    Naughty Dog una vez más me ha vuelto a dejar maravillado con esta obra maestra, juegazo de principio a fin, una jugabilidad maravillosa un apartado gráfico increíble, una historia que no me ha decepcionado nada y un montón de emociones encontradas la espera lo ha valido!!

    This game is a true masterpiece. Every new character added in the story is just as well-crafted as the ones that appeared in the previous installment, and I found myself immerged with much interest on their own personalities and choices. Abby and Ellie are so much alike..., that it is a little bit sad to realize that given different circumstances they could have been great friends. I haveThis game is a true masterpiece.     Incredible game I took more than 2h plays I liked the way in which elli executes the attacks on her enemies the story is very captivating and excellent what most excited me has made the warm relationship that ellie has with very beautiful dyna 10/10

    Gameplay is top notch. If you liked the first game, it's similar with lots of improvements on movement, melee combat and AI.

    Graphics are of course gorgeous. Worth playing just to explore all the environments.

    Sound, had to add. Probably best sound mixing I've heard in a game, it's so good. Play with good headphones.    … Expand

If everything went 100% perfect and there was no hardships this game wouldn’t be post apocalyptic. A pandemic isn’t going to have happily ever Afters. This game is beautiful and is a rollercoaster ride. I hope there is a part 3 I highly recommendThis game is great. She carries with her a lot of pain in this version of the game thus the emotional detachment from killing. The sound is pretty amazing bringing back the classic and still creepy clickers.     The hate on top of this game is basically because the fanboys filled their asses with expectation because of a trailer thinking that the game would be according to their imagination, Naughty Dog came up with an original script, and now they don't have a game anymore with Marvel movie script.

    This game is amazing. It's definitely one of the greatest single player games I've ever played. I'm not sure why they're are a lot of reviews giving it really low ratings and talking about it being political or having an agenda. The gameplay is better and the story is absolutely amazing. Lo mejor en gráficos de ps4, una jugabilidad increíble, una historia dura, cruel, triste, pero buenísima, en lo único que puedo criticar del juego es que este nos obligaba a golpear con abby a ellie y pues eso dolía porque ellie es nuestro personaje principal y al que queremos, dolía cada golpe que le dábamos con abby ya que esta casi la mata . Y en cuanto al final, lo encontré muy bueno pero no me lo esperaba, aprendimos una lección importante gracias a joel aprendimos que no hay que hacer que la venganza nos consuma, si es verdad matamos a todos los amigos de abby pero nos arrepentimos, y así finamente ellie encuentra a la paz que necesitaba. La escena final me dejó con mucha intriga, fue muy duro, revelador, triste, pero me da mas ganas para jugar una próxima entrega. 100% recomendado de jugar… Expand

A nivel narrativo no llega a ser tan redondo como la primera entrega, la típica historia de venganza en el mundo de The Last Of Us, sin embargo creo que saben conducir la historia perfectamente y generar los momentos de tensión en todo momento. Creo que ha faltado un poco el efecto sorpresa, sin embargo eso no influye negativamente. A nivel jugable es una maravilla, parte de la base del primer juego y retoca y perfecciona el control de los personajes sin perder la esencia anterior. Las expresiones faciales y lo humanos que se sienten todos (enemigos incluidos) le da un realismo casi nunca visto dentro de la industria. Naughty Dog ha conseguido que algo tan típico dentro de un videojuego como es matar, se convierta en algo completamente desagradable y difícil de hacer. Es cierto que el juego es inclusivo, y sinceramente no me ha acabado de cuajar lo de Lev, pero en general es un juego excelente, y no merece críticas negativas por la politizacion.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Naughty Dog does it once again. The Last of Us: Part II is an amazing video game that is just as good as the last one. Within the first hour of gameplay there is a big surprise death that is not really all that surprising yet at the same time gut wrenching. Because of this death you go on an Adventure with Ellie and her partner Dina. To search for Abby in Seattle and get revenge for the death! Along the way you see tons of highs and falls not just with Ellie and Dina, but with Joel and Ellie, Jessie and Tommy! And even the backstory of Abby herself! These new characters are beautifully written and feel very natural and realistic. Every moment with them I felt like I believed in every relationship. What makes this game different than the last is you also play as Abby. This you learn why Abby did what she did. And why she has her quest for vengeance as well. This leads to you feeling confused on whether you support Abby or Ellie. In the end I felt both had respectable reasons as to there lust for revenge. Not only do you see Abby and why she wants revenge but you also get to play her in Seattle as well. And the two biggest character developments are from Ellie and Abby. Abby starts off a blind follower of the WLF’s who only wants revenge for her fathers death. However after being saved by a couple Scars she realizes this fight is not hers and decides something new is in place. So she decides to try finding the fireflies again. She goes from being a tough soldier seeking revenge. To a tough friend who no longer seeks violence. Ellie is on a complete opposite path in which she starts out sad and depressed about Joel lying to her about the fireflies. Then being mad and angry that she didn’t get the chance to give him a proper “I forgive you” and so she thinks getting revenge for his death will be a good forgiveness. However she realizes Joel wouldn’t want this a little to late because of the path she chose she lost everything she had, Love, Family, and a home.

