    Overall I loved the game. A lot of people are showing hate to this game simply because they feel way too attached to characters from the first game. Especially considering that the game is set in a post apocalyptic world where people die at any moment in the most unexpected ways. It’s because of these angering yet realistic and haunting moments that make this game beautiful. People whoOverall I loved the game.     YOU CANNOT RATE THIS GAME IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED IT YET! I'm not surprised that some people did't complete this game but again you have to play the whole thing in order for you to understand the meaning of this game. From my perspective - Everything comes to an end either you like it or not, it's how the    I know there's many user dislikes for this game, and I'll tell you why.

For all the passage, I experienced so many different emotions that I did not experience for passing all the games. At the very beginning, I firmly decided: I will not forgive. This game undoubtedly came into my hands and I had all the expectations set and then they were not in vain, I leave with a taste in my mouth that no other game had ever left me, it is already my favorite game and I dare say that for My taste is catapulted above its predecessor, I do not intend to try to feel like a critic like all the internet trolls who say that history is rubbish but if I share that this game caused me different feelings, even those found, from the fact of the human nature to seek justice (revenge) in the face of a traumatizing fact that is lived, up to the compassion, forgiveness and repentance generated by the fact of being able to take revenge by your own hand and not being able to do it because your conscience tells you that it is not the right thing. I think that's what the story is about or at least that transmitted to me, I am happy and because you did not ask here is my brief opinion of this that more than a game is a great experience.… Expand

The story has been very intriguing, sorry all these incels miss their boi Joel but WTF do you expect to happen when you kill entire factions of people.

    If you don't like this game you need to look in the mirror and figure out why you hate women so much. Gay people exist, gay people deserve to represented.

    if you enjoyed the first, the second one will blow your mind in different levels. It perfects its mechanics, its visual, its music, its cinematic and it takes the storytelling to whole new level, it make you experience how far dark side of the human beings can reach. Just stop reading reviews and just live the experience by yourself.

    I absolutely loved the original game, and had been looking forward to this game for a number of years, it exceeded my expectations in every way.

    Visually, the game is stunning. The mechanics are great and simple, and don't disrupt the flow of the gameplay, which is great considering the cinematic nature of the game.     The story was well written and well crafted. It was uncomfortable at times, and obviously, there was some bold decisions that I wish were different. But on the whole, it all flowed well, made sense, and didn't insult my intelligence.

    This is without a doubt, one of the absolute best games I have ever played, and worthy of any awards it can receive. It's a true masterpiece, and one I will enjoy playing through again.    … Expand

The last of us 2, a game that divided the gaming community into two camps, people who were not saturated with the atmosphere of the post-apocalypse, were not moved by the ingenious plot and interesting interactions of the characters. And others who have experienced all of the above on their own skin. What is the ending, because of which the game now has such bad ratings associated with the stupidity of players who cannot get out of their comfort zone and understand that this game is not a familiar story of revenge, but a deeper one. The players at the end thought that Ellie had to kill Abby in order to keep the concept that Ellie had followed throughout the game, but during the game, people like Ellie cannot understand that Ellie's main enemy is not Abby, but her resentment against herself, due to the fact that all the game was rejected by Joel, and when she lost him she could not apologize. This is a brilliant game that was with such a deep meaning that many people simply did not understand it.… Expand

He is a survivor and don’t trust anyone and then he go all in into a house full of armed strangers and say his name for who could wanna know... it just doesn’t fit easy. Tried to thing that he relaxed after living some years into a trustful town/society, that Ellie changed him and after the Firefly massacre he tried to change for her, bit it still seems forced. But even with this the game is almost perfect and the best one for ps4. Not by far the “zeros” that so many “gta generation” are putting here, bit they have the right. And I tgink, and gope, that there will (or at least would be before so many haters) a third part for the story, by the way that this one developed and finished, bit who knows.

    Great gameplay. Suberb graphics. About the story, at the beginning I found it frustrating, but after finishing the game I found it great.

