    The game is so great I don't even know where to start. It affects you so much. Best rockstar game. You get so attached to the characters and the story is amazing. With 200 hours of my first playthrough, I am very excited to start a second playthrough soon. If you ever get the mere opportunity to buy the game, do it. The game should be worth 80 dollars.     DIFFICULTY: Normal
    The difficulty is fair, you need general knowledge on shooting but overall the tutorial teaches the mechanics and features pretty well, though the tutorial is basically the first short chapter.

    GRAPHICS: 10/10, Masterpiece
    This is the greatest graphics in a game I will go as far as saying, especially on PC. Whenever you are walking around to a mission, from a mission, to a point of interest, or just wandering around (which I do reccomend) you will be stunned and never be let down in the setting and environment. Makes it a blast to do 100% completion, which is basically just wandering around.

    STORY: 10/10, Masterpiece
    The characters, world, plot, I cannot describe. Simply wonderful

    SOUND/MUSIC: 10/10, I am crying
    If Rockstar failed on the music, this game would have no depth, and loose a lot of why it is a Masterpiece today. Everytime the soundtrack kicks in, I just get a feeling, a feeling that makes me feel so good and truly immerses me. Every time it plays, I feel like I am sucked into my monitor and become Arthur Morgan. Most of the parts I can't say due to spoilers (I want to make sure many people see this and buy the game), but oh my god the music is so great, one of the best reasons why this is my favorite game of all time.

    LENGTH: 40-300 Hours, its up to you
    At about 170 hours I finished my first playthrough and that was doing most of the stranger missions, entire story, exploring, and much, much more. If you are a type of person who plays story mission after story mission, compeltely ignoring the thousands of other things to do in this world, (which I heavily do not reccomend at all), then it will take 30-50 hours. But please, explore just a bit and do some stranger missions, or be like me and take your time, about an hour in between each mission.

    PRICE: Underpriced
    Most people will be mad at that, but thats only because they don't want to pay more money. I believe it should be worth a little more due to the amount of things you can do in this world. But a company wouldn't do that due to basically all AAA games being 60 dollars.

    ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
    -Gameplay seemed hard at first, but after a little bit I got used to it, wasn't confusing to me at all after
    -Extremely detailed, even places you go to for like an hour and arent even in the main map
    -There are a few times you make a desicion, but I am completely fine with that as it shows that it is the story based it game it should be

    In conclusion, this does nothing close to dissapoint, you will be stunned at the environment, very immersed in the story and times the soundtrack plays, which is extremely fitting, spend a ton of time in the game (if you finish it, which you should, and overall be getting a once in a lifetime experience.    … Expand

    So much love for detail, a very strong narrative, beautiful visuals. Despite its long runtime, i never once felt let down. If you have a bit of patience, have an eye for beautiful details and a gripping story, this one is for you

    And this game is a 10/10. It's the best game of the decade. It has everything. Maybe, just maybe a tiny bit too linear, but that's the assumption of the game. I don't mind. It allows for everything else to be absolutely perfect. The only game I've ever enjoyed as much from start to finish.

    No game has a story as good as this one, the level of immersion and detail is insane, the combat might not be perfect, but this game is just perfection to me.

    The story is sucking you into it. You start to really worry about everyone. The ending is one of the best. If you did not cry in the end you must be a heartless  human from the tax office.

I log on very often excited to play once again in this very realistic open-world game. There are many pros and cons to this game. One pro being this game is very lived-in. But one con being too much immersion. Now, don't get me wrong, immersion is great but sometimes it pushes it too far. For instance, if you want to loot dead bodies it's a 3-second animation to loot a single NPC. This is fine until you shoot a bunch of O'driscolls at a camp and decide to loot them. It takes a solid 2 and a half minutes looting a couple of bodies. Another con would be the weapons. The weapons themselves are great, but cleaning them every time you shoot something can get quite annoying. I'm quite sure there are plenty more problems with immersion, but I'm not going to list them all In this little text box. The story overall is great. But if you played the first game you pretty much know what the ending will be. The entirety of Rdr1 was about hunting down old gang members like dutch. You learn that such betrayed the gang in Rdr1 so the first ending was quite predictable. The honor system is probably the worst thing I've ever seen. You can go on a bloody murder spree in Saint-Denis and then lose all of your honor and then greet some folk on the street and regain your horrible reputation. Earning money is hard compared to GTA 5 (Another Rockstar title). So, overall it's a great game with a lot of cons to it. I'd give it a 7.… Expand

