    The awesome adventures of captain spirit
    Not so awesome
    The Awesome Adventure of Captain spirit is a free to play prequel to life is strange 2.. The decisions you make here will carry over into that game… but I didn’t really find much deciding to be done here other than 1 or 2 moments in this 2 hour game I went in with high hopes for the awesome adventures of captain spirit, I loved    The awesome adventures of captain spirit

    I went in with high hopes for the awesome adventures of captain spirit, I loved life is strange and bits of before the storm…
    the game starts with promise as you’re describing the type of super hero your want captain spirit to be..
    This isn’t your typical life is strange episode though..
    This game takes place all in one area… the home and yard of 10 year old Chris.. aka captain spirit…
    it’s a Saturday and you have a list of awesome things to do.. there are also tons of not so awesome things to do like the laundry and dishes…
    there is a story to uncover here.. the emotion youre used to from this series is here and im excited to see where this story goes or how it ties into life is strange 2 as we don’t know who that game is all about, though after playing through captain spirit I have a few hunches…
    unfortunately though the awesome adventure if captain spirit just doesn’t capitalize on the idea of childhood imagination..
    this is a nostalgia trip as youre playing with your figures.. but where the game lets me down are the rugrat like moments where youre immersed in chris imagination..
    these moments are just extremely brief practically interactive cutscenes where you mash a button and that’s it..
    there wasn’t really a wow this is a neat game moment for me…
    The awesome Adventures of Captain spirit is free so theres really nothing to lose by checking it out.. just don’t go in with crazy expectations to see something cool and unique.. this is more of a story teaser than anything else.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The first thing I asked myself about this game was what kind of game it was. Is it the first free episode of Life Is Strange 2? No, the first episode will arrive in September. Is it a demo? In fact, on the PlayStation Store, it's referred to as a demo. However, if I had to identify it, personally, I would say that Captain Spirit is more like an "episode zero" of what will later be Life Is Strange 2.

    Some might say that the situation in which Chris lives is similar, too similar, to the one of Chloe in the first chapter. It's true, there are similarities in the plot, but I don't agree with those who call it "identical". The end of the game is a cliffhanger that I didn't expect and, even to be a cliffhanger, it's not clear what really happens. We'll find out, I guess.

    Gameplay is just like Life Is Strange, but without the ability to rewind time. There are many things to do inside and outside Chris's house and puzzles (if such they can be defined) are nice and require a minimum of reasoning, like the locker's combination in the garage. However, if there is a puzzle that I didn't appreciate, it was precisely the one of the father's cell phone. Explain me, please, for what reason in the world, I would have to correlate the cell phone's PIN to "HAWTDAWG" word – not even the name of the game itself that the boy wants to play! – and explain me why to introduce a decipherment by letters-numbers correspondence with the T9. Didn't they realize that this puzzle was completely lacking in coherence and logic? Where is the link between the two things? And don't even try to tell me that I can't solve puzzles, because I solved more difficult puzzles without guides in more important, difficult and historical video games, such as the first Resident Evil. But nothing here. With Captain Spirit, I've tried them all – I assure you that I worked with fantasy yet it was all sensible – but in the end I had to look on the blessed Internet to find the solution.

    Graphically, the game makes use of Unreal Engine 4. I have already explained what I think of Life Is Strange's graphics (stylish but with poor use of technology), however – taking into account that I played the first Life Is Strange on PlayStation 3 – it must be said that the improvements are quite evident. Perhaps for those who played it on PlayStation 4, these improvements would be less. And like the graphic style, the music clearly reminds of Life Is Strange.

    What to say? The game is a good start for what will be Life Is Strange 2 and it's free. Expect to see more in August, as told by Dontnod. Being French, it is likely that they will let us know more about the second chapter at Europe's Gamescom being held in Germany.    … Expand

    Short game that comes with Life is Strange 2. It's a very short game (1-2 hours) where you basically are living the life of a kid. You should play it before starting Life is Strange 2 or at least before starting chapter 2.

