    This isn’t as bad as 06 or boom but still bad. The soundtrack is good, the story is good(for once), and the game has a lot of checkpoints. The game also looks pretty good. The problems though are the hero character and level design. The hero character is a low budget version of modern sonic who is less fun to play as. The levels are way to short and the game only has 30 levels. Green hillThis isn’t as bad as 06 or boom but still bad. The soundtrack is good, the story is good(for once), and the game has a lot of checkpoints. The game also looks pretty good. The problems though are the hero character and level design. The hero character is a low budget version of modern sonic who is less fun to play as. The levels are way to short and the game only has 30 levels. Green hill was remade AGAIN and so was chemical plant. The physics are horrible and I have fallen into so many bottomless pits because of it. Classic sonic has the worst physics and uninspired level design. Quick time events are pointless and are to easy. Just another mediocre sonic game with a better story. The only reason this game has good reviews is because dumb fans want a good sonic game and they cling onto whatever game happens no matter how bad it is. However, what makes the game a little bit weird are some bugs in the gameplay, rushed story, how easy it is and how short it is. Basically, it is a fun game, but it is worse than Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations.

    The gameplay itself is the same    Sonic Forces manages to be a fun game to play, with great graphics, visuals, soundtracks, and interesting concepts for the story and gameplay. However, what makes the game a little bit weird are some bugs in the gameplay, rushed story, how easy it is and how short it is. Basically, it is a fun game, but it is worse than Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations.

    The gameplay itself is the same as Sonic Generations, with Modern Sonic using the boost mechanic, and Classic Sonic having 2D levels, and this time, we get to play as our own character with weapons called wispons. It is fun to play as the three characters, however, it is difficult to control Modern Sonic in some 2D-Platforming sections, since his jump is a little bit weird and how he controls while he is in mid-air is weird as well, and at the same time, he accelerates way faster than in generations, which may cause some trouble in these 2D-Platforming sections. Classic Sonic feels a little bit "heavier" than how he was in Generations, and feels more slow. It felt so weird playing as him in his first stage, but I got used to it later. The Avatar has a problem with his speed just like Modern Sonic, but this time, in 3D sections.

    The story is interesting and has lots of good moments in it, and has lot of potential. But, what makes the story weak is how it is rushed (especially the beginning), how a lot of things get unexplained, and a few plot holes that are easily noticeable. The plot could have been better, even though it is better than the last few Sonic games since Colors.

    The game isn't hard, either. It doesn't even get to this point. All the stages in the Main Story mode are easy, and you'll probably only die a couple of times if you try to speed-run it in your first time, or if you are new to playing a Sonic-Boosting Game. The only levels in this game that try to get a little but more difficult are some Secret Stages outside the storyline, but they are short, and once you get the idea of these stages, they get easy as well. The Level Design does not help in this as well, even if there are a few stages with lots of paths.

    The game is short, as well. Most of the stages can be beat in less than a minute, or a minute, or a minute and half, if you manage to be good at playing Sonic. You'll only take a few more minutes if you want to find all the collectables (Red Rings), or if you want to be slow to not get damaged and lose your Rings. And keep in mind: There are only 30 stages in the Main Story. If you try to beat the Main Story, Shadow Storyline (which is a free DLC), and all the Secret Stages, it will only take you 3 hours and 45 minutes, at minimum. And to get all the Red Rings, S-Ranks and all achievements, it will probably take you 5 hours.

    Even with all of this in mind, you can still have a good time with Sonic Forces. Most of the soundtrack is amazing, the stages are beautiful, graphics are really good compared to the last Sonic games, and if you get used to all the weird stuff that happens in the gameplay, you can still have a good time. If you plan to buy the game, don't except something amazing or that innovates from the other Sonic Games, just except a game you can have a good time with. Modern Sonic has buggy levels and less mechanics than before, Classic Sonic has been pretty much butchered, especially with the superior Sonic Mania, The Avatar was boring to play as, Shadow played exactly the same as Sonic, Super Sonic was an invincible reskin and offered no speed bonuses, Episode Shadow wasYes, the game looks beautiful.     Sonic Forces aka Sonic Original Character Maker is trash not as bad as Sonic 06 or Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric but still not worth buying.

    a customizaçao do avatar esta otima sendo divertido de montar seu propio personagem

    Sonic Forces is one of the best games I've ever played. It's a step forward in everything. It has great graphics, nice story, Classic Sonic is back, it has car physics, and has nice gameplay and voice acting. Roger Craig Smith has never done a better acting on Sonic before. It deserves the love it gets from everyone.

