    Maybe some people hated the game because of the end, but i think that the end had a deep massage that revenge could take everything from you and make you lonely

    Very nice graphics and detail for dated hardware that PS4 already is, gameplay is pretty good, as it's practically the same as the first part. But the plot, oh boi. They make you play as a character that you hate for half a game, and then you get an ending so unsatisfying it's hard to describe. This game deserves 4-5 for technical aspects alone, but not a point more, since the story is asVery nice graphics and detail for dated hardware that PS4 already is, gameplay is pretty good, as it's practically the same as the first part.     It doesn't even 'THE LAST OF US 2', It's 'part. 2'.
    So it is obvious to expect some vibe from the first piece.
    But I can't see any of it.
    It's not about 'What's right', It's about 'Arrogance of director'.

From a technical point of view, the game is 910,but if you start from the plot, it is a complete bottom, Ellie's motivation is clear:to avenge Joel's death, but Abby's motivation ends in the prologue.     Having all the good graphics and gameplay doesnt justify the bad and poor plot and storyline. This would be great for Nintendo Nes where players were looking for entertainment only

    the writing is awful, the visuals are okay but that's what you're SUPPOSED to do so it's not really anything to reward them over the gameplay and mechanics have very little changes, some of the mechanics are outright useless but its not something really amazing. the only part of this game truly new and something to talk about is the animations, but seeing as    could've been better.

    This game is hard, it ask so much of the player, I get why people could hate it, it provokes you to hate, to feel empty and full of rage. The story has some problems and I still doubt they chose the best way to tell the story some parts are insufferable to play through but if you give it a chance and heard what it's trying to say it is 100% worth it .     i liked the game for its graphics and motion design but it's still not revolution if i will compare it with the previous part.The plot is extremely weak.I guess it was ruined by liberal ideas at some point.It is more like a hidden propahanda at gameplay part..This is an obvious opression of some froup of people in a game.Unfortunatelly bad result for naughty dog.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Premetto di non aver giocato a TLOU o a TLOU2 (quindi prendete questa recensione con le pinze), ma avendo visto qualche video sul gioco in questione, volevo dire la mia al riguardo.

    Partiamo dalle grafiche e dal gameplay:
    Le grafiche sono incredibilmente curate, e mostra l'impegno del team grafico di Naughty Dog. Il gore è fatto molto bene, gli ambienti sembrano vivi, gli effetti sono curati, e ben altro ancora.
    Il Gameplay è un miglioramento, dove è possibile fare uccisioni stealth (che però diventano ripetitive), ed oltre agli zombi ci sono anche gli esseri umani come nemici.

    Tuttavia, è qui che finiscono i positivi, e si apre un punto veramente doloroso riguardo ciò che ha fatto TLOU amato: la storia.

    Oddio, si può comprendere che Ellie e Joel non siano dei santi, ma il problema è che la gente è cresciuta con loro, legati ad un'attaccamento emotivo per un frammento di emozione che i due protagonisti man mano mostravano. E vedere un Joel venire ucciso dalle stesse persone che ha salvato, ed Ellie soffrire un PTSD per colpa di ciò, è triste.

    Il gioco poi ci fa mettere nei panni di Abby. Per essere onesti, Abby è un personaggio scritto in maniera povera: il gioco ci forza a dover giocare con lei, e farci pure sentire in colpa per cose che il giocatore ha causato (tipo giocare con un cane che verrà poi ucciso in un punto del gioco, senza possibilità di evitare ciò), o mostrarci come lei fosse la figlia di un dottore della Firefly che è stato ucciso da Joel nel primo capitolo. Ma non è così che funziona. Far piacere un personaggio alla gente in modo forzato rischia solo di farlo odiare di più.
    Oltretutto, altri personaggi introdotti faticano ad avere una personalità o una motivazione, in quanto non sono stati introdotti per bene.

    La cosa più deludente, tuttavia, è il finale. Io non ho problemi se si usa la motivazione della vendetta come parte di trama, ma dev'essere scritta bene. Il finale ha Ellie che risparmia e lascia andare Abby (nonostante Ellie stessa abbia ucciso centinaia di persone per arrivare a lei), e torna alla fattoria dove ha lasciato Dina e Tommy, soltanto per ritrovarla vuota. Ed avendo pure perso due dita tramite un morso di Abby, ha perso persino la canzone di Joe, facendo sì che se ne andasse lasciando la chitarra.
    Tuttavia, il motivo per cui il finale è deludente, è che nonostante la motivazione che la vendetta è sbagliata, Abby se ne esce senza conseguenze, nonostante il fatto che avesse ucciso qualcuno e paralizzato il suo figlio (oltre ad aver cercato di far fuori una ragazza incinta), ed Ellie, che ha cercato di vendicare non solo il fatto che Joel fosse perito in maniera triste, ma anche Tommy che aveva perso l'occhio ed è rimasto in paralisi, è rimasta senza nessuno. In pratica ciò che ci vuole far dire il gioco è "Revenge Bad, Ellie Bad." e "Revenge Good, Abby Good", e ciò è errato.

