    People like to call games the Dark Souls of whatever but Dark Souls is the Spelunker of action RPGs. With gratifying gameplay that constantly makes you stay on your toes, I'm very happy that this classic is back and it's more fully-featured than ever before.

    I'm one of the weird freaks that loved Spelunker on the NES. I used to play this one on the PS3 and I've always kept it installed all theseI'm one of the weird freaks that loved Spelunker on the NES. I used to play this one on the PS3 and I've always kept it installed all these years. Now that this one is out I'm super happy, this is one of my favorite beer games. It's fun to watch your motor skills decline over the hours and start falling in pits, bombing yourself, falling off ropes then you know you're sufficiently trashed.

    I give it a ten because they got everything right. The game physics are exact and all the new additions are awesome.

    I should add that I'm not some expert player either, I die a lot. There's so many people on the online rankings that it's obvious I'm a low-class peasant in the skill department. I think I was about 44 levels in on the PS3 version and I'm down to the 3rd area in this one. Once it clicks you can really get your groove on and keep moving down. There's been a few areas where I screwed myself and missed a key or something, but I've always been able to recover after a lot of reloading and figuring out where I need to go. So that sucks when it happens but most of the time I get that Dark Souls progression satisfaction as I keep plowing through the levels.    … Full Review »
