Breathtaking graphics and stellar presentation, but beyond that, the game unfortunately feels very unpolished. Terrible difficulty curve, awful controls with tons of lost inputs and sloppy animation priority combined with a relentless difficulty (even on 'easy') and a slew of bugs, one of which I found was game-breaking and ruined my save file). Terrible difficulty curve, awful controls with tons of lost inputs and sloppy animation priority combined with a relentless difficulty (even on 'easy') and a slew of bugs, one of which I found was game-breaking and ruined my save file). It's a game that has TONS of potential and I feel that with enough patches it can be fixed, but in it's current state it's just a needlessly difficult game with poor controls and extremely slow RPG progression. It's basically not fun. I truly hope it gets fixed because there is clearly a LOT of love and care put into this game and I'd hate to see such a beautiful game wasted on terrible gameplay Expand

Puchased on switch when it come out...crashed my save file after 18 hours or gameplay.
I wait for a year and I purchase it again on ps4 thinking for sure it will be ok.....13 hours in...once again the game crashes for no reason and save game wiped out...I am not gonna start it a 3rd time...stay away from the windows 98 of the indie games

Souldiers is a solid metroidvania, built around all the typical stylistic features of the genre. However, it struggles to find a distinct identity and carries a bit of technical and gameplay problems that negatively impact the experience. The inventory management, key mapping and save system in the game affect accessibility quite strongly, and the plot itself has never great peaks of originality. Still, Souldiers remains a fun game, with good ideas in variety of builds and situations.
