    The lack of creativity of these makers is such a shame. Instead they are trying to sell their Garbage Game with shocking scenes, which are totally unnecessary. I am so frustrated what they did to this Game after a genius part 1. La jugabilidad es del 2013 y las mejoras añadidas al combate cuerpo a cuerpo no son lo suficiente como para sentirse como una renovación, obviamente es divertido (porque el primero lo era), pero se siente viejo a pesar de ser un juego nuevo.

    Pero lo peor de este juego es la historia y el desarrollo de personajes, para que se entienda mejor: estamos en un mundo post-apocaliptico, no hay comida, no hay agua y si no estas enfrentado a zombies, estás enfrentando contra personas que quieren tus suminstros, en este contexto Ellie desarrolla un instinto de supervivencia donde es capaz de matar a cualquiera que represente una mínima amenaza para ella o para la gente que quiere.
    Sabiendo lo anterior, una imbécil (Abby) que le importa más la venganza, mata brutalmente a las personas que amas, destruye la vida "tranquila" que tanto les había costado crear a todos, te arranca los dedos mientras te enfrentas a duelo a muerte justamente para vengar todo el daño que te hizo. ¿Qué haría Ellie en esa situación? la mataría, ¿qué hizo Ellie? pues... La deja ir.

    Eso no tiene sentido, ya que nunca se desarrolló a Ellie para que entendiera que la venganza no traería ninguna satisfacción, no se desarrolló para que entendiera que la brutalidad que ella y Joel llevaron a cabo en el primer juego traería consigo resentimiento, dolor y por ende, venganza y que era algo que tenían que esperar, no se desarrolló para que dejara de lado ese instinto de supervivencia.

    A mi no me molesta que Joel haya muerto, al final el contexto del mundo sustenta la crueldad y frialdad, y tu jugablemente lo estas justificando, matas a todo lo que sea enemigo. Lo que me molesta es que a último minuto y sin justificación cambien la personalidad de un personaje.    … Expand

I just could not get involved in the game. And there is no way Joel would make a mistake like that. That was not his character. You took my favorite character and changed him, then killed him in just a ridiculous fashion.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The reason that I'm doing that review is because I'm deeply distressed and sad with this game. A great part of the players are talking bad about it because the politics and representativeness, but that things is not bad, we are all equal you know. Marvel and Dc make great movies with that theme. But this game is a continuation of a adventure game, and that's what we expected for 7 long years. Joel is one of my favorite characters in the game, and I've felt nothing with his death, because the trailers made the players believe that he was going to be present in a great part of the game, but they change skins, make trailers be a story and the real game be another. And all that violence, makes me wonder why I was playing this. Another great problem was making us play with Abby; Joel has he defects, but we liked him just for that, be a complex man that did horrible things to survive, but learn to be a human being again, being a father again after know a girl, an impulsive, charismatic and great girl. So for what in the hell we possible want to play with the woman that kills this guy? And what they did with Ellie, man, where's that girl we met before? Joel died with the impression that he and Ellie was not good with each other, and Ellie ends the road completely lost and having nothing and nobody to turn back, even her hobby she cant do anymore.In the end I thought she was going to commit a suicide with all the desgusting things that happened. Thanks to god that a friend lent me and I didn't have to pay for this game. We are in a problematic time in real life, you don't need to worsen your mental health, specially if you played the first game.… Expand

    Garbage game. Way to ruin such a beautiful storytelling from the first game. If you think the reviews are bad just because we are homophobic , you are either blind or incredibly dumb. People who rated this game positive made love to their dead grandmother while drinking urine. 10 out of 10 please do not buy this game

Im not sure I've been this disappointed at a long time series sequel since Mass Effect Andromeda. The story is terrible, the path it puts you on makes no sense, the big OMG moment feels completely un earned, and the ending is nonsensical. I am truly disappointed in Naughty Dog.… Expand

