    Una secuela inolvidable la cual se basa en las consecuencias de los hechos ocurridos en The last of us. Por una parte una Ellie mucho mas madura y adulta a comparacion de la primera entrega, y por otro lado nos encontramos con un personaje nuevo llamado abby la cual es la hija del doctor el cual mato Joel en el primer juego y quiere venganza contra Joel. Luego de sucesos traumaticos paraUna secuela inolvidable la cual se basa en las consecuencias de los hechos ocurridos en The last of us. Por una parte una Ellie mucho mas madura y adulta a comparacion de la primera entrega, y por otro lado nos encontramos con un personaje nuevo llamado abby la cual es la hija del doctor el cual mato Joel en el primer juego y quiere venganza contra Joel. Luego de sucesos traumaticos para Ellie en los cuales Abby mata a Joel de una manera muy cruda y desgarradora, Ellie busca venganza contra Abby y los suyos, dispuesta a matar a quien se le cruze en su camino de vengar a Joel.

    El juego tiene una jugabilidad MUY DESTACABLE y transiciones de juego a escena increibles. Escenas que transmiten muchas emociones gracias a su guion y la maravillosa musica compuesta por Gustavo Santaolalla. Su historia...la tan polemica historia, en mi opinion tiene una historia muy tragica e iriente para la mayoria de los fans, la muerte tan temprana de Joel debido a Abby produce enojo, rabia y motivacion para ayudar a Ellie en su camino de vengar a Joel, matando a Abby. Debido a la primera entrega, la gente pudo conectar con Ellie y Joel y logicamente apoyan a Ellie antes que Abby, es cual es un personaje jugable que no termina de conectar y el jugador tampoco termina de identificarse con la misma. La historia es muy buena, solo que tiene un final muy reflexivo el cual no deja satisfechos a los fans ya que se esperaban que Ellie realmente mate a Abby y en lugar de eso, la deja huir. Personalmente no creo que sea un mal final, es buen final, solo que esta opacado por como es narrado, es decir, Ellie mata cientos de personas para llegar hasta Abby y una vez que la encuentra decide dejarla ir. Esto no resulta muy logico

    В целом мне игра понравилась, но я бы внес в игру 1 изменение. В конце игры я бы убил Эбби, этим самым разработчики показали бы что месть делает тебя другим человеком.

    Плюсы: в игре серая мораль, удобный геймплей и в целом играть нравиться. Геймплей: 9/10 (Под конец сюжета бывает такое что надоедает стрелять) Сюжет 7/10 (Пару моментов нелогичны) Графика 10/10 (Самая лучшая графика    В целом мне игра понравилась, но я бы внес в игру 1 изменение. I went through this journey without watching any spoilers, and I've to say it was an emotional story with a lots of feelings, the narrative was spectacular and character development it simply destroys every other game, this game is a real cinematographic masterpiece. This game is about how this revenge takes everything away from you, and how humanity is! but the message is that sometimes the right decision is the most painful like leaving abby alive at the end or the decision that Joel took bring him joy from some amount of time, the decision abby took, it destroy her life and she became as Joel was.     Just finish the game! I heard a lot bad news about this game before I bought it. But I think the story, game-play and graphic is truly amazing. I can understand some people don't like story because it's dramatic and intense. But this can't deny it's still an awesome game. I hope people don't mislead by the score and really experience it by yourself.

    Not what I was expecting in terms of story but Naughty Dog managed to pull this brutal story to a conclusion that made sense for each and every character. They gameplay is the same as the The Last of Us but with improvements such as jumping over gaps and going into prone to hide in short grass or crawl under vehicles. Visually, the game is stunning and that is a fact.     Despite the largely negative reception this game has gathered I was very impressed. While it may not be as fantastic as its predecessor it certainly is a great way to cap the ps4. From what I was able to gather many of the negative reviews stem from peoples distate for some of the more controversial elements of the game. But as a whole I enjoyed the hell out of tlou2

    Beautiful game. Gave me the closure I needed for the story from the first one. It was amazing to see the story in so many points of view. VERY heavy on story and light on gameplay would be my only complaint. It was fantastic though. Seeing a story that didnt involve me battle royaling or competing was a breath of fresh air. Thank you Naughty Dog for your contribution!

    i genuinely don’t understand why people don’t like this game, while i do think there could’ve been more character development throughout the story that’s my only complaint. it seems like people are just finding reasons to hate the game.

