    Warm, direct and with simple, hassle-free gameplay The Last Campfire is a breath of fresh air. It will not take too much of your time, it will respect your intelligence and overall is just a rewarding and fun gameplay experience. In a world of heavy, AAA titles, games as service titles and bloated RPGs, The Last Campfire is a beacon of hope that small, wonderful, single-player experiences will carry on. Well done Hello games, I loved it.

    The Last Campfire teaches us that a flame can be rekindled and that we should not be let down by difficulties encountered throughout our lives. What a pity that the technique does not always follow… without these little clashes, The Last Campfire would come close to perfection in its category.

    So i hadn't played this game before, but recently picked it up on sale, and have been very pleasantly surprised. A classic story driven puzzle game, with a lovely graphic style a basic but cute story and a fantastic score. Really like the narrator too, she has a good voice and the accent is very pleasant too.     I purchased this game for about $6 on sale and wasn’t expecting too much from it. Right off the bat I was impressed with the visuals of the game. I love the little Embers, they remind me of the beans from Fall guys, and the world that is created here is very immersive. The melancholy soundtrack fits the mood of the game perfectly, as there is not a very happy or upbeat subject matter dealt with in the story line. It’s nothing too serious, though. The main goal of the game is to find your way back home and to help fellow Embers who have lost hope and become “Forlorn” along their journey. I enjoyed the narration and storytelling throughout the game, which is not something that I normally care for. I also enjoyed how the story wrapped up in the end as well, but it did leave me wanting more content. Gameplay is super simple, in fact I’d definitely recommend this game to younger gamers who enjoy puzzle platformers as the puzzles in this game are not very difficult at all. I guess that’s one of my main gripes with the game. I feel that if the puzzles were a little bit tougher and the game a little bit longer, it would have been absolutely amazing. All in all it’s a game that will take you about 5-6 hours to beat if you explore the entire map and find all of the journal notes. The areas that you explore are unique enough that no map is required, so getting lost is not a big problem. All in all it’s a game well worth the $6 I spent on it, and I definitely recommend this for beginner gamers and veterans alike. You can see that much passion and care were put in by the devs when creating this fantastic little world. I’d love to see a part II in the future, hopefully a little longer and a bit harder.… Full Review »
