    I won't give a good score to this game because of the graphics or gameplay, this is a triple A game that suppose to have great graphics and gameplay, developed by a big studio and is a console exclusive, of course it will have good graphics and gameplay!!

    The story of the first game was what made it great, the story of this sequel is what makes it so bad.

    I gave it a 1 only because the first part was a 10. This is a 1 point of pity. The “second part” destroyed one of the best games ever existed. Worthless story build on nothing at all. Delete and forget.

    If you play games for their combat and graphics, then you will love this game but if you care at all about the point of the game and the storyline. then you will be extremely dissapointed.
    Just imagine playing as the character that kills your favorite character. it's a complete waste of time.
    Also why did i kill all of those people if i'm going to forgive Abby in the end? how is that justified?`

    I wouldnt recomend the game to newcomers and especially returning fans to the last of us. Its story is unnecessarily long with to many side diversions. The main plot is completely un-enjoyable. Without spoiling i can safely say youll play as at least one character you hate. Its pretentious that this game thinks it teaching me something I dont know. If the developers really wanted to be thought provoking, the should have made a Deus Ex style game with the player being able to make choices. Even if all the outcome to those choices were negative at least it would be engaging. Like Bioshock Infinite, TLOU2 has a disconnect between gameplay and story. Killing people by the thousands, because the game forces you to, doesnt fit with a morality tale.… Expand

    Gameplay follows the first one. Very fun and fluid. Graphics look great. Unfortunately, the writing/story and characters are bland and extremely forced. Huge forced decisions with inane outcomes.

    Objectively this game doesnt deserve a 0/10, the visuals and soundtrack are great and the gameplay is alright. But you can't make a sequel to one of the best videogames ever with this pathetic level of writing, I know that some reviewers and crybabies will be giving it a 10/10 so I'll slightly compensate that with a 0/10. I hope Naughty Dog learned their lesson, although I doubt it.

Ich habe kein Problem damit das Ellie Homosexuell ist, ich habe auch nichts gegen Transsexuelle, ich habe nichts gegen muskulöse Frauen oder Jüdische Gebetshäuser,... Man hat keine Vorteile als Bodybuilder, ich kenne Privat einen und dieser ist nicht gerade beweglich. Ich finde auch ihr Charakter schlecht geschrieben und die Motivation sehr fragwürdig. Eine große Zeit verbringt man auch, um Medikamente aus einem Krankenhaus zu holen, nur damit die Verletzte Person kurz darauf erschossen wird. Das ging mir alles so richtig auf den Keks, ansonsten die Geschichte um Ellie finde ich gut und spannend erzählt. Sie hätten die Geschichte von Abby kürzer schreiben sollen, das hätte dem Spiel gut getan. Es ist auch deutlich zu lang, ich will das Spiel mögen, doch alles zusammen ist es einfach eine Enttäuschung.… Expand

    Graphics, sound, game play and accessibility got an 8 and a 1/2. The problem Is this is pretty much a walking simulator that has a terrible story. Any time you buy a story driven game that has a terrible story it's a hard pass for me. Nothing extra was put on the combat which was all right with me but not even the upgrades had anything really new. I just can't see giving this a very goodGraphics, sound, game play and accessibility got an 8 and a 1/2. The problem Is this is pretty much a walking simulator that has a terrible story. I mean they had so many chances to make a good story but they bring in someone stupid into the studio, im looking at you Neil and Anita, in order to put in your stupid propaganda you had to ruin a good story. You both knew that if you made a new game and tried to sell this crap no one would buy it. The only way for both of you to make money for this is to destroy a beloved series. Plus look at it this way, no one cares that Ellie is a lesbian, she was in the first game and I thought it was fine. What is so bad is you force your agenda on a story that makes no since. A story full of so many plot holes but hey it makes your stupid politicians happy so hey you win. You destroyed Ellie and Joel, but hey you got Abby which also sucks. But the lack of sense in the story in the second part and how stupid and meaningless was treated Joel part in the game(trailers mislead not only me and I call it cheating)shocked me and I just completely lost interest in playing.. The game forces me to play a character that I don't care at all about and later in the game I hate playing it. The ending is a masterpiece in sh.. writing and has no sense whats so ever .Its 8 season of Game of Thrones again but in the game industry. Neil Druckman should NEVER EVER again be a part of any AAA game-period. He destroys one of the best game and story ever created in gaming and for that I hate him from my guts.… Expand

