    For me Rocket League is the best surprise of 2015! It's one of those games you will play thinking ''meh must be good to spend some time'' but it's much more! The game is very good, fun and addictive, and the only thing that matters in the gameplay is your own skill

    This game blew me away, been gaming since 25 years and this game just brings me way back to what games used to be, simple to learn but hard to master. With a modern touch, nice graphics, fast matchmaking and tons of customizations. It is truly addictive. I highly recommend it even if you don't like cars or football you will like this game :)

    Very addictive game! It very hard to do anything with the ball at first, but the progression curve is pretty steep. The season (campaign) and exhibition options are good features if you prefer to play offline. Online matchmaking is fast.

    Simplistic in design, yet phenomenally well executed as an addictive and incredibly fun sports game. It may be simple and small, but it may well be one of, if not the, best games ever to come to the Playstation 4. If you have not tried this game out yet, I recommend that you do. Once you get used to the mechanics of the game and understand the fundamentals, you will not be disappointed.Simplistic in design, yet phenomenally well executed as an addictive and incredibly fun sports game. It may be simple and small, but it may well be one of, if not the, best games ever to come to the Playstation 4. If you have not tried this game out yet, I recommend that you do. Once you get used to the mechanics of the game and understand the fundamentals, you will not be disappointed. Also, there are tournaments ever week and you can win prizes and money.     People who dislike this game, must dislike playing games. I have played this game everyday for the past 3 months and yet have found myself bored. It's amazing how you can play so much, and still want to play some more. Very good and addicting game. Thanks Psyonix.

    This game is pure fun, I've been waiting for such an entertainment for years, being able to play an almost infinite amount of hours and knowing that the limit are youself so you can improve indefinitely, it's just mind blowing.

    The graphics are very good, better than expected to run at solid 60 fps on ps4 and on my GTX 750 ti, they don't move a single fps down

    The multiplayer experience is great, and being able to play up to four players on the same machine is simply amazing.

    All I can say is that this game is a must buy, listed at 19,99$/19,99€ but worth more than most AAAs.

    Finally, I'd like to mention that the dev team makes us (the playerbase) feel like they're really caring about us, they've been commenting everything they've been doing to solve the server problems on the launch, worked 24 hours straight to solve them, further more, they've been answering pretty much every question about anything on the game, if I'm writing this review today, is because they've delivered a product of the finest quality at the lowest price and on the best conditions. The only thing I need to keep playing this for years is that they don't change.

    Easily one of my favourite games as of right now. From the crisp bright colours to the clean tight controls, everything about this game feels polished (except for their servers right now hehe). wonderful game overall!

    You can tell the developers actually care. Not only is it a great game but its free on PSN+! I can't wait for them to release some kind of DLC so I can actually support them.

    Rocket League aka Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars 2 (SARPBC 2) is essentially a really good re-make of the first SARPBC which was my "go to" game for around 5 years!!!! They have kept true to their original design concept = Awesome.

    I would say it is essentially the same game but with improvements across the board. The graphics are more detailed, the Physics and realism    Rocket League aka Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars 2 (SARPBC 2) is essentially a really good re-make of the first SARPBC which was my "go to" game for around 5 years!!!!     I would say it is essentially the same game but with improvements across the board. The graphics are more detailed, the Physics and realism of the game play are true to the original. The Arena's are all similar in shape to the most popular pitch in SARPBC (Urban) but they do vary in weather conditions and have both day & night play. I have heard they are developing additional Arena's of different shapes which is cool.

    The matchmaking system wants to match you to similar skilled players, whereas in the original you could be matched against the best players and get spanked :( or against noobs and spank them = boring.
    So now with similar skilled players there is always the competitive edge that makes you want to do better and have "JUST ONE MORE GAME !!!!"

    There were several different cars in SARPBC with only 4 different paint jobs for each car. Now there are a staggering amount of customisations available from different wheel trims to HATS and even more cars to choose from !!!! So you can have the coolest looking car on the pitch.