I mean there is many thing I can name in this game that is amazing but this review would be 7 paragraphs long. Anyways this game has hands down the best story in my opinion, it shows the backstory to the first red dead redemption game and it shows it WELL. It can be a serious game at times and a fun game. The story can also be a real tear jerker too especially at the end when a lot of the characters died. This game offers so much freedom in the aspect of taking care of your character/horse etc. now the online is a little different it’s not bad it just could be better, rockstar doesn’t really keep up with the updates like the do for gta 5 it’s a little hard to get money in online, but other than that game is perfect definitely urge you to buy it… Expand

    I have played this game for 100ish hours on PC and some other big number on PS4. So firstly I want to start off with the things I liked about this game. First of all, the graphics are amazing, even if you are playing on low graphics but make sure to have your texture quality on ultra otherwise the game wont look nearly as good. Secondly the story was just amazing and the character development behind every character is just amazing. The story always finds a way to surprise you and that makes it more interesting, but I would say this game isnt for you if you dont like slow paced games, but I would give it a try since I always played really fast paced games but I ended up enjoying RDR2. The game also features a really good open world that I never found my self getting bored from, since the map is big, there are a lot of side missions AND there are a bunch of animals, horses, plants and flowers you can find throughout the world so there is a lot you can do in the open world. If that wasnt enough for you, you can also go out hunting for animals for their meat and pelt or you can chase down other outlaws and bring them in for a reward. This game has an eye for attention to detail as well, which is just really impressive for a video game. For example your facial hair and hair grows throughout the game and you can shave it whenever you want. On top of that the game never lacked any customization IMO either. Although I would say there arent that many clothes you can pick from which was kind of disappointing. But you can customize your gun alot and you also have a good choice of different hair styles to choose from.

    But just like any other game it has its downsides. Firstly while playing through the game I found out that the hair in this game has some bugs. For example whenever I was in darker areas Arthurs hair would change color in an unrealistic way, and when I was in lighter areas his hair would just be too bright. I didnt see many problems in terms of bugs in the game but I did encounter a few while playing the game but nothing game-breaking.

    I would say this game is definitely worth playing and I would give it a 9,5 out of 10 because the horses are just kind of too slow for the big map so if you are going exploring it can get quite boring.    … Expand

    great story and attention to detail with graphics and some minor things that rockstar does so well like the fact that your horse's dick gets smaller in cold or every single animation has a lot of polish. Arthur Morgan is easily the best protagonist in gaming and his redemption arc is just fantastic.

    The game is amazing. The characters, guns, gameplay, and the horse mechanics are great. The gameplay is clunky because its very realistic which puts me off spending the extra time find all the collectibles. But that feel fits perfectly with this game in order to tell the story it is so to makes it seem like a real thing rather than in a video game.     For PC owners i recommend playing it on mouse/keyboard in first person perspective, using controller is unbearable. its much more easier and fun. Prepare yourself for very, very, very slow paced game.. If you can psychically take it, you gonna like this game :-)

    The world is so alive, you feel that you are a part of it. There is something happening at every corner. It is full of details, random mysteries and events that you can encounter.     The graphics are the best this generation has seen, and it is the details but also the time invested in the textures.

    Combat is made cinematic so it looks better visually, it can be a bit challenging to some players finding this mechanic weak, but for me, it was just right, as I played it with Dualshock on ps4.

    The story is one of the best ever told in story-driven gaming genre, and defiantly the best made by rockstar. You get invested in the characters and the stories they have to tell. Arthur is the best protagonist we could ask for. Let's not speak how great the pace of the story was, especially how R* chose to use chapters to tell the story, it will take me a whole novel to explain how good this game is. If you like a good story game this is defiantly the one for you. You can also choose at any time to switch from third person to first person if this is what you are looking for. A Must Buy. The only minus of the game for me was that the multiplayer was not that great, still cool but did not get me invested in it.

    I had very high expectations on this game and tbh it didn't deliver. I really don't understand why is this game so overrated.

    The Good: - Graphics are outstanding. This is by far the best looking open world game to date. - Level of detail. The world is massive, beautiful & very much alive. It is filled with content. - Story, The story is good...just good. Kind of predictable and not    I had very high expectations on this game and tbh it didn't deliver. I really don't understand why is this game so overrated.

