    This is definitely a step up from the first one. The game has enjoyable combat with an over the top comedic style to everything. The story is alright, and the graphics are pretty decent. Not much to talk about, it's solid all around.

    With the success of SW1 the sequel goes even bigger and better. The combat is so fun, exciting and fast. The game is laugh out loud funny as well. And it not being a full priced game there is no question not to get it.

    Despite improved gunplay and traversal Shadow Warrior 2 lacks what made the original and the remake special. Rather then linear but detailed and polished levels and progression SW2 is instead a poorly optimised looter shooter with boring levels, forgettable characters and none of the charm the remake brought. This has nothing to offer to fans of the old game or the remake style of FPS butDespite improved gunplay and traversal Shadow Warrior 2 lacks what made the original and the remake special.     I expected more from this game. I beat it on co-op with my friend,and it was ok. Levels are usually the same thing over and over - Go there, kill the enemies, take that artifact, go back, take another mission, take the artifact and rinse and repeat. The jokes and voice acting are good, the game has unnecesary too much weapon and character upgrades. Too much artifacts,perks and everythingI expected more from this game. I beat it on co-op with my friend,and it was ok. Levels are usually the same thing over and over - Go there, kill the enemies, take that artifact, go back, take another mission, take the artifact and rinse and repeat.     Прошел Shadow Warrior 2 уже давно, но решил написать сейчас.
    Честно говоря немного разочарован. После прохождения Shadow Warrior в 2015 году, очень ждал продолжения и вот.
    Игра такой 100% сиквел. Теперь в игре хренова уйма оружия, его можно находить, продавать, покупать. Ещё появилась куча всяких прокачек. Качается почти всё. Структура игры стала не линейной. Уровни можно проходить и    Прошел Shadow Warrior 2 уже давно, но решил написать сейчас.

    Игра стала более динамичной.
    Вот по сути и всё, что отличает её от приквела, если так можно сказать, в лучшую сторону.
    Теперь о том, что лично меня разочаровало.
    Боссы в игре стали менее эпичными, в некоторых уровнях их нет вовсе.
    Сюжет скукожился до уровня Doom 2. Если в приквеле это было чуть ли не спасение мира, то здесь наш протагонист превратился реально в наёмника.
    Картинка не изменилась почти совсем. Уровни стали более однообразные. Эта распиаренная система случайной генерации дизайна уровней работает так себе. Уровни просто склеиваются из заготовленных ранее кусков. Поэтому части разных карт иногда очень похожи. И хотя во второй части уровней в разы больше чем в оригинале, выглядит она более однообразно.
    В игре стало больше разговоров и диалогов, а вот субтитры здесь какие то реактивные, не успеваешь прочесть. Очень не хватает озвучки.
    Так, Shadow Warrior 2 как будто хочет вдохнуть в серию свежих идей, их много, они иногда очень интересные, но авторам не хватает опыта, что ли. Очень надеюсь, что в Shadow Warrior 3 исправят все детские болячки и игра наконец станет такой какой её и задумали новые авторы.    … Expand

    A middling FPS with large levels and a strong melee component. I was originally going to rate this higher because there's stuff here I like. Shadow Warrior 2 has one of the strongest progression systems I've seen in an FPS game. I love the xp system where you put skill point into various perks that you discover throughout the game by completing quests and killing optional bosses. I love the xp system where you put skill point into various perks that you discover throughout the game by completing quests and killing optional bosses. It reminds me of the alternative advancement systems in some MMOs, because you have a virtually endless amount of skills to improve on your character. You can also collect harder to find orbs that can be used to improve your weapons. This too is almost limitless as it would take an enormous amount of playing to max out your preferred weapons.

    Overall SW2 is an engaging mix of hacking and shooting with enormously varied armaments, although I came to just prefer swinging a sword. The reason I'm not rating it higher is because A ) The story and characters aren't that great. The original Shadow Warrior's wonderful one-liners have been replaced with self-aware and overwrought exposition that tries to be funny but lands with a thud. The dialog just doesn't work imo. B ) The game is messy and poorly balanced. It's a contest to see who can pull out the most overpowered abilities and deal absurd amounts of damage or get gibbed. it doesn't have the finely-tuned give and take of excellent shooters like the new Doom. It's a fun enough time, but I felt no desire to return to it once the main quest was finished.    … Expand

    Yes, the graphics are a HUGE step up from the previous game. However, this story is terribly disjointed & difficult to follow. When you do FINALLY get it n the story trail, it's not worth following. The storyline remains unresolved from game 1. The enemy roster is very small, & becomes uninteresting & highly repetitive. No reason to revisit this.

    The swift gunplay is upgraded with some basic RPG features, but the repetitive quest hunt structure slows down the fun. This Wang needed a virtual Viagra to impress. [July 2016, p.84]

    If you didn't get a chance to play it on PC last year, Shadow Warrior 2 on consoles is still worth your time, but this version is not on par with the PC one, with halved framerate, no HDR and no new content.