    Offline mode previously allowed you some skills training to learn the ropes and this is much the same now with Rocket League. However now you can try your skills against the bots in either Exhibition maps or Season Mode. Having completed 2 seasons (9 weeks & 18 weeks) it is very compelling and challenging. Yes the Bots make silly mistakes but in my experience playing SARPBC so do a lot of players. With the overwhelming success of Rocket League I feel confident that Pysonix will be improving Bot skills making it even more challenging.

    Overall I'm very impressed with Rocket League. In SARPBC it took me a couple of games to grips with the basics, several hours to get to a decent level and having played at least 10 hours a week for 5 years of SARPBC I was still learning how to score that FreeStyle Aerial Goal!!!

    Wow. I played Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars on the ps3, and it was the hidden gem. So glad they made a sequel that is much more popular! The game is one of the most addictive games I have ever played.

    This game is so smooth and wonderful looking. The visual FX. I downloaded last night and planned on playing one game before I went to bed (it was already late) 18 matches later and I can officially say I am hooked! Great game. Great Visuals. Great Sound. Lots of customization options. OVERALL AMAZING GAME!!

I love the feeling of knowing you hit the perfect shot, and knowing its your fault if you miss a block. My first goal was an own goal... a few matches later, I scored 3 in a row.

    The game is great as is, with my only complaint being that there is no arena variety. It would have been great to at least include one larger arena for the chaos (4v4) mode. I can't really complain though as the game runs like a dream, has a small file size, gorgeous visuals, and plenty to unlock.. AND IT WAS FREE. So refreshing in today's gaming world. I would have happily paid $50 for the fun I'm having, and will continue to support the developer.

    My biggest hope is that this game really takes off and gets support so we can get a true AAA title that everyone is excited for. The games is great in its simplicity but also has so much room to grow and develop that I'm excited for the day when Rocket League tournaments are widely publicized.

    The most addictive and entertaining game you will play on a ps4. The games are the perfect length and the action is engaging. Easy game to learn but difficult to master - welcoming to beginners but always room to improve your game. Hands down the most all around FUN game available for the console. The bots are more intelligent and challenging than the previous title.

    The only problem at PS4 is the anti aliasing. The graphics and gameplay are good, the game need a good time playing to the player become a master.

    One of the most fun games in a long time. It's very easy to get into it, there's no entry barrier. Just start it up and have fun. At the same time, mastering it is another story. If you just want to have a good time, you won't regret this.

    Super addictive and super accessible to new players. The physics based controlling of cars to perform acrobatic stunts in an attempt to out maneuver the opponent and score makes this game super fun to play.

    Rocket League is the funnest game I have played in a long time, possibly all time. Online is really were this game excels. However, there are still plenty of offline modes. I would highly recommend this game.

The game is very simple (hit the ball into the other team's goal, there are no other rules) and the controls are easy to learn. The driving feels good. It's easy to get started but there's plenty of room to improve your skills, you can do some crazy stuff if you're good enough. TheI don't particularly care for soccer or racing, either in real life or in games. Yet I love Rocket League. The game is focused on online multiplayer, but the single player is also well developed (exhibition matches and seasons against bots of adjustable difficulty and number). There's a good amount of customization. The soundtrack is great. And it's free if you're a PS+ subscriber.

    I hate soccer and I hate racing/car games (and I'm not even a fan of most multiplayer games) BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE FUNNEST GAMES EVER. Exquisite controls, incredible enjoyment, ridiculous replayability. They have a masterpiece on their hands.

    This game is basically perfect. Great graphics, surprisingly deep gameplay, strong developer support and generosity and tons of action. Play couch coop, online or exhibitions versus the AI. They're all fun as hell

    This is what video games are supposed to be. Fun, creative and simple yet ridiculous. The only complaints i have are that there is no drifting, no split screen and the AI is bad with own-goals. The gameplay is something that is very reminiscent of the first 2 twisted metal games back on ps1. No wonder sweet tooth makes a cameo.

