Jun 5, 2020Overall, Skelattack is a solid game that will put you to the test as much as it will mesmerize you with story and visuals. It might be a bit much for some, but the story makes the journey worth the trouble.
-
Jun 3, 2020Skelattack is a fantastic platformer with a real sense of character and gorgeous aesthetics. Blending cutesy graphics with challenging platforming and some strategic boss fights, it manages to really stand out and deserves to do well. Here’s hoping for more adventures with Skully and Imber in the future.

Jun 2, 2020Skelattack is an indie platformer filled with charm, thrusting you into a beautifully designed world. It's punishing and frustrating, yet it always gives you the tools to plot your success.
-
Jun 15, 2020Skelattack is a challenging and sprawling platformer set in the underworld that aims to please both fans of adventure games and platformers.
-
Jun 2, 2020Skelattack represents a good first test for Ukasa developers: there are still some problems due to the inexperience of the team to be fixed, but overall it is a good platform/adventure game.
-
Jun 4, 2020A fun action platformer with plenty of charm and some great visuals, that’s only let down by an uneven difficulty level that seems unsure exactly how hard it wants to be.
-
Jun 2, 2020As with the rest of the game, outside of the more focused platform sequences, I was boosted through by the breezy mood more than anything else. Skelattack is a masterpiece in the art of the pleasant.
-
Jun 11, 2020A platform with touches of action that is satisfied with the provider for several hours and does not aspire to something else. He knows how to keep up, but as he progresses, elements that could take more time are seen, and the workers more on them, the end result could be very different.
-
Jun 2, 2020Skelattack is a fairly original action platformer, but also a roguelite with too many problems.
-
Jun 2, 2020With a lovely cast of characters and a gorgeous art style, fans of challenging 2D platformers will surely love Skellatack. It's a shame that because of some design flaws the challenge sometimes becomes frustration. Otherwise, you can clearly see there's a lot of potential here.
-
Jun 2, 2020Good art direction and funny dialogues are not enough to be an overall good experience, and Skelattack suffers too much from difficulty peakes and inaccurate controls. Worth if you are an action platformer fan, anyway.
-
Jun 2, 2020Skelattack is an enjoyable game, but it doesn’t do anything particularly well. It feels like one of the first indie games that came out on XBLA, so if you’re after that simplistic but satisfying experience, make sure you check it out.
-
Jun 30, 2020Skelattack is a great-looking, albeit completely frustrating game that will surely delight and infuriate folks. Even though I tossed my controller aside more than once in my playthrough, I can’t help but feel the allure to try again. I know I’m going to grunt and moan the entire time, but the look and lore of this game are too much to ignore despite my complaints.

Playstation Official Magazine UKJun 26, 2020This adventure balances its challenge and gameplay variety well against its short length. Ultimately it’s not as layered as indie darling Hollow Knight but it’s a worthwhile play while you wait for Silksong.[Issue#177, p.156]

Jun 5, 2020Skelattack offers an evening of fun, with ample lashings of frustration along the way.
-
Jun 5, 2020Skelattack doesn’t know what it wants to be but despite this I did end up getting just a little more enjoyment than aggravation out of it. There were two areas I simply got through rather than explored, because they just weren’t worth the annoyance, but for the most part the story and characters carried it along. It didn’t hurt that the game is short, and I beat the whole thing in a single four-hour sitting, which meant that when any one section was in danger of wearing out its welcome another was coming right along to replace it.

Jun 24, 2020Skelattack is a game of exceptional mediocrity, a frustrating adventure with an identity crisis and a balance problem. It screams potential that it never even comes close to reaching as it draws obvious inspiration from numerous places, but fails to capture the charm and intention behind those progenitors. Its story and art is its strongest aspects, but the stagnant gameplay drags down what could have otherwise been a pretty good concept. There’s a core of a good idea here, but like it’s lead character, there’s simply no meat on these bones.
-
Jun 12, 2020Skelattack moves quickly toward its conclusion, with the adventure to stave off the invasion winding down in about four hours. There's nothing wrong with short games that can be played in an afternoon or two, but what's here never becomes a fully realized experience. The length wouldn't be a problem if Skelattack delivered a fully realized experience, but it fails to do so. Skelattack has flashes of excitement and delight, and there's no denying that it feels good in motion, but lackluster level design and inconsequential combat let its sound platforming down. Unlike the inhabitants of Aftervale, Skelattack lacks soul.
-
Jun 2, 2020Perennial frustration, many, too many questionable design choices, and the lack of localization make it really difficult to recommend it even to the most hardcore fans of the genre.
-
Jun 2, 2020Skelattack is a game with good ideas but poor execiution. The mechanics are flawed and originality doesn't exist. However, the art saves the dishes a bit and offers some charisma.
