    This game takes risks that very few games have taken before. While the story will not hit home for some people, when it does, it is amazing. One of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.

    I liked the game for its atmosphere, story, and characters. It was interesting to watch the parallel progression of stories from two points of the narrative. One branch of the story followed the path of revenge, carrying the character down, and the other the other way up. Lively emotions, lively characters. Great cutscenes. I recommend it to everyone.

    This game is simply a masterpiece! A little bit too long maybe but I understand why the developers did that. Deserved Game of the Year! If you own a PS4 then play this. But make sure you have played the first game before, else you won't have the same emotional impact.

That sucks, but i think a lot of people say that the game is bad just because of joel’s death. Like, they dont even want to look at the goodies in this game. I may be wrong, im not a professional reviewer or anything. But yeah, this is my opinion. I think it really deserve GOTY. Remember the leak? That a lot of people got spoiled from? Yeah, i remembered that, I also got spoiled at that time. To me, the story is better in Tlou1 but the combat is better in Tlou2. Thats all form me, soryy if my english was bad. Он показал обе стороны ( когда будете играть поймёте). И моя рекомендация не играйте в The Last Of Us Part 2, пока не пройдёте первую часть The Last Of Us с дополнением Left Behind, только так вы окунётесь в игру.     Hru jsem dohrál na ps4pro za 23 hodin. Zážitek kterej si hodlám v budoucnu zopakovat.
    Hratelnost - celý úvod mi trvalo než jsem si ja osobně zvuk na ovládání, ale to je strašně individuální. Jinak po zbytek hry paráda. 10/10

    The game itself is also incredible. The game-play is very satisfying, and every mechanic just works smoothly. Everything is super polished, and it just downright feels good and satisfying to play. And don't even get me started with the graphics. It has the best graphics I've ever seen in any video game, and I played it on the base PS4 (and no, my console didn't sound like a jet while playing).

    The accessibility options are just the best in the industry right now. You can customize pretty much most of the aspects of the game, so you can play the way it feels best for you. You can even change the difficulty of each aspect of the game individually.

    The music is breathtaking, and I don't even have words to describe how good the acting was. Every performance was amazing.

    Just give the game a shot. I legitimately don't understand how so many people hated it.

    Did you expect it to beat the first??? You can't! Over all is it a great game? Yes, yes it is. Game play, graphics and story. The story is not AS good as the last of us 1... as expected. But it is still a great game especially if you liked the last of us 1! IT IS WORTH THE PLAY!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finished the story last night, and I see some of these bad reviews. It is almost like we didn’t play the same game.

    The Last of Us Part 2 captures human faces and emotion like nothing else I have played. The feeling of survival and fighting for your life was insane in the first game, and with this one Naughty Dog cranked it up as far as they could go. Do you remember the scene in 28 Days Later when Jim is running around and desperately fighting the soldiers? That is what the combat feels like, it is intense, savage and probably the most visceral I have ever experienced in a game. No joke- every character has a name, even the dogs- this gives real weight to the violence and makes everything feel more personal.

    One thing I felt about the first game was that there was a lot of fighting against people and less against infected. This one gets the balance perfectly, and the creature designs are horrifying in the best possible way. The fight against the repulsive Rat King in the hospital basement is a boss battle for the ages.

    The exploration and level designs are so detailed and well put together. You can spend hours taking everything in while you search for supplies. Make sure you search everywhere because you might find something that will save you when you next get into a fight. Not only that, but the exploration gives you a chance to further absorb this amazingly detailed and realised world. The graphics are outstanding.

    In a world where we are getting constant re-hashes of female characters from the past- lets give this evil character a sympathetic backstory! The Last of Us 2 gives us two incredible female leads in the form of Ellie and Abby. These are characters who fit perfectly within the morally grey confines of this game world. So many people are going on about how this game is pushing a political agenda- that is ridiculous, and I bet you that these are the guys who always use Ripley from Alien as their only example of a good female character. Okay, maybe they will mention Sarah Connor in the same breath. The reality is that the two lead performances are awards worthy, and the characters are deep and complex- everyone has their reasons and there is empathy for both sides. You will find yourself emotionally invested like you would a great film, and the goosebumps on your arm will reflect that.

