    Yeah it’s cool. Lots of fun, creepy and scary. Not a big RE fan but I’d recommend. The first person really adds to the horror. 8/10

    i personally dont like too much horror in resident evil games, and this game definitely has alot of jumpscares unlike the other games like re2 re3 re4 but although this game still has a good storyline gameplay but i personally dont like this much horror in resident evil games so ill just give it a 8 for good gameplay and story

    The general consensus is that this game is a return to form for Resident Evil, as in it brings the creeping survival horror element back to the forefront.

    While this game is memorable and definitely a great reference point for the series going forward (hopefully they remake the original game to be more like this), I do feel like the story didn't draw me in right away because the rational part of my brain kept going "literally none of this needs to happen." But that said, once it gets going, ya get locked into it.

    The one particular complaint I want to include here is that the VR mode is better at most points, but then there are other points where I just flat-out wasn't looking at the right area for certain jump scares like I would've in non-VR and it actually confused me. That and the sound design is a little over-reactive to Ethan's footsteps; I kept thinking someone was right near me when it was literally just Ethan brushing up against some tiny object.

    Overall, great game, though. The story is more believable than most Resident Evil titles. The grittiness in the atmosphere makes the environment feel somewhat less fictional, which makes the scares from abnormal circumstances remain engaging, even when it gets ridiculous. Comes off a little bit like an homage to multiple classic horror movies, but it ties it all together organically enough to not feel like fan service. Definitely a worthwhile title for fans of horror games.    … Expand

    This was my first resident evil game and all I could remember was people hating on the first person POV. I wish I could see the dumb look on their faces when they realize how good this game is.

    A mixed bag of highs and lows. The actual game play was crap. It was slow, clumsy and glitch ridden at times. The atmosphere, story and characters generated loads of spooky creepy weird fun. RE7 looks and sound amazing and the voice actors really all shine in the roles they have, but I am here to game not to watch a movie.     After trying several different VR games the motion sickness has finally gone. Still with all that plastic and rubber on the head? Head overheat happens pretty quicky.     A terrifying, surreal experience in VR. I haven't been scared to move the controller since Silent Hill 2, so it was nice to get that feeling again.

    amazing game

    Tried it in VR lol but I felt sick jumping off the first ledge at the start.

    Played it without VR, unreal.

    Can’t imagine how brutal it is in VR.

    Bring on RE Village !

    I like resident evil formula a lot, however this game would ve worked better if had the same thing as re2 did where u can see if a room you ve explored has no more items u can get. The level design while its still mind blowing at times it isnt as well put together as sometimes i didnt know if i should keep some items or if theyre usages is gone.     Resident Evil 7, arguably the scariest modern Resident Evil and probably the least enjoyable one... but not in a bad way.
    Once again in a Resident Evil game, the story is not good but it's not an important part of the game either, no need to analyze it.
    Same goes for the characters, although the Baker family are very creepy and interesting antagonists, particularly Jack Baker, one of the    Resident Evil 7, arguably the scariest modern Resident Evil and probably the least enjoyable one... but not in a bad way.
    Once again in a Resident Evil game, the story is not good but it's not an important part of the game either, no need to analyze it.
    Same goes for the characters, although the Baker family are very creepy and interesting antagonists, particularly Jack Baker, one of the most threatening yet fun antagonists in the entire series with some of the best moments in the game.
    The gameplay is okay; everything works well, the shooting mechanics are satisfying and the survival horror elements are there, however, the movement is very slow and it gets annoying when facing the Molded; the main enemy type of the game and the only enemy type of the game, unfortunately.
    The atmosphere and the setting though, are probably my favorite parts of the game; they're haunting, terrifying and disgusting, which are backed up by very good graphics and audio design.
    As for the pacing, it's mostly consistent up until the last third of the game, where it feels dragged out, but the final boss is kinda cool.

    Pros:

    + Compelling atmosphere + Wonderful setting
    + Beautiful visuals

    Cons:
    - Poor enemy variety

    This game single-handedly saved the franchise. Bringing it back to its survival horror roots. RE7 will go down as one of the best in the franchise, as it tackled something new to Resident Evil... first person. It exceeded in a majority of areas, though the boat segment is a bit off-putting even though I kind of like it.