    It makes me laugh that people hate this game because of Joel's death and the other story feed, time to move on, and not hope for a happy ending.
    The graphics are perfect, the gameplay is perfect, enough Easter eggs, interesting character, it's all there in this game, the plot of course, for an Amateur,but it's still a MASTERPIECE.

    The game is great . It has a great story , eaual to its predecessor . Gameplay is as usual . Graphics are really nice and that goes for the extras . The only flaw is Ellie's movement which is slopy at least , something unacceptable for a game of this quality . Bold move to take a stand for the LGB community ,. Don t love it but it doesn't affect how i feel about the game .

    This is the BEST game ever. The graphics, the story and the gameplay are fantastic. You learn to like the characters you should hate and you understand both sides. This is more than just a game, It's a lesson about empathy and hate. Absolutely amazing!!

    The Last of Us Part 2 is a very divisive game. You either hate it for all the pain and anguish it causes you especially at the beginning of the game, or you love it for the experience and the rollercoaster of emotions that this game puts you through.     One must also mention the visuals and audio of this game which are phenomenal. Truly a testament of what the PS4 can do when given to a studio that believes in the smaller details.

    I must say that I do not feel its a 9 or a 10 for a couple of reasons:
    - Some of the characters needed to be more fleshed out in my opinion
    - At times I was almost going to stop playing because of specific paths the story and gameplay took, but my resilience did pay off, and the message at the end did get through, and I am grateful for it.    … Expand

    Naughty Dog took some bold decisions with Part 2, and it certainly paid off. Brutal game play, great characters made possible by phenomenal acting and a story that makes you really question your actions all leads to a truly once in a generation game. This game is certainly worth at least a try, and if you're willing to open yourself up to other perspectives then I have no doubt you'll enjoy this.

    A great game from start to finish. The story goes along with the first game. Takes the harsh world and builds upon it amazingly. The story takes an unexpected turn in the beginning, this shocked me but kept me in the harsh world naughty dog have created making the story better because of it. The last of us is a special game to me and part 2 builds of that creating something well worth checking out

Joel was cool and all, but his actions had to have repercussions. The world of tlou is MEANT to be realistic. It's meant to be brutal, and that was established in the first game. It's not GTA where you can go around commiting genocide and theres no consequence

    People didnt cry and boycott the studio when they're favorite character died in the walking dead or when ned stark died in game of thrones. That's just the world they're trying to portray, and the artful story they mean to tell

    Enjoy tlou 2 for what it is, and what the developer intended. It's not a fan-service-y merry-go-round .Tlou 2 is different, and it's great.    … Expand

    Eu achei que a parte da Abby no começo tinha estragado o jogo, porem eu joguei até o final e o final vale muito a pena. A parte da Abby no começo e bem chata porem com o passar do tempo fica boa tipo no dia 2 até o dia 3 fica bom

The last of us part 2 si que fue polémico y solo por no ser muy complaciente con el fans, es una joya como videojuego y les explico el porque, es por lo técnico que se destaca Nauthy Dog y en eso implica ésto: En gameplay, escenarios, sonido, el cuidado al detalle y el de los combates, la brutalidad en modo de batalla, en explotar al máximo que puede tener una consola como la PS4 (Aunque le falta cosas por pulir tuve algunos Bugs y bajadas de Frames, pero seguramente fue por explotar al máximo al PS4) en cuestión de cosas técnicas es una jodida joya. El problema real recae en la historia, cuando Naughty Dog hace un Uncharted 4 dónde si disonancia Ludonarrativa es bastante evidente (la incoherencia de como actúa y lo que hace para no sonar mamador xd) una historia como The last of us te sabe hasta saber mal a la mente, el mayor problema que veo es que no es complaciente para sus fans, no es uncharted 4 dónde te deja un final complaciente y todo perfecto, este tipo de historia desafía al ti mismo y a tu persona si es que no estás acostumbrado a este tipo de historias dónde hablan del conjunto y no solamente del personaje sino lo que construye el por ello de todo lo que fue y existe dentro del universo del juego, y haber una disonancia con el público del juego pasado y sobre las personas que proyectan de lo era realmenteel mundo de The last of us y lo que realmente quiso explicar y contar Neil Druckman. Ellos siempre trataron de mostrar el reflejo humano con las consecuencias midiante las circunstancias bastante extremas de un mundo casi acabado, lo salvaje que seríamos por sobrevivir y que no importe que lado estés, no existe un lugar correcto ni persona buena o mala del todo, solamente las circunstancias y sobrevivir es lo que nos hace las personas que somos.
    Y sobre todo el mensaje más importante de la historia es: La venganza solo te destruye poco a poco por dentro y hasta de lo que más no quisieras    … Expand

So much attention to detail has gone into every room someone has lived and died in, or how leaks and flooding have transformed the world. Enemies will scream out the names of their fallen friends, call out where they last saw you, and search dynamically around you. The story of revenge couples with the increased gore to provide a very visceral and unnerving gameplay experience. Getting to the story, the actors completely sell it. Every performance is filled with a nuance that you'd expect from film, which were able to come through with the amazing animations that accentuate the emotions in the voices.

