Aug 29, 2019This cutesy adventure feels barebones yet ideal for a fun family game and a child's introduction to hack and slash games.
-
Jun 18, 2019Riverbond is a nice voxel style game with Diablo-like combat. The game only takes a handful of hours or so to complete, but it's a good time. The lack of a story and the abrupt ending removes most of the satisfaction from completing the game.
-
Jun 11, 2019Riverbond is definitely an appealing game, especially if you want an easy breezy co-op experience to wind down with. However, the lack of both challenge and replay incentives means that you likely won't get more than a few hours of passive enjoyment out of it.
-
Jun 23, 2019At its best, Riverbond is a simple, charming dungeon crawler with good pacing. Unfortunately, the experience is short-lived with the simplistic combat lacking any real depth or challenge. Whilst there's variety in the locales, it doesn't extend to mission structure or encounters. It can be fun to thrash through an area with friends but there's little reason to return to something that feels so disposable.
-
Jun 19, 2019Riverbond is extremely repetitive. This is a shame, because the game's beautiful graphics, enjoyable characters and fun co-op mode (though only locally playable, for some reason) would've been well worth experiencing otherwise.

Jun 12, 2019Great family friendly co-op game. We had played an earlier demo at a convention about a year ago and it's finally out (PS4).
-
Oct 22, 2020It's a very cute game but also extremely simplistic, but it does show a lot of potential. 73/100
