    If you were hoping for Sonic Mania type improvements, prepare for a let down.

    The only reason this game got up to a 5 is because the originals were so good that they carry the entire thing. But as a "remaster" compilation, it's disappointing. Graphic quality improvements are negligible. But that's not a huge deal. What is a big deal is that the frame rate for the character animations    If you were hoping for Sonic Mania type improvements, prepare for a let down.

    The only reason this game got up to a 5 is because the originals were so good that they carry the entire thing. But as a "remaster" compilation, it's disappointing. Graphic quality improvements are negligible. But that's not a huge deal. What is a big deal is that the frame rate for the character animations are exactly the same. It's most noticible in their running start animations and when they go through loops. Compare it to Sonic Mania where everything moves buttery smooth.

    All the original music is great, but everything they replaced or changes sounds absolutely generic and awful. The music for turning into Super Sonic is a horrible polka song. The music replacing the Ice Cap zone doesn't even sound right.

    Basically if you loved the originals this might be worth your money, but objectively speaking, it's not at all worth the price point and deserves a host of criticism for negligible improvements in some areas and even stepping backwards in others.    … Expand

    a bad, overpriced collection of some of the worst sonic games. this is not worth it. mania is better.

    This game is an over priced garbage game that is a huge disappointment if you thought you were getting your money's worth. Please don't waste money on this cash grab.

    Have been Much Better Collections in the past. This is a Horrible Cash Grab that has locked Content behind a pay wall from a Collection of only four 16Bit Sonic Games from the Genesis. Took the versions of the games Created by developer Christian Whitehead and didn't credit him but that maybe for the best. They took his work, removed features, made them buggy, and just destroyed themHave been Much Better Collections in the past.     The game is good. I dont say it's perfect because of the bumb DLCs and a pair of bugs like tails AI being worse and some SFX not playing correctly. By the rest, cool gameplay, good extras, and generally a very good experience.

    Another soulless cash grab from Sega. None of the games in this collection are done any better than they were done in older collections. If anything, they are worse. More glitches and problems. The Unlockables are also worthless and not worth the trouble. Not worth the money at all. Leave it to sega to screw up a collection consisting of 30 year old games.

    Sonic Origins is a Great Game. It's packed with fun and is a really fun game to play and enjoy. Sega should however should stop making 2D games to hype up 3D games because it scares me that the 2D game overshadows the strength of 3D games and they are hiding something. Regardless, here is what are the PROS AND CONS of the game.

Sega should however should stop making 2D games to hype up 3D games because it scares me that the 2D game overshadows the strength of 3D games and they are hiding something.     A pretty mediocre collection the pales in comparison to something like Sonic Mega Collection. While it does have a decent amount of extras, it's not enough to detract from the games themselves being near identical to every other version out there. The biggest downgrade is the removal of Micheal Jackson's music.     this game was ok i liked playing the classics and extra features but it just felt like a copy of sonic mania with extra features i liked the art and unlockable music but it just felt unpolished

    I don't know what game y'all played, but I had a blast with this! My only real complaint is in sonic 1, 2, and 3. Their always seems to be a rage-zone. And that's my only complaint, I loved basically everything else about this game.

You don't need to expect Sonic Mania here, but rather a few remastered games where little things have been changed here and there. Some changes are very welcome, such as the drop and spindash in the first Sonic the Hedgehog game. However, in some parts of the games youSonic Origins is perfectly fine, it features 4 old games with some extra modes and some very nicely animated cutscenes. You don't need to expect Sonic Mania here, but rather a few remastered games where little things have been changed here and there.     Sonic Origins, as its name suggests, brings the Sonic franchise back to its good old days when we had no other concern in the whole world but to fire up our console and have some platformer fun.

    Very few changes were made from their now non-existent previous releases, so it’s high time Sega dusts off some more titles from its ‘90s library. The gorgeous cartoons in Origins give me hope, as Sega seems to be establishing some kind of Classic Sonic universe completely isolated from his modern counterpart. It’s just a shame that it’s a universe consisting of four games once again.

    I know a lot of my problems with Sonic Origins sound like nitpicks, but I adore these games and I want to see them restored and presented with joy and reverence as the masterpieces they are--not tainted with frivolous DLC that should be unlockables and lackluster presentation. Sonic Origins comes close to being the definitive classic Sonic experience, but stumbles just before the finish line.