    The Good:

    The bad:
    - Controls and mechanics. This game has the worst controls of the past generation by far. They are clunky and frustrating. They made me just want to finish the game ASAP. I'm not playing this game again.
    - Pacing. The pacing of this game is terrible. The first half of the game can get pretty boring at times. Then it get's better but meh. It just has bad pacing all along.
    - Fast Travel. You will be traveling by horse A LOT. Fast Travel is very limited and sometimes useless. You will lose a lot of time traveling from one place to another wich results in getting bored.
    - Saving. This game autosaves but if you start a mission guess what! You can't save in the middle of it. Really Rockstar? Can't save in the middle of a mission? What is this? 1991?
    - Realism. This is something I think a lot of people like and I can't see why. The game is filled with detailes and...reality. You have to cook and eat, otherwise you will lose skills. You have to hunt for food. You have to prepare coffee. Taking items is hard cause the character actually takes them. This just makes the game slower and it affects the overall pacing.
    - Secondary missions. A lot of them are pretty boring. Just go from A to B and watch cinematics with NO ACTION AT ALL. Again, bad pacing and boring.
    - Bugs. The game has some bugs. Secondary missions disappear and then appear again. Can't tell when can you access them for real. I lost some secondary missions due to this bug.

    All in all it's a good game but absolutely not the masterpiece a lot of people say it is.    … Expand

    Took me a while to play, get used to, like and then love RDR2.
    Hands down, it might be the game of the decade for me. I was not expecting such an amazing story by R*, I absolutely loved the characters and Arthur Morgan easily has become one of my all time characters.
    Everything about the game ended up feeling right.
    The first 5 hours are slow, but bear with it, it's an absolute masterpiece.

Also there's this sense of evolution in game and of things happening if you keep close to the story missions.. You can get a little side tracked if you start doing all the side missions challenges etc, but they help withOne of the best games I played on Ps4.     Red Dead Redemption 2 is a clear example of care, affection and respect for a franchise loved by fans.

    Your script is well produced and exciting, the graphics are amazing (especially for the older generation consoles).

    It is a masterpiece, without a doubt, Rockstar Games has done a beautiful job.

Because those moments do not stick in your memory as much as all the awsome setpieces, the music, the shootouts, the robberies, the horsebackriding, the bonding with your gang, the hunting, the fishing, the weather, the graphics and so much more. It fascinates me how much details are in this game. Play it, and you'll know what I mean. The graphics are grounbreaking. In 2018, it was the best looking game out there. This game deserves it's attention and all the good ratings. It is a masterpiece in every aspect. The controls can be a little clunky at some times, but that doesn't break the immersion of being a cowboy in the late 18 hundreds.

    A masterpiece, simple as. The world, the graphics, the story, the missions, everything about this game is perfect, and I don't think I need to elaborate on it, go experience it yourself. The only issue I have, is the the character movement feels slow and dated, but I think this is an issue Rockstar has in this generation.

    I played this game on PS4 and on PC... it was truly an amazing experience, probably the best one i have ever had in a video game. I'm really looking forward to play it for the 3rd time on PS5 if it gets the next gen update.

Love playing a game to do in game manual labour, and the act of playing this game feels the same. I play games to have fun, not slog through boring quest after boring task. Wish I could get a refund.

About 40% of your in game time you spend riding on a stupid horse, there are some very limited and mostly useless fast travel options. Would've raised to 8, but it only gets 7 as I wasn't able to see the last part of the professor quest, due to stupid situation when I was trying to get on coach but instead I threw random dude off his horse who was practically invisible, and after getting released from the prison, the quest never reappeared and the professor vanished.    … Expand

O mapa/mundo aberto além de enorme é vivo demais e até os npcs do jogo cada um é como se tivesse vida própria, trabalham, andam, vão pro mercado, teatro, é como se realmente vivessem suas vidas.     В 100% смерти тут происходят потому что игра кривая. Но самое раздражающее, что штрафы за смерть тут далеко не маленькие.

    Online и скрипты. Не было НИ ОДНОЙ миссии с которой бы ее возникло проблем. НИ ОДНОЙ! Я повторю, В КАЖДОЙ МИССИИ БЫЛИ ПРОБЛЕМЫ, В КАЖДОЙ!! Очень плохо прописанные скриптовые сцены в основном сюжете.
    - Пробежать перед поездом? Срабатывает скрипт, камера поворачивает, лошадь поворачивает по камере под поезд.
    - На друга напали? Я бегаю вокруг и ничего не могу сделать, ударит невозможно. Игра рассчитывает что я его убью оружием.
    - Драка в поезде? Тебе отключают инвентарь. Пока я пытался открыть инвентарь и не понимаю какого хрена, он меня порезал.
    - Миссия со снайперской винтовкой?
    Едешь на дележансе и быстрый выстрел не работает, потому что он установлен на винтовку, которую мне дали для миссии и тут же забрали.
    - Надо срочно убегать?
    Все тебе орут что нужно убегать, но игра тебе не даёт сесть на лошадь, потому что ТЫ ОБЯЗАН сначала всех перестрелять.
    - то кто-то из нпс неожиданно умирает
    - то миссия провалена и мне говорят, что телега повреждена. Телега которая стоит в 150 метрах и никак не участвует в перестрелке.

