Sep 14, 2020Spellbreak runs well, it’s unique, and most importantly, it’s fun to play. If Proletariat Games sticks with Spellbreak and continues to improve it, it should be able to carve a long term niche in the popular battle royale genre.

Sep 11, 2020Spellbreak‘s magic systems and fun take on the battle royale genre show that with some more time and development it’s going to be something really impressive. Whether or not it has the staying power is up to time and how much its community sticks with it but already there’s a lot of potential brewing here.

Sep 8, 2020An intriguing take on the battle royale formula which swaps out soldiers and guns for wizards and spells, Spellbreak is a touch limited in its current form certainly. However, resoundingly solid fundamentals, a gorgeous art style and a promising content roadmap all come together to create a commendable and entertainingly sophisticated battle royale effort that everyone can enjoy.

Sep 8, 2020With the potential on display between its epic fights and already-present cross-play day one, it's hard not to feel optimistic about Spellbreak as long as it manages to hook players in the early-going. As a free title, there's almost no reason not to give Spellbreak a spin, and battle royale veterans might be pleasantly surprised by what they find.
-
Sep 28, 2020Spellbreak’s combat is stylish and offers a lot of flexibility. If the developer follows through on its roadmap (which promises more storytelling among other things), it could really turn into something special.