    Now to the plot that is so controversial. It's dark, depressing, and sometimes very unsatisfying. There were times I actively did not want to participate in what Naughty Dog were forcing me to do, but because of that it was intensely powerful. The narrative is extremely different from the first, and while some may say it is disrespectful, it feels like a natural resolution of the first, instead of just a retread. While at first rolling the credits I felt a deep hollowness which was not how I finished the first, upon reflecting I realized that the game had taken its time and resolved what happened at the end of the first. Overall, this game is one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had in a video game, which is also how the original made me feel. Even though it was in a much darker way, this game was a tremendous success at showing the potential of the medium.    … Expand

The thing I didn't like about this story was the pacing where I felt it was a bit messy especially on Abby's side, too dragging and boring for most of the time. Gameplay, combat, graphics and musics are really good and I have no complaints at all.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is visually interesting at is says. The game play mechanic is superb compared to the previous chapter, it has definitely evolved. However, the story is pure SJW propaganda and I don't understand why they have to implement this belief into an apocalyptic theme. I paid 90 AUD just to witness a man I adored since the previous game, die in an unnecessary death caused by an unknown stranger. The Last of Us franchise is a story about the progression between Ellie and Joel, and that was the reason why I was a die-hard for the Last of Us series. The flashbacks were the only good scene where I wholeheartedly enjoyed. Regarding back to the spoilers, I never saw the leaks nor I heard about it. I blindly played through the first 2 hours and see that one of my beloved character has died. That made me become frustrated for the entire sequence. If we paid attention to the details, Joel would never ever show his real name to anyone. He lived throughout his life for 20 years not trusting anyone before he could meet Ellie. The story about Abby felt forced, killing Joel so early in the game was extremely lazy directing. It would make no difference as during the last chapter of the first game, Fireflies has announced that there are several immune people and none of them were been able to create a cure. Killing Ellie might not able to find a cure, and Joel literally has one thing to live for, the existence of Ellie after losing Sarah in the first game. The world took everything from Joel, so he took everything from the world. One of the key things of paying so much attention in the previous game is that, you will notice so many major flaws that the director just ignored. It is like, after 7 years of waiting, they have entirely forgotten about the entire story of the first game. I finished playing the Last of Us 2 and I have to say, Neil Duckman literally just massacred the franchise.

    The reason why this rating is 10/10 is because I would like to send a message for the people who blindly rated Tlou2 as a good review. After reading numerous reviews regarding about the game-plays, not one has spoken about how the story was written. It makes me believe that they haven't even played the first game yet, and none of them has recognize the father and daughter relationship that made the game a masterpiece in the first place. If only Joel died protecting his only child in the end, then again I might like this game. But no, they went the opposite way. As a supporter of the LGBT community, how the story was written out is unnecessary, and in fact. I would rate this game 3/10 for stunning visual appearance.    … Expand

    This game is really amazing. I don't know why it gets so much hate. This game is touching and beautiful. I wouldn't call it a sequel though. It's a separate story in a world of the first game. But still it is really worth playing.

    If someone has an open mind to story telling they would not be disappointed playing this game. It forces you to think about characters you love in harsh ways while learning what drives their enemies. It makes you wonder who the good and bad really are, if anyone is any of those. The gameplay is improved from the first but not drastically changed. It flowed a lot better and gives you more options for taking down enemies. The environment is fun to explore and to take in along the way. Through I’m looking forward to speedruns lol. At 28hrs for a first play through I think a person can easily get their’s money worth here. It’s pretty much a movie as well. Great cutscenes and lots of them. In regards to anyone hating on the story: get over it. Cant wait for Part 3, thank you ND for stepping outside the box on this one. -35… Expand

    não achei que jogar com a abby foi uma boa ideia, acho q no início foi sim (pois ela não havia matado o joel ainda) mas depois achei péssimo, eu tinha interesse 0 em saber a história dessa menina.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is absolutely the best video game I have ever played in my entire life. There is not even a close second. The only other game to be like it is the first. I judge this game as more than a simple video game, as I did the first one. I judge this overall as an engine for telling a fictional tale. They say you cannot judge a person until you walk in their shoes, and this game makes you walk, even in shoes you may not have wanted to. But even the original game did something to me that no other fictional outlet has ever done, it made me care about a fictional character more than I ever had in my entire life. Part of of that was the amazing story, the voice acting, graphics...the entire package was so realistic coupled again with the fact that it is a video game. You play as the characters you walk in their shoes.