    Genuinely the most fun I've had in a long long time. The gameplay is simple but fantastic, it's a very well executed game that has already delivered hours of enjoyment, and it'll only get better as more people join the online community.

Not even heard anything about this game jet it is extremly fun and has a great Idea for gameplay. This game is included with PS Plus and that is cool. This game is pure joy! I would recommend this game for anybody, but in my opinion it is to expensive without plus or for PC.     After first only watching a friend play the beta for Rocket League, I felt underwhelmed. Now that developer Psyonix has released the full version of Rocket League on Playstation 4 and PC, I have to admit I had the wrong impression. This game is addicting and fun as hell.
    Rocket League in its simplest form is soccer with cars. It’s the way that it’s done that makes this game truly special. It’s an addicting combination of simplicity and competition. The player drops into a game size of 1vs1 to up to 4vs4 in one of 11 fully customizable vehicles. An oversized ball is placed in the middle and hell breaks loose as rocket powered cars try to send it in the goal using their bodies as paddles.
    Rocket League consists of ranked and unranked online playlists, an offline exhibition mode capable of split screen and bots, as well as a season mode similar to what you’d find in a Madden game. There are currently 4 main stages with 3 weather variants making a total of 7 cosmetically different stages. New stages will most likely be added in the future and Psyonix has stated that they’ll be free. Vehicle customization is also pleasantly deep. Changes can be made to paint, decals, wheels, and even rocket trails. Progression isn’t plagued by complicated challenges; instead the player is rewarded with items for just playing the game.
    Rocket League maintains a next-gen appearance with awesome lighting and a cool art style. Everything looks awesome running in 60fps on both PC and PS4. The only framerate drop I encountered was at the start of a match when vehicles were still loading. Despite some day 1 server issues, Rocket League seems very polished. This may partly be due to 2 very successful betas the developer decided to do.
    The gameplay is where this game truly shines. There is a lot of satisfaction in knocking around a ball with rocket boosted cars. Controls are on point and everything feels very responsive. Psyonix has previously developed the game Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars, so the gameplay is something we’ve seen before. However, as far as the current generation of consoles, Rocket League stands alone as a competitive mini sports game.
    I find myself starting up Rocket League on my Playstation 4 all the time, with how easy it is to drop in and have fun. I did find that searching for an online match sometimes took upwards of 2 minutes. This is something I expect to get better with patches and as time goes on, but it does get tedious when you are looking to jump right in. They do allow you to use the menu and your garage while searching for a match though which is a nice touch.
    Another unexpected area of excellence in Rocket League is the soundtrack. The game features an electronic soundtrack by artists Mike Ault and Hollywood Principle that fits perfect.
    Rocket League is a great new platform for competitive gaming and offers a ton of fun per dollar. It’s worth its $20 price tag, and if you’re a current subscriber of PlayStation Plus it’s a no brainer being the free game of July.    … Expand

    This is one of the funnest games I have personally played in years! Whether you wanna go 1v1 2v2 3v3 or chaotic 4v4 you will have so much fun playing this game! and with a wide range of unlocks in game, a wide range of cars, paint jobs, tires or flags and much more too unlock randomly after every match you play grantees long lasting fun for you or you and your friends!

    I bought the limited edition Batman PS4…that game never got installed. I call it my rocket League box. Fast paced, great music, fun to play with your friends.

    I've beta'd this game....hands down the most fun I've had with either cars or soccer. Great fun either online or just with friends. It's simple, but can also be complicated trying to make certain goals....best part is if you have ps+ ....it's free!

    This game is just pure genuine fun! I honestly think that this game will have a future within the top ranks of Twitch, as it has a lot of stream potential. Not to mention this game is currently FREE for PS Plus users... and well, you need PS Plus to play it so, technically, it's free for anyone who can play it (on Playstation anyways.)     If I don't use 10 now, I won't ever use it. The most fun I've had playing with friends in the last two generations of console. It's simple to get into and understand, but the sky is the limit with how good you can get.