    Think in it taking “Game of Thrones” perspective. No one is so important that could not die (in stupid ways sometimes) and the story goes on for another characters independent and without show it to us.

    I personally disliked the need to show Ellie has homossexual into the dlc at the first game (probably to creat polemic, not because she is homo, but cause she is the only immune being, and in a apocalyptic world it means no immune decendents), and it is cause the last midia histories are tending to show all strong and independent womans as homossexual, and this isn’t true. But they showed the relationship of the main in a good way.

    No confusing or unrealistic end for me, it was the enconter of two opposites: one going from a vengeance ravok that turned her into a monster and after fuffiling it started to think at the worngness of all that and being tired of the killing (Abby), thanks for the changes and deaths of her friends and being save by enemies morr than one time; other one finally finding a good life and than loosing it in a violent way, turning herself a monster, making her loose sleep, friends, love, home, until in the end she realize that fulfilling it would bring her nothing, abandoning her revange (even apparently it being to late for her to be happy). “They killed hundreds and regreat to kill their mostly hated ones, it has no sense”, but the other killing were for auto defense and to reach their objectives and were part of the “tiredness process”, showed in cutscenes, in game dialogues and changes into character appearance and in game disposition. Abby no killing Ellie is justified for all suffering and the conscience that she brings it for her and her friends and her change after being safe and saving her enemies and seeing the craziness of a war into a apocalyptic world at the Island.
    Ellie not killing Abby is justified cause her essence was good, the revenge make her loose friends, home and love, and at the last moment, into a game part that show her visibility tired and depressed, physically hurt, she sees the emptiness of it all.

    A controversial game that will not be for everyone, specially the ones that pay bo attention for all story, but for me a almost perfect game and the best one for PS4, a great closure for this console.    … Expand

This game is phenomenal - the tide of hate its recieved from far right bigots, people that can't overcome Joel's death or understand the game at anything beyond surface level is overwhelming. This game is a masterpiece, no piece of media has left me so emotionally wrecked, they orchestrated this perfectly. The symbolism and attention to detail invested into this story is amazing. It leaves you exploring concepts and characters for days, having you invested in storylines you thought you never could have been. The gameplay is also 10/10, the improvement in the enemy classes of the infected is just on a whole new level. Fighting human enemies is equally as fun as they introduce this sense of gritty realism into the play style. It's a 10/10 game, ignore negative reviews spewing incoherent **** about SJWs and Joel.… Expand

Para empezar la jugabilidad es increible, la protagonista me gusto conecte mas con ella en este juego y entedi sus motivaciones ya sean malas ya que la venganza es algo serio que no se toma a la ligera y creo que entendi el porque no lo hizo al final, el soundtrack estuvo adecuado en los momentos de tension, la historia en si tiene muchos fallos, creo que la alargaron mucho al momento de sentirse cansado pero puedes dejarlo de largo y pasarla increible. Reciente mente se armos la polemica de varios que odiaron el juego, quiero decir que sus argumentos son estupidos nada mas porque otros lo dicen lo que vale es tu opinion y mi opinion es que ,e gusto el juego, quisiera agradecer en persona a neil drunkman por haberlo hecho y lo mismo para naugthy dog, es un juego exelente con mucho valor y tambien para todos aquellos involucrados en el porque se que fue agotador hacerlo. El juego es un deleite y su polemica por su historia, si dejas de largo el tema planteado no pasara nada es de hecho un plus del juego para humanizar a los personajes, que sientas que en verdad sufren porque se eso se trata esta arte, de conectar con lo que estas viendo y last of us part 2 conecto mucho conmigo y espero que con muchos haya conectado. If you just read the story without experiencing the game, I can totally understand why you would be upset, but the game does a pretty good job at making you question Ellie's motivations, and showing the similarities between her and the "antagonist" of the game. Not a PERFECT job, but a respectable job, and despite having seen similar stories to this game in other media, it feels fresh and exciting to see a story like this told through a video game where we actually get to perform the acts of the characters.