    Это охота? Серьезно? Ещё немного и все эти огромные толпы животных, начнут шить мне платье на бал с принцем.

    Квикивенты? Мы что в 2009 году?

    Тут выйти из меню на F , тут на Esc, а тут на F крафтить, тут все продать. Тут взять на F, тут взять на R.
    Выход должен быть на одну кнопку, действие на другую, все остальное как получится. Так это должно быть.    … Expand

    Gameplay - muito boa, mas em certas partes chega a ser lento por ter a limitação de vc só poder andar, como por exemplo no acampamento, porém isso é mero detalhe. Também achei meio maçante vc ser obrigado a quase sempre ter que andar com o cavalo, o fast travel é bem escasso e dificilmente vc vai usa-lo, creio que isso seja proposital visto que existe a mecânica de vc criar o vinculo comGameplay - muito boa, mas em certas partes chega a ser lento por ter a limitação de vc só poder andar, como por exemplo no acampamento, porém isso é mero detalhe.     História - Otima, gostei muito do desenrolar dela, mas eu achei um pouco lento no inicio, na parte das montanhas, depois que o grupo sai de la, ela flui bem, mas isso é apenas ponto de vista, sei que para alguns o jogo é perfeito do começo ao fim.
    Audio - Os sons ambientes são perfeitos, quando vc ta na mata a noite, da a sensação de estar ali, os animais, a atmosfera, tudo fica muito imersivo, a trilha sonora eu achei perfeita também.

    Merecia o GOTY em 2018? não sei, eu realmente fiquei em cima do muro kkkk. mas se ele ganhasse ia ficar feliz da mesma forma.    … Expand

    This game is a 10 as well as the first, although at the end of the day i prefer the first (due to personal taste). Graphically it is the best game of the PS4 and Xbox One generation, definitely. In narrative, he is among the best, but behind some others.

    Each chapter of the game introduces you to their world, to the gang, to the end of the west and has an end-of-age background that they are not aware of.

    The game has been accused of being boring, slow, and old missions.

    The game is not boring. From the beginning it starts strong and you meet the villains, already in the first chapter. He takes his time to develop the story that is formed through disjointed missions that form an incredible whole. Not like other games that only go straight to the main thing.

    It is not slow, it is how such a man would move, with realistic physics. If you are used to games like dmc5, bayonetta, etc, it is strange, but it is as it should be in rdr.

    The missions are now more narrative, mimicking linear games but you actually have more options than in other open world games.

    In some missions you can make small decisions such as doing it day or night, the dialogues change depending on whether you do a mission before or another or what you do in it, you can decide if you or a partner attack, etc. So you actually have more decision-making power than other current games.

    The world is the most alive seen in a video game with its random events, i.a, physics, narrative, secondary missions, weather effects, it is the most next gen of this generation.

    And all these details are created, but the game does not point a finger at you like other games that want you to see what they have done for you to see. You can end the game and lose it because you are not at the right time, that makes it real, dynamic, alive, you are not the center of the game, you live in it like any other character.

    Again this saga makes me cry for a character, for a story and also gives us the opportunity to know how everything was just before the first game instead of telling it in a video as other games would. Here you play it, you enjoy it.

    The online may seem scarce compared to gta v but it has had dlc's even in the world situation in which we are.

    Other games with a multiplayer component like gt5 or uncharted had less content and less time of it and there are no complaints. This is not a one-year game, the dlc's will arrive and there is already more content than many online will have in their life    … Expand

    The best game in game history. Characters are great. Open world is best and grapichs are the best.

    The game would have gotten better then 0, had it released multiplayer in a timely fashion. Also, priority on when you can start playing based on how much money you spent on the game? No thanks. Thanks Rockstar for wasting $60 of my hard earned American dollars for a snake without the venom. Biggest let down of the year.

    It is one of the best games of the decade. If you like a good story you should try it. Just buy the standard edition, there is not so many benefits from the other versions.

    It’s an huge, outstanding piece of art – worth the hard-earned cash as well as countless hours that are needed to get to know at least some of the attractions of Rockstar’s rendition of Wild West. For those who put story first – the biggest virtue of Red Dead Redemption 2 is that it sets the stage for RDR 1 and does it wonderfully. [13/2018, p.40]

    Amazing not only for Western lovers. No other game has probably offered so many options to express yourself in the open world, and at the same time did not have such an interesting, rough and moving story. A magnificent experience, with a slightly slower start. [Issue#291]