    Now on to the bad reviews. I spent some time reading through them, and it seems to me that so, SO many of them are written by people who did not play the game. I read specific gripes about story line or character flaws etc. They said oh the game did not do this or did not do that. I ask...did you play the game...because so many of the complaints I saw, the game absolutely went into. I heard so many people specifically bash the story...it was a masterpiece...

    Spoilers: I understand why the first portion of the game made people mad. I understand that Joel's death was a very hard thing to experience. I myself had serious cognitive dissonance...he can't be dead. A big part of this was the previews that clearly lied. But that just added to my shock, and made it so much more powerful. Without going into every small detail of the story, even though I could, because every piece was amazing, but I will focus on the flashbacks with her and Joel. These flashbacks were masterful and changed the scale of the story each time they revealed one.

    First they show Ellie and Joel as we knew them. That birthday scene definitely got to me after Joel was already dead. Then we see them out on patrol in another. People had asked did Ellie believe Joel at the end of the first game? Did she just pretend? I think this shows both. She loved Joel and wanted to trust him, but we see the weight of it on her. Then moving forward she goes and discovers the truth. This changes the story because now we see maybe there is regret on Ellie's part or guilt because she breaks from Joel. We see later this is even further when Joel stands up to the bigot. Ellie tells hi to piss off essentially. This is such an important scene. Ellie's motivations to the audience changes with each flashback. First their original relationship, we can see why Ellie wants revenge. But now their relationship is strained. The last night before Joel dies we see the pain on his face when Ellie tells him to go away. We see her face, she fell something to. She sees how much she just hurt Joel and we see her face show some hurt as a result. For the audience this changes her motivations completely....her carrying around this guilt that the last conversation she had with Joel was telling him to piss off. This changes her motivation, it is subtle but key. I will save the last flashback for the end.

    First I have to jump into Abby. I understand some hate for her, I get it. I loved Joel too, she killed him very violently. But going through her story...as much as I hate to say it, I started to like her. People saying in complaints they could not relate to her or hated her, or that she was a sociopath? I just don't get it. We all agree that one of the things that made the original game so good was the ending. There was clear ambiguity there. Everyone agrees that what Joel did might not be right...but we see the one person, personally affected by it the most and people do not get her side? We follow Ellie's journey of revenge, but Abby has been festering those same emotions much longer than Ellie. There are many more details I can go into about Abby. I saw a full article defending her I agree with, but I will just skip to the end. of the game. The bottom line though, she really is not that bad of a person, she saved Ellie twice, even after Ellie killed all of her friends.

    I saw so many people mad that Ellie did not kill Abby. As she id drowning Abby we see a flash of Joel playing a guitar. This does not make sense at first. Why would Ellie let her go. Then AFTER this we see the full context of the scene, which again changes everything in a subtle but very important way for Ellie. This scene is the keystone for the entire story in my opinion. We see that the very last conversation she had with Joel was about forgiveness. She tells Joel she does not know if she can forgive him but she wants to try. THAT is the exact memory she had when she decided to spare Abby. This is why this scene does make so much sense and why it was masterful writing.

    Overall just an amazing game that grabs you emotionally and never lets go!    … Expand

Don't say this **** up because of the main theme of the game - anger. Bam. bam. bam. - this is not anger, this is idiocy. Sorry.

A lot of people are disillusioned by the fact that it's not what they wished it was. Trying to empathize with some of the characters is necessary. It's necessary to try and empathize in a meta-way because we play as Ellie, who at the end, learns to empathize with and forgive Joel. She says "I'd like to try [to forgive Joel]" and the same is being done for Abby.

    There are legitimate criticisms of the game. The pacing is all over the place, and the marketing is misleading. There is also the criticism that Joel let his guard down. All those things make this a very flawed game like any other. There were plot armor examples in the first game too (a little girl like Ellie with no combat experience being able to fend off tens of hunters and protect Joel when he is wounded at the university, for one). But just like the first game, which had a more airtight plot overall, I think it's important to enjoy the game for what it IS despite its flaws. The gameplay is imperfect in both the first and second game (with the jump button being clunky).