    Overall, this game is a solid 7/10. The reason I gave it a 10 was to counter-balance all the 0 reviews from people that just read the leaks and didn't even play it.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hi there. Here are a few of my thoughts about The last of us 2. It's ok to not like a game. I love it, but that's just me. What is not ok, is to collectively review bomb something by calling it trash, when it is one of the best looking games to come out on ps4. This game is a work of art. It is beautiful and engaging. It is deeply polarizing, which is why the fanbase is so divided about it. Again, that's fine. The story is dark, bleak and deeply upsetting. It's a revenge tale. To have a revenge video game, we as the player, need something powerful enough to drive us to want to seek that vengeance. Thus, we come to the death of Joel, one of gaming's most beloved characters. People don't like that. I get it. Hell I don't like it. But it is a damn good way to motivate me to go an a murder rampage halfway across the country to bring his killers to task. Also to show the cycle of vengeance, they have to show us what led Abby to do the dastardly deed, and I am glad that we were put in her shoes to do that. I feel that we are not supposed to sympathize with her, but empathize. To see the path that made her a monster, and to draw parallels between her, and Joel from the first game. Let us remember after Joel lost his daughter, Joel became a murderous piece of **** too. He would cut thru any number of people to accomplish whatever he was doing at the time. This game is about Ellie going down that same path, but instead of finishing her task and killing her rival, she lets go and finds her humanity. Abby does the same. The game ends without a conclusion. The protagonist and antagonist are still alive. This is made this way to make us feel as empty inside, as Ellie does, now that she is alone with everyone she knew and loved either dead or gone. The message is a powerful one, whether or not you enjoy it. It definitely didn't make me feel good. The biggest reason I even did this review is because I saw the toxic gaming community condemning this game simply because they didn't like the story. That doesn't make it an objectively bad game, just one you might not like. Hands down this is one of the prettiest games I've ever played, and the combat is engaging and visceral. The constant collecting of junk got old at times, but whatever. That's not game breaking. I would honestly rate this an 8, but I'm rating it 10 to compensate for the undeserved user scores it's been getting. Also if your complaint about this game is that it includes a couple LGBTQ characters in it, **** you, bigot. You're a piece of **** and you may not know it, but everyone else does.… Expand

И при этом понимаешь , что хотели донести до нас авторы игр ,,, что за месть плата велика и Мы сами смогли прочувствовать в игре что антагонистом вселеной оказалось сама Элли , а Эбби как протагонистом , из-за этого было жаль обе сторон , но за концовку рад что Элли пожалела Эбби. From a technological standpoint, LoU2 is some of the most fluid and captivating gameplay from any game this generation, and the graphics are fantastic (although I'm not a fan of the film grain this game adds). From aThe Last of Us: Part 2 is a must play game. Naughty Dog has continued to improve their formula with each game they create, and are an elite company in the video game industry. From a technological standpoint, LoU2 is some of the most fluid and captivating gameplay from any game this generation, and the graphics are fantastic (although I'm not a fan of the film grain this game adds). From a story standpoint, I was completely invested the entire time. This game has many twists and turns in store, and while some are certainly controversial, Naughty Dog has crafted a unique, captivating story that is unforgettable. The game is long, and as a result has some points in the game that are much slower than others, but the climatic points of the game make the entire thing worth it. 9/10, I think cutting 3/4 hours off the game would have done it justice, but overall and amazing experience.… Expand

    A flawed but amazing game. The gameplay is great, and the art is fantastic from the graphics to the soundtrack. The story is good, but it also tries a much much bigger scope than the first game's story, so it's not as solid. But it does is job, it's compelling, and pays off. Play with an open mind.

Abby is a good character well written. Only weakness in her storyline is the fall with her gang that comes awkwardly. Joel did what he had to do in the first part. And a death is a death there is no way we could have done it better. He's been killed by naivety towards human he promised to despise after his daughter death. Now the game is not a 10 but a strong 8 and could be a 9 without the last chapter… Expand

    Do not listen to anyone, but rather play yourself. The game is definitely not as terrible as some haters write here. For me, this is a great game.

