I want to give this game a higher rating to support single-player endeavours rather than the trite we got from Battlefront, however there are just too many glaring issues that I couldn't overlook once I'd seen them.

The graphics allows you the typical performance mode vs resolution. The difference is noticeable, however even in performance mode I had serious framerate dips and chopping.

The graphics allows you the typical performance mode vs resolution. The difference is noticeable, however even in performance mode I had serious framerate dips and chopping. This wasn't even during hectic scenes; it happened randomly. When it worked it worked amazingly and I loved seeing 60FPS lightsaber action but this was hindered far too often.

The story of the game is fairly by the numbers, although I didn't progress far enough to experience it properly. I liked that it went down a more original route rather than imitating movies or rebooting old material. This had the foundation for an amazing game if not for the issues I'll outline below.

The gameplay is where the game really falters. Fallen Order does not shy away from its inspirations, however this goes a step too far in that it basically copy and pastes mechanics and concepts from games like Dark Souls, Assassins Creed, Uncharted, and Ratchet and Clank. Unfortunately, it doesn't do a very good job of this. The holomap is a confusing mess. The meditation spots not being used for fast travel is a bewildering oversight. The parrying seems temperamental and chaotic. Traversal is fun at first but eventually becomes a chore and the puzzles are very irritating.

I will give credit for including an option for difficulty levels that helps overcome mundane boss fights, something I think Soulborne games need.

The problem I have with this game is that it comes across like a handful of developers had some budget left over from the Battlefront games but resources were very limited. If not for the Jedi and lightsaber elements, it would be a very simplistic and dated experience. It could have benefitted from being a smaller experience because there just isn't enough depth and variety to maintain interest for the entire game. Having said that, I am very interested in a sequel should improvements be made.

There is a lot of side stuff you can do such as secret mini bosses and a bunch of collectibles to discover. The game uses a skill tree to learn new moves and grow your health and force power. However none of the gear you find do anything for you as its only cosmetics. Some of the problems this game does have preventing me from giving it a higher score is that it is rather buggy at times and sometimes has frame rate drops. There is also no fast travel which can make running back to your ship rather tedious when you are on some of the bigger planets. One of my personal favorite features is the use of a 3d mapping system that makes finding secret areas and your way around much easier, even though most people have a problem with the map I found it refreshing. The game also has no mini map so you will be opening your map frequently until you learn each planet and some can be very confusing. The characters are very well done and the voice acting couldn't have been more perfect. If you enjoy Star Wars then do your self a favor and try this game. You wont regret it. Expand

Very unintuitive controls and clunky response. Many cheap deaths from jumping THROUGH the vine the character is supposed to grab (WTF????) Yeah, love roaming aimlessly because the holomap is useless. He's an effing Jedi: he can't SENSE where his destination is? Bad game.

Main character is uninteresting and bland. Most of the collectibles found are lightsaber parts but i never found these rewarding as you rarely ever actually see you lightsaber up close. Overall not terrible had a decent time playing it. Im a sucker for Souls like games so thats what kept me playing till the end. Some textures look terrible. Some of the WORST level design I have ever seen. The difficulty levels are so inconsistent. JedI Knight is too easy while Jedi Master is almost impossible. The traversal is so sensitive that one slip up and it's all over. Also the checkpoint system is ridiculous. The levels are so punishing because if you die you have to start SO. FAR. BACK. So glad I didn't pay full price for this game.

An ok story game. But plagued by inconsistent combat that seems more like hit and miss than being tactical and sharp designed. It is also not so enriching, the cast is very bareboned, minimal and far from giving you any thrills as Star Wars used to deliver.
The ending was disappointing as well. Very quick to close off the game.
Also, an EA game without any MP and MT´s. That is a rarity.

To me this game sits somewhere near God of war and Uncharted 4. The souls-like combat proved to be a challenge quite often (Jedi Master difficulty) and really fun, slicing stormtroopers or killing then with their own blaster bolts. Overall a really pleasant surprise from the worlds worst publisher. What I really liked was the map design and I have seen some people complaining about it for not being intuitive. That's true, it can get very confusing especially in the beginning but you should get the hang of it with time and you really need to learn the maps to find your way around without much hassle but for me that's the point of a game. You need to learn the game and become better. I had so much fun going back to planets I already visited to discover new stuff/locations that were previously not accessible or that I didn't know of. Also the way all the different zones finally link together is very well designed.
I love the story and most of the characters. Some things could still be better in that area but overall it's very solid and it makes me look forward to potentially more Single-player Star Wars games. It is a neat addition that they add so much Star Wars lore into the game that true fans can recognize.
I have no experience in other third person combat games so I can't compare but personally I liked the mechanics. They can get a bit tricky at times but it's really been a nice experience personally. There's a steep learning curve to become really good at the game but that's exactly what I like and what many games nowadays are missing.
The World's look stunning but the graphics and the framerate on my standard PS4 can really get bad at times.
The lightsaber customization is very well done but there's still room for more. What i was missing was slightly more character customization.
Maybe some more force powers could have been implemented as other people were criticizing.
The way the game saves is probably the worst part of the game but you get the hang of it and for most parts complete the story trouble-free.
I give the game a solid 7, low 8 but I raised it to 9 due to many people ranting on it.
For it to be a 10 more things should be improved which we'll hopefully see in a new game in the not so distant future.

    4) DIFFICULTY!! Yes this is god damn main problem.
    - Easy level - bots are very stupid they stand on 1 place for 4-5 seconds like they dont see you. dont attack.. then make a weak attack and another 5 seconds without action.
    - Medium level - You suffer! Suffer even from critters bugs spiders.. they eat you alive. Bosses own you totally. 2 hits you are dead. You dont enjoy game you suffer. Suffer from input lag and 60 seconds loadings after death.
    - Hard level - you just suffer. from any thing.

So there is no medium level only "Easy boring", and "Suffer, **** settings.
    - **** camera that is always late
    - lags. I play on PS4 Pro on 1080p TV and on the first planet i see lags and framdrop.
    - Freezez! god damn thi is the first game that freezes for surrounfings to load!! 10-15 sec freezes from time to time. You must be joking right??

Im very dissapointed. I dont enjoy the game. I have to play on medium but each time there is a boss i have to switch to easy. other wise it is too boring with ordinary mobs and to frustrating to keep running to thew boss for another try and wait 60sec for load after death...

All in all, a great solid game, I think due to EA (the publisher) being so money hungry and only wanting to support "games as a service" and online games, I do not think EA have supported this game properly. If EA had invested more time and money into this game it would have been a console generation great. For me, still the best Star Wars game ever made.

Now the pros. The characters were alright. Although Cere was kind of meh in some parts. Greez was typical comic relief. My favorite was Nightsister Merrin. Wish she played a more prominent role in the game. Biggest pro: the ending. 'Nuff said.

As someone with limited time to play games, the shame of Fallen Order stems from multiple frustrations. It’s hard to fight and, worse, it’s hard to move. The game’s timing issues distracted me from both the story and the beautifully constructed worlds; I was too focused on simply staying alive. My many (many, many, many) deaths discouraged me from exploring worlds — all of them beautiful — as did the simple fact that traveling by foot (even a Jedi’s Force-enhanced feet) takes forever.
