    Stranded Deep is a beautifully crafted and engaging experience for anyone who is a fan of survival games. It may not provide the same amount of replayability that games like Rust have, but the crafting and exploring mechanics are solid and fun to use. The first time that players climb out of their raft to step onto their new island home or fight off a group of hungry sharks, they will be shown how intense and rewarding Stranded Deep truly is.

    Despite its questionable development status, Stranded Deep has a lot to offer. I’d welcome further development, but even in its current incarnation, this compelling survival sim is more than worth diving into.

    Stranded Deep does not have content and variety comparable to the most famous survival and overall each of its mechanics is quite derivative.

    There are as many things that reward you as there are things that will burden your experience with Stranded Deep. It has the potential to be a really enjoyable game, but poor mechanics shoot itself in the foot. If you are a fan of this genre then this is another game for you. On the other hand, if you have interest in getting into survival games then do not start with this. I had a good time with Stranded Deep. I spent a good amount of time with it. Thinking about all the pros and cons together, my opinion on this game is mixed.

    I literally made a Metacritic account for this review. I am never one to write reviews but here I am after spending $30 on this game. AfterI literally made a Metacritic account for this review. After watching the misleading PS4 launch trailer it looked spectacular but never in my life have I been lied to as much as that video.

    Firstly the sensitivity of the screen is abysmal, it takes a full 4-5 seconds to completely turn your character around with no option to change the setting.

    Secondly the amount of BUGS and poor game design is unbelievable. Not sure if this was a bad port to the console cause apparently the PC version is good but the console is just utter trash. The game stutters as you walk around and over objects, graphics are appalling, it literally feels like it was made by a group of university students for their final project. The amount of bugs that you will find in this game is just laughable, they are stealing consumers money with the pricepoint of $30. I had a slither of hope that I wasn't making an impulse purchase and now I have learnt my lesson from misleading reveal and announcement trailers that make it look so flashy.

    Thirdly sound is just so recycled, only ever here like 2 different variations of game music and its the same boring crap. I actually play with the game muted its so much better.

    Fourthly the game is just boring, combine all of my points together and its just a waste of time.

    Conclusion save your money until they fix and polish this game up because it is honestly no where near the $30 they are charging you for. It feels like an Early Alpha game or in Beta testing at the least.    … Full Review »

Feels like a beta, had a lot of issues / bugs with game mechanics like water collectors that don't do anything, no matter if it rains or not...so what do you do the whole time? Looking for Coco Nuts and drinking it in order not to die on thirst. The whole days!!! Dont get me wrong. Of course its a survival game, but since you acutally got no chance to explore other island or surroundings, because you are just dealing with hunger and thirst at a very low level without a chance to improve your stuff because the game mechanics dont work properly, I did not feel encouranged to continue. At one point little plants (that I needed to produce ropes) totally dissapeard for days. Its just freaking boring or frustrating and it feels like it still has some very deep balancing issues. Framerate issues as well and lots of graphic bugs. Its an Indie so I dont care for graphics too much. But I really expected a nice Survival Experience like a Long Dark in Paradies. Well... What came to my mind is, that Stranded Deep would probably work way better with Multiplayer - but there is no!!! To me, I'm done with the game, as long as it stays in this Status because I really did not had any fun with it at all.… Full Review »

The people rating this low, did not spend enough time getting to know the game mechanics. I'm fighting sharks, catching lionfishs, living the life! 30 in-game days in, and still got PLENTY of hours to explore this game. Huge fan, thx!!!… Full Review »