    Being objective, he condemned HUMANKIND because of his selfishness, I love Joel but he is a d*ck because of thisc I dont know id f I could be better than him, but still, he did terribly wrong and he paid for it.

    The game is amazing. Really ambitious, and even when it may have some flaws in its pacing and some gameplay mechanics, overall it's a masterpiece. It engages you and makes you feel so many emotions as few games have ever done. Its something you definitely must experience on your own, and let it fill you and immerse you in the story.

I don't think people realize this, so it has to be said: Joel is a piece of **** He's great, don't get me wrong, he's one of my favorite characters of all time! He's a very kind and likeable man just trying to do his best, but like my alcoholic father who disowned us he is incredibly flawed and his flaws literally damned the entire human race. Not only this, but he did kill Abby's father. Abby killed Ellie's surrogate father. It's a revenge story where the point of the story is that "the violence doesn't end until the first party forgives." Playing as Abby serves to accentuate this theme by humanizing her as a sympathetic villain. I've also seen people say that the way Ellie acts makes no sense, but she's always been an incredibly angry character. She was filled with rage in the first one, and Joel taught her to be kind, but he betrayed her so it makes a lot of sense that she would fall back into her darkness. Both characters are equally right for taking revenge, unfortunately neither are completely right for it. Someone needed to forgive, and both learned that by the end of the story. The plot points are great, the character development is fantastic, the improved gameplay is orgasmic, and y'all just don't know how to behave because you're salty about storytelling elements you don't understand.… Expand

    This might be the best game I’ve ever played. If not the best, it is AT LEAST in my top 3. I honestly couldn’t care less about people who have cried about LGBT storylines or how they didn’t like the character’s paths. This is a freakin’ masterpiece and nothing anyone says could possibly change my mind.

I saw some glitches here ande there, but certainly updates will fix them, what does not impact the game play. About the history: I am not sure if I would do differently. Violence brings violence, there is no other way. And at the end, Ellie had this perception. When playing as Abby, you can feel on her skin the pain and the spirit of vengeance. I just finished this game, I understand why people were mad and didn’t like the game but honestly, I feel like a lot of people missed the point of the game. SPOILER ALERT: at first when Joel died, I was angry. I didn’t understand why they had to kill off such a big character so early in the game. I felt as if the game was lack lustre and they ran out of ideas. However, as the game went on I began to understand exactly why they did it, and everything that happens following that fits together so perfectly and tells and amazing story of why Joel was killed and gave a great story of Abby and Ellie’s pasts. I understand people also had a lot of issues with playing as Abby. But I feel like playing as her was so important to the story, it showers that Abby wasn’t actually a bad person, although you want to hate her so much for what she did. Abby and Levs relationship parallels amazingly with Joel and Ellie’s relationship, albeit not on as deep of a level. It shows us how people can do horrible things yet still not actually be that evil. We saw the same with Joel in the first game. In the first game Joel talks about his past, how he used to be a hunter and kill random people for no reason just for supplies. He also killed off a huge number of fireflies but at the end of it was caring for a small girl, which made us fall in love with his character and everything about him. Although Abby isn’t as likeable as Joel, I saw the same with her and Lev. It showed us all about the consequences of our actions and how everything has a domino effect in the world. Joel trying to save Ellie, ultimately led to his doom when he killed Abbys dad. Same thing when Abby killed Joel, it ultimately led to the demise of everyone she cared about. I feel like people really need to give this game a chance. They need to get past the fact that Joel died and have an open mind about this game. This game is very different to the first one which is why I think people are dismissing it so much, but it has all of the great story telling, depth and emotion that we love from naughty dog games. It was definitely a risk but I feel like they did an amazing job putting this game together. The story is enticing, although sort of slow and points. The gameplay is phenomenal and tense, the enemies and AI in these games are the best I’ve ever seen in any game I’ve played. The reaction time of the clickers, the enemies, everything is *chefs kiss*. I love this game so much I’m finding it difficult to choose which is my favourite out of the first game and the second one. Overall, 1000% worth the play, if you can keep an open mind about the story and just let it take you away, then you will love it.… Expand