    Some people lost their minds over Joel in this game and it makes me wonder- do they remember the first game? He changed the future of humanity to satiate his ego. He didn’t tell Ellie what he did, and he lied to her because he knew that he had made the wrong choice. The way he dies is in keeping with the world and the character. The Last of Us isn’t heroic gunfights and honour. No, he was ambushed and bashed in. It is grim, horrible, and totally in keeping with the feel of this world. He had it coming. He had done so many awful things and changed the fate of the entire world for the worse. Joel’s final decision at the end of the last game was unforgivable, and he knew it. People say that Joel has changed, and he is not the same guy from the first game- he kept the secret for years. He softened a little because he was looking for redemption. He never got it, and he did not deserve it.

    The sequel explores the consequences of Joel’s choice, the lie, and its impact on his relationship with Ellie. Which in turn makes Abby’s storyline gripping. Abby makes for a compelling playable character, her life had been changed by Joel’s actions and she handled revenge just like Joel would have. In this way, they are similar people who will do anything for those they love.

    Finally- if you still have any trepidation with getting this game, ask yourself one very important question: am I going to listen to these people, many of which have suspect reasons for hating it- or am I going to listen to almost every reputable reviewer (look at reviews from proper gaming magazines, most of them are golden) there is? You are only doing yourself a disservice by not playing it.    … Expand

    I look at all negative ratings, and realize that people don’t understand the philosophy of this game. Come on it is very good story. Yes, I didn’t like Joel’s dead, but only this gives us this kind of emotions. “There is no vaccine”

    This game is the next step in video game story telling. No other game has invited the player to think about the meaing of its story like this one did. Its not a flawless game but its in my eyes a masterpiece.

    After reading and watching different reviews I thought the game is not worth buying. I got mine on the winter sale. And I don't regret it.
    Technically the game is awesome. Graphics and gameplay are astonishing. Plot is good, but controversial. It makes you think a lot about revenge, human nature, good and bad.

    This game was a profound experiance, equal parts aggravating and traumatizing. I really don't understand people's disappointment, experiancing a story is not always about getting the fuzzy, touchy feely positive buzz. Not every story has a happy ending, and not every story needs one.

    I held off after all the negative press and avoided playing.

    That was a mistake. This is the best built, most polished game I have ever played. It is my new favourite game of all time, overtaking god of war and GTA5

    I can't write too much about the game without spoilers. In any case, it shows that there is not always good and evil, but that everything is a matter of perspective. Every single second of the game feels carefully thought out to me and the story offers so much depth. An emotional, immersive gaming experience that I will never forget.

    Мне первая часть неосоьо понравилась (на мете 6 поставлю, когда обзор и на нее напишу), поэтому к сиквелу я относился к скепсису, особенно на фоне всех недовольных воплей. Сейчас я перепрохожу игру на реализме, и это моя любимая игра. Плюсы: 1. Сюжет. Да, тут много спорных решений. Да, тут есть сложно обьяснимые (но обьяснимые все же!) моменты.     1. Сюжет. Да, тут много спорных решений. Да, тут есть сложно обьяснимые (но обьяснимые все же!) моменты. Но это творческое видение автора, и в целом я остался более чем довольным, и произвела на меня игра сильное впечталение и даже чему-то научила.

    2. Геймплей. Он прокачался относительно 1 части, но ощущается иначе засчет эффектов и анимаций. Проходил игру на высокой сложности (в 1 раз) и было прям супер интересно, в отличии от приквела, где я мог просто засыпать. Прокачка оружия и персонажа умеренная, анимации - великолепные, не менее.

    3. Графика. Лучшая графика в играх на данный момент, однозначно, и максимально реалистичная.

    4. Дизайн локаций. Выполнено все красиво и стильно, отлично передает сеттинг (что тоже плюс, обожаю зеленые постапоки) и понятно, куда идти.

    Минусы:

    1. Транс-персонаж. Я ко многому спорному в плане леволиберальных идей отношусь нормально, но что в постапокалипсисе делает транс - я не пойму.

