Mar 6, 2018Overall, Strikers Edge is an admirable fighting game that inflects a new direction in the genre. The game is still niche, and is lacking in both aspects that do it the most credit, but the end product is a marvel to be inspired by and improved upon.

Apr 10, 2018Local multiplayer lacks the narrative trappings of the campaigns, but serves as a solid extension of the core gameplay. Online multiplayer, however, is where Strikers Edge falters. After several attempts to evaluate it, I was never successfully matched against an opponent. So, for six-eyed folks in search of a frenetic couch co-op game, look no further. Strikers Edge is an underdog to root for. The rest of us might be better off renting Dodgeball instead.

Feb 13, 2018There’s not a ton of content here, and it’s not the kind of game that is going to keep you engaged for hours a day. For $15, however, it doesn’t need to be.

Feb 5, 2018In summary, Strikers Edge is a fun game to play. I am looking forward to playing the 2v2 mode with a friend. But this isn’t a game I can see myself sinking my teeth into. It is a game where I can play for an hour a day and then move on. Within that hour though, you will have an exciting experience.

Feb 23, 2018While I didn't have the best experience playing this title online, I did have a ton of fun playing against the AI. This title is one of those that is brilliant for parties but is also great for just playing by yourself or online with friends.

Feb 16, 2018Striker’s Edge harks back to the time of 90s arcade sports titles, and it’s just as fun but short lived as they were.
-
Feb 6, 2018Strikers Edge has a strong and satisfying core, but there just isn’t enough surrounding that core experience to keep me engaged for very long. A lack of game mode variety would be excusable if there were some incentive for me to keep playing the one core mode this game has, but that incentive is nowhere to be found. Coupled with the lack of character descriptions or a proper way to practice their abilities, Strikers Edge is a lot like highschool dodgeball; you can only enjoy the same rubber ball hitting you in the teeth for so long before you decide to play something else.
-
Feb 2, 2018Stirkers Edge is a game with a very classic arcade feeling. If you want something like that, particularly focused on the multiplayer, this can be a good option.
-
Feb 16, 2018While Strikers Edge has interesting ideas, it fails to expand on many of them making for a bare-bones experience.
-
Feb 7, 2018For a short time, I was genuinely in love with this game. It managed to be so damn fun, despite the fact that it was whipping my ass right and left. The low-fi production values and unique character designs and power-ups only deepened my affections. However, the fact remains that while it was fun, it was a supernova of a game. It burned hot and bright for a short period of time and then fizzled out almost as quickly. It’s surely worth a glance, but it may be best to wait until you can play this with friends, where it has the chance to truly shine.

Feb 11, 2018Fun and unpredictable, every match of Strikers Edge is unique, unrepeatable and deeper than it seems at first sight. Sadly, the online community is dead and finding an online game is almost impossible.
-
Feb 26, 2018Strikers Edge is a pretty pixel art game with a very focused design and a well-developed experience. Unfortunately for the game, the fun is only there for the first couple of hours and the luster sadly quickly wears off. I appreciate the simplistic design but the unforgiving AI and limited roster/arena scope makes the game feel less then it could have been. I enjoyed Striker’s Edge and could even see this game becoming a breakout hit if the developers were able to expand the game's roster and loosen up the difficulty a bit.
-
Feb 11, 2018Strikers Edge provides a cheap, small bundle of fun that offers something quick and enjoyable to those that want a bite-size scrap. It's simple to understand with little moments of nuance to give some more experienced players an edge. It's unfortunate the community hasn't quite formed around launch but, couch combatants might find entertainment from what is a bright, if slim offering.
-
Feb 8, 2018Although Strikers Edge doesn't quite reach the lofty heights of its peers, it's still a decent multiplayer game with a good premise and fun action. The differences between the characters give the combat just enough nuance to keep things interesting, but a lack of stages or alternate modes may quickly diminish your interest. If you're on the hunt for a new multiplayer title to play with your buddies, this certainly will do the trick, if only for a limited amount of time.
-
Feb 5, 2018If you're looking for the next must-have competitive multiplayer game then you may be disappointed with Strikers Edge's basic gameplay and lack of content. However, its frantic fast-paced formula is fun enough to be worth playing from time to time.