    Definitely a must play for all horror fanatics!

    O RE7 é o retorno triunfal da franquia. Tem o gênero de survivla horror dos primeiros e ainda acrescenta um terror, principalmente com o modo em primeira pessoa, que pode não agradar alguns, mas funciona. O puzzles, cenários e a história simples funciona perfeitamente. O jogo é bizarramente bom e desesperador em alguns momentos. Simplesmente um dos melhores da franquia.

    the formula is finally once again: low ammo, survival, some riddles (could be more and more difficult) and maybe the best setting ever. THAT is what RE should look like.    BRAVO!! as a day one fan this game is what we wanted after 1,2,3 & CV before it drifted away with 4,5 &6 and became a non horror game which were CoD like with no real survival. 7 brought the series back on it's feet!!

    My first resident evil game. immediately fell in love with the game and the resident evil franchise. This game doesn't have the same vibe as the previous one where you are a cop fighting zombies, it has a vibe of a classic horror movie where you explore a house with a **** up family. Overall good story I suggest you give this game a try!

    This is my favorite part at the moment. A new protagonist who was just a regular guy, not a cop or agent, the game play itself from the first person gave me more fear while playing it, and this whole bakers family thing. Perfection, one of my favorite games

    Great game, this is the most horror RE I've played by my opinion. I'm not very familiar with the series but I think they made it perfect for the genre. There is as much action as it needs and the environment is as dark as it should for this game. The adventure has great pace as well, and also has the right amount of challenge. I highly recommend it.

    First Resident Evil game I've played. This game was great. The setting was just so damn creepy. The gameplay was fun, puzzles were meh but the bosses were great. Going through each family member was cool af. I'd say the worst part is on the ship. Didn't like that part. But the rest of the game is great. Sure a RE game that doesn't really have zombies is weird, but I think it worked.

The antagonits are way to goofy to take them seriously (Ramon Salazar kind of goofy). The graphics are mind blowing, the sound design is superb, the Baker House and the boathouse sections are great and they feel like old Resident Evil, and Lucas' escape room felt really satisfying to figure out.     Man.. walking up to that house to the first time…. no idea what I was getting myself into. Loved the shadow puzzles and pretty much everything about this game. Looking forward to playing through again in VR. I enjoyed this one a lot more than Village (which was also pretty good.) Definitely worth a playthrough if you’re a horror fan.

Every concept you can think of from RE1 is in this game and almost feels like a reward for sticking with the series for so long.     It could be 10/10 but the charecter movement is slow and the handguns are mostly useless so fighting against enemies can be very messy regardless it's very enjoyable, has a good story, exploration and one of the best boss battles in all of re games

    After mediocre 5th and 6th part, Capcom really redeemed themselves with this one. As a long time survival horror fan, I was so delighted that Resident Evil series was finally back to their core. Resident Evil 7 became my favorite game in the series the moment I started playing it.

    I put this game off for so long because first-person view in any game normally tanks my interest by 90%. This was the first time I found it to be a benefit to immersion instead of a hindrance. The hype is real with this one.     I am so glad this game exists, it rebooted the most dead and ruined horror game franchise out there, This game was a masterful comeback not only in Resident evil but in the horror department. To this day this game is terrifying and incredibly difficult at the start making your body almost tense up at times. It deals with tension so damn well going fully into the horror department. First 10 minutes I almost crapped my pants next hour my mind left me and it felt like I was on autopilot 5 hours in wasn't too bad towards the final boss I wasn't that scared as I was annoyed final boss anti-climactic but spectical wasn't bad. Over all it deserves a 9/10 from me since it did what it set out to do, revitalize the survival horror genre and it was my first RE game that I (specifically) played… Expand

    + Engaging combat, gunplay, item management, puzzles, exploration and backtracking
    + Emergent game design; certain few scenarios vary depending on how you play
    + Good replay value
    + The DLCs are top tier

    Cons:
    - Last boss fight is underwhelming compared to the other ones

    Neutral:
    -/+ We may quibble over the lack of enemy variety in the game, but as I mentioned before, how everything (including the enemies) is presented and connected here hardly makes this a negative point in my opinion.