    2. Дисбаланс сложности. Что в 1 части, что во 2, играть на уровне сложности ниже среднего-высокого играть скучно.

    Итог. Игра, за исключением пары незначительных моментов прекрасна, и я очень надеюсь, что 3 часть будет на этой же, а то и планкой выше.    … Expand

I think the game got review bombed heavily since Joel dies right of the bat and after that no one gave it a chance including me but know I’ve played the game I can still see flaws but overall I really like the last of us 2. I think the whole playing the villain aka Abby was something good that you don’t see in other games and when I started playing as her I still hated her but when characters like lev come into play it makes you like Abby and actually give a **** about her which leaves you so torn when it gets to the fight between Ellie and Abby you don’t want anyone to die but you understand they have to and when Abby spares Ellie it just makes her more human and shows how Ellie has become a bad Pearson due to revenge. Also one of the most powerful scenes is when Tommy comes to the house to try and guilt Ellie into tracking abby which just leaves you feeling sorry for him because of how what’s happens to him has ruined him physically and emotionally. I also think the ending of the game really does drive home this idea of revenge isn’t good which seems abit expected tbh but the fact Ellie is left unable to play the guitar Joel gave her is so powerful because it shows that everything wasn’t worth it because not only is everyone destroyed by what happens know what she was keeping Joel’s memory alive with can’t be done and it just leaves you emotional. So yeah the last of us 2 is a good game and is definitely worth giving a chance(sorry this is abit of a wonky review it’s my first attempt of writing one)… Expand

The settings of the game are not only visually stunning but work perfectly with the story they are supposed to be a part of, it truly locks you in a makes you feel as if you are actually there. The story is one that brings all the emotions into play throughout it, joy, humour, rage, sadness, etc. While it is not a story that everyone appreciates due to their own opinions if you are able to appreciate great storytelling and set aside what path you had envisioned the story to take then you will truly love the story of this game the same way that I and so many others have.
    Overall for me, the perfect game with no complaints about it. I laughed, I cried, I sat and admired the beautiful world that I had been put into. The music choices for this game are so fitting and really just ties everything together with certain songs recurring at different points in the story but with different tones to them.    … Expand

    Worth waiting, and I love how the game has a very realistic storyline even though it is not satisfied people's expectations. Well that is simply life, you get back what you give other people a.k.a. KARMA.

There is also the aspect that the Last of Us Part 2 defies AAA narrative rules and kills a beloved character in the first few hours, in bad taste. It is my belief that the disgusting departing of the best character is exactly the point. It did exactly what it was supposed to. It caused outrage. That rage towards the death of Joel is exactly what is supposed to spur on the tale of revenge that the game follows with Ellie, and makes it extremely difficult to sympathize with the person that caused this feeling in us. Of course I don't think this game is perfect. There are certainly flaws, but it is also certainly not deserving of a 1/10.… Expand

    Things change and that's life and in the grand scheme of the story there is nothing wrong with the way characters are removed from the story.

Because if you compare the mechanics of this game to the previous game they have improved. Joel is not the same character as the first game which can happen with people once they settle done. He cares about Ellie. And also Abby is a great character and I feel most men who hate on this game are just mad about the fact she exists. Joel killed Abby’s father leading her to want to get revenge like every other character. Sorry this game had LGBTQ+ elements making you uncomfortable. I mean I’m pretty sure the first game had some as well. The ending was nice because she realized how much of a monster she had become. Going from a little girl who loves comics and music to someone who just left it all behind. Growing into who she is now.     Enjoyed this gane slightly more than the first part. Even through all the hate the game has got i bough and enjoyed it at its fullest. Great story, scenes, characters, gameplay... simply everything. The game is a must play if you have played the first part.

    The pinnacle of story telling. I’ve never had a game hit so hard emotionally and really made me put my controller down and think about what happened. It took me a full week before I could really process how I felt about the game. To keep it short this game is one of the greatest feats of storytelling and immersion in a game and it will stand as one of the best stories of all time.