    Let's start with good things about this game. Fantastic graphic, physics, effects. So, everything is good except plot. And it's bad not because of SJW. Actually i don't give a **** for this part of story. But story is a really bad... No it's not bad, it's ****ing awful

    The Cutscenes and Voiceacting are Amazing. The Story is predictable and falls flat at the midpoint of the game. The Gameplay although refined and better than in the first game overstays it's welcome and grows repetitive.
    The Flashbacks take you out of the narrative flow and just serve to give the player agency in hunting the main antagonist. It might have made more sense to keep the story    The Cutscenes and Voiceacting are Amazing. The Story is predictable and falls flat at the midpoint of the game. The Gameplay although refined and better than in the first game overstays it's welcome and grows repetitive.
    The Flashbacks take you out of the narrative flow and just serve to give the player agency in hunting the main antagonist. It might have made more sense to keep the story in chronological order and switch between the perspectives of the two main characters. This would all have lead to a better bond to both while giving us more time with Joel, Tommy, and other supporting Characters.

    - the runtime is too long
    - The Story although good on Paper falls flat in the Execution leaving you to debate whether or not you want to even continue on playing.

    All in All most fans can relate that this is not the sequel we wanted or even needed.
    @NaughtyDog you really need to think about it if all the crunch and overtime are worth it if by the end even people who get paid to play videogames for a living struggle to find the drive to finish the game and even go so far as to never finish it.    … Expand

    My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined. I waited 5 years to play this And they gave me a horrible intro and **** ending, The story is garbage. It’s a look inside the deeply disturbed mind of people like neil druckmann. I just want to forget about this game.

This story could fit in 10 hours, but for some reason it stretched up to 25-30 hours.

    Gameplay:
    A few new mechanics in combat, but after 10 hours it becomes boring to play this game. Fight with people, fight with infected, fight with people, fight with some boss. You're keeping doing it over and over again.
    Exploring some areas after few hours becomes really ridiculous. If you find a safe than you need to find a note that contains code. And the note is located right next to the safe. Often notes contain just a code, but rarely it's a little puzzle like some date you need to find out. A lot of boring notes. It's so ridiculous to see that everybody right before death has written its own note describing life, situation that was going on there and kinda like that.

    Animations: nothing to say, it is awesome. So smooth and realistic.
    Graphics: nothing to say, it is awesome too. Even after graphics downgrade, this game is beautiful. Especially cutscenes.
    Music: nothing is remembered. A lot of simple ambients.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I genuinely thought about giving it a 0 score, but the game actually serves its purpose of entertaining, since the mechanics, gameplay, graphics and the feeling of survival is well presented.

    However, the disappointment is huge on the story, since Naughty Dog didn't just killed one of the most loved videogame characters in the last decade, but they literally spat on his corpse, not to mention that they forced us to play the second half of the game as a character we don't care about at all, and to top it, they want us to empathize with her and almost kill Ellie just because.
    Of course, this was a game about vengeance, so it doesn't make any sense that Ellie forgives Abby in the end, since she already lost Dina, her integrity and killed hundreds just to stop over a dumb flashback.

    They made a wonderful story in the first game, but this sequel is just a joke and craps on everything good this series had.

