Horrible cop out ending. So much build up & mystery all just to be spit in the face by the people who wrote this story. I'm almost more mad that it started off really spooky & interesting just for a lazy conclusion. I have LITTLE HOPE for the next game in this series

It’s a mediocre game with bad acting and motion capture, weak story and a horrible gameplay - filled with quick time events.

This studio just can't seem to do anything right with this Dark Pictures series.

Do you like when game mechanics are not explained to you? Only to have said mechanics end up defining the outcome of your characters? Do you enjoy cheap jump scares that becomes so predictable and cringe you groan everytime they happen? Do you enjoy a convoluted confusing plot with 3 different layers only

Do you enjoy a convoluted confusing plot with 3 different layers only to have them all thrown into the wind at the end with a Signs level intellect twist? Well then this is the game for you.

A horror choice game, where choices give outcomes that don't make sense (because trait mechanics are never explained), and the horror is La Llorona movie levels of bad. The plot honestly was okay, it was convoluted and messy, but I thought at least the poorly wrapped present would have a nice bow at the top where it all meets. Nope, a twist that was such **** I don't even want to play another playthrough.

I could go on about the editing, the pacing, the voice acting, sound design, controls etc. But what's the point. Don't buy it. Don't play it. It's not worth the co-op play.

The irony is Man of Medan had a decently working system, if they just spend more time fleshing out that game, instead of investing it w.e. the **** this was. We could've had a subpar Until Dawn (instead of glitchy **** fest with MoM and lame cluster**** in Little Hope).

Not a great game. Not the worst or most difficult game, but these types of experiences rely heavily on the story and characters and if the characters are boring it all falls apart. I don't know what magic has been lost since Until Dawn, but I keep hoping that they will get it back with one of these games.

The motion capture was also quite rough for some reason, all of the characters

The motion capture was also quite rough for some reason, all of the characters seem to act like dolls and not look at each other half the time, which makes all of the interactions really stilted.

Overall the only real neat thing about the game was the demons chasing the characters. Without giving anything away, the reasons that they appear how they do and the overall design was excellent. It doesn't redeem much, but it did earn the game a few points.

Played this with a friend in co op mode and the game's reliance on quick time events and cutscenes really started to piss us off. The jumpscares felt like they were just ways to keep us awake while we were playing the game because most of the time it was really just watching cutscenes, walking around, and pressing circle or triangle at the right second. THAT IS NOT GAMEPLAY. The story was also massively convoluted and after playing for quite awhile i still do not understand who the main character is and what is their objective. It was funny at times when my friend was really excited to kill an enemy and we were both hyped to see him take that shot, but he ended up exploding one of the main characters' heads as a plot twist. Play when drunk with friends over at your house because you wont remember anything from the game anyways. Expand

This game definitely does not live up to Supermassive’s “Until Dawn”. Little Hope is extremely boring and not scary at all. The few attempts it makes to scare you just aren’t scary. I’m just starting Man of Medan and hope that’s better. Hope Supermassive takes a note from this bomb to create something much better the next time around. In short- Little Hope just has No Hope at all! Definitely don’t recommend. I'm sorry, but no one can honestly give this a 10! Expand

Had so much fun in the first 7/8ths of the game. Was a little confused but I figured a lot would be explained at the end. And then I reached the end and realized the whole game was a waste of time and nothing I did the entire game even mattered. The twist was stupid and confusing. They tried making it deep but really they just left half of the questions unanswered and ruined the whole game.

I liked the previous game in this series, "the man of medan", and loved "until dawn". But this game is not worth your money. The story in this game is not good. The gameplay is not good. The characters ar uninteresting, and have wierd facial animations. I also found the game to be so dark that very few of the explorable areas felt special, interesting or memorable. I also found the game to be so dark that very few of the explorable areas felt special, interesting or memorable. I played the game in "movie night" mode, and during the whole game, me and my friends found the the story strange and confusing. We constantly burst out laughing as the characters reactions to supernatural and frightening experiences were very unnatrural and at points completely absurd. The only frightening thing in this game is cheap jumpscares btw. The quicktime-event based gameplay is not a dealbreaker for me, but in this game they put prompts that described the action the buttonpress would do before the actual button prompt appeared, which I found to be very confusing. Furthermore, in "movie night" mode, the whole point is for one player to play as their character throughout the game, but in this game they made it so that when my friend was playing, the game jumped to one action my character preformed, and then back to my friends character. Several times this almost killed of my character, as my friend made wrong choices and missed qtes with my characters. But turns out it didn't matter, because the ending (which is a "it was all a dream"-type cliche) makes none of the coices you make matter. It left me and my friends sitting there thinking "what was the point?". Expand