Es imposible criticar bien a The last of us parte II sin tocar de manera directa su historia, pero no voy a hablar de ella detalladamente, solo voy a hablar sobre cosas que suelen ser más criticadas para bien o para mal: su inicio (argumento), personajes y final.
    Empezando por el principio puedo asegurar que a Joel le dieron una muerte usual incluso tal vez normal en el universo de TLOU mostrando que por muy importante que sea una persona para vos, puede irse en cualquier momento sin importar cómo haya sido su pasado o si se lo merecía o no. Joel Miller no era un buen hombre y todos lo sabemos, incluso fue lo que lo volvió popular en algún momento y eso es algo que definiría el final de la vida del personaje en esta entrega. Para nosotros fue un protagonista exelente o incluso para algunos hasta pudo haber resultado una figura paterna como aquel usuario que al ver la muerte del personaje, rompió su copia del juego. Eso era él para nosotros pero para Abby, Joel no era más que un maldito asesino contrabandista que mató a su padre, un hombre bueno que solamente buscaba el bien común no de un grupo de personas, si no de la humanidad. Lo raro sería que si matan a un familiar tuyo no busques venganza y más en el contexto de esta historia.
    Joel y Tommy revelando sus nombres como si nada es lo más estúpido que ví en un universo de zombies o en este caso infectados. Joel pudo haber cambiado durante estos 5 años en Jackson, pero incluso la noche del brote él se niega a llevar a una familia en la que había un niño solo por sospechar.
    Fuera de esto creo que Abby es un personaje realista pero más importante, humano y buena protagonista e incluso si alguno de los que están leyendo esto estuvieran en el lugar de Abby hubieran tomado las mismas o similares decisiones sin conocer a Joel.
    Sobre los personajes puedo decir que la mayoría están bien escritos. Digo la mayoría y no todos por qué hay excepciones Como por ejemplo Isaac, personaje que se nos estuvo presentando a lo largo del juego a través de notas en la que se nos explicaba que era el líder de los lobos y que había asesinado a muchos scars directa e indirectamente por lo que se dejaba en claro que era un personaje importante... para que más adelante muera a manos (o a mano) de una chica con UN solo brazo que estaba en el suelo muriendo. Simplemente un personaje desaprovechado.
    Mucha gente crítica el final de esta obra argumentando que Ellie quería asesinar a Abby y que asesinó a cientos de hombres y mujeres para luego dejar viva a su supuesto objetivo. Por esto muchos que dicen que es estupido por todas las personas que mató en el camino hasta ella, y discrepo de su opinión. Ellie estaba cegada por el odio del momento (les recuerdo que solo pasaron unos días) pero tras estar con Dina y JJ unos meses en la granja intentó dejar atrás a Abby pero no lo consiguió del todo y el detonante fue el regreso de Tommy que le dio el empujón para ir tras ella aunque esté cansada de tanta muerte. Si realmente hubiera querido matarla hubiera llevado a Dina de regreso a Jackson y sin haberse recuperado, volver a buscar a Abby pero no era así.

    Como conclusión puedo decir que el juego es muy bueno, jugablemente se siente genial, las expresiones faciales son exelentes y como nota final le doy un 9.
    Por último, si formas parte de ese grupo de personas a las que el juego no les gustó los respeto, cada uno tiene su opinión, pero si decís que el juego es una m*****, estás equivocado.
    Y sobre esas personas que dicen que se trata de una propaganda política que maltrata a los hombres: mueren Jesse, muere Owen, muere Manny y muere Joel, a Tommy lo hieren pero no lo matan, 4 hombres con peso narrativo mueren. Mientras que mujeres matan a Nora y matan a Mel, 2 mujeres con peso narrativo mueren (también están todos los lobos y Scar que matas en el camino). Siguiendo la lógica de estas personas que argumentan que si mueren muchos hombres el juego odia a los hombres, Gokú y Solid Snake deben de ser los mayores feminazis de la historia de los videojuegos teniendo en cuenta que matan a una mujer importante por cada 10 hombres importantes que mueren.
    En fin, un muy buen jugo mucho mejor a nivel técnico que tristemente tiene sus errores narrativos.    … Expand