    I have not so much fun with a multiplayer game since Modern Warfare 2. The feel of the cars is really good and intuitive. Setting up an attack and scoring is really satisfying. Servers are a bit of a mess atm, but once that is fixed this is the best multiplayer game on the PS4 right now.

The graphics in this game are stunning as each blade of grass can be distinguished and the paint on the cars really shines and makes it look realistic whilst still keeping a sort of cartoonish feel. There are a small amount of stadiums but enough variations of sizes and weathers to make each game feel different with gloomy and dull stadiums to huge brightly coloured stadiums which are amazingly appealing to the eyes. The amount of customization the game adds to the vehicles is phenomenal as there are literally thousands of different combinations to add to your vehicle and it always feels rewarding to unlock more hats and antennas to try out to keep your vehicle personalized to your own liking.

    The sound design is done beautifully as you really feel the speed of the vehicles and the sounds made when using boost feels realistic and adds to the sense of speed even if you have chosen a ridiculous rocket trail of which there are many and you may find this game is surprisingly funny in many aspects. The chanting and sounds of the crowd make the stadium feel alive and as if you were participating in a real sports league being chanted by fans right down to the final 10 second countdown where the crowd will chant with the numbers to add to the sense of excitement and tension.

    Finally and most importantly is the gameplay. The game plays exactly how it should with physics that are not too floaty whilst making your car feel like it has weight. The controls work perfectly and even if they are not to your personal liking they are easily changed as they are fully rebindable. Every match is always different whether it is online or offline as the AI feel like real people and the difficulties are programmed perfectly to give you a walk in the park or a real challenge. The servers were a little bit unstable as they were down for the first few days of release but as of this review they are working perfectly and it is easy to find a working server in a matter of seconds. The gameplay is very easy to get the hang of and it only took me a couple of games to be caught in the groove and the more you play the more you will learn what strategies to use and where the best points are to take shots or save them. Goals always feel extremely satisfying especially if the chances seemed low and I found myself shouting "YES" at the screen often as if I was watching a real sporting event which made me all the more excited. After each match you unlock some kind of item and I assume it is random what you are given but I have noticed that the items are usually better if you win which gives you all the more reason to push towards victory.

    Overall this is an utterly fantastic party game that can be enjoyed alone or with friends by anyone, even those who do not play video games often. I feel some people may find this game repetitive after long periods of play but there is never a dull moment when playing Rocket League and if you are going to buy any game this year it should probably be this one.    … Expand

    Best game I've ever played since the next generation. It's very easy to play, but extremely hard to master. Go watch the videos of Kronovi, the best player in the world and you will realize the height of the skill ceiling of this game. It's unbelievable.

Most people are decent and I've only ever got one negative message after a game, most will congratulate you if you score a great goal.

    The controls are fluent and work well, car designs are cool and can be customised. Levelling up works well and gives you a reason to keep playing. Online it works well, now and then there is lag which is frustrating but 90% of games I've played have been absolutely fine.

    This game is rad. Its beauty is in its simplicity. It's basic enough to be accessible to a beginner, but the physics allow for some pretty spectacular plays by the more experienced. The gameplay is just so much fun.

    It really brings out the competitive spirit. If you don't get a goal right, it makes you try harder. When you see people getting goals while flying, it makes you want to soar too. If you're tired of the yearly FIFA, this will rejuvenate your soccer interest.

    Simple to learn, yet difficult to master does not even begin to explain what a master can and will be able to do with a solid teammate in Rocket League. Matches are so captivating and scream out loud fun when close to the wire, I do not understand how anybody can put this game down without the desire to at least try and learn to play it at the top tier.