I am a huge fan of Supermassive Games, this ruined the trust I had in this company completely. Like wow, way to skip out on any good plot whatsoever. Used the same jump scare, and I'm not exaggerating about 12 times. I was so excited for this game to come out after playing all their other games, It totally let me down :( like absolute garbage. Wish I could go back in time and NOT play!

we were excited enough for Little Hope after Man of Medan and man. this was bad. this was a bad experience. this may have been the least interesting, most frustrating experience i've ever had in games. honestly. **** this game.

the characters, from the outset, are awful, uninteresting, horrible people. them being bad people isn't necessarily anything that could ruin something-- hell, i do love plenty of things in media where the cast is made up of genuinely bad people-- but at least make them interesting. dad's a drunk, mom's mad, little kid's angry, teens are **** whatever. the story is bland. it's all a lot of whatever.

i could look past the blandness of the world and its people if the gameplay was worth a god damn thing but my god, not even at all. when you have a game that you have given a co-op mode in which people are meant to play characters and make decisions to further a story, a necessary thing to do in that game is give every character something to do. everyone should have some point to the story. everyone playing should have some time with the controller to either advance or **** the story up for themselves or others. Man of Medan did this, and nobody felt left out even if someone else ruined their day and got them killed halfway through. Little Hope falls flat on its face. two of us were left with minimal time with the game, while one or two people in our group had the lion's share of the playtime. i, personally, did absolutely nothing. my involvement in the playthrough was some walking and maybe 10 decisions, if that. meanwhile, other people spent an hour or two with the controller in their hand, possibly at one time.

this is extremely bad planning, and extremely bad writing. what's the point of the co-op if you can't make the cast involved? and it isn't even an issue of me making decisions that shortened my playtime, it was an issue of me getting my hands on the controller and having my entire turn be walking down a road and answering an inconsequential decision, and then passing off to the main protagonist who essentially takes up the entire runtime leaving everyone else scrounging for moments of playtime.

when that playtime comes, as well, there really isn't much at all to do. the game suffers from the exact same thing every game like this suffers from: by making an interactive movie, these studios are simplifying anything resembling "playing a video game" down to simply just quick-time events, mashing a button once in a while, sliding a stick left or right to answer something, and basic, basic, BASIC character movement in a linear, straight line. oh and sometimes you look at a postcard. enthralling. this is barely a video game.

it's one hell of a fall from the last title where it was kind of fun with a group. this left a bad taste in every single one of our mouths, including the one person who essentially played the whole damn game. the trailer for the next title drops at the end of this one, and it's out this month, and i don't think there's anything i want to play less after this experience than another Dark Pictures Anthology game. i can't imagine being excited for another one of these. boy, can't wait to slog through another bad movie where i hit X sometimes!

this could've been an interactive Netflix thing like they've been doing and it would not have felt an ounce ****ing different.

    it's bad.

What distinguishes Little hope from horror movies is that you don’t get to be annoyed about clichés or numerous bad decisions by its characters. No it is not a good idea to wander off alone when a killer is on the loose, nor should you explore that creepy basement by yourself. Yet, in this game, only one person is responsible for his bad judgement: you.

Little Hope is a return to form for Supermassive Games. After the somewhat slow and dry Man of Medan, Little Hope arrives with a narrative audacity and assured performances that place The Dark Pictures Anthology squarely on the top of the interactive filmic adventure game heap. With a rich, complex, and wickedly surprising narrative, Little Hope is well worth playing, despite some awkward moments and transitions.

Little Hope is a fantastic horror experience that really shows what Supermassive can do with the Dark Pictures series. Though it's a short experience and it exhibited a crash during review, it's a fantastically crafted thrilling drama with amazing characters who are genuinely fun to interact with. If this kind of game is something that seems interesting, don't pass up on this experience!