    However, a game like TLOU part II elevates telling bold stories with emotion and trying to make a player feel emotions like never before to a new level. Although it's flawed, the sheer experience this game provides should be experienced by every Ps4 owner    … Expand

    I started playing game not knowing what to expect. I did all I can to avoid the spoilers beforehand (successfully). I really liked the game, the story was hard hitting and makes you question your morals and what's right.. Its brutal and gruesome but has its moments of lightness and calmness. When I started the second half of the game I didn't think I would like it but by the end II started playing game not knowing what to expect. Aí começa uma jornada maravilhosa com a Ellie com vários momentos marcantes e matando muitos dos que faltavam para sua vingança, faltando basicamente a então vilã do jogo, Abby, porém ela que acaba encontrando Ellie e até então ela iria mata-lá, nesse momento que o jogo faz uma coisa única e que me surpreende completamente, ele nos faz jogar com a Abby e mostra o seu lado na história, me deixando puto de início por que eu a odiava mas já no início de sua gameplay já nos mostra o por que de seu ódio ao Joel, Abby era filha do cirurgião que Joel matou, já fazendo a gente gostar mais da personagem, e no desenrolar da trama nós já estamos gostando muito da Abby e não querendo que ela morra e voltamos a parte que ela iria matar a Ellie e deixa ela viver entendendo que a vingança não iria resolver nada e a perdoando, Ellie acaba se estabilizando com Dina e vivendo normal mas não deixa a vingança de lado e parte para voltar e tentar acabar com Abby fazendo um final impactante e maravilhoso. Right out the bat, they kill off a main character whom we've know and grew to love over the past 7 years. Brutally murdered in front of Ellie the game sets out to be a revenge story. As the player progresses through the story, thoughts and opinions change. The three days in Seattle are thrilling, horrifying, and emotional. Just as Ellie is making her rounds on the people who killed Joel, the player feels a satisfaction. But I saw this monster Ellie was becoming, and so did she. After killing Abby's close friends and former lover, the game resets and you play as Abby. It was an interesting way to approach the villain, as the player creates bonds with Abby and all of her friends you know Ellie will kill later on. Just when I thought it was over, it went on a bit longer. Although I can see why some may not like the ending, I was satisfied. The games main theme for me was forgiveness. Ellie struggles with this not only for Abby but also with Joel. Going through a lot of pain, Ellie changed as a person and changed for the better.

    Gameplay was outstanding. The amount of times I'd be in shock over the brutality of the gameplay was common. Enemies would cry out for their friends after seeing their head blown off. Even killing a dog had an emotional impact. The level design and world it takes place in were beautiful. Lots of exploration to do and many interesting things to witness. Many ways to approach enemies gave a sense of strategy and depth to the gameplay.

    And what did you do with such a masterpiece? You **** demolished and wrecked it, because it is politically correct (see a doctor please), because there isn't Joel as active character (are you 12 y/o?) and history didn't flow as you expected (are you 12 y/o and do you need to see a doctor?), because it has narrative inconsistencies (see a doctor #3) and, most of all, because it's a trend to insult it (i don't speak because i would get in big trouble).
    Next time you'll be about crying for another game series ruined by carbon-copies releasing, first think about what you did with this masterpiece, then shut your mouth.    … Expand

I think Ellie and Abby's side of the story is great bringing humanization to Abby, and "justice" for Ellie.     Edit: Coming back to this game now that I've platinumed it, I think that it is even better than when I originally played it! The Combat is fun and **** brutal enough to make you think you are in a life or death gun fight. The Story is really well written and executed, and you could make the excuse that the pacing is what makes this game bad, but the pacing and plot of this game is supposed to be messy. It is a revenge narrative coming from two sides of the same coin, of course the plot is gonna be all over the place that's the whole point! The Music in this game is BEYOND PERFECTION. There is music for the combat which makes you even more intense, and music for the emotional story-beats which on its own tells a whole story by itself. The Characters are extremely well written and I think that it's genius! The AI is also so **** advanced, I think this is the best AI I've had in a game. The Companions are genuinely helpful when you're in fights, the enemy AI is really advanced and fun! The zombie AI is a bit dumb but again zombies are dumb so y'know. Overall playing this game more and more just makes me love it so much more! In my opinion, this is the closest video-games will get to perfection! I'm excited to see what else Naughty Dog releases next, and I'm giving this game my first ever 10/10.    … Expand

    Musím uznat ta hra je úžasná grafika, příběh,hudba atd. Je toho dost pozitivního jediná věc mi tam chyběla ale jen maličkost využívání repráčku u dualshocku jak to bylo v The Last of Us 1 remastered. Ale to nemění nic že tam je X dalších věcí který tam přidali úžasná příběhová hra a dobrý pokračování tě to hry chválím

    Considera que si vas a comprar este juego, estás comprando una historia, historia que está perfectamente escrita de principio a fin, personajes memorables, escenarios impecables y muy bien construidos.