While it does not hit the same emotional or climatic levels as the original Life is Strange, it is still very good keeping in mind that it is just a short demo. The new father/son dynamic is interesting and it is filled with a great sense of creativity and imagination.     I loved Life is Strange, and mostly enjoyed Before the Storm (although it was no way near as good as the original). This I found to be more of a chore. I've not finished it yet, but It just seemed to be dragging, so I decided to play something else. That is something I never did with either Life is Strange game, I would play at least a whole episode in a sitting. Hope Life is Strange 2I loved Life is Strange, and mostly enjoyed Before the Storm (although it was no way near as good as the original). This I found to be more of a chore.     Captain Spirit is a decent preview of what’s to come in the next instalment of the Life is Strange series, but it is indeed just a preview at its core.

    With an incredibly short length of just around an hour and nearly no challenge or puzzle solving, you won’t find much which will get you hooked here if you’ve experienced the adventures of Max and Chloe. However, I must give the game    Captain Spirit is a decent preview of what’s to come in the next instalment of the Life is Strange series, but it is indeed just a preview at its core.

    With an incredibly short length of just around an hour and nearly no challenge or puzzle solving, you won’t find much which will get you hooked here if you’ve experienced the adventures of Max and Chloe.

    However, I must give the game credit for fantastic handling of emotional moments and a particularly nostalgic charm brought forward to the premise which will bring many back to the days of their childhood.

    It is Life is Strange, just without the long length and challenge, two aspects which really helped the first two entries in the franchise to be enjoyable and really allowed us to connect with the characters.

    Definitely worth the purchase because of the lack of pricing, but don’t expect too much depth here, not as much as the original two games at least.    … Expand

    The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit narra los sucesos previos a Life Is Strange 2, desde el punto de vista de un pequeño muchacho cuyo padre es alcohólico y se aisla en sus propios mundos imaginados por él para entretenerse. Personalmente, no he conseguido conectar del todo con esta pequeña demo. La historia es demasiado    Sinceramente no me pareció nada del otro mundo.

    Personalmente, no he conseguido conectar del todo con esta pequeña demo. La historia es demasiado pretenciosa y creo que no consigue llegar a donde debería. Diría que es demasiado blanda. Gráficamente es igual que Life is Strange: Before the Storm, nada nuevo. Duración escasa (en torno a la promedia de un capítulo de la saga principal) y decisiones muy limitadas.

    Aclarar que es completamente gratis, ni squiera necesitas poseer ninguno de los Life Is Strange para poder jugarlo, por lo que hay 0 riesgo a la hora de jugarlo.

    Recomendado si te molan las aventuras de este estilo y no tienes nada muy interesante para jugar.    … Expand

    Even though it's way shorter than Life is Strange I would say this game has better story, but that doesn't say much.

    Неплохая история, которая пропитана проблемами мальчика про потерю матери, и алкоголизмом отца. В начале, она мне казалась скучной бродилкой. Но уже где-то под середину ощущаешь как мальчику плохо без отца. Прошел я игру з некой скорбью, и сразу же после того начал проходить Life is Strange 2.
    Так что, игру вполне можно пройти да бы понять часть сюжета в Life is Strange 2.    Неплохая история, которая пропитана проблемами мальчика про потерю матери, и алкоголизмом отца. В начале, она мне казалась скучной бродилкой. Но уже где-то под середину ощущаешь как мальчику плохо без отца. Прошел я игру з некой скорбью, и сразу же после того начал проходить Life is Strange 2.
    Так что, игру вполне можно пройти да бы понять часть сюжета в Life is Strange 2.

    The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit attempts to set the stage for Chris and his heroic adventures, but the execution is lacking. Its lack of focus, along with its robust “Awesome Things to Do” chore list, make its two hour runtime drag out far longer than it has any right to.

    Captain Spirit brings us the prequel for Life is Strange 2. The game revolves around Chris a.k.a. Captain Spirit. You get to make choices that affect the story and takes you through an emotional adventure. If you like Life is Strange, this is a must play.