    The only downside I saw from my 25 hours of playtime. Towards the middle of the storyline it does get boring and feels repetitive of the first two days, however that boredom is quick because once again you are thrust into a new story line and crazy punches to the face! Overall I give this game a 9/10. The great graphics, along with the great Story, and the Character Development. One thing for sure this game is definitely one of the best story mode games by far!


    (P.S. don’t listen to the reviews bashing the fact that Ellie is gay. This game does a great job of not forcing the fact that she is gay down your throat like some shows on TV do. Instead Naughty dog does a great job of making Ellie and her relationship feel like a real genuine relationship and person! Very natural and amazing!)    … Expand

    Such a masterpiece! This is the game i have waited for. The Story is very special and i can understand why so many people dislike the game. But this is what Naughty Dog is. Naughty Dog is full of surprises... Part 2 is the perfect example. To those who haven't played it yet: don't let others guide you and play it yourself. Worth it

    You will forget that you are playing a video game. The story is so engaging, the characters are so real, it makes for the most immersive experience I have ever enjoyed with a videogame. Naughty dog has raised the bar with this one to an unprecedented level. I can only praise and applaud the effort that was put in to make this game. A true masterpiece, thank you Naughty Dog.

    The Last of Us Part 2 completed. What can I say about this wonderful game ?! I can only applaud Naughty Dog for his impeccable work, what a fantastic story, a mixture of sensations and feelings you feel while playing is indescribable!

    We feel anger and hatred together with Ellie and we understand the reason for her revenge and you also end up having this feeling of revenge, but in each chapter you feel that she ends up being consumed by this revenge and you no longer see the pain and problems it brings to the around you! On the other hand, it's the same thing, especially when you see the other side of the story and, in the end, you realize that all the revenge brought suffering to everyone, but it also frees everyone, I myself was anguished for not wanting to see revenge and hoping the most sensible end.
    It is indescribable what you feel when you play, for me it is an incredible story and I can only praise Naughty Dog for taking the risk and bringing this incredible game to us, it just showed how The Last of Us is my favorite game and certainly this one it's the best game of the year, this generation and my favorite game!

    And really, many people were not prepared for this masterpiece, it is very incredible for certain people, simple!

    I hope Naughty Dog continues to make such brilliant games, it just shows how the company is undoubtedly one of the best and the care it takes with its games!    … Expand

    At first i was mad, not because the game was bad or something. I was mad because it hurts me and made me feel things i never felt before... And yes i played it 2 times just to make sure that i was feeling that stuff.. and man this game is heavy and so powerful.     First I'd like to preface that I really don't understand the hate this game is getting, I honestly think that if Joel were the main character and NOTHING else about the game were changed then people would be giving this game the credit it deserves.