    I was really enjoying this game until I was thrust into playing as Abbey. All I could think is why am I Abbey instead of joel? If I wasn't going to be ellie I wanted to be joel and vice versa. This was such a big disappointment and I couldn't even understand why this decision was made? Why would you completely discard the main character in the beginning of the 2and installment? This gameI was really enjoying this game until I was thrust into playing as Abbey. All I could think is why am I Abbey instead of joel? I want to get this out upfront: my major problem with the game is that I was forced to play half of it as a character I didn’t care about at all and that I felt nothing for. The entire time I was just hoping I could go back to playing as Ellie. And you do come back to her—after 10 plus hours as Abby. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against new characters but I don’t think we needed a new playable one. In fact, I love Jesse, Dina, Yarra, and Lev. They all felt much easier to connect to than Abby, who feels like a weird attempt at an “Ellie 2.0,” just more physically imposing and less emotionally impactful. I’ve heard a few people say they loved Abby but that’s a sentiment that I personally can’t share. Similarly, I didn’t much care about Abby’s group of WLF friends; Owen felt one dimensional and he and Abby’s relationship didn’t resonate for me, likely due to a lack of chemistry between the actors. I never really connected to Mel or Manny either. Manny felt like the most charismatic but seeing him spit on Joel’s dead body kind of ruined any chance he had of winning me over. Let me also say this: I don’t mind that Joel died. I would, however, have liked to have seen it executed better for a more meaningful impact. A lot of the death in this game happens really quickly and then is kind of brushed over; I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to connect to Jesse only to have him shot in the face in a split second after walking through a door. I understand that this is supposed to convey a sense of reality; you don’t always see death coming and it can happen in an instant, no matter the context. But this is fiction and these are potentially great characters thrown away too soon for what feels like shock value. If we weren’t supposed to suspend our disbelief when it comes to death in video games then Joel falling on a rebar and living wouldn’t have worked in the first Last of Us. So why are fantastic characters dropping like flies only to let this bland one walk away at the end? To be fair, this game had some great moments, most of them in the first half. Ellie and Dina’s relationship has been my favorite in games, and media in general, in a long time. The natural chemistry they have and the incredible voice acting by Ashley Johnson and Shannon Woodward makes you feel for these characters the way we felt for Joel and Ellie in the first game. Troy Baker also does a phenomenal job, especially in the final flashback scene of the game where Joel is breaking down but fighting to hold himself together. You could feel the nuance in every voice crack, sigh, and sniffle. The thematic song thread Joel introduces at the beginning tugged at my heartstrings and every time it came back up throughout the story I could honestly feel a small bit of the first game’s spirit creeping into this sequel. The same can be said for the incredible Ellie and Joel flashback moments, each one giving us a glimpse at what we missed in the five year time jump between Part 1 and now. The game is undeniably visually stunning; the art direction is fantastic and every environment is unique and fascinating, down to the lighting. The gameplay is revamped and slightly expanded, allowing the player new methods of movement like a prone option for stealth and crevices to squeeze through to escape infected or get the drop on an enemy. The combat feels good and the impact is definitely felt with every punch you take and each one you deal. Shooting is more or less the same as the first game with bullet drop (and arrow drop). The upgrade paths are great but with the story split between two characters it’s seemingly impossible to upgrade everything in one go unless you have your resources setting set to “very light” so the game basically gives you loot everywhere you go. There is a new game plus option to keep all your upgrades while you play through again but I honestly don’t see myself playing more than once. I’m just not interested in sitting through Abby’s story a second time, not to mention the contrived plot points that exist solely to move the story in this specific direction. I personally don’t understand why this game is getting 10/10 scores or being touted as a “masterpiece.” Half of it was great—the other half felt like one of those movies that has you checking your watch every couple minutes. As this is a story-driven game, I have to dock a couple points at least for a poorly executed story with really good highlights. The gameplay is by far the best part but the fun of it is hindered when you don’t feel invested while playing as someone other than Ellie. Which, again, is half the time. I hope they end the franchise here because I just can’t see it regaining that spark that made it so special to begin with. Or next time just let me play as Ellie, please, for God’s sake.… Expand

    Such a beautiful looking game and such a poor story. By and large, I will not give a game a good score any more just because of graphics. In this day and age of hyper-threaded processors, blazing fast video cards and SSD hard drives, gorgeous graphics should be the least you get in a game. But when that's all your game can boast, it isn't saying much.

    I liken this game to the 'torture-porn' episode of The Walking Dead where they killed Abraham and then they killed Glenn. Shock value and character deaths not because they make sense to the plot and overall story arc but because someone wants to shock and titilate.

