes you human if you understand that it isn't just ellie who suffers from the death of Joel. Abby lost her father too, and yes killing Joel is horrible and the only thing Abby was set out to do is avenge her father, but Ellie did the same thing right after Abby killed her own father figure.Throughout the game you see their pasts and understand that survival is hard but forgiveness is even harder.… Expand

I liked the way Joel died, but I don't agree with the way they developed Abby, not showing how Ellie affected her story after Joel's death. And we had to be able to kill Abby and let Lev live.     The ending was beautiful, thank you for this story Neil. If you're at all a fan of the first game you'd be a fool to miss this game, tops it in every way gameplay wise and the story brings a weight to every action.

    I've been avoiding all news and reviews ever since its release. Haven't finished the game until July 2nd. Not sure these bombed reviews are real or fake, but I personally love it so much and I would not be hesitated to give it a 10.
    Currently on my New Game+ and half way of platinum it.

I gave it a 7 because the amount of work that went into this is huge and credit has to be given to the developers. But unfortunately I think that the story was quite a big misstep which is a real shame.
    To the people at Naughty Dog, if you read this. Please, if you aren't absolutely positive that you can nail the third game, and give the characters the respect that they deserve, don't make it.    … Expand

    If the game was not a sequel to a game with one of the best stories in gaming then it would have been recieved much differently. But it is so we need to keep that in mind. The gameplay is really good i enjoyed every encounter and it was a blast to play through. But what people wanted out of the game they didnt get. They wanted a story near the same level as the first's. And this just didnt cut. The stories main push was when joel lost at a golf game to Abby. And you are meant to hate her. Which worked too well in the beginning. When you have to play half the game as someone who killed everyone's favorite character it will be hard to get them on your good side. I myself ended up liking Abby more as a person, because Ellie has no redeeming values. Ellie kills everyone and has no mercy. Even when Abby lets her live 2 times, she wants to kill Abby. And even when someone gets her what she wants she kills them. When playing as Abby you meet Lev and Yara. Abby is in a war with their people and even with that she feels bad enough to want to save them. Ellie is too caught up on revenge i just cant get myself to feel bad for her anymore. Joel is still my guy though. And i assure you if we didnt play as joel and ellie in the first game alot more people would agree with me. And the whole game was for nothing. Ellie never kills abby and just loses everything for nothing. Which gives us, the player who played as Ellie no teal payoff. This game isnt perfect. But people are giving way too much hate.     I loved the game, it’s a very good game, and the final it’s almost poetic. I really can’t understand why the people hate it, maybe they don’t understand the good stories with logic. But I loved that everything that happens have a sense in the game and the story. I loved it.

Если рассматривать в купе с дизайном локаций, то нужно отметить возможность ложиться, на локациях присутствует трава, можно залезать под грузовики, что заметно увеличивает возможности геймплея, добавлены маленькие ништяки с разбиванием стекол, часто можно использовать воду, как элемент укрытия, это что касается левел-дизайна. Более возможность прокачивать несколько ветвей навыков, улучшена прокачка оружия, особенно приятна визуальная часть этого момента. Нельзя не сказать, что в некоторых моментах геймплей довольно затянут, игроку часто дается возможность поизучать окружающий мир, это как и плюс, так и минус, особенно для игроков, жаждущих непрерывного экшена, который тут кстати очень круто и качественно поставлен.
    Геймплей и левл-дизайн - 8.
    Итак, переходим к самому вкусному. Сразу скажу про ЛГБТ повестку, бояться ее явно не стоит, эта тема абсолютно не давит на игрока, а "традиционный" секс тут гораздо жестче, чем безобидные поцелуйчики главной героини. Сюжет. Очень трудно говорить что-то про него объективно. Скажу сразу. Эта игра - это воплощение боли и страданий, самое жестокое и тяжелое, что я когда-либо видел в физическом и тем более моральном плане. Эта игра не создана для того, чтобы ее любили. И в этом ее суть. Из нее не получится сделать ламповое прохождение, как это можно было сделать с первой частью. И это абсолютно уникальный эмоциональный опыт, который вы не получите ни в какой другой игре, не смотря на любые нюансы, именно поэтому такая разрозненность мнения игроков. Хочу сразу сказать, что абсолютно все персонажи раскрываются в полной мере, присутствует огромное количество деталей, которые будут просто выжимать из вас эмоции (не говоря уже об основных сюжетных моментах). Здесь представлен реальный мир, мир постапокалипсиса, где все могут проявлять как доброту, так и безграничную жестокость, неотъемлемую часть этого мира.
    Моя личная субъективная оценка The Last of Us Part II - 8,5, округляю до 9.

The big one near the beginning with the character we all came to love. I’m not mad it happened as I expected for a while it was to happen. I just don’t think it was executed in the right way. It was just to convenient. Served up perfectly on a platter and handed over. It seems to unlikely that he would be the one to be right there at that exact second to be a hero and then lead to then lead to the group no questions asked while they are in their territory. The second part I did not like was the ending. It just makes the whole game, every thing that happened and every thing you lost seem completely pointless. You have no issue doing what you do and to who the entire game and then suddenly at the end you do? I think it would of been much better if you were given the choice of weather or not to do it.    … Expand

    The technical quality of the game is unquestionable and I had a lot of fun with the gameplay. However, the story left much to be desired and left me frustrated. The characters had a return instead an evolution and some even suffered from lack of charisma.

Joel dying and the ending are fine, that isnt the issue. The fact that Abby is a good chunk of the game is annoying and like i said, it feels like a waste. The whole time during her part I felt bored and just trying to rush through so I can get Just get back to the theater. Unfortunately for people like me who waited 7 years for the epic conclusion of this story i got disapointed with the way the story was portraied, it was written badly, if they wanted for us to conect a bit with abby we should have played with her in the beginning developing her story until the moment of her revenge, not like they did.

    I just finished the game and it was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster. At some points I wasn't sure, if I could keep playing.
    In the end it was one of the best games I've ever played.
    Sad to see the horrible reactions the developers have to deal with.
    I hope there will come a time where everyone can be as they want to be without having to deal with hate and aggression.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