(Spoiler for first half of the last of us part 1 skip the next paragraph to the next) In the first game tess had died and even though she was in the game for a short amoujt of time her death was still very sad because of the good pacing. There was no flashbacks to stop you from bonding with Tess or unnecessary information thrown at the player. The gameplay and ui brings some needed upgrades and changes. The stealth is more fun and has improved a lot in different ways like the addition of silencers and the addition of going prone in grass. The fighting has gotten better with the addition of more weapons, upgrades in the skill tree that make hand to hand combat more exciting and the addition of dodging. The weapon combat is more exciting and fast with a much bigger and special arsenal with new weapons and more ways to approach situations you get into. This is a fantastic game with great gameplay but is brought down by its questionable story placement. I have no problem with the character deaths just the way that some characters aren't able to shine and be likeable due to being what seems like a after thought in the game. The game has a lot of replay ability and will never leave you bored. I rate it a 8 out of 10, it would be a 9 but the story is a huge part of the game and sadly isn't able to make you like characters.… Expand

    Man, what an emotional experience that was! As a huge fan of TLOU P1 which stays in my top list as #1, I consider P2 to be a perfect sequel which tops its predecessor in pretty much every aspect. Wish I didn't get all the spoilers though, but    Finished the game yesterday. Mostly because of that sh*tstorm surrounding it on its release, I've decided to give it a chance only this late.

    Man, what an emotional experience that was! As a huge fan of TLOU P1 which stays in my top list as #1, I consider P2 to be a perfect sequel which tops its predecessor in pretty much every aspect. Wish I didn't get all the spoilers though, but even knowing some major plot turns, this game hit me like no other game did in years. And that epilogue...

    While the story is something controversial, and you should be prepared for it, the other aspects such as gameplay, level design, annimations and so on were undoubtedly top-notch.

    The soundtrack worth to be mentioned explicitly. Mr. Santaolalla and his co-authors did that thing again and did it better. Unbroken and Allowed To Be Happy are tearing my heart apart at this very moment.

    My recommendation would be to go play it now if you didn't already. It is something else

The gameplay was great (much as it was in the TLOU Remastered), and there were some fairly new additions to the game such as guard dogs and archers that made both fighting and stealth a bit more difficult. Similarly, while mostly an unnoticeable change to most of the community, I really enjoyed the HUD changes to the game and the new animations when picking up collectibles and interacting with the workbenches.

    Next up in my review is the important aspect... the story. For my experience, I must say that the story definitely had its ups and downs. There were some aspects of the story that I did greatly enjoy such as untangling Abby and Owen's relationship, and walking through Ellie's journey through avenging Joel and her internal conflict on seeking vengeance as a whole; however, I definitely found a decent amount of cons with the story as I personally found it frustrating to see Abby get saved out of so many near-death experiences that would pretty obviously have killed pretty much any other person (aside from Ellie). Her encounter with the Rat King, defying Isaac/WLF, and escaping being captured and hung by the Seraphites are all examples of scenarios where realistically anyone else would meet their end, yet Abby somehow prevails each time. Additionally, while on the subject of Abby, I must also say that I couldn't really enjoy the experience of playing as her. I know her encounters with Lev and Yara are meant to give her a more empathetic side, yet I simply found it impossible to have any care or feeling whatsoever to the character, making it even more difficult to have to play as her in the theatre fight against Ellie.

    Overall, I can say that I had a fun time playing this game and recommend those who have played the first part that may be hesitant to try this installment to give it a go.    … Expand

    Personally the most addictive game series I have ever played. Above all, the part 2 story touched me on several emotional levels that no other game has succeeded with... Definitely 10/10!