    In conclusione. Il gioco è decente. Non è un capolavoro, soltanto decente. Grafiche e gameplay sono al meglio dell'originale, ed è un dato di fatto. Ma per la storia, non ho altro da dire, se non un "Perché, Neil Druckmann?"

    >Joel foolishly believed he could trust outsiders when he was NEVER like that to begin with.
    >Kill off Joel without him saying much to Abby, and no lastwords to Ellie.
    >Force us to play Abby, the one who took Ellie's father Joel away from her.
    >You changed Ellie's looks... to where she's unrecognizable in some aspects compared tothe first game.
    >Made the game way too easy.
    >While you managed to make the world feel somewhat immersive, you still made it feel super empty.
    >The Seraphites were a knockoff of Eden's Gate from Far Cry New Dawn.
    >Gave us a bittersweet first ending where Ellie settles down with Dinah but it still felt lonely, then made everything go go **** with PTSD.
    >Made a tortured Ellie travel a far far way to kill Abby, BUT ONLY TO SPARE THE ENEMY. There was NO reason to let all of those killings be in vain. The real Ellie believed that it couldn't be for nothing. Nobody would have hunted down Ellie or anyone else if Abby was killed. Joel was literally just saving his daughter from being murdered, and then he had to pay with his life. Ellie lost her father with the last memories of him being beaten to death, into a bloody pulp. So she let's the one that caused her so much pain and agony go, unjustified mercy. Abby got so many people on both sides killed. So Abby also takes Ellie's two fingers from her. Who thought this was a good idea?
    >after all that, Dina leaves her. You killed Joel, but you turned Ellie's lide into HELL.
    I knowhow the review system works for the most part, but I doubt the official reviews were genuine in any way, shape, or form. Anything bellow a 5 is pretty much negative. So this 2 was well deserved. The idea you were still able to get 5 and up is disgusting. The only thing good about this game was the strong attention to physical detail, but that's really it. This was one of the greatest disappointments for me. I over looked the PC stuff that even I'm personally opposed to, only to find out it really doesn't matter because either way, this was one of the largest media failures in a long while. Now ND can't even take the criticism and try to do right by people. May they go bankrupt. I've signed the petition to urge Sony to rework TLOU Part 2's story. Maybe they can replace Druckmann with somebody worthy of giving the Last of Us the sequel it actually deserves.    … Expand

    I tried all night when I was finished, to think of another game that made me feel bad instead of good when finished, I couldn't.

    I don’t get the hate this game is getting. It’s a masterpiece as a video game. The point of the first two hours is to give you trauma and how to start your path in the road of vengeance. At the end of the game,the whole point is to break the path of revenge and have a little empathy.     Story kind of sucks. I hate romance in action/zombie game. I hated it in the walking dead. I hate it in the Last of Us 2. Just make a game about people fighting zombies. Do you know why they didn’t put zombies in the Notebook? Because it would have been a dumpster fire.    … Expand

Terrible narrative, storytelling, poor quality of joel's death we didn't even get to play as him, we didn't get to play as Tommy and we were forced to play for 8 **** hours as Abby a dislikable character who just killed the main character with a golf stick in order to understand her actions and feel sympathy for her while I don't give a **** about her and not only that but the ending is even worse while she fought her when she has lost muscle had no energy and she even removed 2 fingers of Ellie and basically losing everything while Abby got away with the kid.
    The whole game was just to give the message that with vengeance won't solve everything and will hurt everyone surround you what a joke    … Expand

    Graphics were slightly better than the first game that came out 7 years ago so that's good. Almost every corner has something to find, and I felt rewarded for digging through drawers and searching every room. And as much as gaming can be an escape, the state of the real world right now provides a lens that is difficult to ignore; I never thought seeing the remains of a bookstore or a restaurant would hit harder due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but they did