    RE7 bring the saga back to true horror. Claustrophobic, looney, pure madness around you from brilliantly designed characters. They keep spoiling the great work done on characters with the non-sense bulky super-monsters they become, for the boss fight... Why? They are so predictable, it doesnt make them a boss fight at all!

    Classic masterpiece. It is a legendary game that even uses the Jumpscare feature in its place and manages to scare you even when you are standing still.

    Ottimo capitolo della nuova saga.
    Bellissima la prima parte all'interno della casa, personaggi inquietanti e situazioni claustrofobiche. Adrenalina assicurata.
    Seconda parte un po' in calo.
    Longevo al punto giusto e livello di sfida ben bilanciato.
    Funziona bene anche la visuale in prima persona.

    The game has a great story but there are things that just let it completely down. Melee is practically useless other then to open boxes. In a game lacking ammo this really doesn't make a lot of sense. It takes 6 stabs to the head to kill the avarage enemy. It's extremely difficult to use as it misses all the time. Shows barely any care in serious situations and you don't get to see his face which doesn't work in a game like this. Certain parts of the game are boring and meaningless. Movement is far to slow although this was improved in re8. I didn't really enjoy spending half the game in 1 building and just constantly walking back on myself but some may feel different. The ending was quite good but I won't spoil it. Gun mechanics weren't bad. I think some weapons need small buff. The burner was terrible and dealt hardly any damage. The machine gun took like half a clip per kill.

    I hate infinite spawning enemies in any game. It's misleading and those who don't know about them could end up using countless supplies for no reason and in a game with limited resources it's a terrible idea. You could ruin your save through wasting resources for no reason. The best way to play this game is just to hardly ever kill anything unless you really need to and just run away, sometimes shoot to flinch the enemy allowing you to run past, get to a save room and they all die. Save rooms are in all areas to you never have to run far. Also enemies can't breach doors so while your running just close doors behind you. The fact you can do that in this game is just stupid to say the least. Bosses in this game are terrible and boring. They give you no feeling of accomplishment. You never know if your suppose to just shoot it or they have infinite health and you have to kill them through an objective. For example 1 boss you have to keep knocking them back every so many seconds with 1 headshot. If you didn't know this you could sit there and drain tons of ammo. In this game you always have an immortal NPC chasing you. You can't kill them until you are in a certain encounter. But it's just annoying. I didn't mind it once but when it's every level it gets old. You think you killed 1 but then another NPC is walking round. This game stretches recycling content to the max. Each boss has 3 encounters. Things are changed but it's still the same NPC. Another terrible idea is exploding loot crates. It's just a cheap way to damage the player because they can't be told apart. The only way you would know is if you knew it was there. It's a shame because the story in this game is amazing. But the gameplay is just disappointing and not thought out enough.    … Expand

Only a few negatives that honestly aren’t even that bad like the carrying system where you have to carry key items and the fact that you can’t skip cutscenes.     I overall loved it. I probably would have rated it a 9-10 if I had rated it when the game released. It unfortunately shows its age a bit, especially when compared to RE8.

    I played Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in 2018 and thought it was a great game that I loved.
    However, I dislike the unnecessary "coins" DLC microtransactions.

    Graphics: I'm playing on the PS4 Pro and I have to say they are really good, in fact scary good. Music and soundtrack: It's just creepy enough to set the mood. Though it would have been nice to have the classic save room music in at least one location as an easter egg.     Unique and chilling story. 1st person perfectly fits here. For sure one of the best horror games ive ever played. Voice acting is on point. From start to finish it never gets boring.

    Truly a terrifying and yet fun game, the tragic story of the Bakers is truly a story worth playing. The story almost feels like a puzzle at times with trying to link the dlc and the main story together. If you're looking for a good scare or two with a great story, then this is the game for you.

    Whether played in VR or not, Resident Evil 7: biohazard is a thrilling game and it shouldn’t be missed. If you have the option to play the game with a PSVR, you should by all means do so. Regardless of how you play Resident Evil 7: biohazard, just be sure that you do because it is one of 2017’s finest releases and the constant stream of DLC keeps the nightmare alive.
