Although it has its shortcomings, the developers have managed to capture the dark and overwhelming atmosphere of the classic films of the 90s and the 00s. Game mechanics forces the player to be patient in an oppressive environment where, at any moment, we can die in the jaws of a great white shark.

The music takes as reference the soundtracks of John Carpenter's films, which may seem strange for players who wants another type of musical. For me, it's a good reference to those B movies that I liked so much when I was a teenager.

Undoubtedly, a correct game developed by Main Loop created for players who like independent horror games.

    You have to try it!

Good indie survival game. It is a little short (It took me 4 hours to finish it) but the atmosphere is very good and it is a good experience. Recommended.

To be sure, a story about sharks eating a bunch of people could absolutely be compelling. But it would require a lot more effort than what went into Submersed — which, as it stands, is too frustrating to be as creepy as it wants to be.

The game's technical issues and inventory system bring it down heavily. Without the flaws, it's a decent survival horror game, but nothing that stands out that well. If you're a hardcore survival horror player, Submersed might be a game to consider (a guilty pleasure), but for those that want a quality survival horror, look elsewhere.

Submersed is a tragic mess of mistakes, and in addition to everything above, it’s buggy. I had several crashes, textures sometimes disappear from walls if one gets too close, and I’ve fallen through solid floors. If it wasn’t already obvious that one solid setpiece can’t prop up a mediocre game, Submersed should be all the proof that’s required.