    The production values that Naughty Dog brings to this experience are second to none. The characters don’t only look good – they look real, complete with quirks that make them more believable as humans. The world and its inhabitants are visually stunning, with artwork and animations you will see just once, quips and conversations that make the world feel alive, and a soundtrack and sound effects that brought chills to my spine.     I can rave about the attention to detail, the world, and the combat, but the story is where The Last of Us Part II sets a new bar. It is more about challenging your heart than your reflexes, and I simply cannot recommend it enough. There is much to be said about this game that can’t be said here due to spoilers, but you should play it as soon as you can with as little info as possible. But you don’t need to know specifics to appreciate how the gameplay and environmental cues all play into a single purpose: They make you feel the choices, helplessness, and the violence at the heart of this world and its characters. The story was so well written and deep, it really got into your heart. How to story played out, you could really feel like, you would have made the same decisions as Joel did, especially in the end. After losing his daughter, and the amount of time he had spent with Ellie, he really looked at her like his OWN daughter and he would have done anything to protect her. The gameplay was also nice and the graphics were awesome too.
    The game was story-driven, it had amazing characters and an amazing story, and these are the two components which made the game being liked by soooo many people.
    When they announced that a second part was coming, I was so excited, I wanted to see the two characters, I really got to love during the first game, appear again and have another great adventure/journey together.
    I had no problem with Ellie being the main protagonist, I thought "that's cool, this time Joel will be the one accompanying her and not vice-versa"
    I also had no problem with Ellie having a relationship with Dina, they look so cute together.
    I also had no problem, when they announced Abby, and that we will be playing with her as well.
    I was like "okay, that's cool too, I'm sure that she is connected to Ellie or to Joel somehow, and that's why they are introducing her"
    I prepared myself for the release, I said to myself "I'm gonna stay up and watch the whole game no matter how long it takes"
    By the time I got to the end, I was shocked... I did not belive it at first.
    You are 20 minutes or so into the game and they frekain. kill. Joel, who was the main protagonist in the first game, the one who was loved by the whole gaming community
    I don't have a problem with Joel being killed, I think the community already knew this, I mean they were prepared for Joel being killed at somepoint
    But. Not. Like. This. He died like a freaking noob who just started surviving in a world which made a lot of people crazy and greedy towards others.
    Why would he die like that? He is old, he has been surviving in this world for who knows how long, and he and his brother have just met a group of strangers, and they tell them their NAME?!
    Why on Earth would they do that?!
    Time passes, and the game forces you to play with Abby, for half of the game and the developers expect the players to feel sorry for Abby, just because his father was killed by Joel, and she got her revenge. She is NOT a likeable character, AT ALL. Putting aside all the gender and sexuality things, she kills the ONE PERSON who we loved so much and they want us to feel her sadness and motivations why she was like that and why she did it.
    The developers put Ellie and Joel in the villain role, like they are the bad guys, doing terrible things and just... hurting others.
    Don't tell the players they can't play this game with a "closed-mind". Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY is going to like Abby.
    And then the Ending... oh god... this could take up a whole another topic.
    After Joel's death, Ellie swears vengence, saying she will kill every one of them, so she does with everyone BUT Abby.
    After the game forces you to play as Abby and try to kill Ellie, the screen goes black and just random months pass. like... wut...?
    And then Ellie sets out to finally get her revenge on Abby, finds her, helps her get to the boats so they can escape, but then challenges her to a fist fight, finally settling the score between the two of them.
    Ellie has the upper hand, starts choking Abby underneath the water, then gets a flashback on Joel, and then randomly releases Abby and lets her go...
    Then Ellie returns home, hoping that she will find Dina and their child, but finds nothing. Oh and she also loses the last memory of Joel, the guitar (she can't play it, because Abby bit off two of Ellie's fingers), and then just starts walking out the farm...
    In a game, where the story and the characters make the game great, you need to have a great story and loveable characters, but the developers failed to deliver
    The whole story makes no sense. This is not how we got to know Joel and Ellie, they would never have done such things.
    Then the devs come and be like, "We don't understand why players don't like the game", even calling us incels...
    Like really? You are making a game, which has an audience, then you decide to put your own political and sexual perspectives on the game, going so far as insulting your own audience.
    Suprised people wanting to refund the game?
    A game is made to entertain people, not to teach politics and gender/sexual equality. Everyone has their own opinion about the last two things, you have no right to change that and shouldn't try forcing your own on others.

    Famose for me - is the pregnancy of Mel - which is absolutly no visible when they capture Joel and is like in the sevent month when was killed (not to mention the madness of woman in such pregnancy level to go on a combat mission AND shoot, jump, hide and sprint)...

