This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Game is very disappointing. Needs to be longer it feels like I’m playing a demo. Barley any combat which is sad. I honestly expected more from the game due to the trailer. But I will say the environments are very detailed and nice looking. Out of the little combat that is there it’s some pretty decent sword play that makes me feel immersed. Also some more bosses and levels would be nice and fix the loading screens cause they are unbearably long most times like instead of several load screens maybe have one big one that leads to one big level where you could open a door leading to the next part of the game. This low-budget title has been able to conquer our sympathies with a staggering and unexpected level of environmental interaction, which during the campaign has therefore encouraged us to examine carefully every single element crossed along the path towards the final battle.

Brief though it is, Shadow Legend VR is stuffed with an amount of joy and enthusiasm many games can only dream of. It’s a hell of a knight. [Issue#172, p.93]

Shadow Legend VR is most certainly one of those 50/50 VR titles with both recommendable and questionable elements. Why wasn’t there more crafting elements to make better weapons? Or why didn’t the swords become blunt over time, necessitating the use of the grinding wheels? Shadow Legend VR isn’t a bad VR title by any means, it looks good and offers a fun few hours but it could’ve been so much more.