    This is one of the best tellings of a revenge plot I've ever experienced, truly a breath of fresh air for a type of story that often only ends up being a cliched justification for brutal power fantasy without having to feel any guilt. The story reminds me in some ways of Spec Ops: The Line (an underrated gem btw) in the sense that it reminds you constantly that even though violence can feel cathartic and justified in the moment it often only leads to worse and worse outcomes, creating a cycle of violence that festers and destroys a person until/unless they're willing to break that cycle by learning to let go.

    Ellie's journey begins as what feels like a justified tale of revenge in a morally grey world. Those who have played the first game grew to love Joel, to understand that he, like virtually everyone else in this world, is a product of his environment. A person shaped by loss, tragedy, violence and desperation, someone who had lost all hope years ago but over the course of the story managed to regain it thanks to the genuine human connection and paternal instincts he felt with Ellie, and she him. For the first time in a long time Joel had something to fight for that actually mattered, something righteous in an unrighteous world. Joel's tale, while brutal, feels just, he's protecting a child. As this games story unravels you realise that this story is not just and that Ellie is actually the bad guy.

    Abby's revenge, while still wrong as it involves the killing of a human being is justifiable in that Joel killed her father, Ellie's subsequent quest isn't, as it involves the killing of dozens of people uninvolved with Joel's murder as well as the friends of Abby. You may say, fairly so, "but Joel was basically Ellie's dad?" and you'd be right, but context matters. Abby killed Joel because he killed her father, the only man capable of creating a cure. He may have had to kill Ellie to achieve that but Ellie makes it clear that she would've been okay with that. Ellie is the "bad guy" of this story, the closest thing to a villain.

    You may say "but at least Abby got her revenge, Ellie didn't", this is true but it came at the cost of everyone she cared about. It came at the cost of Nora, Manny, Owen, Alice, Mel and Mel's unborn child. Then they both got a second chance, Abby with Lev and Ellie with Dina and JJ. Abby chose to let go, to not pursue Ellie even though she now had just as much reason for revenge against her as she did with Joel, but the events of Seattle brought her to the understanding that violence only begets violence, that, to quote Arthur Morgan "Vengeance is a fools game", so she moves on. Ellie does not. This is why at the end of the game she is seemingly left with nothing, even unable to play the guitar, one of the few things that gave her a connection to Joel because she lost two of her fingers in the final confrontation with Abby, something that would've never happened if she took the chance to move on as Abby did. She did this to herself.


    Last but not least, how's the gameplay? If you played the first one you'll already feel right at home here. But just because the mechanics haven't changed enough to be unrecognisable that doesn't mean they haven't evolved in meaningful ways. The addition of being able to prone, hand-made silencers, canine enemies that can track your scent and honestly pretty clever AI make for an amazing synthesis of survival horror and stealth unlike anything I've played before. Seriously if you're a fan of stealth games and are still trying to find something to satisfy your craving, thanks to the stealth game drought since the end of MGS and Splinter Cell, then I couldn't recommend this game enough, you won't regret it.

    My only real criticism of the game is that the prologue is a really slow burn, and this is the kind of game that lends itself to multiple playthroughs with a new game plus mode, so that can be a bit of a slog. It'd be nice for Naughty Dog to add in a feature in the future to skip to Seattle at the beginning of a new game plus playthrough.

    I'm a bit confused about all the complaints over the game being supposedly political simply for including literally three LGBT characters. Hate to break it to you but LGBT people have always existed, proof goes as far back as antiquity, so there is no reason to believe they wouldn't exist in a post-apocalyptic world either.its only political if you force it to be political.

    Overall fantastic game, well worth the price of admission. I'd recommend it to anyone that loves games with a heavy focus on story, as well as to anyone that is particularly a fan of survival horror or stealth games.

    Those complaints are the epitome of “I didn’t get what I wanted.” And that is fine. It sucks to be disappointed.

    But that does not make something “bad.” This game is simply fantastic. The world-design is beautiful and the environments are detailed and varied. The voice acting is alarmingly naturalistic and the writing is realistic and relatable. The story is compelling and the characters are incredibly engaging. The gameplay is fluid; during combat, the enemies respond to your choices organically and realistically.