    Also the main message of the game is quite contradicting with what the director was speaking for the game. In any way - I don't agree on personal level - because what you can take from the game is... Revenge is -- Good. And I don't think should be that way.
    Abby is the quintessense of this. She finish her revenge plot, redeem for her crime and live happy ever after... No burden or else.
    Yes, it send Ellie on her dark and grim quest, but not achieving revenge - make Ellies life missarable - and not compleating her cicle actually was looking way worse...

    Ok. I finish here, because I can write and write with hours on any moment of the story in this game that is so so bad...

They make you feel the need for vengeance and then they wear you down so you just don't care about it anymore. The hate doesn't feel deserved.

    Do I think the game is a little long and the way they broke up the story right at the climax kind of takes you out of the momentum? For sure. But after finishing the whole thing it makes a lot more sense.

    The player and Ellie are both so focused on vengeance against Abby that when we are forced to play as Abby and see her struggles over the same 3 days and the way she gets wrapped up in the lives of Lev (love him) and Yara, you start off being annoyed. Why do I have to play as Abby? She killed Joel. I hate her. But then you're with her for so long and taken away from Ellie's story and her anger that you start to feel like, maybe it's not worth it anymore.

    The final fight scene between Ellie and Abby at the boats feels forced and stupid on Ellie's part. Abby doesn't want to fight anymore. Ellie's gotten her ass kicked every time she's tried to fight Abby. Abby has obviously suffered at the hands of Ellie and Tommy for what she's done plus extra from the Rattlers. By this point, it's over. Time to move on.

    And in the end, her vengeance has left Ellie dealing with her biggest fear. Being left alone.

    Also if you thought Joel was going to be alive through this whole game you're kind of a dummy. The way he went out was brutal and sucked a lot but what exactly would have been the point of this game without his death? Grow up, it's a good game.    … Expand

I am not anymore, I regret buying the game. and I don't care anymore if will be part 3 or not. in mean time, I am not interested in Naughty dog games anymore.

    Ответ на этот вопрос очень простой, геймплей - очень неплохой и наверное один из лучших, графика - аналогично геймплею, сюжет и все что не завязано с технической составляющей игры - очень и очень скучно, неинтересно и ужасно.
    Одно дело если бы сюжет был просто неинтересным, но нет, он просто ужасен, зачем нужно было внедрять в игру этот геймплей за Эбби, При чем 10 часов, зачем?
    Вы думаете я не понимаю что эти люди не звери и реально хотели спасти человечество?
    Короче, первые 10 ч геймплея ещё переносимы но потом, это просто лгбт симулятор.

    - La jugabilidad mantiene y expande el ya visto en la primera parte, muy dinámico y divertido.

    - La banda sonora

    - Flashbacks de Ellie entre el primer y el segundo juego.

    Lo peor:

    - La historia es mala con ganas, aparentando de una profundidad a partir de clichés típicos de cualquier película del montón. Intenta abarcar muchos temas y personajes con diferentes sensibilidades, pero sin llegar a profundizar en los personajes de la manera que podemos apreciar en la primera parte, incluso quitando algo de veracidad.

    - El uso de un segundo personaje durante la mitad de la historia, personaje con el que yo nunca la disfrute ni conecte con ella, con una historia tediosa y sin mucha importancia durante la mayor parte para la trama principal. Forzando la evolución del personaje de forma inverosímil para poder recrear una simpatía parecida al de la primera parte (yo personalmente solo disfrute de esta parte cuando la mataban).

    - El final es un completo despropósito y sin sentido, solo con unos cambios en los acontecimientos se podría haber conseguido un final bastante épico, dando un sentido profundo al mensaje sobre la venganza y sus consecuencias.

    - La IA de los enemigos no ha mejorado lo que me hubiera gustado, en difícil me ha parecido bastante fácil excepto un enemigo final.

    En general, el juego es un escupitajo al legado de la primera parte, olvidándose la narrativa que cautivo a todos los jugadores. Yo personalmente no lo recomiendo, todo y que la jugabilidad es divertida, la historia o los personajes te dejan todo el rato un amargo sabor de boca. En mi caso, lo venderé a la que pueda y intentaré olvidarlo lo antes posible, para mí el final de la saga se queda en la primera parte.     Even so, the characters feel like new characters based on their decisions (Ellie, Tommy) Hate this game - All this waiting time and literally for nothing.

    If you ruin all of Last of Us IP and horrible story that nobody care than it is a bad game. One of the worst in the gaming history. Joel and Ellie deserves better.

    Neil Druckmann made a lot of hard décision i think to make this game masterpiece at my mind, yes the game is Dark and make you emotionaly disturb but that what it take to make a game so original, not a lot of company make things lioke that. The gameplay, graphics and the action are perfect!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