    The ai however can occasionally do more harm than good, hitting the ball in the wrong net, and overly just not aggressive enough when it comes to taking shots to be all too helpful
    I understand that this is to prevent ai teams from being over powered, but when youre the one stuck with the ai team, it can be a little frustrating.
    Match making is great though, even if you have a crappy connection, matches are a breeze to get into
    if you find yourself getting your but handed to you, there is a training mode to teach you have to effectively use your boosts and tricks, and how to effectively make shots and block shots as a goalie.
    The game features 11 cars and thousands of combinations to make your rocket car yours
    however I find it highly annoying that you cant customize each car individually.
    your settings carry over to each car, which sucks considering each cars style is different and has its own personality.
    it sucks having to go in and change things every time you want to drive a new car.
    Also good or bad depending how you look on it, all cars handle the same.
    there are no perks to use to your advantage.
    everybody goes into each match steroid free.
    A very even playing field.
    There a few minor annoyances such as ai and a few pretty big annoyances such as party creation not always working and customization not sticking to individual cars.
    but overall Rocket League is a really fun and addictive game to play both online or at home with a friend

    This is an amazingly incredible multiplayer experience that is only heightened when played with friends, although you can get enjoyment from queuing solo or playing against bots in the season mode. If you are on the fence, or just need something to tell your friends to get them to try it too, I have four words for you: Rocket Powered Soccer Car.

    Football/Soccer with cars? Count me in! So many tricks to do and ways to play, it's very easy to pick up and incredibly addictive!

    Car customization is decent, you can make your car look pretty stylish, quite edgy, or very goofy.

    I find the fact that the cars look like toys very charming, it gives the game its own personal art-style in a very creative way.

    Final Rating: "Great" ~ 8/10.

    I can't put this game down. It's my go-to when I turn on the PS4. A little tricky to pickup at first but hundreds of hours later I'm still at it and only getting better. This isn't done with earning fancy perks or tricks, it's done with endlessly tweaking your game style and learning more about the tiniest nuances of its game play.

It's fun and very competitive, easy to pick up and enjoy, but hard to master, fast-paced but also requires team work.. etc. I don't even like soccer, but soccer with cars? closest thing to a soccer game I'll ever play/watch, and it is well worth the admission fee.

    Simplistic visceral fun. Soccer with cars!! There is little depth beyond using angles and timing your jump (to hit the ball) with the bounce of the ball but damn it is the most purely fun game I have played all year. I would equate it to something like Super Smash Bros in that it is easy to pick up and play, there is a lot of room to increase your skill, and it's just incredible fun.

The devs obviously put a lot of care into the making of this game, but they weren't anticipating it being one of the major hits of 2015. That being said they couldn't have dreamed that the servers would get the traffic that they did. Obviously they could've been "better safe than sorry" and made sure they could handle the traffic but even then it doesn't always work out for everyone. My time with this game so far has been some of the most fun I've ever had in a game. This is the Mario Kart killer right here and I **** love Mario Kart 8.… Expand

It's actually depressing how that is a highlight in this age of gaming, but there ya go.

    More recently they launched a new series of game modes, with some taken from the first battle cars game, that really added a sufficient amount of variety to the game and is heavily utilized by the player base. The only downside is the mode is completely random. I'm not a big fan of the low gravity mode but the big ball and cube ball modes are insanely fun.

    Yes the player base has dropped quite a bit. You won't see 50K players online at low peak times anymore and sometimes you can wait 5 minutes late at night (PST) for a 4v4 game with only 150+ players hanging out in that lobby, but going on six months of life there's still no shortage of games and no game modes that are abandoned. Probably the only downside of Rocket League is being a west coast US nocturnal player (9pm-4am PST), which unfortunately I am.

    This is easily the best $20 you will ever spend. When it goes on sale, it's an absolute steal.    … Expand

    Even for people like me who don't normally play sports, or racing games, this is a perfect combination of both. Football with little cars basically, but it's just FUN. Pure joy from the most important thing in games - the actual gameplay. It's fluid, well-produced, still entertaining even after months of playing... I love Rocket League. 9/10

    Rocket League is a fun game to play with friends. My best friend described it best: "an emotional rollercoaster at every turn." It's a game with depth and longevity, which will save its sometimes shallow gameplay.

    A exceedingly fun game with a great amount of customization. The game could use a few more games modes instead of just the one but it till serves to be fun enough. I have had connection issues online on the PS4 but not on the PC version. Worth a pick up but more content should be added so it doesn't become stale soon.