    Sin embargo, son 2 Los aspectos que en mi opinión no le dieron el 10 a mi puntuación jaja

    1. Un punto algo contradictorio pero destacable. El juego no ofrece nada nuevo. Las mecánicas y el sistema de juego es exactamente el mismo, sin embargo eso me deja pensando en lo bien construidas y pensadas que estaban las mecánicas desde el primer juego que, de cualquier forma... Tras varias horas de juego, se convierte un poco tedioso y pesado seguir jugando. Pero como ya lo mencioné antes, en lo que estás gastando tu dinero es en una historia.

    2. Un grave error de narrativa y la que considero la única crítica válida de los usuarios; la muerte de Joel. Que fue tan simple y poco digna, hizo que se opacara el transcurso de la historia, haciéndome cuestionar a lo largo del juego, "¿Cómo es que eso no pudo haber pasado antes?".

    Cómo sea, está es una obra impecable que no merece el odio de los usuarios, usuarios ingenuos que priorizan cosas que no se relacionan con el juego. De cualquier forma yo seguiré esperando ansiosamente TLoU3.    … Expand

    I absolutely love the last of us 2, it's my favorite game. The post apocalyptic world, the action, the brutality, the emotions, the unraveling story and character development it's all just perfect. If you like a movie type game, beautiful graphics and animations, with incredibly satisfying gameplay in a violent world... This is the game for you.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. me encanta este juego, con una historia muy arriesgada teniendo sus defectos como matar a joel tan rapido pero fuera de es te muestra que el juego esta lleno de vida hasta en los npc enemigos tienen nombre y la verdad usar a abby fue al principio horrible pero luego no me disgusto pero tampoco la queria y cuando llegas con ellie yo no queria que ninguna de las 2 muera, me gusto que ellie la perdonara porque ella ya se estaba volviendo loca dejando a su familia solo para matarla

    This game is clearly a Masterpiece, one of the best I have ever played. It's such a complex game that I understand all the retards/incel who hated it, because they didn't understand the story. Bravo naughty dog for this game, and thank you for shharing it with us !

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly I absolutely adored the first game, probably one of my top games ever. So this game already had huge shoes to fill, which probably worked against it in the reviews as the bar was set extremely high. Is this game as good as the first game? I would have to say no. But it stands on its own as a very good game, up there with the best of this generation. I will say that the open world aspects of the game were massively overhyped as you only encounter one area where this occurs early on in the game. This was probably the most enjoyable area and I would have liked more of this. Otherwise you have levels which are fairly linear. I also feel combat was fairly overhyped as it is not vastly different than the first game and is not much of an evolution. Combat however is still fun, a bit more variety in combat and openness in levels would have made this game even better. Ultimately the game is about mans darker nature and how it corrupts everything around it. This game is especially concerned with exploring the idea of moral grey areas and humanizing ones enemies. In real life there are no cartoonish villains, each person has their own rationalizations and motivations and naughty dog wanted to highlight this aspect of human nature. Naughty dog wanted to take you on a journey from hating someone to being able to understand someone. Reflecting all of this internal struggle is the different external factions at war with one another, pushed to the brink of survival. The game is concerned with asking the broader questions about human nature and what choices we will make in regards to one another. Will we choose to continue on a path of hatred, violence and revenge even though it destroys our lives - or are we going to rise above those decisions? Spoiler part - Having loved the first game so much it was definitely hard to lose Joel so quickly, however I feel it was a natural progression and consequence from the last game. It is easy to justify the killing of cannibals or one dimensional villains, but that is not reflective of actual human nature or reality and doesn't provoke any deeper reflection regarding our actions. This game is able to take us on an emotional journey a lot of games do not and judging by its polarizing reception, its clear that it was successful at provoking the emotions it intended. Anyone who would give this game zero to one stars is not being reasonable by any stretch of the imagination.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