Joel didn't even trust his shadow and out of nowhere decides to save a stranger and let her take them to her shelter? it's like it wasn't joel), they kill their friends, they shoot him and blind in one eye practically his uncle, When we look for revenge they destroy us, And after we look for revenge again we let her go? not to mention we lose 2 fingers and the ability to play guitar, And if that wasn't enough, she abandons us and we end up alone, Losing everyone and we're left miserable. I know The Last of Us isn't a happy story, but please, is this a joke? The rest of the game obscures how little good this crap has. I doubt that Neil and the bunch of useless people who worked on it will see or care about our reviews considering the money he's making off of this crap. They turned a work of art and an incredible story that touched the hearts of millions of people into politically correct nonsense. If the companies keep this up, what's next?     with the story , without giving any spoilers, this to me comes across as a classic case of bad writing where the writers had an idea of all the scenes they wanted and just wrote the story around that , rather than focusing on story first.

    all other criticisms aside I dont care if the game is political or wants to push a message , so long as it does so through telling a compelling story with compelling characters.

    this game has neither compelling story or characters and they somehow managed to make the old characters boring and aside from physical appearance, they seem to bear no resemblance to their previous iterations.

    I wanted to hold off on reviewing this game until I had played it as I thought many of what we are hearing about it on both sides is propaganda. Unfortunately now that I have played it I can say for me its just a boring game with a poorly thought out story that seems more concerned with chaining a bunch of set pieces together than telling a story.

    Full disclosure , I couldn't finish this game , it was too boring , I ended up watching videos and streams to see the end , and its not often I give up on a game.

    unfortunately there is no resolution or real growth for the characters and you get to the end and feel like nothing has really happened.

    such a shame , Naughty Dog are one of the best studios out there for this type of thing, but Kudos to the artistic integrity to make the game they wanted and to stick by their vision.

    What a disappointment of a story. I waited 6 years in vain. I lost a lot of trust in ND that I perhaps will never recover.

    I feel sorry for the developers, who clearly put in so much effort to make this game beautiful as it is. But the story is so bad that all that work is just... lost.

    The story was one of the biggest disappointments that I ever had on gaming. It doesn't feel natural, this Abby narrative is so forced, i had to drag myself to endure it. They try so hard to make you feel sympathy for this character, that I just can't understand. Can you imagine how hard it is to play with a persona that you are rooting against? argh.

    The first was so compelling because the characters felt like real people. The story just.. happens, as a result of these characters interactions. Total different story with this game. Many a times which I could tell that the narrative was being forcibly directed somewhere. Then, immersion is completely gone.

    There's talk about politics influence in this game, and I can clearly see it now. And honestly, I'm ok by that, it's you company, and the game is your product, do what you will with it, and let the market decide if it's worth buying. But with all the shady marketing ans misleading information prior to launch, I just feel lied to.

    This game is only a thing because of the masterpiece that was the first. And now, they s*** on the original characters, mislead the fans with dirty tactics in the promotional material, and just to complement, now the bad reviews are from bots and bigots.

    The game ist **** don't t buy it. I can't believe I waited for 7 years to play this piece of **** The story is trash I don't know how anyone in their right mind could think it was good. **** the Metascore. They either played a different game or they were pay off.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Graphic wise, this game looks great compared to The Last of Us being that it was a PS3 port. Where this fails is the story. I have read people saying to give it a chance or play it through so finishing the game today I can say that the story was poorly executed. Killing Joel early on was one thing, the manner in which they did it was not thought out at all. His death comes about from him being naive now? By trusting a room full of strangers being severely outnumbered? Like seriously? He ran someone over for merely approaching a vehicle he was in due to his lack of trust in anyone outside of those he knows. The second half of the game is very boring and playing as Abby completely ruins the momentum of the story in a poor attempt for the audience to feel empathy for her. This is just a poorly written story and honestly people should avoid this game if you are a fan of the first Last of Us. To top it off the whole campaign of revenge leads to no revenge at all and Ellie just lets her go because that's what someone would do witnessing her father like figure being brutally tortured then killed right in front of you.The director Neil Drucann is openly taunting fans and completely being immature about this situation… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