It's not the story most of the players imagined, but you can't blame the writers for doing something that does not align with your imagination. For me it worked perfectly. I see many people saying that Joel would never have trusted Abby in the first place, but you must take into consideration that he has gotten cozy in Jackson for the last 4 years. He saw a young girl in danger and he helped her. Ellie has changed him. Joel's death is the perfect drive for the story. It is still horrible, but the story in The last of us was never a happy one. To expect them to live happily ever after is not realistic. Joel has done awful things in those 25 years. And in the end he faces the consequences. When the writers decided to make you play as Abby for half of the game, they knew the players will be angry at first. That's the point. But you get to see things from her perspective. Nothing is black and white. By the end of the second half of the game i sympathized with Abby. I didn't really wan't her dead at the end. The characters and story were well written.
    As for the gameplay, it was amazing. The action is very satisfying. Every mechanic, well thought out. Sound design, voice acting, animation - all perfect.
    In the end the leaks managed to turn the fans against the game without offering almost any context for the things that happen. It's a shame that many won't even try the game and instead will continue to take in all the negative reviews from the internet. It is something you have to experience yourself.

I was sceptical at the start of the second half of the game, when I started playing as Abby. I was like - "no way, I am not playing as this woman she is the enemy!!!" And then yes, I started to understand she has made choices and is human and is no more a villain than Ellie is. They are both as bad as each other. It did brake my heart that Ellie left Dina to chase down revenge again. I hated it. That's what makes it so good. I almost cried. It was perfect. Beautiful and painful. To all the negative reviewers - it's literally a game about the apocalypse. Of course it's miserable. And as to people going on about LGBT stuff - it's not shoved in your face. They barely even talk about it. It's just normal. Gays and trans are everywhere and have been for as long as humans have been alive. Stop being angry just cos your straight white guy isn't the hero for once… Expand

    So for me and the rest of the world, this game had big shoes to fill. And despite all controversies I'm going to put it out there that for me, this game met the criteria. It's an ambitious project in terms of scope and storytelling, one which is painful to review without spoilers but I will try my best for the people of the internet but only because you guys are paying me by being on my website.

    Let's start of with everything else and then we'll get to the story. As to be expected from any PlayStation exclusive, this game looks absolutely gorgeous. One of those games where it just looks better than real life. We learnt from the original last of us that Naughty Dog pushes the boundaries of a console towards the end of it's life cycle and my PS4s fan was in overdrive. Facial animations in this game are the realest they've ever been. Every expression on a face is detailed and purposely put collaborating with this game's scarily detailed sound design and heart pumping score to create sprinkle on top of the already detailed gameplay. The first thing I noticed about this gameplay is it's much scarier. And I'm not talking jumpscares I'm talking edge of your seat drop your controller intensity which as a survival horror fan I loved. This gameplay would be perfect and is at times when it flows beautifully and you feel powerful and brutal, heavily improving on the first game but as helpful as AI partners are they frequently got in my way. Once I threw a brick to trigger a trap and the AI just walked in front of it and the brick hit her head. She just stood there smiling. As funny as this occurrence is it breaks immersion. I mentioned this game was brutal but that's an understatement. The violence is disgusting and real and everything about it begs you to play it with headphones. I am a bit of a violence fan to the point it's concerning but we can all agree the detail they put into the sound of digging a knife into a throat and pulling it out to hear blood spurt out so realistically it even made me retch sometimes. The violence grounds the gameplay of this game to an entire new level.

    The story is the most ambitious part of this game and the genius of it is it can only work in the format of a video game. I can't say anything to spoil but what I saw in this game I've never seen in another piece of fiction. My only grievance is for some new characters, you're not left emotionally invested with their stories being criminally boring but this part of the story is needed, still being a negative.