    This is a game that Naughty Dog clearly put a LOT of effort into. And I’m sorry it you “didn’t get what you wanted.” But.

    Firstly, if you are frustrated with the direction Naughty Dog has taken story-wise in this game. You must understand or remember the nature of the world Joel and Ellie live in. I just finished the first game for the third time right before part II dropped, I'd recommend doing the same before jumping in.

    So, Society and Civilization as we know them, are far gone. About 25 years gone. And the result, is anarchy, constant fear, struggle and the survival of the fittest. Joel's change was very clearly displayed during the first game, a carpenter, mutated into a ruthless killer, smuggler. In other words, the perfect product of a shattered world. Still tormented by the loss of his daughter, Sarah.

    Thus, violence begets violence, could be the motto of this world. 'An eye for an eye', 'Live by the sword, Die by the sword', and so on. Imagine how such a cruel world impacts the loss of a loved one, within a tight-knit group, trying to hang onto some speck of normality still left, all the while, survival is an ever present concern. In such a world there would be no such thing as 'Let bygones be bygones.'. So, if you're annoyed about how things turned out, I don't blame you, but so it's the way of that world.

    By what I've witnessed within my first two hours of gameplay, Abby's vengeance wasn't immoral, even though the execution of it was ruthless, yet she did not go on a murdering spree to reach her target. And it's mentioned through the game, as why she did it in that particular way.

    So, in conclusion the story in The Last of Us Part II, doesn't seem senseless, nor is it devoid of any logic. It's just a bit more complex compared with the story from the first game, which was very simple yet beautifully written and executed, with the main focus on Joel and Ellie and their journey across
    America. While in the sequel it's more about the destination. There are new characters, which, yes, lack the sweet character development we were used from the first game. And that alone, might frustrate several people.

    From the number of comments and negative reviews I read, most mention the lack of quality in the game's story. Plot holes, and character's like Joel and Ellie acting odd. Especially Joel during his encounter with Abby, as in 'Why would he trust her, the real Joel doesn't trust people.', What ? You cannot find an explanation by yourself ? Do you want a game that gives you the resolve to every aspect of it's story ? EXAMPLE: Did RDR2 explain why Dutch left Arthur to die ? No ! Why he kept avoiding the plain truth ? When everything around him pointed to the gang's demise, and perhaps his own...

    Let me ask you something...Do you want a game or movie for that matter, that explains it's own narrative ? I do not. And I don't think you want one either. So ! Why did Joel acted as he did ? He simply let his guard down. And by the time he realized in what sort of situation he got himself in, it was too late. I mean, for the last 5 years he lived within a community of people not set on screwing each other, that helped and perhaps welcomed strangers in their community. Thus, in Joel's instance, if you can explain it, it isn't a plot hole nor abnormal behavior. But simply factors that most fail to consider.

    If you take your time and really think on how else would the first game's repercussions get to affect Joel, and in turn, Ellie, one would come up with several outcomes. And somewhere among those, one will eventually come up with something along the lines of 'Actions have consequences...'.

    So, is it trash ? As some others have mentioned in their reviews, I do not think so...
    Perhaps those people expected something more cheerful, yet uncharacteristic, I would add.

So since Metacritic doesn't have any way to confirm if you own the game i am assuming that at the very least half of the people who wrote this didnt even play the game.

    Conclusion: Dont trust user reviews on Metacritic    I made an account to see what is the process of writing user reviews is. Because I was surprised that there were 4999 reviews literally the minute the game launched. So since Metacritic doesn't have any way to confirm if you own the game i am assuming that at the very least half of the people who wrote this didnt even play the game.

    This game has amazing graphics, great story telling, great acting, suspense and I always tell how good a game is when it gives me goosebumps and this game did it on several occasions. I have been honest and given it a 9 as the controls are pretty much exactly the same as before so a bit of variance would have been nice.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
