Aug 19, 2015The original Skullgirls was a great fighting game with poor contents. Skullgirls: 2nd Encore is finally a complete game with tons of modes, characters and extras. The original gameplay is still there, fresh and funny as usual, and the cross-buy and cross-play options are simply perfect for this awesome experience.
-
Aug 7, 2015The best 2D fighter on PS4 with superb cross-buy and cross-play functionality.
-
Aug 6, 2015Skullgirls offers the necessary depth and artistic images which make it a great game. The soundtrack is fantastic as well, and the game contains a great combat system. The game really stands its ground within the fighting game genre.
-
Aug 5, 2015It hasn’t been the easiest journey for Skullgirls to the PlayStation 4, but with 2nd Encore, Lab Zero have turned in the definitive edition of a high-quality fighting game that not only has bags of character but matches it with both technical and enjoyable action.
-
Jul 29, 2015For $25, you get a fine fighting game that plays great and looks pretty amazing. Players who own the first iteration and the DLC may need to think extra hard if they really want to double dip, but fighting game fans that are looking for a flashy, complex, and fun fighting game and haven’t tried this game out yet need to pick it up.
-
Jul 11, 2015It all shapes up to the definitive, and maybe final version of one of the most beautiful, detailed, and passionately developed fighting games in recent memory.
-
Aug 4, 2015A great beat-em-up, maybe even to expand, but perfect for adrenaline and complex fights, and great for thoughtless challenges with friends.
-
Sep 29, 2015Skullgirls is an intriguing surprises in the fighting game genre, with a charming roster and a stunningly accessible tutorial.
-
Aug 30, 2015One feature I was particularly pleased to see included was support for legacy controllers.
-
Aug 6, 2015Led by a neat gameplay, more weird but still appealing characters join the bizarre world of Skullgirls. A very good investment for all VS Fighting lovers.
-
Jul 28, 2015Beautiful and over the top 2D fighting title plentiful of weird playable characters, sense of humor and a very solid gameplay.
-
Aug 5, 2015One nice try, bit definitely not the best beat'em up out there. Its lack of content and poor graphics are its downside.
-
Jul 26, 2015Skullgirls still is a very interesting fighting game fans of the 2D part of the genre should try. And if you haven't tried it yet, this version is a great opportunity.
-
Jul 14, 2015If you haven’t tried Skullgirls yet, this is this best place to start, but if you’ve already played it, there’s not much reason to switch to this version for now.
-
Aug 31, 2015Skullgirls stands out because of its insane character designs and dito move sets. Beneath this shiny layer of craziness, however, it's nothing more than one more thumb-twisting 2D fighter that doesn't quite make it to the level of its colleagues.
-
Aug 4, 2015A funny fighting game with the option of a drunk announcer.
-
Aug 6, 2015Skullgirls remains a fine fighter with finesse and an interesting solution to excessive imbalance.
-
Jul 16, 2015It’s brutish welcome is certain to dissuade many newcomers with unrelenting AI and unnecessarily obscure move lists, but those that make it past the opening trials will be rewarded with one of the most unique and charming 2D fighters in a long time.