    I dont see where all the hate is coming from. This game is absolutely amazing and it definitely deserves more credit. This game is as good as say sonic colours and it was very fun and Interesting to play. I am not a sonic fan and this game is great. It also has an AMAZING soundtrack.

"Sonic Forces" has been a bit strange ever since it was first announced: the first true 3D "Sonic" game since "Sonic Lost World" in 2013...has Classic AND Modern Sonic? Again? And now you can create your own character? Huh? There were a lot of questions aboutA brand-new 3D "Sonic" game has the community split in two? My, where I have seen this before? Oh, right, almost every Sonic game! "Sonic Forces" has been a bit strange ever since it was first announced: the first true 3D "Sonic" game since "Sonic Lost World" in 2013...has Classic AND Modern Sonic? Again? And now you can create your own character? Huh? There were a lot of questions about the game, with many uncertain as to whether or not it would be good, especially after the release of the excellent "Sonic Mania" earlier this year. And I can honestly say that, while this game definitely disappoints in a number of ways, I still find it to be pretty enjoyable.
    There are quite a few things to like about "Sonic Forces": for starters, it controls very well, which is something not a lot of 3D "Sonic" games can say. It's also pretty fun to play, and all-around, the game works: this isn't another "Sonic 06" where the game is buggy or hard to play: it's easy to get into and there's some fun to be had with it. The visuals are also gorgeous, the soundtrack is rockin', and there's plenty of fanservice here, what with all of the different characters from the series that appear here.
    However, that leads into one of my biggest problems with the game: that it feels like the story was just taken from fanfiction.net or another similar site, as characters from throughout the series are thrown in for no reason other than just to remind you that they exist (and to remind you that you're playing an "anniversary" title of sorts). On top of that, while the game is fun to play, it's "Sonic" for better and for worse: it feels like "Sonic Colors" and "Sonic Generations," of course, but it does nothing to really keep the series fresh after four years, and instead it takes a few steps backwards: the game itself is more streamlined, it's a bit too simple, the levels (and the game itself, for that matter) are ridiculously short, the bosses are a bit repetitive, and the 2D Sonic levels feel like they were just slapped in to remind you that "Sonic Generations" exists.
    With all of this in mind, it sounds like I really don't like this game, and that's actually not true: though extremely flawed, and nowhere near as good as it should've been, I actually had a pretty fun time with "Sonic Forces." The game will definitely not please everyone in the fanbase, but I can look past the flaws when the game itself is still quite fun and exciting, and all in all, I actually recommend that you all give it a shot because, even if you find yourself hating it, I think with a game like this, it's worth playing to see which side of the fence you sit on.

    I find the level design extremely watered down and boring, couple that with the fact that a lot of it is autopathed there really isn't anything that the level design did to wow me. same goes for the enviroments.

    Who thought it was a good idea to bring back classic sonic? Having two characters going at a quite reasonable pase (modern sonic, custom character) only to have classic sonic bring it all to a massive stand still. The humongous difference in gamplay speeds is just painfully noticeable .

    Music:
    All though the soundtracks aren't bad in any way i find them still quite lacking in a lot of areas.
    Also don't ever put a soundtrack with lyrics in a high speed platformer its gets really distracting...well for me at least.    … Expand

    I've been waiting for a modern Sonic game for PS4 for years, I've been a fan since the SEGA Genesis season, I love any game of the hedgehog, not just the classics, but Sonic Forces has been able to let me down.
    SEGA made a huge hype for such a medium game .... The three games are not so good, with the classic Sonic being the worst besides having 0 relevance.
    The stages are ridiculous,    I've been waiting for a modern Sonic game for PS4 for years, I've been a fan since the SEGA Genesis season, I love any game of the hedgehog, not just the classics, but Sonic Forces has been able to let me down.

    no character had a great highlight, the story that looked bleak was very generic, well below what I expected, plus the villain is not much.
    The soundtrack is not my favorite of the franchise but it's the plus point.