    If all this game can do is say "Look how woke we are" then it isn't much of a game. You might as well go back and play the first one over since they didn't change anything else. Maybe Naughty Dog should go sit down and talk to Square Enix for lessons on how to innovate with one of your most successful and beloved franchises. If you aren't willing to do that, maybe then just stick with Crash Bandicoot titles    … Expand

Felt so rushed, the gameplay wasn't spectacular but the players just wanted what TLOU I gave, A NICE STORY AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, this game didn't have it... Its a sad day in gaming history. If you have any love for the characters in the first game...which is what made that game so good...you will absolutely loathe the second one. Abby is a total joke of a lead character. Who cares about Abby?? No one... even though naughty dog tries to force her down your throat. Completely unnessary, disgusting sex scene. Wtf?? It has absolutely no relevance on the story. Why put it in there? I can only assume it gave the designers a hard on (I think I just vomited). Then spitting on Joel you have to be freaking kidding me. Never in my life had I ever wanted to unexperience a game. I cant unsee what was in that game and I really want to. I see now on social media the people at naughty dog are in denial saying these negative reviews are bots. I am a real freaking person who paid for their piece of crap game and who will never purchase a thing from naughty dog again. If anyone reads this before purchasing the game I implore you to consider some other game worth your time and hard earned money.… Expand

    It just makes me sick how they all of a sudden wrote the beloved characters from the first game in such a way that they try and make you hate them and they're forcing you to think they're villians. There are so many plot holes too like Joel and Tommy telling random people where they live and what their names are despite the first game being all about not trusting anyone.

    All I'll say here in closing is imagine if John Wick did what he did and then let his dog's killer go free at the end.    … Expand

    ALL (apart from the graphics).
    The story is horrible and forced to be as gloomy as possible (and cringe), the characters are flat and stupid (seriously, Abby, kill or capture ellie? Why did you keep her alive? For yet another "revenge" cliché? And why didn't ellie kill Abby? WHY!?!?), Joel is killed like a dog and in a fairly ... stupid way (Abby: "What's your name, the guy who saved me from certain death?" Joel: "Joel" Abby: -shots him without asking for more, he could easily be another Joel, and given the reaction he should have recognized him at first glance and not just before the "golf game" but ok-) and the rest of the plot is a batman's joke: it's very dark but makes you laugh.
    The gameplay is stale, almost superimposable on the first (apart from dodging) and is extremely linear, worse than a tunnel.
    Various cards are played to make you feel guilty (like killing a dog or a pregnant woman ... this 3 times, and one of them has twins ... triple killing I suppose) or more likely, to hide the AI of enemies that at normal levels is set to "decerebrate" or other **** like "stealth" (it seems that the enemies are nearsighted and deaf, without glasses and earphones). At least the game tries to be more "innovative" with a trans and lesbians ... but they did it so badly that it is almost offensive to real trans and lesbians. Not because they are Trans or lesbians, but as silly as those characters are and "THAT SEX SCENE IS OK BUT NO 2D **** but I also said it before that they don't have a brain, I'm repeating myself , but soon I conclude, don't worry.
    If it hadn't been The last of us 2 (or rather, The last game from us 2) I wouldn't have given it 0, at most 4, but since one of the worst games of 2020 is the sequel to one of the best games ever and that for which I waited 7 years, it deserves the grave and oblivion.
    Neil Druckmann, change jobs and do something useful for society ... like bring pizzas or clean the toilets, but stay away from video games, thanks.    … Expand

    Just truly sad, they managed to ruin this franchise for me. The gameplay was great but the awful story managed to overshadow any other positive things in this game. I'm so disappointed, the first games is one of my favorite games of all time, but this, this isn't the last of us.

    I would like to as the devs, how the hell Joel and ellie got so distant, I mean in the first game they had such a good chemistry, in the couple scenes we get to see them interact is like they strangers it's cringy as hell to see Joel interact with the girl he saved and considered a daughter. It's just stupid tbh..... Killing Joel right off the bat, are u serious?? The iconic character from first game... Are you serious?! Why so early??!! Why not more back story before it?!! People would probably wouldn't be so shocked..... But at this rate am done playing the game.... I played only thru the chick killing Joel and am done.. Idc about the rest, Joel was my fav and hhe ded.. This game is stupid, and from spoilers I read, ellie doesn't get revenge and we are forced to play as Abby, Joel's killer... **** outta here.     Abby and Lev are incredibly boring in addition to being a Joel and Ellie 2.0, PS: It was not necessary to put so much flashback that they do not explain anything besides how much sex the characters have, it has a horrible pre pubert essence, you have to be between 13 to 15 years and your pants are burning for sex so you like it

    5 years i've been waiting for this game, and when it finally released they hit us with the most bland and predictable story ever.
    Altough the graphics are amazing, the soundtrack is damn near perfect and the combat is basicly the same as the first last of us (bit dissapointing) i just cant bring myself to give this a higher rating, the story is just so disturbingly bad.

