De mis mejores títulos para jugar, ¡me encanta! Hace mucho que no sentía terror al jugar un título como este, lo amo. Muchas gracias por darnos un juego tan maravilloso.

Mixes all my favorite survival horror games together into one awesome package. Brings back that Shinji Mikami tense gameplay that he is known for. Felt like a modern take on Resident Evil 4 in a different universe. Couldn't stop playing.

The Evil Within 2 is less creepy, but more refined. It's not quite as good as the first, but very entertaining. Like the original, the game borrows a page or two from The Last of Us. Visually, the game is an improvement with moody lighting and a solid framerate. The environments, however, are quite bland due to the story. The environments, however, are quite bland due to the story. While The Evil Within took place in a nightmare dreamscape, this is set in an ordinary town. Of course, the town only exists in a hyper real VR simulation.

The story involves the protagonist's daughter and a serial killer who are both inside the VR world. It's known as STEM and it bears a resemblance to the Animus from "Assassin's Creed". The plot is a bit overstuffed, but also less convoluted than the story from "The Evil Within". One of the biggest additions to EW 2 is the open-world environments. At certain points, you can use a scanner to discover numerous side-missions which are all worth pursuing. Unfortunately, the tone of the game is all over the place with some goofy line readings that conflict with the serious nature established at the beginning. Gameplay-wise, the weapons and upgrade system of the original return with a few nifty upgrades.

Overall, this follow-up is a good one with refined gameplay and a much improved presentation. It may not be as creepy as the first, but it's just as lengthy and even less frustrating (booby traps, clunky controls and tough difficulty are a thing of the past). While there are superior horror titles, "The Evil Within 2" should please fans of action-based scary games. I'd give it an 8.2 out of 10.

Worth picking up for a bargain if you enjoy your action horror with a focus on stealth.

The game plays much like The Last of Us, with an over the shoulder camera similar to Resident Evil 4. A handgun and glass bottles are your staples. Like the former, Evil Within 2 is reasonably linear, with semi open world game play that offers the occasional side mission and doesn't rely on

The game plays much like The Last of Us, with an over the shoulder camera similar to Resident Evil 4. A handgun and glass bottles are your staples. Like the former, Evil Within 2 is reasonably linear, with semi open world game play that offers the occasional side mission and doesn't rely on backtracking too much. I was only stuck briefly a couple of times on what to do and the game guides you without being overbearing.

As with many horror titles the story isn't the strongest but one can easily look past it and have a good time. There is plenty of back story for characters should you want to look into it.
I found the steady incremental changes in weapons and enemies was enough to keep me interested, and the variety - from stealth action, to shooter, to Layers of Fear-esque sequences was engaging if perhaps predictable at times.
The bosses in particular are memorable.
Graphically it's not the pinnacle of the genre, but it certainly has some great looking environments. The Inception-like collapsing worlds and one particular enemy who has a flair for bloody art are a highlight in that space. Use of the environment like explosive barrels and vehicles, to electrocuting puddles for damage was a nice addition.
It's perhaps worth noting too that there are accessibility options on offer. It's not quite on the level of The Last of Us Part 2, but if you are wanting to make the game easier to control then there might be something here for you (one shot kills, auto aim, invincibility).

Also you have a pet cat.

Don't expect a AAA title but if you can looks past a lack of polish and just have fun then you may well find this worth a few dollars. I will be looking out for a sequel.

Shinji Mikami’s philosophy is to focus on making the game’s good aspects shine even brighter instead of trying to eradicate its flaws. His latest work both benefits and suffers from that approach. The Evil Within 2 offers great exploration, but its story is laughable. It’s a thrilling shooter, but a mediocre stealth game. At the end of the day I find Mikami to be right – a game’s best moments count the most and make us turn a blind eye to its flaws. TEW2 fails to reach the level of my beloved Resident Evil 4, but in today’s circumstances a triple AAA survival horror without online components and intrusive microtransactions is a gem. A likeable follow-up that addresses valid criticisms of its predecessor and provides gory fun, but loses a little of what made it special in the process. [Christmas 2017, p.90]

Exploring the game's main town, which is full of monsters, new weapons and items, is a blast. New discoveries will immerse you into the gameplay, and make you forget about that daughter you have to save.