    I am a sonic fan. Since I played Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast, I was hyped a lot at this game.
    But Sonic Forces is... I dunno man. It's just my wasted childhood your looking at. Sonic Team once again making the same mistakes in 3D Sonic game ( especially Sonic 06 ) and that just sucks...

    Sonic Forces is not the worst sonic game but Sonic Forces is one of the most uncreative game of all time. Don't get me wrong, the dialogue and the voice acting seems improved a lot, the cutscenes are cinematic and the graphics are impressive, even though the graphics are worse than Generations and Unleashed. However, Sonic team is making the same mistakes over and over again, making that game is so uninspired that Sonic just FORCES you guys for giving SEGA money and of course the game is just a joke.
    Although Sonic Mania was released and it's a great game, Sonic Forces once again become one of Sonic's mediocre game. Not only than that, but it's also killing the Sonic Franchise and that's the worst moment at any cost.    … Expand

    I've been a sonic fan for a long time bur i haven't actually bought any 'new' sonic games. Before this
    i literally had all sonic games before sonic adventure 2 . But now i have this game... I really did enjoy it.

    It's Kind of Hard to say if this is the Worst Sonic game of all time
    on one hand it has Good Presentation, Fun character creation, ok music and it plays better than 06 and Ryse of Lyric.. but in the Other the game feels repetitive and it's so short...
    the Classic Sonic Stages are the ones i dreaded to go through with Bad physics and music is bad as well. The Story wants so badly to be    It's Kind of Hard to say if this is the Worst Sonic game of all time

The Story wants so badly to be a bit more serious but you don't need to! especially when at the end you decide to include a Power of Friendship **** right in the end of the game which COMPLETELY Ruins what the game was going for... and don't get me started on the Ridiculously dumb difficulty. the game has NO Challenge! i put it on Hard mode and i never ran out of lives cause it was infinite of all things and the stages were linear and straight forward with Brain Dead AI Enemies and Bosses as well..

    it's a big disappointment... but not THAT Awful. i like to play this a bit more for the Character creation which is fun, so it's just... Below Average. doesn't smell, doesn't shine... it's your decision. Overall it's not THE WORST SONIC GAME, but it's not good either    … Expand

I have no idea why, I loved modern sonic, I loved the OC, I did not, however, love classic sonic Hell I didn’t even TOLERATE classic sonic he    What happened.

    In fact the only reason it’s getting a 7 right now is because it’s the first boost game we’ve gotten in 7 years (thanks a lot Nintendo) and it’s the only boost game I can play at the moment without setting up my PC or taking out my ps3 from the closet but if there was another boost game that was on the PS4 or a remaster of generations I would give this a much lower score.

    I enjoyed this game, I played it every day I came back from uni even powering through the classic levels, we had mania it was perfect so why is he even here? Much worse may I add.

    This game feels rushed and I really wish they took their time but I feel like they wanted it to compete with odyssey which was a HORRIBLE decision if that’s what they were going. I really wish they took their time and polished this game instead of rushing it and I’m really disappointed, it looked so promising and even if I did enjoy it my heart breaks for the game because of its potential to be so much more.    … Expand

    The game is pretty good the story is ok but other than that it's good. The graphics are great the music is pretty good and the voice acting is pretty good. 9/10

    I havnt bought a sonic game since sonic adventure so its been a while. I think its a very good sonic game and i was pleased overall. My only gripe is its a little short overall and the stages in general.

The avatar creation is a cool idea but man there ain't much to do there the character's customization is very limited and you're character doesn't speak in the cutscenes he/she only grunts.     I really enjoyed this game it had everything I was looking for in a sonic game and it definitely deserves a part two I hope sega delivers.

    While it looks and sounds great on an S-rank run, regular play is messy and unsatisfying. Mania's Classic Sonic must wonder what nightmare dimension he got sucked into. [Jan 2017, p.90]

    As the latest generation of the Sonic series, Sonic Forces retains the high-speed game experience. To comply with the trend of the times, Sonic Forces reduces the difficulty, hoping to use this strategy will attract new players who have never tried this kind of game. Unfortunately, the length is not sufficient enough to satisfy players, and too much repetitive content makes this game boring.

    The efforts for modern concept of the legend came out of the way. Sonic Forces has obvious problems with the transition between two perspectives as well with the movement and speed. Only customization possibilities and several new weapons saves it from the average.