    The plot of TLOU2 is absolute diarrhea. Joel dies 2 hours into the game after naively going into the house of total strangers (being an old and experienced survivor in the apocalypse we'd expect some brighter thinking), beaten to death with a golf club by the super buff and masculine Abby, whose life he saved from the infected not 5 minutes earlier, because he killed her father who was a surgeon of the fireflies. All in front of Ellie who later leaves for Seattle, where Abby came from, in search for revenge.
    The problem is that Ellie never gets her revenge because, when she's finally about to kill Abby after Abby bit two fingers off of her hand, she has a flash of Joel playing the guitar and that stops her. This happens some time after Abby had killed Jesse, shot Tommy in the face and almost cut Dina's throat in the same event. Yes, it's just as dumb as it sounds...
    The game forces you to play a 10 hour section as Abby from when her father was still alive to the point when she kills Jesse and shots Tommy. Up next there's a boss fight against Ellie and you have to beat her up using Abby's steroid fueled fists until Dina comes to the rescue with a knife (apparently she forgot she had a gun) and is shot in the shoulder by Lev, the little girl who identifies as a boy or whatever. Again it's just as dumb as it sounds.
    The whole story really is about Ellie killing people for revenge and feeling bad about it and Abby being generally a bad person, having sex with a guy who has a pregnant wife (disgusting scene by the way) and later killing her own WLF friends and acquaintances to save Lev's life.
    So not only Joel was killed in a disgraceful manner and you'll barely get 90 minutes of gameplay with him but you'll be forced to play as the genuinely unlikable, ruthlessly bad and masculine looking woman who killed him and the game will try so hard to make you feel for her by showing you her perspective. And to make matters worse, she doesn't die in the end (thought that was the Ellie's purpose?).

    I watched the leaks when they came out so I knew about Joel's death and everything but, as the game is about 25 hours long, I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking that would fit the narrative and Naughty Dog wouldn't mess up the game so badly but that's exactly what happened.
    To be fair the game has lots of significant improvements in terms of graphics and gameplay but in my opinion they are overshadowed by the terrible story which is so full of plot holes, uninteresting, badly written and incredibly boring. I also hated to play as Abby and particularly Ellie boss fight so much that I finished the game only because I spent money.
    If you don't mind the plot I think you'll enjoy TLOU2, but I didn't so I've uninstalled it and I'll give it a 0 for making me sorry I wasted my money on this crap.    … Expand

Theres only one thing that could've changed this entire game and that's choice, I can deal with joel being brutally murdered but to then force the player to just let it go in the end completely ruined the entire game for me. What was the point of the whole journey of revenge if you're not going to finish what you started. Now I understand what the devs were going for, a story about the cycle of revenge and in the end ellie breaks the cycle by forgiving Abby. However having spent an entire game previously playing as joel and to kill him off so early in part 2 and to just expect players to be ok with letting Abby go just because she saved a kid, no for me I wouldve drowned Abby given the choice and avenged joel. Then the ending wouldve made sense, Ellies in the house trying to play the guitar. But she cant because shes missing her fingers and so she leaves it behind, that would symbolize that she has avenged joel but at a cost and now it's time to move on. But nope this "dark" vengeance driven game has to have a happy ending where everyone but joel gets to live, oh and jessie doesnt but ah no one really cares about him . I would much rather have this whole game not happen rather than keeping Abby alive for what I can only assume will be a spin off game or sequel it's just such a shame naughty dog went in this direction with the story. The gameplay however is brutal, gritty and very tense and the graphics are some of the best I've ever seen but those amazing features cannot carry a game that's premise is storytelling and on that front in my opinion it has fallen short I love the representation of minorities in this game and the accessibility has to be commended but there is noticeable intrusions with this like how male characters will not open doors for you, you have to do it yourself they'll just wait by the door because god forbid if they opened the door for you. Also little things like when owen helps Abby up a ledge she pulls a face behind his back as if to represent she can do it herself she doesnt need his help, but when dina helps ellie up she says thanks and smiles just little things like that idk maybe I'm reading to much into that. To summarise looks great, plays great (although gets a little repetitive in places), however the story falls short because of its conclusion and if they had given a choice to players whether to kill or spare Abby it wouldve solved the whole issue because it plays to both sides but as someone who wanted to fully avenge joel I was not satisfied. There are maybe other solutions like structuring the sorry differently but still a sequel that delivers in every way apart from the story.… Expand

    I really loved the first game, like most fans. After waiting 7 years and Naughty Dog pushing the release date 3 times. It was a bitter disappointment. Especially after investing 25 hours playing it.

    The plot could have worked. But you cant skip essential parts. Like first when your "protagonist" (abby) make the decision to kill cruel you must first let us give her motivation, you must make that we really feel her emotion and can understand her decision for revenge and only to say her dad was that NPC surgeon we kill in the first game is not good enough.