    I am a massive fan of the original on PS3 and I was not disappointed by Rocket League in the slightest. Rocket League has moved away from the gimmicky side of SARPBC and is more about the sport side, which is fine by me but I'd like to see some DLC in the future that tips the cap to some of the crazy arenas we saw in SARPBC.     this game is amazing, incredible, very, very fun.impossible not to have fun.
    the multiplayer is unstable, easy to find a quick match, the customization is good, forming teams works well, and perfect gameplay, the physical work very realistically, especially the ball

    I'm going to be honest here and say that I thought this game would be crap, but considering it was free on PS+ I thought that I might as well give it a try and boy am I glad I did. Its just so addictive, after you get the hang of the controls you fall in love with the game. Will definitely buy the sequel if it comes out

    I wish I thought of this game... it's pure genius. The game is easy to play and hard to master. It takes a lot of skill and practice and if you have buddies who also play, the matches are really fun and challenging. The aesthetics are also very nice and people can definitely have their own style on their cars.

    The best PS plus game so far, i really love this game, it may look a bit silly on the face of it but its very competetive and can get very tense. Its free on PS Plus you have no reason to not download it

    At first glance Rocket League may look like Soccer,Hockey and RC Cars had a Video Game child but once you play even one round you realize how balanced,competive and additively fun the game is. There is also a Season mode witch is closer to a story mode type mode you'd find in FIFA or NHL games, but is great for practicing and getting the hang of this one of a kind game. The addition on Split Screen is also amazing, far to many games now a days are leaving out that option all together and Rocket League gives you the option to play with 4 people on one screen. Rocket League has 2v2s, 3v3s,4v4s and even 1v1s to play around in, 4v4s feel very hectic but are extremely fun, where the 2v2/3v3 feel bit more serious and playable 1v1 is fun for you and a friend but can feel quite slow at times.     There are 3 different ranked modes, 4 normal game modes, each mode is a different amount of players. 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2... a.s.o.

    What makes this game feel so great? The outstanding atmosphere is to be mentioned first, nice stadiums in day/afternoon/night light, customizable cars and car types which differ each but are perfectly balanced in strengths and weaknesses. Also while the game is UNREALISTIC, it's PLAUSIBLE. The way, the ball is moving after impact is predictable. Even though you hit the ball with a CAR it's more plausible than some strikes in FIFA. Props to the devs for that.

    I recommend playing with a game pad, although you can play it with a regular keyboard. Steering on a gamepad feels very precisely and compact.    … Expand

    Its impossible to play this game without a constant smile on your face. Easy to pick up and play the first time, but difficult to master. Best PS+ game I've ever got.

    The game is great and really entertaining! You can jump REALLY high with your car, it is so cool! There is no wizards, orcs, elfs or any other anoying things, so you are definatly able to focus on hitting the ball with your car. I could go on for hours. It is actually a little funny that this game make some others overpriced expansion games look like rabbit potatos. It is simple but fun.

    It could be a bit more diversified - I would love some power-ups or even weapons. Maybe some grease spots or something.     I think that' the game I was waiting for. It is just simple fun, just like good old games :)
    I will not write a lot about this game, because there is no disadvantages, for real. It is no some kind of Dark Souls, where you are dying every second and shouting: "The Best game ever! So hard!".

    Incredible game. What's not to love. Fast paced football meets racer. Controls are great, great co-op, great multiplayer and the trophies are easy to pick up if you are a trophy hunter. You'll pick up most trophies after a week of intense playing without even realising. And you won't realise because you'll just be having so much fun. If you have a PS4 buy this game

    It's a blast to play and it only gets better as skills improve over time and as the competition ramps up. It's a game that everyone, whether they’re big into sports video games or just can’t seem to get into them, will really enjoy.

    I have no problem saying that this is the best and most original sports game I have played since at least FIFA 12. It mixes all the best elements of sports and online multiplayer games into one in an affordable and seamless experience that looks awesome in YouTube videos as well.