    I played the first and second one back to back and knowing most of the major plots but that didn't take away from the experience for me. I wont lie I thought the first game was good but I did have very low expectations for the second, to my surprise it smashed those expectations out of the park though with phenomenal graphics and game play which no other game compares to.     TLOUP2 is one of the best games I've ever played.Incredible graphics, great gameplay and a good story, that's the last of us!The Last of Us Part II is no simple sequel. It is a fully realized vision of the world players were introduced to in 2013. Evolved gameplay not only asks players to be more tactical, it taxes them emotionally. But it is also a loving send off of beloved, grounded characters.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. hace mucho tiempo escribí una critica no tan solida pero ahora que el juego tiene su tiempo y que pude entender el significado de este juego (hay que decir que cada uno le da su propio significado al juego) voy a dividir esta critica en tres puntos.
    historia, gráficos y personajes.

    empezamos por los gráficos, visualmente el juego es increíble los mejores gráficos que e visto en un ps4 el detalle que tiene este juego es impresionante el entorno esta muy bien echo los lugares de exploración que vimos con ellie son muy buenos y están muy bien echos.

    personajes: cada personaje tiene su historia detrás y entendiendo su historia podemos entender sus acciones, como la razón por la cual abby mato a joel o por la que ellie se queria vengar, el punto es que los personajes están muy bien desarrollados y se nota que cada uno va evolucionando mediante avanza la historia.

    (el punto de la historia es como un resumen)

    historia: la historia tiene un significado muy profundo, en el principio muere joel mucha gente se enojo por el final tan crudo que le dieron a este personaje y no entienden su muerte un personaje que en la primera entrega fue totalmente deshumanizado desconfiaba de todo el mundo y mataba a mucha gente en la segunda entrega nos presentaron a un joel mas humanizado el cual no desconfiaba de todo el mundo pude ser que jackson lo allá humanizado. despues de la muerte de joel ellie junto a dina decidieron ir a seattle en busca de abby en resumen se vengan de algunos miembros involucrados en la muerte de joel, en todo este camino pasan muchas cosas como el embarazo de dina, el rescate de jessie, etc ellie llega al acuario donde se suponía que estaba escondida abby pero no encontró a abby sino que a dos amigos de abby ellie sin pensarlo mata a los dos pero después de su cruel asesinato se da cuenta que una amiga de abby estaba embarazada al notar esto ellie se pone a llorar en eso llega tommy y jessi.
    después vuelven al teatro y llega el "clímax" de el juego donde llega abby a vengarse por la muerte de sus amigos en el proceso muere jessi y hay un corte en ese momento empezamos a ver el punto de vista de abby y el echo de porque mato a joel y el juego nos hace empalizar con abby y con los personajes que la rodean.

    concisión: el juego es visualmente hermoso, los personajes están muy bien desatollados y la historia es una montaña rusa de emociones, Naughty Dog no le tiene miedo al fracaso y quiso innovar y no darle en el gusto a los fans, el director y todo el equipo detras de the las of us 2 no queria hacer la tipica historia de venganza donde el "héroe" siempre gana, ellos querian que vieramos los dos puntos de vista y que pude que a nuestro ojos seamos los heroes pero para otras personas somos los villanos como joel para nosotros es un heroe que salvo a ellie pero en verdad el mato a mucha gente como el padre de abby un simple medico que quería la cura para el cordisep joel en verdad es un villano que actuó por egoísmo gracias a el murieron muchas personas no me malinterpreten joel para mi es uno de los mejores personajes de el mundo de los videojuegos. al final el juego es una venganza mutua la decicion que toma ellie repercute en la vida de abby y el final es como el perdón mutuo abby perdono a ellie y ellie a abby en el mundo de the las of us no hay ni buenos ni malos y el personaje principal no es la persona mas importante de el mundo es una persona cualquiera puede que para nosotros sea especial pero en ese mundo solo es una persona común si muere joel el mundo no va a dejar de girar porque no es el centro de el universo y el juego nos transmite ese mensaje TU NO ERES ESPECIAL.
    en fin el juego es uno de los mejores de el momento y sin duda el mejor de ps4 esa es mi opinión

    I want to write this review because I don't understand the low user score. People are saying the ruined the story but for me the story took an obvious root. I feel as though naughty dog wanted to make you feel uncomfortable while playing the game. As far as all the people upset about the "SJW" story line this isnt the case and I somewhat believe naughty dog placed them there just to piss people of the story feels real and while I hated feeling some of the stuff I did - Sometimes in life there is not a happy ending and we just have to move on.… Expand

    It was good. I love those characters. And I love Ellie anyway. Effects were unbelievable. I really felt revenge and anger. I bored sometimes but in the end I just cried. Game was really really awesome.