    This game gets a 8/10. I don't get what the internet was mad about with this one.    … Expand

Gameplay is very much the same as the first game, with a few more added extras but it is noticeably the Last of us gameplay. Naughty Dog finds a way to build an amazing diverse and inclusive cast of characters with mesmerizing landscapes that never feel copy/paste of other areas, while providing seamless transitions and combat, making you feel like you're living the experience. This story is gut wrenching all the way through and at times doesn't feel "fun." But what it does feel like is human experience, full of trauma, complicated emotions and decisions that leave you on edge, because this world is so unforgiving. It doesn't care about who you love, because your closest ally is someone's enemy and karma makes the final choice.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wow. This game is absolutely, positively incredible. It has the same vibes as the first one. It is brutal, it is gut wrenching, it is stressful, it is kind of miserable, and it is heart-warming. The graphics are absolutely stunning and the game-play is so much fun. The voice acting and character writing is absolutely incredible. I adore the diversity and LGBTQ representation in it as well - LGBTQ people exist and are not a political statement; we deserve mainstream stories like this, even if it is a brutal post-apocalyptic gore and revenge throwdown. Overall I liked the story, despite minor plot holes and some loose ends. My biggest complaint about the story is the ending; SPOILER ALERT! I believe the tail end of it set in California was highly unnecessary and felt unfinished. I wish the theatre battle between Ellie and Abby was the final battle - Ellie could have had the same realization in the basement that she had on the beach. I am glad that Ellie, Abby, Dina, Tommy, and Lev all lived in the end and wish it ended with Ellie and Dina being happy on the farm and Abby and Lev going off to start new lives together. I would give it a 10/10 if the ending wasn't what it was. Overall, it was a great ride and I loved it. Thank you, Team NaughtyDog! (Also, thank you for not killing any of the LGBTQ characters - that trope is overdone and I was so worried the whole time one of them would die.)… Expand

    Definitely enjoyed the 1st game more and that'is why my rate is 9.
    Other than the non-sense extended ending (additional 2 hours gameplay for no reason) and a little bit of linear game play, this game is one of kind.
    It tries to remind the audience a fact from real life: People might die and also not everyone is necessarily a villain. People could confront each other while they are both    Definitely enjoyed the 1st game more and that'is why my rate is 9.

    Don't get me wrong, I cried my ass off for 15 mins when I saw that big scene, but I guess I decided to enjoy this masterpiece and listen to it's message as apposed to blaming it for not being EXACTLY the same as the 1st game.
    It does take quite some balls to be the best PS exclusive game ever and yet take the risk hoping the audience would get it right !    … Expand

Beautiful game perfect in almost all aspects, the problem everyone had with this game is the expectation on the story being better than Part 1, which probably will not happen in a long while because it's so good, the journey of Ellie into darkness and becoming the villain of sorts and then the journey of Abby after meeting Lev is great, most people who rated this game under 5 because of the story are not being objective and mostly taking over mass histeria without probably putting to much time to the game, this game has better story and characters than Assassin's Creed Origins and Horizon put together, and the same people giving less than 5 to this game gave around 8 to these 2 games, so there's clearly resentment to either LGTB content which doesn't affect the storyline, or can't get pass a good story just because their favorite character gets killed… Expand

    Pretty damn good. The hate is way overblown. Next level graphics, acting, gameplay. And a gut wrenching story that, by design, will infuriate you and force you to empathize with characters you’re originally meant to hate, and make you cringe at terrible things done by characters you love. But they are both driven by awesome characters and dialogue which I think more than makes up for It. My main gripes: it could be shorter, I’m not a fan of meticulously looking for collectibles, and pills and parts kinda fly in the face of realism. With this, the skill trees and weapon upgrades seem arbitrary and outdated (I’d prefer they make weapon upgrades awards from puzzles or harder enemies, and new skills unlocked depending on how you play to progress)… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
